I like how all of them are uniform now, but eh… I kinda wish all aura’s looked like the old fire aura, but with different colors/effects.
At least Arcane Shield still looks cool.
(Please don’t take that way)
Joshing around on another thread aside, yes. It’s a fantastic outfit and I wish I could afford the bundle.
I could break the bank and maybe get the outfit alone, but that pupper is a hard thing to pass up and it is a good deal…
I also want the UB gathering tools but if I chased both I’d be dead broke for real. My materials tab would be empty and I would be sad.
I don’t even want the entire UB tools bundle, I just want one, maybe two. I hope they sell them as individual pieces sometime.
But I digress. The outlaw outfit is really well done and I want to pick one up sometime.
Sword + Axe in PvE is your “tear all the mobs to shreds” option. It’s a lot of fun.
Thanks to the recent maul buff to GS 2 though, you can chain maul and get similar damage in an arc VS AoE.
Both are really good options for mobbing and general PvE. For WvW roaming, I love Sword + Torch.
GS has obvious utility and the potential to do some nice spike damage, but Sword + Axe or Torch really deliver consistent and predictable DPS you can rely on.
Sword + Dagger is evades for days, but that one takes practice VS GS. Fantastic in PvP/WvW though if you get it down.
If you have the poison trait paired with it, you can ruin sustain builds with it.
I don’t generally pair Sword + Warhorn as I see that more useful for Axe MH… but I guess you could use it to blast fields and maintain regen on yourself and friends with the warhorn train.
Of course, you can’t discount the supreme satisfaction of summoning a kettle of hawks to eat your enemies face regardless of the MH choice.
That’s just fun for the sake of it.
Do you really want nothing over something? :/
This. +1
WTF is with this mindset? Are some of you that broken? Who hurt you? lol
It’s high noon somewhere in the world.
But how do you tell if high noon is the same brightness as midnight?
You mean high moon? Next Halloween, partner.
It’s high noon somewhere in the world.
but if gw2 is dead… WHO WAS DOOR?
Aneth pls, I like trenchcoats and kool stuff. Not be listen to tastless plebian kthx.
(BTW ty for outlaw outfit, i <3 u aneth)
No guild should charge people an entry fee to join. That’s wrong. Conversely no one should pay to join a guild. That’s stupid.
Don’t be stupid. There are morally bankrupt people in the world, and they have no qualms with exploiting you.
Story spoilers ahead. Also, I probably went over my 75 word limit. I am sorry. Communication is hard.
I was kinda hoping it really was a mostly-complete Lazarus who honestly mellowed out over time and used the massive bloodstone reserve to “complete” himself.
The plot-twist being that it was really Balthazar though, was a really crazy one! Why is he being crazy?
How did he go from being humanities champion in war and battle to being a power hungry megalomaniac that would sooner destroy his own subjects and the entire world just to… ????
It really doesn’t make sense right now.
As a human, did I really just sorta side with the elder dragons over the god of war? Kasmeer had the most human reaction in all of this as a faith based person.
Mind you I can appreciate the commander being pragmatic about the whole thing and doing what needs to be done, but even so, it feels like there was no major difference in dialogue between any other race and humans.
Even if I’m being pragmatic about it, there still has to be a substantial reaction to this major revelation that as a human my freakin’ gods are betraying me or at least throwing me under the bus in pursuit of their own interests.
Guess the charr are right after all.
He didn’t expect the Commander to be a completely insane idiot.
Jokes on you, ghosty tree people think I’m the coolest.
I’ll take his cat. I’m in my home instance for like ~5 mins when I show up, I don’t mind the kitty cats.
As a proponent of the SoTW staying unblockable, that it was changed… doesn’t really bother me that much. It stinks, sure, but like… meh. I still have RaO.
It wasn’t an end all be all issue for me. No salt for you. Shoo.
Swoooord. But I guess I wouldn’t mind GS or spear on land. That’d be alright.
The pet changes are fantastic! Wyverns are so quick now, they can compete with drakes. It was much needed. Thank you Anet.
Everything got buffed. Today is a good day to be an ele.
Unless you raid…which I don’t so I don’t care! ELES WERE BUFFED!!!!
If you wvw the ideal of dmg staff ele died today.
If you have only core ele its unplayable because ele is pure support and with out tempest line your wasting your time.
So GOD IS DEAD. (not to say they did not exist at one point but i think they where epi to death because they where standing too close to a “door” in wvw.)
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/A-response-to-Karl-s-Epidemic-CommentJust how did staff ele die in WvW? Universal cool down reductions on survival utility skills, cool downs reduced on a lot of great staff skills and the meteor nerf was only against NPC. Now I know some players are worse than NPCs but they can still be hit multiple times a second, the 0.5s cool down doesn’t apply.
A few things power dmg over all in wvw is all but dead and they are not going to fix epi at all and when you even talk about it you get a black out from anet it self. So any thing that weakens ele dmg out put (as ele is mostly power) is another kick in the gut for a lot of old ele players.
Ele was one of the only classes who could counter siege with out the need of siege making it so it was harder to bunker with siege. See metor is not truly random it falls in clusters and due to the aoe of each “rock” it would hit the same siege but now only 1 of there “rocks” will hit. Cutting down the over all dmg to ele for its main use in wvw if its power dmg aimed.
Also at the end of the day the “buffs” to cdr for wepon skill is just putting back the lost 0f 13% cdr that ele lost when they changed the effect from 33% to 20%. That and what the point of living or being able to live when your dmg out put means nothing over all.
Yes d/d ele got a buff but staff dmg ele was nerfed the main reason why ppl play mages classes. Ele over all not realty a mages class any more and THAT is the reason why “GOD IS DEAD.”
You’re dead. Probably a lot.
If you’re staff in WvW and not zerg healing, I have to tell you, your DPS was never that great after the Tornado exploit rework for anyone with two brain cells to rub together.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news there.
Don’t get me wrong in a group/zerg set up staff ele is still absolutely fantastic at area denial and pressure. But without a group, you’re not anything special.
If you’re really good you can be a slippery troll I guess by constantly resetting the fight? You’re not actually going to kill anyone competent 1vX though.
If you’re roaming, you’re much better served going dagger or scepter. Last I checked, scepters are pretty mage like if you’re worried about your magus A E S T H E T I C.
(And to kittens with traditional roles anyway, daggers for ele’s in GW2 are awesome. I’ll be a magical dagger mage if I want to be and you can’t stop me.)
Everything got buffed. Today is a good day to be an ele.
Unless you raid…which I don’t so I don’t care! ELES WERE BUFFED!!!!
I mean I don’t have 130+ LI for your PUG demands, but yeah, I raid with my raiding guild and fill in a spot for DPS or druid now and then.
Ele’s still meta there regardless. So… I don’t see what you’re trying to say. It was objectively a good balance update for ele’s.
Try being happy sometimes. It helps with that whole ‘life’ thing.
Everything got buffed. Today is a good day to be an ele.
Was it that hard to say this earlier? You’ve really wasted so much of peoples time and energy by not saying this earlier.
You should have said this before!!!
I’m glad I used 8 hours of PTO (paid time off) to play the new raid wing today.
Yup.
Had my entire day ruined sitting around waiting for any info at all, now my entire week is off schedule. If you have a problem or messed up at least admit to it so people can move on with their days/lives thanks.
Maybe you should’ve made this statement about 4h ago ,speaking as an EU player
Well again they did announce first an initial delay (as pointed out by Ayrilana) and after working at it all day, it’s just not going to happen. Ergo this statement here.
They’re working on it even now. What happened was out of their power. Try to be a little understanding. They can’t control the weather.
So what you guys going to do for the players? What we getting ? some gems would be nice :P
Hahahahaa… you’re not serious with this, are you?
_
Thanks Anet. You guys take care and stay warm.
Oh ok, there is no proof in his post, there is clearly a lack there of, and if we go with his argument, Anet has recently as in the last couple Quarters been quick to fix patch note and Tool Tip discrepancies. So the lack of then doing that points even further to it being a bug.
I agree with this, Anet have been quicker to fix these things than they used to be. Look, I’m not arguing for or against this being a bug or not, all I asked for was some official response on the matter.
For example:
FYI the unblockable portion is a confirmed bug. ANET did not allow rangers to use it during the most recent TOL.
I’d like to see the official info about this, if available. Don’t mistake my request for info as a for or against argument.
The best that can be found on this unless Devs stated on anything on Reddit for the ToL, Edit here is the Link
Well, as long as we’re being pedants about everything it should be said that this is not an official statement.
That’s a call by the tournament sponsors on account that the SoTW change isn’t a patch note, ergo, ‘unintended’.
The fact that the tournament sponsors had to make such a call means they don’t know if it’s intended or not and err’d on the side of caution.
It follows that if there was a patch note or mention by an official source as a change to the skill’s function, it likely wouldn’t have been banned from use.
Until we get official word, who’s to say it’s not simply an undocumented change?
But seriously… most people here aren’t arguing the semantics of the change being classified as a bug. The change intended or otherwise, adds something new to the skill.
IMO, it’s on the level of a minor QoL thing. I like it. But I certainly don’t believe 8 seconds of utility on a ~52-60 sec CD is OP.
You sacrifice the passive on top of all that, and it has a huge tell. Literally.
A giant Mario coin pops up over your enemy’s head basically begging you “interrupt me!!” and failing that, you can tell the person is unblockable because they hulked out.
Failing all that, it’s in their status bar and counting to 8 isn’t very hard. You don’t have to agree with me and you’re free to argue it’s OP as it is.
But no one here except you is honestly arguing on the semantics of it’s classification and that’s a foolish place to make your stand because we simply don’t know.
Unless you’re going to follow up with official word from Anet, I’d suggest a more practical argument that isn’t grounded in baseless conjecture.
Catching people with it unaware is the most OP thing about it. Make it a patch note so everyone knows it can do this and it’s suddenly not a problem.
8 seconds of utility on a 60 sec cooldown (while sacrificing the passive) really isn’t OP. It’s honestly a nice QoL buff and it’ll be a real shame to see it reverted.
Metabattle is more of a guideline than an actual rule to abide by. If you’re familiar with the class you play, you can be more creative.
If it’s a class you never play then it is better that you remain conservative and follow the meta more closely.
DPS ele is alright. I’ve seen people make it work.
But in the current meta, the vast majority of players (your teammates) will assume you’re meta and will go into the game with that mindset (assuming you’re in a rank where they actually give a kitten).
As a class that is generally expected to take care of itself and others, going in as glass will always prove difficult.
You will generally not have any real support from your team and once the enemy figures out you are glass… well. Don’t expect to win 1v1’s
A glass staff ele can be a great +1 to mid fights, but say against a rev or a thief 1v1, I don’t think you’re going to out-glass better players of those classes.
I might try it myself. I was running a glass staff off-season to great effect most games.
If the weekend players are done and I still end up tanking, I might see about it for a few games.
DPS elementalist, both with dagger, scepter and staff isn’t alright because other professions with the same stats will do much more than the dps ele. So it’s not balanced.
You should really fact check your numbers before saying its dps spec is lower damage. Hint; it isn’t.
I didn’t mean dps ele has low damage, I meant that other professions can also deal high damage faster while maintaining tons of survavibility.
Yah. Kinda figured.

The OP clearly stated
Warrior runes give vitality, power, and -20% weapon swap (for eles this would be attunement swap).
Last I heard, the final bonus of that rune does nothing for ele attunement swapping.
That could have changed between then and now, but I’d imagine someone would have said something about it. It’d be borderline OP/is OP and that’s why it doesn’t work.
Thought that was pretty obvious, perhaps not.
Small updates might be updates and they might be good for what they are. They still are not even close to being what people are asking for when they want an actual expansion.
You should inform yourself. They’ve already released an expansion. It’s a safe bet they intend to do it again.
The Living World is not a traditional expansion so much as something that bridges us between them. They’re offered for free. They’re not the same thing.
That’s why what you originally insinuated doesn’t follow. I mean I know you’re trying to play gotcha with me, but you could at least try a little harder.
People are not talking about Open World PvP when they mention dueling. Pretty much nothing more and nothing less than Costume Brawl with normal skills and weapons.
So in other words, yes. You are talking about open world PvP. Cooler people then me have already linked the quote with regards to open world PvP.
I did misquote it, for that I apologize. They’re not ‘100% against it’. It’s not likely though. So you’ll have to deal with it.
You can get some of that experience from WvW roaming. It’s your killzones from Runescape, those areas you can’t travel through safely.
Because some PK randy and friends might show up and kick your teeth in.
Or hotjoin. Because there are plenty of 1v1 arenas. I can open the menu and pull a screen with confidence.
Everyone else is either also dueling or watching. There’s your audience.
We can agree to disagree, I suppose. Don’t really see a reason why people should “deal with it” instead of voicing their concerns and opinions.
Because some things can be changed and other things cannot.
Those things that can be changed should absolutely see debate. Some things are settled and it does no good to argue the issue.
I wonder if you’d also say nobody should ask for another expansion since we already have the rare Living Story updates.
That doesn’t follow.
Having to go to a dedicated servers that locks you away from everyone while you participate in your duels is not the same. That is stuff that I do to practice against my friends or other people.
It is still not what we are talking about. Doesn’t allow you to duel while you are waiting for something or someone and allows only a very limited numbers of players to be on one server and has even less room for spectators.
Point is, you can duel. Just not in the way you’ve decided is acceptable to you.
You don’t want to duel in the way that it’s made possible. You want more of an open world thing, and Anet has already said they’re 100% opposed to the idea.
You’ll have to deal with it.
The ability to link any gear you can copy from the wiki is a very cheap version of an actual inspection feature. It comes with way more problems than inspection with the
added bonus of people using it to fake stuff. Nobody should be happy with it.
I can count on one hand the times anyone has tried to fake something for the purpose of getting into a gear check party.
It’s easy to tell when someone is trying to copy/paste gear or trophies, most of the variables are incorrect or might not even show up at all.
It’s a very good system. Most games don’t have something like it.
And again if it’s something needing such an amount of coordination, you’re better served getting on voice chat.
Pretty sure people imagine mounts to be a faster way of traveling than simple running. The toys are just a cosmetic thing. Don’t really care about mounts, but there is that.
No one wants P2W.
If the current mounts in game offered some kind of advantage over players who choose not to buy the mounts already in the game, people would lose their minds.
I propose the mounts should all have a skill that grants the swiftness buff to the user, being careful not to be better than the swiftness you can gain from weapons and traits.
Something like racial skills, but for the mounts that we already have in the game. And for future mounts that will be added to the game.
I don’t think anyone could have a problem with that, and the mounts that are already in the game will make you go faster.
Pretty cool, right?
Duels
Already a thing. The Hotjoin community is sad that you’re not utilizing the service they provide. You should go duel someone to apologize.
Inspections
Already a thing. Shift+click your gear. Very simple. You could also get on voice chat if this level of coordination is needed.
Vehicals
We have several. Could always use more. I want a charr motorcycle with cool jump on/jump off animations.
If you don’t agree with me, you possibly don’t play WvW/PvP too much, or you have a very good condition removal.
As a side note, before someone says I am “whining”, or think I am a Ranger hater, I’m not, my second main is a Ranger.
And your problem here, is..?
Ranger has some of the better condi removal in the game at present. Assuming the trait even procs correctly to begin with, really, just hit the vines.
Most classes end it early on accident with cleave. You’re one of them. It’s not very hard.
After the initial stealth-burst
I want Grounch start slaping some faces , when ppl start moaning about :
a) ‘’why in a 5v1 scenario last remaining enemy player starts LoSing-kitting all over the map for 10 min , causing a draw’’
b) And in the case they ajgust it either by making the team with the most damage or players alives to win :
‘’why company nerfed it …. and now in a 4v3 scenario the 4 players are doing the kiting , while the 3 dont have a chance…’’
:PAlso make it rigged , so you have to choose this or between Coliseum and 2 other maps and show us the results after 3 months :P
That’s why each round would last like 3-4 mins, team with the most members alive wins. And none of this “draw” business.
If both teams have an even number up it’s redone up to five times at which point if no one wins, everyone loses and the match counts as a defeat.
And yes, please slap them.

Chiming in to agree with Deathmatch idea with rounds, best 3 out of 5. No respawn/rez.
Keeps things organized while still keeping the pace going, without changing the original vision of the map which is to wipe out the enemy team.
And maybe make the place a little bigger. It was a very cramped, albeit beautiful map. Was always a fan of this one but I understood why it was removed from rotation.
A more structured mechanic like this would make it a treat to play and set the framework for newer maps in this vein.
Personally I think the overall size of the map was perfect, however I think the map design on that particular map is atrocious. It was so cluttered with random crap that it felt smaller than it really was.
Yeah, I guess. I get the walls and everything, it’s to LoS your enemies and vice versa. That’s a good thing.
No I agree with having line of sight on maps, I’m saying that particular maps design is poor.
I mean I’ve seen worse but yeah, it could use some touching up. I like big maps and I cannot lie.

It’s just in that endeavor, the map ends up feeling cramped, like you’re in a corridor. It’s a courtyard. It should be a little more spacious, but keeping that basic idea in mind.
It’s good to have stuff to hide behind.
It forces thinking and repositioning and God knows some of the players I get teamed up with could do to learn how to position themselves better.
But, yah… I also don’t want to fight in a corridor either. Something something wanting my cake and eating it.

The stealth duration of the skill is so short you can’t really capitalize on it.
2 secs of super speed would help with repositioning, and it’s not like it’s some major buff, just a small QoL thing.
For example if I’m running LB/GS, I might use hunters shot and then swap to GS and use untargeted swoop to generate some decent distance.
Likewise with sword 2 or staff 3 if I’m speced druid.
If hunters shot were given 2 secs of super speed to compliment the 2 secs of stealth, this wouldn’t affect that basic strat.
Super speed doesn’t give you extra distance on weapon skills.
It would only help the LB by itself be better at respostioning with the precious little stealth it gets. There’s no foul in that.
I’m okay with it being blockable. Personally, I’d like it to grant 2 seconds of Super Speed for repositioning.
Came into the thread thinking I agreed with OP, now I want this. Let it be blockable but if it hits, 2 secs of super speed for the stealth.
That would be awesome.
I’d like to see a trident user elite spec.
Range all over the place, from pbaoe to 1200 units.
Each element doing vastly different roles than other weapon sets. Water being the main dps/mobility an elementalist would stay in longer than other elements. The other elements being skills that overlap with the water skills to create special combos.
For example a certain air skill when comboed with a certain water skill would make a freeze happen. And a certain earth skill when comboed with a certain water skill would make mud based stuff happen. Fire+water make a smoke field. Stuff like that.
Trident on land would be a pretty cool melee/PbAoE spec. Sword, Trident, Spear.
The historian also, only changes appearance after you (SPOILERS) return to him from the Consortium Tradesman, which is also when you get the chance to lie to him and go back to LA to get the krait oil. This is very important, you as a character gets the chance to notice the very purposeful transformation on his appearance and either keep trusting it or dismiss him as a spy of sorts.
This is what I suspect, but I also don’t trust the Krait Oil salesman either.
So I’m just going to stick with seeing spooky ley line anomalies until I can get more information from the story or an official source.
If the NPC changing is simply an overlooked detail and it wasn’t supposed to happen, my choice is clear.
If these really are two different people, it’d be the height of gullibility/stupidity to let these Tranton doppelgangers mess with you.
So I’m just here with my completed shadowstone and all these ley line spooks wondering who I can trust and if this condition is going to get worse for me.
The spookiest part is someone asked a similar thing on Reddit and a dev did respond, but later deleted their post.
So yeah, I’m too suspicious to make a choice at this point.
My final state may be worse than my current one, and as long as it’s just seeing a spoopy ley person now and again I’m not too bothered.
But I mean if it get’s worse, like, I start randomly bleeding from my eyes and begin to go insane like the people exposed to the bloodstone explosion… I dunno.
Guess I’ll be forced to take a chance.
I made a post about it here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lwd/Spoilers-A-Commander-s-Conundrum
Keep your chin up. You and your friend will git gud some day, and then you’ll be embarrassed for this post.
I’d give the new elementalist elite spec spears on land.
This outfit however only has a male version (it removes female breasts too). So your female Charr has a male tail.
It doesn’t. The charr tail is a separate issue, but probably keeping with the aesthetic of the outfit (uniformity). CoF armor does the same thing for example.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Ghostly-outfit-male-version-for-everyone/6379334
You look at this persons forum history and this is literally their first post. I choose to believe this dude is committed to being a bundle of sticks with an alt account.
The alternative hurts my brain trying to make it make sense.
The reason why people get mad is because scepter is a broken mess of a weapon and all Anet ever does is the occasional trivial number tweak like giving shatterstone 10% more damage or adding a bonus hit that never hits on flamestrike.
OK.
Do you have proof of this?
No.
I understand what you’re asking, that it’s a masterwork shield with the ghastly skin. Maybe they closed it up as you said.
They can be pulled from the forge, but they are somewhere in the precursor level of rarity, so you should expect to get a precursor just as well as getting the skin you’re after.
In other words, not likely, else not without a large investment.
Nope. This time it was Ice Spike. And honestly, it’s pretty great.
I don’t get the bitterness associated with Shatterstone. It’s never been substantial or anything, but it was a buff… and some folks are… upset about that? lol
Ghostly outfit: male version for everyone?
Yes. Though you can distinguish male from female. There just isn’t much of a difference. I’m pretty sure that is by design, the aesthetic the outfit was going for.
Your generous norn bosom isn’t going to be best showcased in this particular outfit. More Sheik from LoZ, less Morrigan from Darkstalkers.

What’s prolly going to happen is a baseline nerf so severe that the healing power buff will heal for less than prepatch
Quite possible.
I’m willing to bet that at say 500-600 healing power, we will heal for far less than what is the case today, and that you need somewhere in the range of 900-1000 to break even post patch. Above that we might see a minor increase.
I doubt it’ll be far less.
You’ll need some healing power as opposed to builds who can run with zero and still be fairly effective.
I’m thinking people at 500-600 will be fine. Either no difference or perhaps even a small buff? I’m an optimist.
You are not doing something silly like adding it to your weapon and testing it in spvp are you?
i wanted to use it for pve…but i was testing on the pvp dummies…the thing is that i dont see the chill proc
Silliness confirmed. Try the Lion’s Arch Aerodrome training area or the fractal hub.
