GW2 expansion - 1Q Ncsoft Conference Call [merged]

Ah “soft” has the iron ball grip of death on “net” I see….

Or, they’re saying exactly what Anet has said themselves.

They’re interested in and will likely produce an expansion or so in the future, but will be continuing to strengthen and reinforce the current game at present.

GW2 is still fresh off the assembly line, very new and young for an MMO. It’s not even a year old yet.

Even so, we’ve been getting small free content updates on a monthly basis no more then a few months after launch.

The story is really being fleshed out. They’re very devoted to the core game right now, and that’s awesome.

What they’ve done and what they’re doing now is nothing short of incredible.

Nice straw man. I never said anything about Anet making money

Really? Be honest now.

But why do that when they can make a couple million dollars on keys with a 1 in ~500 chest drop rate?

… but you can’t tell me that they aren’t making enough and NEED to make things both limited and RNG from BLC. That’s ridiculous.

You wouldn’t want to give people the impression that you’re lying when you say that.

Why not the legendaries?

You can in fact do this with legendaries I believe, but they will lose their legendary status when you transmute them.

That means if Legendaries get a buff in the future, yours won’t get it.

You will keep the look and using crystals, you can transmute that look to any other character that can use it.

Yes, but then I need to make this exercise each time I decide to switch a toon?!

No, the transfer is permanent unless you use a stone or crystal again to give it to yet another character.

Do you plan to work with one skin on six different characters, transmuting it for each one you want to play with it on? Maybe then I could see your conundrum?

I’m not certain what you mean though, so, pardon the assumption.

If you really did want to do something like that, if you have the stones or crystals, yes, you could do that. And yes, you would have to go through that process per your want.

This whole dungeon could have been made permanently with a token system to reward those weapons.

That doesn’t make any sense. It’s a special event, an ongoing story that’s coming to an end shortly so that another part can begin.

We end up destroying the place. We blow it up. Ka-boom! Dungeon go bye-bye.

But why do that when they can make a couple million dollars on keys with a 1 in ~500 chest drop rate?

Yeah. How dare Anet try to make a profit with their game in a completely optional cosmetic way?

You can already do this with transmutation stones and crystals!

If you transmute a skin onto a no level req white item or even any other item that is not soulbound, you then make that skin “account bound” when you transfer the skin to a non-soulbound item.

You can then take your new account-bound and formerly soulbound skin and apply it to another weapon or armor (of the same type) that you’d like on any other character on your account.

Awesome, right?

It does really depend on what you want to do.
Charr-wise though? Go with what you feel best defines the type of Charr you want to be. When I heard Charr were playable and could be any profession, I decided Mesmer. Why Mesmer? Because I wanted my Charr to be full of magic, but not Elementalist because the Flame Legion were all fire and stuff and I wanted to avoid that and Necromancer was a little too dark instead of just “magic.”
For you, do you want to be the kind of charr that stalks into the camp like a panther and takes down the enemy, always present but not noticed until it’s far, FAR too late? Do you enjoy the idea of shifting around like a ghost on the wind striking with ferocity and then vanishing into the night? Go Thief.
Or, do you want to be more like a Lion battle commander, shouting out encouragement that rallies the troops (and literally buffs/heals them) and either keeps them going with support or charges into the fray? Go Guardian.
I find that choosing something fun and creative will keep you enjoying the game long after nerfs/buffs/metagame/flavor of the month has come and gone. And as a game, that’s it’s purpose- fun.

Well said.

Religion and Guild Wars 2

CETheLucid.3964

Indignant?

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

Just made me scratch my head at that use.

It’s legit.

Me, I find it intriguing because I find “religion” and “faith” are distinct things. I know plenty of people who claim one religion or subdivision of such . . . and willingly act against principles central to it (“Do unto others…” for instance).

This is true.

When someone writing a fiction wants to pick up the idea of blind devotion being wrong? I’ll stand behind the story on that note, because you should never default to “because I was just following policy” for how you live your life.

Story of the charr, titans, and flame legion.

The other legions eventually threw off that yoke, and thus the rebellious and critical eye of the charr towards deities and even magic in general.

“Rely on iron, not false gods.”

The titans were certainly false gods (felled by humans) and the flame legion theocratic slavers.

Were the flame legion to have their way, I imagine charr society might be a bit like Bioshock Infinite with a Pyre Fierceshot as Booker.

. . . what sexuality? They’re gender-neutral and have . . . have nothing to . . . suddenly my brain hurts trying to grasp this.

It’s not very hard to understand. The sylvari are not gender-neutral. There are males and females. With regards to their sexuality it is indiscriminate.

Some fall in love with each other, another race, same gender, different gender…

The sylvari are not able to reproduce of themselves, like humans or asura might for example. Maybe that’s what you meant?

It’s really hard to try to talk about religion in a fiction not making sense when there is tangible proof in-setting that they actually have a presence and power. In the real world, it’s rather easy to do for people. (Don’t bother debating me on this, I won’t do it.)

In a world where you could in the past seek an audience with the Five Gods and speak to their avatars by showing some sign of respect and offering a small tithe . . .

The same can be said for the Jews and the Christians. Avatars being a pillar of cloud by day, a pillar of fire by night, a guy named Jesus Christ.

Did things no other person or mere mortal could ever accomplish.

All of this is some fairly basic theology and much of it recorded history. Tangible proof of God’s presence and power. Not debating or anything. Just an honest observation.

These faiths are also very exclusive and warn those who would listen that God is going to judge a sinful world for it’s sins.

I’m going to guess that’s why most of the world can’t really stand either Jews or Christians. There’s enough there to make one pause and think, maybe this is true.

And if it is, I’ll need to change, pay attention to all of these things.

The Jews alone make a compelling physical case for their God. Their mere existence defies some impossible odds and irritates many to no end.

The rhetoric is often vile, conspiracy loaded (Jews control the banks, Jews caused 9/11, Jews are the 1%, Jews are Anonymous), just blind irrational hatred.

They can’t even be bothered to be consistent about it.

No other people has been the target of so much hate, so many genocide attempts. Their nation was long dead until about 65 years ago.

No other people has kept their unique identity in such a vast diaspora, let alone their language and unique customs completely intact.

It’s interesting.

Female Charr as male Charr

CETheLucid.3964

… Make a male charr, get over how buff he is for a caster? Maybe reevaluate your priorities? Sounds like something you’ll need to deal with yourself.

We can’t fix how you think or readjust your preferences (try as some might).

You can offer a suggestion in the suggestion forums if you feel very strongly about it, but more over you’ll have to deal with what’s available.

If you want my opinion the skinny buff male charr looks like a great caster, and the way they cast with a staff is pretty BA.

They all hunch because although they’re bipedal, they’re always ready to break out on all fours. Because they can. Their anatomy allows it.

They’re limber. Always ready to rush into battle and attack. Makes em’ look menacing. Charr are pretty awesome.

You’ll get more of the same with the female charr except slimmer, fluffier (tail), less beastly ever slightly (or just as beastly depending on how you build her)… female.

She will be a she and you’ll be reminded of it every time she speaks. That’s all she wrote.

We don’t own that moral high ground. Humans can and have proven to be just as savage as the charr.

There are cases of humans skinning other humans and making shoes of them, let alone armor made of charr.

No but seriously, the most vocal people about this are folks using some hardcore furry terminology. That right there should tell you enough. It didn’t need to go there.

There’s nothing wrong with Roxx to most sane people. She’s legit. She’s a young charr with big cat eyes. Deal with it.

They could have made them even bigger and it would still be natural. As natural as huge horned bipedal hell cats come.

You may want to look at it.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Rescale-Quickening-Zephyr/first#post1713208

Good read!

Though I still appreciate that extra second they gave us, your idea to just lower the cool down is probably a whole lot better (and more reasonable lol) then 7-10 secs of 50% heal QZ.

It stays pretty much the same, but it’s made up for in that cool down. 40 secs base is perfect. I could live with 45. 50 is blah.

I also hope they’ll buff BM’s Zephyr’s Speed by a second or two to account for the quickness nerf.

Thanks for wasting my time.

in Ranger

Posted by: CETheLucid.3964

CETheLucid.3964

Berserkers still have all their DPS. Nothing got nerfed in that regard. The quickness burst is what got nerfed and it is a global nerf. This effects everyone.

Your QZ burst still viable in that regard, it’s not lesser then any other classes quickness burst. You get an extra second of it now and a new stunbreaker.

As a ranger you still have access to it more then anyone else. I just hope they buff BM’s Zephyr’s Speed in like manner with an extra second or two.

It may have helped in PvP. It hurt in PvE.

The days of F4 godly fast takedowns are over.

Nah, quickness still makes it faster then your average bear. It still throws people off. You’re just mortal now.

If you’re a ranger, you still have access to it more then anyone else and the speed takedown is still the sweetest of takedowns.

Also you get it for a second longer, and a new stunbreaker. Add a second or two to the pet swap version and that’ll just be cherry.

I can accept this. I just wish since it’s not so bursty anymore, that we can get more time in it. That extra second is nice. Helps in the non-combat situation (speed-rezzing).

Maybe another or three? Pleeeeaaaase?

OMG, dont ever show on this forums again. The longer you have quickness the longer you cant heal? 7-8 secs without heal? You must be dreaming.

Typically you shouldn’t use QZ when the pressure is on you, though sometimes it might help you.

Now that it’s a stun breaker, I can imagine there are some scenarios in a fight where you might have more health then your foe where you end up royally fooing up someones combo on you and end up out DPSing them.

Break stun, concussion/pbs, poison volley/qs, rapid fire, barrage.

Depending on your build and, maybe if you have the bows on switch so you can do all of the above, that’s over 2-3K burst in a couple of seconds while maintaining a consistent damage thereafter.

You’re right though. It’s probably way overkill to have QZ for 7-10 secs for you and the pet. A guy can dream though.

Maybe instead of completely negating healing now with the change, make it 10 secs of quickness and heals 50% less effective while in QZ?

Still probably OP though. You get the cut of my jib at any rate.

Wow man. Maybe you don’t understand how the stones work. You make max armor of any skin and variety, basically, whatever stats you prefer…

Then with transformation stones, you pick a skin you personally enjoy (such as dragonfly wing armor), and put it on your max armor.

You now have max armor with the skin you like most.

There’s both positive and negative feedback. Then there’s also good and bad feedback. It seems we have an abundance of all four in this thread, mostly bad unfortunately. XD I hope that Anet will not write off the good positive/negative feedback just because of the bad.

The best way to voice your opinion and give criticism is to do it in the shoes of the artist. If you were the person or company who designed Rox, which piece of feedback would you likely listen to?

1. “What in the world?! Ewww, nasty gross. Ugliest character design ever! I hate you Anet for doing this. Blah blah blah. This is trash, I am never making a Charr again because of -insert reason here without any real constructive criticism- !!!”

or

2. “Hi there! I really enjoy the Charr, but I believe something isn’t quite right about the new character’s eyes. It may be at best interest to adjust them to look more natural. -example of what you believe is better here-. At the moment, they are appear much too big. This is throwing off some of the other features in her face, and it’s causing her to look slightly distorted or disproportionate in certain places. If your were to make them a bit smaller, it would -please insert why this idea would be better- Etc, etc, etc. I would be very grateful if you took all of this into consideration! Thank you so much for taking the time to read up on what I have to say. The original design decisions behind the female Charr are very inspiring to me and I hope you remain loyal to them. I think it’s great that you chose a female Charr to be the next lead in the upcoming patch! Seriously, Charr should lead everything!!!”

Short and simple, but still gets all the points across. A lot of heart and time goes into art. ^^ Giving feedback the way you would want to receive it is the best way to go in my opinion. It shows you have interest, passion and respect for the whatever/whoever it is you are criticizing.

(Note – That feedback isn’t actually something I stand with, it’s just a random example I thought up of. I don’t find Rox all that game breaking, but think a bit of improvement wouldn’t hurt).

What would be better would be a handful ppl clicking on the siege and click de-spawn.
if enough ppl do it then the siege disappears.
So commanders can have control over the sieges as well by asking there followers to de-spawn it if needed.

This is a brilliant idea. At least on paper. I’m not sure what the number could be to make it feasible though.

It can’t be low enough where it doesn’t do anything to stop the problem, and it can’t be too high or else it’ll be too hard to coordinate a larger number of people to do as you ask.

Many longstanding GW1 players do feel like it happened “last night”, which is something that lore can’t take into account, but which does have an influence. It’s 250 years between the two games but has only been recently for GW1 players that they fought the beasts that are the Charr in GW Prophecies. Beasts who weren’t even capable of speech, who committed genocide on an innocent population, destroyed the land, served an evil god and even ate humans.

I see the Charr of GW2 as a different species, kinda. The Charr of GW1 were (with very few exceptions which were added later) just evil monsters one killed (so that they did not kill you), so there is no feeling of “atrocities” committed by humanity in the minds of many players.

Although GW2 tries to retcon some of the things the Charr did, it still does have an influence on how many players feel, me being among them. And it remains to be seen if the Charr are capable of keeping peace, or if they try to eradicate the “infestation” (that’s how they saw humanity) once more in the future.

Which leads me to the original question of this thread, i do feel for the ghosts. I avoid fighting them as much as i can. They deserve to be laid to rest eventually, but the time is not right for that yet. As much as i pity them, they serve as a way to control the Charr to some degree.

I’m a longstanding GW1 player.

I still thought charr were pretty awesome, even if it was my goal to pretty much eradicate every one of them I ran across due to the hostilities of the time.

A morbid respect I guess.

Still, I let Pyre and his warband live. When the time came that our people had to war again I never did find him on the field of battle, nor he I.

You’re just more a Gwen type.

In Gwen’s case, it was completely understandable. I also sympathize with the folks in Ebonhawk who lost their loved ones in the wars.

These are my own brothers and sisters lorewise. I get it.

Just be careful of your zeal and your hatred blinding you. The past is the past. What we’ve suffered the charr have suffered in turn. We live today. They’re really not all bad.

Some of them have a tail stomping coming to them, an entire legion still wants to kill you (and their own brothers and sisters for that matter)…

But the greater majority respect the treaty between our people and several are fine folks. Some are cherished and beloved friends without equal.

Wouldn’t replace them for anyone else. Get to know them. You might be surprised.

No way could anyone construe the hearts being permanent. They change.

You get a free shot to pick something meaningful, like Meatoberfest going on nigh forever, but you pick this? That’s taking a strike willingly, my friend.

I mean, the ones that come to mind are keeping the road clear of Sons of Svanir . . . which have that tendency to keep coming back because there’s always more of them out there. And they want to do this.

In the same vein, they’re going to continue trying to destroy Jora’s Statue because . . . they really, really hate her and there will always be someone wanting to put it right when it gets wrecked because she is kind of a big deal to the norn.

This isn’t “Lord Nagafen” dying and coming back every week like clockwork (“Oh Veeshan’s Shiny Butt it’s those idiots from Fires of Heaven again, well, better roar menacingly and hope they get it over with fast. I don’t get paid enough for this gig.”) or Hogger always being around tormenting newbies,

This is a faceless organized gang being disruptive.

It’s not even like the dragon champions aren’t covered – the dragons make many champions. “The Shatterer” is a title afforded to a particular type of champion, as is “Claw of Jormag”. Tequatl, I have no excuse for . . . and would have been a stellar choice to set up for a rant about how you kill it every three hours and it always comes back.

You cant seriously be that dense, ok take any heart where you need to “clear the road” of hostiles, there are many of them in the game in various zones. You spend 10 min running down the road killing the hostiles and destroying roadblocks/signs/whatever else the heart calls for. You go back the next day and guess what, there are still hostiles on the roads and roadblocks because guess what, other players also need to be able to do that heart quest.

Sure the guy will remember you did it and cleared the road but you didnt really clear the road because its still infested with hostiles.

Also, its on them to CLEARLY state what they are talking about not for me to magically read there kittening minds. That video was VERY poorly filmed/edited and said NOTHING AT ALL about the context colin or ree was talking about.

Mmhm. Heart event name, please?

I will post back next time im leveling a alt and find one, hard to do once you have map completion because it fails to tell you what you had to do when you originally got the heart when you go back to that area.

… And what does that tell you about a heart event being a permanent affair? Think for a moment! Read this again.

Yes, the heart events are permanent changes. That’s a fact. The end.

What you may be describing is another type of event. Dynamic world and group events replay. This is also a fact.

But if you’re going to argue the case instead of just trolling per the OP, lay down some cold hard facts why heart events are not a permanent change.

Which event is this exactly that you’re describing? What kind of event is it?

Heart event != Other kind of event.

Had i known from the getgo what colin was talking about, and what Ree was talking about i can tell you it would have saved me alot of aggrivation.

Pay attention, then. That’s on you and not them.

Even the hearts arnt permanent changes, sure you are done it after you kill X centars or bandits or collect X items or whatever the situation is and then you are done.

But those centars/bandits/whatever are still attacking and burning the farm, long after you have “saved” it.

I realize that this would be very hard to implement in a MMO which is also why i think they should have left that part of the video where it belong, as nothing more than a dream of a game design that is not possible to implement.

Prove me wrong.

Is it really necessary to keep making these same exact threads?

Nope.

lies, lies everywhere! shame!

Nope.

One of my favourite claims are that they are against mobs respawning 10 minutes later to be killed. Oh I understand so 1 hour is better right? Well it is 6x more. This contridicts what they said about that. IN MY OWN SERVER I get put into overflow server because so many are doing the SAME event.

Hold it. Sounds like more then a few someones are having a good time if the event is so popular that you’re being dumped into an overflow as a result.

So much for that whole ‘the game is dying’ thing you people were harping on no less then a month or so ago.

And yes no one cares if we killed it and yes thousands are doing the same thing.

dont get me wrong, i like this game..instead is the only game i play atm since is free after all and is good time silk, but dude: that colin johanson or wtv hes name is, is no to be trusted anymore. i hate when they use marketing ploy to cheat on me.

The chick isnt any better, i mean seriously she talked about changing the world, lasting effects, people remembering you helped their village?

Its all complete load of kitten. You rescue a village and 10 min later its under attack again, you save someone farm and 10 min later its under attack again, there is ZERO permanent changes like she is talking about in this game.

The NPC’s care, BTW. That’s the point. It’s a story.

Several send you a thank you note, with money, and those folks aren’t in the most dire of straights they were in prior to your assistance.

You can’t replay the hearts. You had a permanent impact.

But no I seriously doubt most event farmers or even folks not big on the game lore give two kittens about any of it in general, let alone stuck around long enough to hear or else read the event conclusion dialogue.

I wonder how many actually took the time to read those letters?

Yes, the world events restart after a bit. What else did you expect to happen? One time Kralkatorrik general fight?

Build a bridge and get over it.

- “So, as you all can see, this man has committed the following crimes …”
- “Ah, come on, someone else did some crimes too! So i innocent! This is perfectly logical, why didn’t you see that?”

A crime is a crime, regardless of whether the offense was committed by someone else.

You act like these things happened last night or something. This was over the course of 250 years or so. What’s done is done.

Atrocities were committed by both sides here. Neither race get’s the victim card. We were both awful to one and other.

That can change or we can keep at each others throats. It is far more beneficial to seek peace then to continue an endless race war.

It’s more fun and unique too. Charr’s and humans and all the races mingled together, united against a common bad is a lot more interesting then racial factions.

I really enjoy GW2 for that. I feel for the ghosts of the past, but I’m also practical and willing to move forward with whatever comes.

A moral and satisfying end to all of this would be a decisive peace between our people, human and charr, and with it the end of Ascalon’s curse and the freedom of our ancestors.

Why does everyone hate Trahearne?

Never understood the Trahearne hate. Or the Logan hate for that matter. They’re cool people. Ya’ll are a weird lot.

At the end of the day because the face of the story follows after Trahearne, the heroes of Destiny’s Edge and the development of the world story as a whole, my personal character is free to pursue any path I wish.

The story is a very grandiose, global in scale. The world is ‘evolving’, alive and you’re both witness to that and an active participant.

Your character has a staring role in that. It very much involves you, you’re the catalyst to all of these things happening.

For that reason I’m not locked into ‘teh star you win its all over’, though I most certainly am the character of the hour in any instance throughout.

The story is awesome and I’m glad I’m not shoehorned into being ‘teh star’ of it. Yet the way it’s set up very much makes me an integral part of it, it doesn’t work without me.

I like it open ended like that, many people do, but I suppose many people also like to be told ‘YOU ARE WINNER THE END GO HOME’.

Eh.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.

Personally, I want a replay option like in GW1 where I can relive all the cutscenes anytime I want without making a new character.

want to change my home server.

paid transfer and still got 7 day timer is dumb. illogically

It’s to prevent abuse by people who are asinine enough to abuse the system to mess with the WvW ladder. Yes, they exist. Yes, they would pay to do it.

So with that in mind, it’s completely logical. Do something else for seven days.

But yes, being able to move while channeling whirling defense is something that needs to happen. The same is true for barrage.

One million billion thumbs up for you.

Or maybe make barrage work a bit like meteor shower. It’ll always go off after a certain point, but more damage/time for the AoE is given if you let the whole thing go off.

But interrupting it early should be an option instead of completely killing the attack like it works now if you interrupt it/are interrupted.

CETheLucid.3964

It’s been six months since the game’s release.

If they’ve been “quietly working on it” they should have more to show for it by now. I’ve been keeping an eye on the patch notes looking for an excuse to log back into the game for over three months now and I have yet to see anything significant regarding the ranger.

Then don’t log in until it’s all better for you. You lose nothing for it. Oh, but don’t forget to cancel your subscription in the mean time.

Also never pointing out issues or expressing one’s frustration always helps the developers make a better game because no wait it doesn’t.

I never said you shouldn’t express your issues and frustrations. Read.

I said you shouldn’t be a complete pissant about it if you expect the devs to communicate with you.

The reason they aren’t is because for the greater part, you lot are utter knarks about the whole thing. No sympathy or any understanding about the whole process of development.

(inb4 im a former dev and i would do this soo much better, go do it then ham)

I want it now, why can’t I have it now, it’s taking way too long, anybody else would do this much faster, give me details that you can’t give me, and at what day and hour can I expect it?

And God help you if it’s even a moment late!

Seriously. What do you expect a dev to say to you? Besides maybe screw you? So since they can’t say that, they’ll just let you sit there and cry about it.

Lol… you people lack common sense in addition to common courtesy.

No ball is dropped here. The charr plans take actual lore time to implement. That’s very charr like. The containment units were a temporary solution that kept the ghost contained. But like most things, have some form of weakness. The ghostbore weponry doesn’t have that weakness. It seems that according to lore, the only weakness it has is a matter of resources. which means it can’t be deployed on a grand scale. but neither was the containment units. the main diffrence here, however is that once a ghost is taken care of by ghostbore weoponry it will never be a problem again. so it really is the beginning of the end for the ghosts. yes they are a problem. And yes there is a solution. that’ the lore.

Mmhm. Per the lore and the in game environment at present, Ascalon remains a haunted land. Before, and more importantly, after ghostbore weaponry.

They still have a ghost problem. You can’t deny that anytime you decide to take a stroll through Ascalon.

However, you’re free to speculate that ghostbore weaponry is the beginning of the end in place of a lasting peace between charr and humans with Magdaer and Sohothin lifting the curse.

That story isn’t concluded just yet.

Not sure how that response applies. My post is applicable becasue you equated all death. So you contradict yourself by saying it’s insincere at all. because by saying it, you take a position that there is death that is okay. Thereby implying that all death is not equal.

Also, it’s not “die or die”.

Please don’t take me out of context. Such as in the example of war VS murder, there are differences.

Mine was in the context of this discussion and not to be assumed that I have such a simplistic view of death overall.

That’s poor hermeneutics on your part.

But yes. Die or die. There is no better option unless you think death is a good thing. It’s not. I don’t believe so. Do you?

Being dead is something you want to avoid. You can continue to argue the semantics if you want. Makes no difference to me.

Per this instance, dead is dead, be it slow or be it quick.

For Ascalon’s last day, it came down to be dead or be dead and raise all kinds of hell for the kittens who put you in the ground.

The charr learned that day that you don’t mess with Adelbern.

They’ve been reminded of the fact every moment since then when they lose their cubs and their mates to the curse of the land.

It’s a tragedy that affects both sides.

yep. it’s the containment units. As I just said.

Somebody dropped the ball then. It’s very uncharr like to supposedly have the solution to your problem, and then still have the problem just the same.

As long as the ghosts of Ascalon remain, I’m going to assume they have a ghost problem and that the ghostbore weaponry while effective in what it does on an individual basis, doesn’t do much for the problem at large.

i guess if you want to simplify it to the point of absurdidty. But by this logic murder is the same as a peaceful death since both outcomes end with the person being dead.

It’s insincere to interject a murder argument into war. That’s not how murder works.

“WHAT IF THE MILITARY GOT INVESTIGATED 4 MURDER???”

They just started but from the testing, it goes pretty good What had been failing before was the containment units. because the ghosts would always get set free. Now there’ll be nothing to set free.

Last I checked, charr are still troubled by ghosts. Somethings getting free out there.

it’s not die or die. It’s die quick or die over and over again for 250+ years. There have actually been cruel dictators who keep doctors on hand to keep their torture victims revived as long as possible. Sometimes for weeks on end. Which most would agree is a worse fate than a quick death.

So, yes. It’s die or die. Both end up with you being dead.

The charr have actually found a violent solution to the ghosts of ascalon in ghostbore technology. Not as poetic but definatlly in the spirit of charr.

And how has that worked out for them? They still have a ghost problem.

Had Adelbern ordered a surrender, the Charr would’ve likely killed everyone immediately, or if not immediately, in very short order. The souls of the defeated Ascalonians would’ve likely at that point went on into the Mists. That compared to over two centuries of restless torment initiated by your own king, at least in my opinion, would be a better end. It’s basically a choice between a quick death and then Valhalla, or being trapped in a form of purgatory that may never see an end, and I at least vote for the former being the better choice that the Ascalonians were not allowed to make.

Die or die?

How is that a better choice? I don’t begrudge the king for doing what he did. He’s not anymore crazy then the charr sycophants that wrought the searing.

His course of action while he was alive was one of desperation in an impossible situation.

You would have done no better. You’d have seen the death of your people and your kingdom one way or another.

At least in this way everybody would have the chance to give these beasties hell.

We all had our genocidal goes at each other and we’re both still standing. We can keep going until one of us dies or we can stop.

Charr may like warfare, but they’re mortal.

You can’t wage war forever, much less against a countless amount of super natural beings that can’t be permanently dealt with.

Add to that a mortal war between dragons, living humans, and should the charr become less diplomatic and more xenophobic (Flame Legion threat), pretty much all the other sentient races of Tyria…

It doesn’t bode well for the charr to be antagonistic towards peace. They would benefit from it in every way.

Humans being on the brink are in a similar position. We can’t afford to let the past define our course in this instance.

The charr prove to be invaluable allies, and time will continue to heal the past. This generations rocky peace will be tomorrows steadfast allies with hope.

It’s poetic that the only true release for both the charr and the ghosts of Ascalon will be by forging a peace between our people.

Then our ancestors will rest and the charr will have reprieve.

This thread shows how much they care about Ranger.
0 kittens given about this thread, 0 kittens given about the class.

It certainly has nothing to do with the asinine way people try to communicate their issues. That can’t be it. If I were a dev I wouldn’t touch this thread either.

What can they say honestly?

Working on it? You’re still mad. You want an exact date like they’re on your time, balance and polish be kittened. You want details they can’t honestly give you.

It’s coming? They’re lying, obviously! It’s never coming, maybe in like 2022 amiriteguise?

They are very likely following this thread, but any hope of expecting a response is dashed when you people carry yourselves like they boiled your pet rabbit.

So instead, you get to sit here and fester wondering why no dev wants to respond to you and cry some more about how awful rangers are while they quietly work on it.

Get a cup to catch your tears. They’re probably thirsty, and this thread could hold the team over for quite a while! Might even get that update out sooner!

But don’t expect a response.

Guys stop waste time and gold to playing this useless class.
If you reroll another class you will see the really difference and how ranger class is broken

EDIT: example: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Mesmer-solo-s-WvW-Tower

This guy knows whats up. Stop waiting on a fix that isn’t coming. The class is just horribly designed, broken beyond repair. They have made it perfectly clear that they intend to focus on buffing the useful classes, so you might as well just go ahead and reroll. Quit lying to yourselves.

Thank you, I have seen the light random forum guy!

You’re obviously a prophet of great renown knowing both the future and the truly sinister intentions of Anet (despite the lack of any evidence to that charge) better then us mere mortals.

I will proceed on your beset to delete my ranger and make a wa—nope. Going to log onto ranger. Gonna have a good time. Do several dungeons, some WvW…

You know, that stuff rangers apparently suck at and shouldn’t be doing.
