Interesting you think Kain had a fully queue zerg on KNBL for hours? More like brief queue when RE was their before swapping to EB. Kain rarely has queues during NA time. Thought you would have realized that by our outstanding points per tick during NA time.

Dii, CNB, and loads of pugs. RE was there earlier, but they peaced it. I never said it was all RE, just that there were at least 50+ to our 15-20.

Idk where these 50+ plus where O_O because they were not with us at WK. Dii has maybe 5 WvW members, CNB at that moment we had maybe 10 of us. RE was not present, if there were it was random RE ppl most certainly not their zerg or even commander. Then there were other random guilds and what not. Kaineng never has ques for BL’s. Randomly we will, when literally are WHOLE population has to be on KBL just to handle the other servers numbers. Even on reset night NO QUES. You guys certainly had more than 20. More like 30ish to our 30-40, I have a video of the battle ^^ When we took it, it seemed like majority of you got bored and moved on. From the start it was most certainly not a 50 v 15-20. When we took it, it was probably a 30 v 20.

Not to mention the amount of AC’s, but we are not QQing. Don’t misjudge. We made a bad mistake with trying to push through a choke point. Clearly a bad move on our point and I am sure your badges can oblige. Honestly we were hitting a wall with that keep due to not being able to get though you and your siege. Finally we chose to open more walls making it more of an open field battle which worked. But as I said it seemed like quite a few of you had left by that point. You guys held those keeps very well and got A LOT of farming out of us through them, this we know. lol Yet you were just running into the group of Kainengs who don’t like to give up. So your welcome for all those badges. haha

We had 3 ACs at first, iirc, and then two fell to the trebs and broken wall. I don’t remember being that many of us – we turtled inside the keep because our numbers weren’t large enough to wipe the full KN zerg and because we wanted to farm badges. That would be why you rolled over a few of us on the plateau those two times. We honestly didn’t have more than 20 people for any of the meaningful engagements, though.

Tbh, I only ever see CHIPS running the Dii tag, but his badges are more delicious than most.

The advantage of being on a small guild is that we always gets more badges than we give out.

Maguuma – the only server that posts screenshots when they kill the enemy commander.

He’s not just any enemy commader, he’s a friend and ex guild mate that switch servers from Magumma to Kaineng for a situation that could have been resolved. So yea posting a screenshot of killing him in wvw on the wvw forums should be ok.

There’s nothing wrong with a little bit of friendly competition.

Considering that WM attracted guilds to Kaineng to bring us from T8 to T2 and Magumma being a persistent T3 despite SO MANY CLAIMS of guilds beating them and claiming to be better … the facts does not match.

(1) All the uber guilds of Magumma could not bring the server up from T3.

(2) Every week, the said guilds struggle in the matchup against a weakened Kaineng.

(3) WM is welcomed by any T1 server and they would pay all the gems they want to join their server, how many guilds in Magumma are so desired ?

(4) WM is fighting in Tier 1 against the most skilled and proven guilds / commanders in GW2, the said guilds are still languishing here in Magumma.

I’m too poor to transfer to the illustrious t1, where 100% of skilled played reside. Please send me 50 gold so I can fulfill my dream of rubbing elbows with The Elite Poopsockers.

Talk to your guild leader. I am sure you guys had been approached by some tier 1 server, but you guys rejected. Money aren’t an issue.

All signs pointed to PYRO on the edge of transferring to tier 1 last week, until that new matches update announcement from Anet. With that new update, I can see why no one wants to transfer right now. If tier 1 servers are offering PYRO gems, I am sure they are offering D/ERP also.

If you want a server that got almost zero queue times in NA or EU prime time, consider Kaineng. Even on reset nights we only got queue in one of the four maps. On the weekdays we pretty much never have queues.

Edit: I just read your play hours of 4am-6pm. That’s Oceanic to EU time. You might want to consider a British server. We do have some great Oceanic guilds in Kaineng but English might be a problem.

We didn’t get any response from any Yak’s representative, so we will assume that the truce is no-go. So everyone play as you were. Let’s fight as hard as we can before we part.

Neither this match or rating will mean anything come next week. The only thing left is to hand Maguuma their first lost in weeks. I purposed a truce between Kaineng and Yak this week, and team up to take everything that Mag have. What say you? If you agree, I will let everyone know and we will start this truce on Sunday or earlier.

Here is how it works:
-EB: Attack your side of Maguuma’s towers constantly. Leave Kaineng alone. Kaineng will only attack SMC if it is in Maguuma’s hands. Vice Versa.
-Maguuma BL: Attack your side of Maguuma’s towers constantly. Leave Kaineng alone. Vice Versa.
-Yak’s BL: Defend your towers against Maguuma. Kaineng will only attack those southern towers if they are already in Maguuma’s hands. If a Yak’s zerg comes to take that tower, Kaineng will waypoint out and let Yak take it. If a Maguuma zerg comes, Kaineng will defend.
-Kaineng BL: Similar to Yak’s BL.

We are open to any additional tactical requests that you see fit. If Yak’s wishes, we can even use the same Teamspeak to coordinate better.

This is just an idea I am thinking about. Under the new system an tier 4 server might be matched with a tier 1 server. Once the tier 1 server execute its number and coverage advantage, and fortifies and sieges up absolutely every single tower on all 4 maps, the WvW is pretty much over for the week. Back to PvE people go.

With the new AC buff, fortified towers defended by a bigger zerg is totally impenetrable by a smaller zerg.

So would it be a good idea to deny any tower upgrades and camp upgrades for the #1 seed server of that match up? That way, at least the towers and keep will stay paper for the whole week, giving the smaller server a chance to do something.

I doubt the #1 seed in that match up will complain much.

That pretty much sums up the new system. I think we’re done here.

I think it is actually a great learning opportunity for us if we get put together with 2 tier 1 servers. We won’t have to worry about the score at all, since it is obviously pointless in that kind of match up. Worst case we can always stack everyone together into just one borderland. It will be a fair 70vs70 fight.

Whoa we did it. We came back and took 2nd place. All that hard work from everyone paid off. We tried our best to cut our loses in NA prime time and let the Oecanic win points for us. It was a bloody and sweaty week for all of us and I am so proud of all of you right now. /emo-tear

Please change the gem cost for transfers to depend on “server WvW rank” instead of “server population”. That way at least lower tier servers can recruit some new players to come over.

Score update. Our Oceanic crew often erase a 4,000 point deficit over night. Yesterday they must have worked extra hard and almost erased an 7,000 point deficit between Kaineng and Yak’s. Its very close now.

If only we can get our players more organized, and get a few more NA & EU players here, we can cause some serious damage.

I also got a message for Yak’s. How do you guys feel about a general server merge? You guys have a great NA presence, but lacks Oceanic. We have a great Oceanic presence, but lacks NA. If we combine we will become one single great server. We enjoyed how nice you guys are on the forums, so I think we will get along just fine.

How’d Maguuma make 2 people’s lists? Aren’t they losing some large guild called [PYRO] this very week?

JQ has been in Tier 1… forever, I guess? But they did get transfers into and out of the server pretty steadily. Still, if by “stability” you mean where they stand in the rankings, I would say JQ and SoR belong on the list, as Rank 4 is pretty much a worst case scenario for each of those servers. Same for BG, really. TC has also been in Tier 2 for a very, very long, so I suppose they belong on the list.

But yeah, it’s really hard to predict reliably how stable any server is after they’ve taken first place in Tier 1; I mean, if this survey had been done in December or January, SoS probably would’ve made a few people’s lists! A month earlier than that, and very few people could have predicted that SBI would implode the way they did. Now that free transfers are over there is a little more stability than before, but it’s really hard to predict what’s going to happen to each server.

Wow… I just went back to that thread for the first time since posting that, and I can’t believe how EVERYONE in this thread latched on to that one, off-topic line about one guild from Maguuma possibly transferring (it’s even in the form of a question!) Anyway, I was just trying to make a point about how hard it is to predict where any NA server will be a few months from now, not about where any particular guilds are going.

It isn’t about personality. It is about the nemesis’s philosophies. In most NA games the foe lacks any sort of philosophy. They are evil for the sake of being evil.

I started to wonder about the lore behind Sylvari who became pirates. They obviously do not follow Ventari’s teachings, and are no longer part of the Grove. At the same time they don’t seem to be following the Nightmare Court.

So what’s the deal with them? Are Sylvari capable of forming their own opinions outside of both the Grove and the Nightmare Court?

I notice that games made in North American cultures usually have nemesis are purely evil for the sake of being evil. Like you have this evil dark lord that is out to kill everyone. There is absolutely no reasoning with him, so heros need to stop him.

When you look at games from Japanese cultures on the other hand, the nemesis are not purely evil for the sake of being evil. They actually have a philosophy. They will have a different way of seeing the world, very different from the main character. The nemesis would usually have a long conversation with the main character to express their view on things. But it is still up to the hero to stop them from their twisted ways and logics.

NA version: They abandoned Ventari teaching for no reason. Now they are just purely evil and wants to kill everyone.

Japanese version: They abandoned Ventari’s teachings for very valid reasons. And they explained it very clearly: They want to protect and preserve nature from the other 4 races.

Long story short, we would like to apologize to any small guilds or individual players who felt that they are left out. We are well aware that you are an important part of our WvW efforts.

Current situation is we can no longer rely on elite players, commanders and guilds. They had moved on, chasing their dreams. The current Kaineng is a tier 8 population server hanging on to dear life in tier 3.

The only solution: We need absolutely everyone to be elite and form an elite fighting force.

We need absolutely the whole server to coordinate. We need absolute everyone on ts. We need absolutely everyone to listen to and obey commanders. We need everyone to be of elite level of teamwork to win.

For example, SoR’s Teamspeak is currently the 2nd most active TS3 server in America, and 10th world wide. They won tier 1 last week. They had achieve what we wanted for Kaineng: Total 100% teamwork and coordination within a server.

If you guys do not use TS, do not listen to and obey commanders, and do not eventually gain an elite level of teamwork, we got no chance in tier 3. Just look at our current score and you know I speak the truth.

It’s not that we dislike or don’t care about the EU ladder, it’s that most of us simply aren’t exposed to it, or bother to keep up to date on unfamiliar realms. I’m sure the same is true of many people on the other side of the ol’ pond.

If you’re from EU and keep track of the silly things that go on in the NA ladder, more power to ya. But don’t hate for no reason at all.

I heard players in EU are much better quality overall than NA. EU players tend to be more mature and take the time to understand what the commander is trying to say.

What EU server lacks is coverage. No one in Asia can speak French or German, for example. And the server lag is greater for Asians in EU than NA, so Asians tend to stay in NA.

Whoa you listed kaineng as stable. Interesting, if there was a listing of most unstable servers I would say it would rank high on that list, if not top it. I can probably name only handful of players on this server that are consistent wvwer and been with this server from the start. Unfortunatly, the bandwagoner/ instant win kids whatever you want to call them did a lot of damage to this server. Many of the originals left kaineng when they started to arrive due to just steamrolling opponents and now many of those guilds left when we couldn’t steam roll opponents anymore.

Be proud that Kaineng is a tier 8 population server that is some-what surviving in tier 3, due purely to player skills and coordination. And no matter what happens in the future, be proud that we all became better players individually by playing in this server. Because no one can take away your personal skills and experience.

Either way, I am glad to see tier 3 having a chance to stablize. The total domination by Maguuma every day is not fun for anyone, winner or loser alike.

Say what you want but our community is pretty stable, I’m not saying we are the most stable out there but a lot of the players on this server love maguuma, and even if there guild transfers, a majority of their players won’t go because they have made this server there home for quite some time now, and we are not doing anything other then playing the way we always have so us ‘demolishing’ the tier isn’t because of us but because of lack of other servers participation however this does not belong in this thread, but in our matchup thread, my apologies. Its based on the fact that neither PYRO or D/ERP has publicly deny that they are moving. That means that they either is moving, or they are seriously thinking about it.

I imagine the lack of competition on the weekly score is a problem. And that slow climb to tier 2 is another problem. As it stand right now, Maguuma stands to “break even” in the ratings, although their score is much higher. It will take literally forever to climb to tier 2 for them.

But to be fair, no guild can guarantee that they are staying. Its got a lot to do with what the membership wants, not what the leader wants. I had seen first hand where guilds would promise to stay, and then 2 days later they are gone. So why bother promising anything?

I think I’ll post my time on kaineng, I transferred maybe a month ago to the server to play more Spvp with some friends and because their guild ran zerg buster, kaineng dropped into mag’s tier the next week. I expected to be called a spy, once or twice, people to be hesitant and I play EU time, which is a pretty weak spot in most server’s timezones, maybe I’d have been a godsend, a disgusting godsend maybe but a godsend none the less.

My first day on in this tier went okay, I started off roaming in EB, and then some people started to follow me shrug So I pop my tag on and start leading an attack, great! Actually being able to do stuff on one of the first days I joined the server! 5 minutes later some great person spams, iirc the following in chat ‘’COLHEARTH IS MAG SPY DON’T FOLLOW OR U DIE’’ Okay…I was kind of expecting something similiar to happen so I tried to explain that I’m not a spy and if I wanted to spy why would I wear my darp tag with my icon on, at which point I was told I was a terrible spy….Thanks. At any rate map chat became a roar of ‘’Dat colherth is an spy’’ So I lost anyone following me and turned my tag off…How open of kaineng to accept transfers, transfers who hadn’t moved server since bwe1 and had purely played wvw for over a thousand hours, man.
Rinse and repeat, I joined this server to help out, I couldn’t care less about the score and all I wanted were some good fights against some buds, I managed to get one or two fights before being ousted as the worst spy in the history of forever. The same happened my whole time on kaineng, I decided it was time to transfer home when I got mass reported by XF for being a spy and using up supply and buying upgrades we didn’t need….while dancing, while they were near and insulted me for dancing….
Even though I was already here, I would have stayed if I’d enjoyed it more than mag, I get ousted, someone with more experience than most of your pugs. Even though I was a turn coat my guild funded my return, thanks <3

PS kaineng, you have the worst intercommunication I’ve ever seen. You need to work on that…Seriously.

So, KN is a cesspool of bile and hatred and the sooner they fall to T4 the better. Got it. Yet Maguuma is always poked at for having a “malicious” community. Tbh, Mag has one of the best, if not THE best, WvW communities of any server. All the guilds know each other, are friendly with each other, and work together. It’s part of the reason why we’re one of the more stable servers in the game.

Yeah. I am sure Mag will be just fine after you guys move to tier 1.

It appears mag is trying to artificially boost Kain to rank 2 past Yaks. I say this because Mag has been attacking only Yak territory while ignoring Kain territory. So much so that Kain is pushing into Mag territory with zero resistance.
On Kain BL mag has skipped their own greenlake tower and went straight to take redbriar from Yaks. A little while later Mag is sitting on all Yaks territory in EB while ignoring Kain’s side of EB completely.

Yaks and Kain were tied this morning with 270 pts each tick and as of now Kain is at 230pts (Mag has to have SM) and Yaks is as low as 125 pts. Our populations are of comparable size but Mag is chewing up Yaks while propping up Kain.

We focus YB 100% of the time, obvs.

That screenshot is old, 3-4 days old. Just look at the points, this screenshot was taken when Mag had just gotten far ahead of the other two worlds, at the time when the southsun event started. So it’s no surprise that servers can take everything.

I’m talking about today, the last day before reset. Mag slammed Yaks this morning and virtually ignored Kain.

Take it from a maguuma commander; You need a new reason to justify your score. This isn’t picking on the weak guy.
To the rest of the guys in Yaks, keep bringing it, and don’t let this guy dictate how your server rolls.

I’m just saying it was a little too coincidental given the circumstances and kain losing ground to yaks but yaks losing all other ground to mag. If Yaks is pushing back Kain with ease, and Kain still has a ton of territory, I don’t see why Mag wouldn’t just swoop in and take it all.

Mag capped 60% of Yak territory in a few hours and didn’t even touch Kain territory during that time ._.

Ya who Mag picks on is out of both of our hands. Whoever Mag wants to take 2nd place will take 2nd place it seems. We have no control over our fates. Feels like a puppet.

With the recent events happening with Jade Quarry and possibly being the next high tier server to implode, has Maguuma started receiving inquiries regarding their server. I know some are flocking to DB, but since you guys are winning by a lot you may be the next server for the bandwagoners. Lord knows they don’t bandwagon to losing servers to try balance things out.

According to the tier 1 thread, PYRO is moving to BG or JQ within 2 weeks.

Not to tear open old wounds here, but I wanted to try an clear up some confusion about the Wär situation and the exit of Zero, as I think my exasperation with the concept of guild missions certainly did not help the situation.

Wär is and likely will always be a WvW focused guild, however once guild missions came out, those of us (basically me), realized there was some benefit to doing the missions, not just for the ascended gear, but for the one day when inevitably the Anet folks decided to add in something that took guild commendations that would benefit players in WvW.

Obviously getting anyone to participate was a chore, as most if not all of us found them dull and uninspired, and the vast majority of the guild didn’t even have world completion. Yet more of us would run them with other guilds, because you could get personal rewards repping any guild.

Since they came out, it has been nightmarish convincing people to come to do the missions, and those that do come get punished and spend even longer on them, because of those that choose not to do them, for perfectly legitimate reasons (like they are not really any fun).

I have continue to hold out that people will see the value in sacking an hourish a week on these to build up commendations for future use (banners/whatever new comes out), and to help attract players to the guild who may not like PVE, but like ascended gear.

Unfortunately, even with the return of some older members who were taking a break, and new influx members into the guild, the missions still continue to flouder with attendence, even with the support of some helpful folks from other guilds who run them with us and their normal guild.

Zero never really cared to do missions, and while that isn’t that big a deal to me, as I understand his dislike of them, it set an example that the officership of the guild (at least to some degree) didn’t support the missions. This punished the few of us trying to tow the line.

No reason to discuss the night he left in detail, but I would imagine tempers were high, and things were said/done that people likely would have rather taken back. The circumstances were not a unique situation though. Guild missions being a “requirement” are like mumble and full rep in WvW. You can only “require” so much of online people before a fun guild becomes a horrible dictatorship.

My personal frustration at trying to do these missions with so few people and with so little support I am sure contributed to what went down that evening, though I again wouldn’t have supported demotion (as it symbolically is offensive, and in reality is nearly meaningless).

Zero supported the guild and was a good all around commander and player as far as I could tell. I am not nearly as active as most, but I personally had no issue with him, as he support the guild with siege, money, and was a positive influence in bringing in folks from WvW.

In retrospect, I wish the systems in game allowed WvW players to ignore tedius PVE details (at least at a guild level). Saddly that is not the case now, and if the guild doesn’t come together for the tedium, it is hard to come together in WvW. I think if the guild missions represented a significant time investment I could have understood Zero’s position, but it just seemed so out of character to me that he chose to never participate.

I never intended that folks blow up on the forums over this event, and since I have been the honorary PVE coordinator since these darn missions came out, I accept a lot of the blame for what happened. The bad blood happens when people leave, and I am sure I will spike zero if I get the chance, but in reality, I do not think there is nearly as much bad blood as people believe. I am sure he will be happy with his new guild and I wish him the best.

I say this with an honest, open heart: Any NA guilds looking for a new home need to move to Kain. We’re just a few guilds short (on their side) of this being the matchup we’ve been looking from. Yak’s could use some oceanic bolstering too I guess, but i don’t like to share the loot.

Yaks need Eurozone players more. Kain needs a bit more balance all around. Mag definitely doesn’t need a new wave, they are still over bloated from the last bandwagon.

If only Yaks can Kain can combine somehow, we would really be going places.

Then add 1 or 2 EU guilds and we would be tier 2 ready.

Also, I won 4 battles and lost 0, without changing my weapons, armor, or traits. In fact, I think I only used my heal in one battle. I’d say that’s statistically significant, with a p of 0.01.

I didn’t watch the whole thing. I only watched Zero’s fight. Either way four is still statically insignificant. It is a shame that we of Kaineng do not have time to continue the experiment to prove you wrong. Our forces were needed elsewhere to save towers. We just got too few people for any extracurricular activities.

So this means that:

-The guild mission of WaR is indeed mandatory, because 3 guild leaders and an officer said “Show up or you will get punished.”
-You feel WaR is a carefree guild.

I personally do not see how “mandatory guild missions” and a “carefree guild” can go hand in hand. Look:

An officer (Zero) was threatened with punishment, and then actually punished, because he refused to do guild missions. This all occurred in public mumble with 50+ people (many non-guild members) because the guild leadership wants to publicly humiliate Zero.

So my point still stands. I don’t know how your guild WaR operates. But it sickens me just hearing how your guild treats an officer while he was still serving.

I recommend that you reevaluate what you want and what your guild wants, and then decide if you want to stay or leave.

there actually was some resistance at first, until you wiped once and then vanished. you had plenty of supply to use to build arrowcarts and defensive siege that would have ANNIHILATED the group that took your keep (twice).

It wasn’t just that one garrison though. It was all 4 maps. We had +0 points. That means Maguuma must have vastly outnumbered and out-coveraged Kaineng.

A carefree guild should NEVER have any mandatory events, neither pve or wvw. By definition WaR is no longer a carefree guild.

You said so yourself earlier that you do not like to be bossed around and forced to follow rules.

Solution: You should quit your WaR. Its not the ideal guild for you.
