You’re so wrong Kitt. It’s sickening how confident you are about it.
You must be new to pvp
for the skyhammer thread to have over 1,000 posts and 16,000 views and not be officially addressed by Anet in said post. It’s 10x bigger than any post ever made…
Looks like recent update fixed stomping along with thief steal bug. Thanks.
Day later, still happening. Please at least address it.
Please fix it. 75% of the time I can’t stomp someone. Happens on every map, every class I play.
Update: Apparently it occurs when you’re in free cast (holding down right mouse button). I haven’t logged on this morning, so if has been resolved please post.

This got so off topic. Let’s summarize. Running a cheese phantasm spec is… cheese. GJ on using it to win a tournament, I would have too for a precursor. That being said, it involves ZERO skill and doesn’t make him anything close to a top dueler.
20 people tell you otherwise and you still decide to stay so one-sided.
“If Mesmer would have been banned, he had three other classes he would have been happy to run, and I guarantee he would have won on two of them, most likely the third.
He’s not a streamer and he’s not a loudmouth, so there’s the reason nobody sees him on a regular basis. But if you did, you’d likely agree with me."[/quote]
Would love to know the other 3 classes he can play along with the builds he runs with them. This should be good.
Meh, like I said, anybody can challenge him to a duel. I won’t directly respond to any salty comments.
Running Harmonious Mantras phantasm mesmer pretty much explains it all. It involves kiting around while your phantasms whittle your opponent down. Absolutely no skill involved. I’m sorry if he’s your friend and your trying to defend him, but its 100% true.
lol @ top dueler in game comment
I wasn’t too disappointed with the dragon finisher. It’s a bit small, but overall the animation isn’t bad and I definitely like it better than Bear/Pheonix.
I would have preferred a dragon finisher with a fire theme that was like the dragon firework from the first LotR fireworks, but again, I think the dragon finisher would have always been underwhelming due to the size limits of finishers.
Go to youtube. Type in something like “Gw1 Heroes Ascent r15 dragon finisher”. Compare that finisher (8 years old) to ours now. Proceed to facepalm on how much better all /ranks were in gw1.
You can use quaggan tonics in hotm. Just checked 30 seconds ago.
Got my hopes up only to realize you lied.

I’m standing im hotm as a pink quaggan as i type this… Is there something I’m missing?

Terrible idea. Promotes point farming and constant attemps of backcapping. Bunkers usually have the lowest points on the team, but are vital to the teams’ success. Most points DOES NOT mean most contribution.
You’re gonna wanna at least try out elemental shaman. Great burst and having bloodlust is great team utility.
Depends on spec, some have higher skill caps than others.
For instance mesmer.
Phantasm spec is the easiest to play
Shatter is pretty straight forward, just get the rotations down.
PU requires a little more thought
Interrupt probably has the highest skill cap of any spec for any class in the game, as it requires you to know every single class and their animations to play it at 100%.
To answer you question OP, powerblock/interrupt mesmer is probably the hardest thing to play. You could probably get away with just mashing interrupts on cooldown, but the at top of the skill ceiling for that particular spec you can absolutely shut people down if you know what spec they are running and know the skills that absolutely need to be put on cd by powerblock, and being able to recognize the animations and when they are likely to use them.
Laughing too hard after seeing what you said about PU to continue reading
I’m not trolling.
PvP is about point capture and sometime it does not require to kill players to achieve this and that’s perfectly fine.It promotes passive play to much. You are better off tanking at your own points than trying to capture enemy or kill enemy to prevent them from capture. That is wrong.
You feel that tanking your own points and backcapping an opponent’s point when they’re not there is “passive play”? Why?
Because you just sit at a point and do nothing. The builds that pop up as a result of how PvP is are what most would consider lame and boring.
Stalling a point gives you so much, while trying to get it back from you gives almost nothing in comparison.
I’ve fought many good bunkers who are skillfully able to mitigate my damage. That is the very opposite of “doing nothing”. If you could explain what you mean by “doing nothing”, it would be helpful.
This is not about skill. If you killed a bunker chances are you also lost the game. Thats the point.
And if you don’t kill a bunker, you lose the game. Your point being? Two DPS classes can easily take out any bunker all things and skill being equal. Especially true after the engi’s AR nerf.
A skilless bunker will not last. A skillful bunker will last. A poor DPS will not kill a bunker. A good DPS can (depends on the build of course. Not all DPS builds are the same and neither are all bunkers. There’s a bit of rock paper scissors going on, but so what?)
You don’t even really need to kill the bunker. Just push them off point (easy with the right build in any map other than foefire mid).
My point being is that you end up with lose lose situation. Isn’t that obvious?
Bunkers get HUGE benefit from doing what they’re doing while the enemy gains minimal reward for spending a massive amount of time trying to kill them. Since 2-3 people are needed to kill a bunker semi-fast it means that bunker’s team can capture other points more easily.
Basically: If they don’t kill bunker, they lose. If they kill bunker, they also lose.
There is no rock paper scissors going on; it’s just rock.
Another problem is that the PvP here is not intuitive at all. A new player will have no idea how important these points are and what to do to capture them because there is no tutorial to teach them. This makes PvP really frustrating because you will get people who have no idea how to play with or against the meta.
Stop fighting it. Almost everyone here has disagreed with you for a reason. You’re wrong.
But then when everyone de-selects Skyhammer, Anet would finally have to admit nobody likes it and couldn’t point to imaginary numbers that said otherwise. Fat chance…
It seems to stop after 25% in normal-mode and only moves if you go into soloQ
That seems to be the case, at least for me. But I never read anything about this in the patch notes or Ready-Up. Hopefully a dev can come in and clarify.
I’m about 1/4 through balthazar and I just noticed hotjoins stopped giving me progression through the track. Is this intentional because I never read anything about that.
I don’t mind doing soloq to finish the track, but I’ve been learning a new class and would prefer to stick to hotjoins with it until I get better.
Balthazar or Nightmare? Need some opinions.
they’d never give them a free legendary, although im not saying they dont derserve one. they SHOULD receive something though
OK jk, i bought the straps from the vendor. It still won’t give me any of the options i’ve unlocked. When I got on my mes I can see all of them, but everyone else can’t.
Thank you Karina! Arent you from CD as well? I recognize the name. If you are you might remember me, I’m “The Snituation”
anyone? can’t find an answer to this
For some reason, only one of my characters (my level 80 mesmer) has access to all the backpacks I’ve unlocked over the years. Anyone know why this is? Is there some sort of level requirement to where them or something?
It’s just common sense really.
So I don’t think I’ve ever made a thread on the forums, and I don’t think the people who do this even read the forums. But, it’s worth a shot.
I want everyone to understand that your personal score in a game doesn’t affect how many points you get at the end anymore.
That being said, I can’t count how many times I’m still seeing points being double/triple/quadruple capped, especially at the start of games. Granted, I see it most often in hotjoins, but it’s happened in soloq a few times as well.
Please… for the love of god… only one person needs to cap. There are times when I’ll be capping a point and a teammate will run up to it right as its done capping just for the points. Go to a different point that’s contested and be useful. Point farming is old-hotjoin-style pvp. Leave it in the past where it belongs.
