1. Due to the Personal Story Anet is not going to allow this.
2. Due to Personal Story rewards, resetting the PS for a race changed character is not going to happen.
3. Per the post above, it’s not that difficult to rebuild a new character if you want a race change (I did it on a LVL 60 Sylvari thief).

1. This is an old issue that will continue to happen to new players (and even old players that are just not aware of what “unique” actually means).
2. Support has been known to assist in fixing this in the past.
3. It needs to have a better warning (if only to lessen Support work).

If your character was only LVL 20, then request that Support unban your original account (don’t ask for a roll-back) AFTER you prove to them that you actually OWN the original account. You should then have a 2nd account that you can do with what you want.

You likely got banned due to getting hacked and the hacker got the account banned….

Log into the security page on this site and remove your authorized IP address and the Authenticator will trigger. It does not ask for the code, if your IP has already been authorized and remembered.

Pretty sure the fact that no announcement or even mention of plans to open ANY new data centers (despite the location) are an indication that the response would be negative….

The only thing any MMO player should consider a constant is the inevitable change….never get to attached to any specific build as it will eventually be altered.

Rather than look at this as some devastating disappointment, you could view it as a challenge.

Perma Bank Express item from BL chest when I used to key farm a good bit (pre NPE). Sold it for about 650g.

I got a set of wings (don’t recall which ones) back during the first Dragon Bash and sold them for about 50g at the time (that was a LOT of gold back then).

Pretty sure the first time GW2 loads (when first started) your SSD is not going to make much of a difference. Now loading zones after the first load (and certainly reloading into a zone you have been in during the same session) an SSD would give better load times.

If it does have something to do with the streaming change, I would think starting the game once with -repair option should make sure your GW2.DAT file is fully updated (not streaming when loading into a zone) and has no corruptions.

So that’s 32 FPS showing at Claw phase change? We would need some other location numbers, but I’m not sure most players would consider that lower than expected (sans your expectations may be a tad high).

Have you tried turning SLI off? I’ve never dealt with it personally, but I’ve certainly heard players complaining that some SLI configurations will cause WORSE performance in GW2 than with it disabled (again, 2nd hand info with no experience).

Your implication and wording implies that Anet has intentionally looked for a way to cause injury to a specific set of players (that would be a rather small percentage I might add). Do you really think this is an intentional action to harm players that have not done Skill Challenges? Really? If so, why would you even consider continuing to play this game?

I’m not saying it’s not an unfortunate situation and you have no right to be upset, but why not wait to see what actually happens and then complain if you feel slighted by the actual update. I agree with Gator….OP sounds confused as to what was actually purchased. You can buy the RECIPE for the Insignia but it still has to be crafted (and by the character that consumed the recipe).

Is it possible you are just getting excessive lag (skill delay) that you are incorrectly translating to improper key functioning?

Beyond that, is it possible you have some other background programs that are hot keyed to those keys in some way?

Still don’t see how ANY of that will result in ANY different bandwidth requirements than prior to the streaming updates addition. Explain to me how you will now have to download more data?

A better explanation of how the streaming system works (and exactly how the settings apply to the system) is a valid request, but demanding a feature that may not be needed is not. I have no reason to believe HOW and WHEN a new content update STARTS is going to change….if you have other information, please share.

Pretty sure the stated policy is that if a single button press generates more than one in-game action, you are breaking the Terms of Use agreement. How that is enforced, monitored or detected is only answerable by Anet and I’m sure anything they say will have a “but we can change our minds whenever we want”, clause attached…..

Those of you that are concerned by this should just NOT log in until any downloading is complete. The option is to allow those that WANT to log in sooner said option.

I saw nothing in that video that appeared to be any excessive delays. Most players are well aware the TP and Gem Store run off different code than the rest of the game. Nobody is saying it’s perfect, but if some players can use it to make thousands of trades a day, you can suffer thru it to sell 10 items….

BL skins are always a crap shoot as an investment. Nobody here can tell you otherwise.

Pretty high chance, but its a lot of money and the chance of gettin zip is still too high…

Pretty sure the 0.7% is for dropping EXOTICS (not rares)….rares are 1/5th that (you have to get an exotic (1 in 5) from the rares to even have a chance of a precursor).

The games that have mounts were designed from the ground up (technical wise) to support displaying them (taking into account the resources on both server and client end needed to support them). This is not the case in GW2 and while it’s easy to armchair quarterback what would be needed to add them into the game (wile maintaining current player performance across the game), anyone that states it would be “simple” or “easy” is greatly mistaken.

The debacle with minis (that still garners complaints when they are “un-displayable”) should prove to everyone that you can’t simply add multi-thousand polygon count, animated NPCs for every player to the game without performance issues that GW2 simply cannot support in it’s current state. Revamping the entire to game to add a vanity item that is not needed for actual game play travel is a pretty HUGE request and I feel quite confident it’s not going to happen.

There is quite a difference between the “perception” of a problem and an actual problem…. Granted, if enough players “believe” there is an issue then that “belief” is the real issue that Anet must address. That does not change the fact that techncially an actual “problem” really only exists in some number of players imagination. Keep in mind that a couple of dozen players complaining on a message board (that likely represents less than 5% of the actual player base) does not make that “number” significant.

The only places in the game where you are pressured into this “zerker meta” is in Dungeon speed running…..Anet should ruin the rest of he game so a guy in Cleric gear will be happily accepted in a nitch game play mode?

“Support” is a pretty broad term so the answers would be more focused if you can go into some detail about what type of “support” you want to provide.

Note that ALL classes can provide some level of party / team support (some more than others), but FOCUSING your build completely on support will likely NOT be appreciated by other party members. Despite what some players want, this game is designed to reward those that can kill faster than the enemy (a.k.a DPS), and sacrificing potential DPS for unneeded Support is at the very least, inefficient.

Bottom line in GW2, every player should (and usually does) bring their OWN support.

Well….I convert them to wool, which saves me gold in my damask crafting.

Yes, I get that, but would you actually spend TIME farming Jute (rather than the Wool, Cotton, Linen and MOSTLY SILK you actually need)? I certainly promote all the Jute I get, but I don’t go out and spend time farming it. As I stated, if you need Jute for T1 crafting, that’s understandable, but that (less than 10% of total armor crafting) an promotion to Wool are the ONLY uses for Jute. The other tiers are used beyond 500 armor crafting.

I guess my point is that a video showing players how to farm T2 – T5 cloth would be much more useful but you can never convince some players that materials they farm are NOT really free…..if you look at all your economic choices from the view that your time is worth nothing, then you will never make informed decisions about generating resources.

If there was a problem with this post, it would be deleted (and everyone posting in it would get a PM about it).

Just saying I would NEVER give anyone 10g for something like this. Maybe 5g or less….

Note that JPs are NOT required for map completion (tho some are paralleled with Vistas).

You need some minimal number to get thru the first tier of the armor crafts, but beyond that, they are only useful to promote. Can you actually make decent gold from skill points by promoting Jute bolts again? I know this used to be a quite profitable, but very time consuming skill point to gold conversion method but from my understand has not been so for quite a long time.

Again, not bashing, I’m just curious.

I can see this being useful to a new player that wants to get a jump start on MF (get to 100% or even 150%) but beyond that the luck you get from this process will increase your MF at a snails pace…..(still it will most likely yield profits were salvaging ectos will likely NOT).

The answer depends on what you consider profitable. If you hit ONE high value item, it certainly can be. If you are looking to farm BL scraps or Tickets for skins….doubtful. I have done my fair share of key farming and always did it to break up other monotony of other activities and get some boosters and even a few skins for myself (I’ve never felt that Trading BL skins is worth the effort). I did hit a perma-bank item once that netted me a quick 500g, but if I honestly divided that over ALL the key runs I’ve done, I’d be hard pressed to call it “profitable”. I certainly don’t consider them wasted time either (no more than playing the game in general).

I guess it all comes down to how much time you spend on each run and what you “value” that time to be.

There are only 2 or 3 JPs in the game that are actually difficult enough to warrant needing a portal and most players will assist you for no charge at all.

Good luck to the OP (and I tend to agree that advertising these types of services is borderline acceptable).

While the OPs complaint is quite premature, this really boils down to a simple choice by each player:

A. Purchase HoT and gain all the benefits being offered by Anet.
B. Do NOT Purchase HoT and don’t gain all the benefits.

Simple choice that only each player can make.

If there are truly issues with the competitive areas of the game once HoT is released, feel free to complain about it then (when the issues are ACTUALLY real).

Keep in mind that Guilds are NOT directly associated with any account (even if you are the only member) and Anet has never restored any Guild storage or upgrades that I’m aware of. They have always been “hands off” when it comes to Guild issues.

The training manuals are no longer needed. They should have added a note to the description that stated as much (you should just destroy it).

The other possibility is that your connection is getting throttled by your ISP (or their supplier). Run a TRACERT on the ip you are connected to (/ip in chat) and you can most likely identify the problem in the route (and it’s very unlikely it’s the Anet servers). That report will also give you evidence to present to either your ISP or Anet to try and fix the problem.

This page will list all your authorized networks (and let you remove them). You can remove a remembered one and it will force the next login to need authorization.

Note that as far as I know, you can have either email or mobile authentication but disabling the authentication requires some special request via Support (you can’t do it yourself).

PLANNING on getting a desirable Ascended box drop is a recipe for disappointment…..good luck! (you’re gonna need it).

The path to the temples is never “blocked” but the Temples themselves are useless to a player without the Pact “owning” them. You have to do the event chains to capture them and then the NPCs that make them worthwhile will be available.

You pic shows the WP unlocked, so the character has been there before (the skill point challenge is even done).

Make sure you let Support KNOW you serial # is compromised or a hacker can use it to compromise your account in the future.

I do recall one short time frame before one of the WvW seasons started where they altered the “pricing” to transfer in an attempt to encourage a server population balancing:

FULL / VERY HIGH population servers were 150% normal cost
HIGH population servers were normal price.
MEDIUM servers were 50% normal
LOW population servers were FREE.

Since they haven’t done this again (that I’m aware of), I don’t think it improved the server population balancing at all.

The most interesting part of this thread is the constant vision I get of some players actually enjoying killing the same skelks over and over again to obtain materials rather than performing a number of other (repetitive) tasks to obtain gold and buy what those skelk drop…..

I guess I can see being upset that Anet thwarts the ability to farm skelk to your hearts content, but they do provide other options that sane players would consider less tedious…..but to each their own (I guess).

While I agree the Ele is likely # 1 on this list (and can SUSTAIN the killing….but with a LOT more work than most other classes), exactly HOW would one “spam” a 60 sec CD skill?

NOTING the GW2 client does needs an i7……an i5 is more than sufficient.

Per above, unless you are going to do some serious overclocking, a huge aftermarket cooler is just a waste of money.

HOLD ALT then hit TAB to open a select list of all running application. Keep hitting tab until your desktop is highlighted and release all keys.

The above should minimize ALL programs on your main monitor desktop.

Ping is NOT a reliable way to identify network latentcy….just general connectivity. It is NOT uncommon for servers to NOT prioritize (or even respond at all) to a ping request.

Use TraceRT for finding routing or latency issues.

Assuming issues like this are the Anet servers because “all my other internet works fine”, is just technically incorrect and simply shows you are not aware of how the internet really works.
