I’ll second that OP. Best MMO community ever.
You should get at least an item of the same quality or one above of the four you placed in the MF.
It is a bug.
Well, I’ve just checked the skill description and it doesn’t say that it’s a 50/50 chance so it could be that the tornado is not as common as juggernaut.
“Drink Elixir X, becoming a rampaging brute or whirling tornado. Underwater become either a withering plague or a whirlpool.”
If it is a bug or intended feature only the devs can say.
There’s a trait in Inventions that reduces damage dealt to turrets by 30%.
I’ve seen a lot of people that there’s no incentive to join guilds in this game. Well here’s your incentive. Join a guild and run dungeons in the blink of an eye.
Don’t wanna join a guild in a game called GUILD Wars 2? Well then get used to spam map chat and run dungeons with PUGs.
The moment they do this will be the beginning of the end to me. That dungeon finder was horrible and destroyed any sense of community and socialization.
No thanks.
Yes I run an engineer with a rifle and no toolkits in open world PVE and it’s pretty viable.
In dungeons I use P/S and grenades tho.
If you press the button to deploy a turret and immediately dodge the turret won’t be deployed but it will trigger the cool down. It happened to me yesterday when I accidentally double tapped a movement key.
As for Elixir X, it is a 50/50 but it doesn’t mean it will trigger 5/10. If you toss a coin in the air it’s a 50/50 chance for each side but you can get heads or tails 10 times in a row.
I miss it so much that if it wasn’t for this topic I wouldn’t even remember it’s not there.
And the low level zones will be flooded by high level players trying to farm them and high level zones will be deserted.
Two problems solved, two new created.
I agree, they should be replaced by “I think” threads.
@Khallis.5708
How about this? I play GW2 and I enjoy it the way it is. You don’t, so why don’t you go play Farmville or whatever is up your alley?
Wouldn’t this cause high level players to just farm high level materials in low level zones because the cost of waypoints would be much cheaper. Soon the TP would be flooded with these materials, their price would drop vertically and I don’t know, I’m not an economist but when high level goods cost the same as low level ones something must be wrong.
“were I am not getting out geared by people who play more than me.”
yeah god forbid a game reward people for you know playing the game, what a silly concept.
I play games to have fun and relax after a hard working day, not to get rewards.
This happened to me on CM last boss, the game just froze when he was about to die. But when I reconnected I got all the rewards and achievement.
Ok, so it’s an engine bug. Probably will be fixed on the coming patches.
There’s an event in Bloodtide Coast where you need to kill the Alpha Drake. I’ve done it a couple of times and it seems the drake animations are bugged. It walks around attacking people and doing its thing but the model is always static, no movement at all.
Has anyone else noticed this is it just on my end?
I took the priory because I want to save the Vigil for my warrior and the whispers for my thief.
Hi there, I’m still level 48 but I hardly ever die in open world PvE. I focused my traits and gear on burst damage, that means I try to deal the most amount of damage as fast as possible, also some kiting to avoid being hit. Usually mobs are dead before they reach me, for this I find the rifle is the best weapon.
My utilities are Healing Turret, Rocket Turret, Personal Battering Ram, Elixir U.
I open with rifle’s net shot that pins the mob in place, followed by Rocke Turret’s secondary and Battering Ram’s secondary that cripples the target. Then Blunderbuss and Battering Ram primary. By this time the mobs mostly as good as dead, if not my net shot is ready to pin it down again and finish it off.
I try to never pull more then two mobs but if I accidentally do it I’ll immediately deploy the Rocket Turret cuz one or two mobs will usually go for it and get off my back. Also always try to focus on one at a time, trying to kill them all at once won’t work. As soon as one is gone it’s one less mob to worry about.
When I’m surrounded by two or more I use the Rifle’s Jump Shot followed by Overcharged Shot. It’s a great AOE damage and gets you out of pack while immobilizing one foe.
Well, that’s all I can think of for now. In dungeons it’s a completely different beast tho.
Well said OP, that’s exactly my feeling. No pressure to play the game. Finally an MMO that lets you play for fun.
Also the level scaling is the best thing since sliced bread. You can play with friends that are in completely different levels and it feels challenging and rewarding.
This is the best MMO on the market right now hands down.
There will be free updates/new content as said by the devs AND probably paid expansion packs.
Actually I’ve made more friends in 35 days of GW2 than in all my years of WoW.
There’s none. If you want to question moderators you should contact them directly via private messages.
Tech support forum is the last resort you should seek to solve your problems. There are support tickets for that and I always got mines responded.
The tech support forum is basically the players helping each other.
Also there’s a lot of bugs being fixed every week with new patches but there’s only so much a dev team can at any given time.
hmm I don’t use the Trading Posts for anything other than materials, that’s why I didn’t know you can’t preview gear in there but I agree it’s needed.
Excuse my ignorance but what’s an AH preview?
OMG how many bots topics will the mods have to close before ppl realize it’s useless to keep creating them and it helps noone?
I really want this and an Android App to go with it.
Not only MMOs but every game will have its forums flooded with complaints a few weeks/months after release.
You should have seen Skyrim’s forum on release day. I was there since weeks before launch and as soon as the game unlocked on Steam there was nothing but complaints, some valid, some not so much.
I outran a centaur, no seriously I really did.
Also you should only be able to travel from waypoint to waypoint and not from anywhere on the map.
If IRC Charrs are not very fond of magic lorewise so if you care about this stuff go with Charr ranger.
Tough luck. You still can:
- Sell them in the TP
- Salvage them for materials
- Gamble on the Mystic Forge
- Save them for alts
- Give them to friends
I’m a programmer and work for a software developer. We constantly make updates on the client side which our user don’t know about just because we detected potentially problematic code, optimizations and stuff that the end user will never see or know about because they don’t need to.
Q.Qers and why they feel the need to stick around and insult/attack people who like the game
Posted by: Calavera.1086
Because 60 bucks, that’s why.
most if not all the complainers had already spent enough time in game to justify 60$.
Map completion doesn’t give karma. That’s why you need events for.
It officially has now because last weekend I hit the 1$/1h ratio that I set myself to measure a worthy game and I’m still level 48.
Oh ok then, thx!
I’ve just logged in and saw a notification about a 15/10 update but I accidentally and stupidly clicked on the link that close the notification and couldn’t read it. Also there’s nothing in the announcements page about this update.
Can someone please tell what is it all about?
I also don’t like waypoints and I think a system where you automatically travel through the land on some sort of vehicle or mount is better but most of the younger players are not willing to wait 2+ minutes to go from point A to point B.
This game is not about the destination, but the journey.
I hate WoW now and used to love it but that’s because the game changed so much, not me (I think).
True enough. But the (very) basic premise of structured progression remains. Perhaps it’s why we can’t get into any wow-clone type games e(ex: SWTOR) either?
It could be. I’ve been trying to find a good MMO to play for years and when I found out about GW2 and all its promises of revolutionary content I was hooked.
I wonder if it has more to do with WoW etc being more structured, and GW2 having much more free form gameplay? I’m not a cognitive scientist, but I’ve definately noticed changes in the way I look at things in the last 10 years or so.
How many of us 30-ish-ers, used-to-play-WoW (or w/e)-but-hate-it-now-ers discovered wow in our early 20’s and loved it then? I wonder if there’s something there.
I hate WoW now and used to love it but that’s because the game changed so much, not me (I think).
I’m 55 and my wife is…ummmm, well never mind.
Well, we both love this game
That’s cool man. I started playing video games back in the 80’s when I was 6 and got an Atari 2600 and never stopped.
I can see my gaming spirit lasting this long. Probably playing in virtual reality machines.
I’m 70 hours in too and I’m still level 46.
I think it’s pretty clear you rushed through content and didn’t experience everything the game has to offer.
This description suits me.
I’m 32 and loving the game.
I like it a lot. Specially when you manage to kill that mob in the last minute and get rallied up.
@Calavera
Already there, please go on over and share some support, maybe we’ll get them to take a look at it.

There. I wrote a very elaborated post with the reasons I think Anet should do this.
I hope they bite it.
This, this, 1 million times this.
Please Anet, please, please, please, pretty please with sugar on top!
