The only thing this proves is that the OP has no idea what he’s talking about.
This… is… so… cool
Happy anniversary
I wouldn’t know cuz I haven’t played anything since I got GW2
So if a doctor saves the life of a member of your family against all odds you shouldn’t thank him because he was just doing his job?
Been following this game for the last 2 years and I must say it delivered all I expected and then some.
I can’t wait to see what’s on the horizon.
Thx for a great game Anet!
When you’re constantly checking your GPS for waypoints, vistas and POIs.
Any command line to see the latency?
The death of the holy trinity.
Honestly, I wouldn’t necessarily say that’s a bad thing.
And besides, the holy trinity isn’t exactly gone from Guild Wars 2. There is healing, damage mitigation, crowd control, damage-dealing, aggro, etc. These functions are merely given to each profession.
So, in a sense, each individual player is a holy trinity unto themselves. So there is no death here, only a change in form.
However, I know what you mean: you’re saying that Guild Wars 2 did away with the need to have a dedicated role.
I wouldn’t call it innovation, but it is arguably a step in the right direction. However, as I’ve stated before, I personally do not see the holy trinity as a bad thing.
To me the holy trinity was the worst thing in MMOs. All a tanker had to do was keep the aggro on him, all the DPS had to do is keep pressing 1-2 buttons, all a healer had to do is click on health bars. That’s not fun.
You have healing spells and damage mitigation in GW2 but in no way you can be a dedicated healer or tanker, if you try you will compromise the whole group as you’ll not be efficient. Now everyone must take care of themselves and the guy next to him. If you’re low on health you can’t count on the healer, you MUST evade and heal yourself. If you’re pulling too much aggro you must get away, if a fellow player falls you must run to bring him back on his feet.
That’s fun and that’s the best part of GW2 imo.
The death of the holy trinity.
I hope so.
I want to be able to check my gear, skills, traits, vault, TP selling/buying orders, personal story and stats wherever I am.
Maybe even a trait calculator to fool around with different builds.
Sure, they are going to ditch a major feature of the game and one that would make them rewrite the biggest part of the code only because you don’t like it.
Maybe next patch?

The funny thing is that I had just died 3 times trying to enter Sharkmaw Cave, I did it in the fourth try tho.
Minutes later they fixed it
Create an alt and level it up to 80.
Sorry but I hardly believe starting with a different race/profession/area is like “repeating the same mundane content over and over”.
Also:
NPC1 – Do you think it is safe to have a shooting range so close to a tavern.
NPC2 – Sure, we only had one casualty in the last week.
Little Girl – Are centaurs bad?
Grown Man – It’s a little more complicated than good or bad.
Little Girl – What does complicated mean?
I have to say I’ve never heard of that word before.
same here
This is one of the few gripes I have with the game. Good to see they are looking into it.
Also some events are respawning too fast.
MoP killed WoW.
What server are you on?
If it is Tarnished Coast I’d love to be part of your guild. I’m guildless right now and I always wanted to be part of a guild from the start and see it growing.
doom and gloom
game is dying
xfire stats are dropping
servers are dead, time to merge them
anything I’m missing?
It’s going to be F2P in one month
I’m kind of sad I don’t see half-RPers hanging out in in-game pubs anymore.
LA has some really cool ones.
I saw a bunch of people hanging around a campfire on the beach telling stories. I found it more fun then tavern chat.
Even took a pic of it
I remember receiving this mail with a gate icon. I didn’t pay much attention to it but it’s still in my mail box, I’ll check it out.
Thank you guys.
Hello everyone, I’ve just reached level 31 and realized that I can do my first dungeon since Ascalonian Catacombs is level 30.
I’m trying to follow a coherent path with my human character which means I don’t go out of my way to places the plot don’t take me. I complete the maps I pass through before proceeding to the next but essentially I stay on track.
I’m now in Lion’s Arch and I read in the wiki that AC is in Charr territory, way out of my way. So my questions are:
1 – Will the plot eventually lead me there so I don’t have to worry about going all the way to Charr territory right now just to do this dungeon?
2 – Does everyone in your group needs to physically travel to the dungeon entrance or is there some sort of mechanic where someone can summon the rest of the party into the dungeon?
3 – Is it hard to find ppl to dungeon with? I don’t have a guild yet.
4 – Why is bacon so good?
Thx in advance for your time
I don’t find the loot in BLC that appealing anyways. They are fun to open now and then just like when you open a sticker pack just because you don’t know what’s inside but other than that there’s nothing really special about them.
R-click stands for right-click, not holding “R” key and clicking, just to make it clear.
Other than that there’s nothing more to it.
I’ve just arrived at Lion’s Arch for the first time after 40+ hours of gameplay and I was so incredibly amazed by the huge amount of details that I had to stop playing and come here to say well done Anet.
My jaw dropped to the floor fifteen minutes ago and I still can’t get it up. I can’t even start to think the amount of time and work that was put behind this city alone. Everywhere you look you see something beautiful. I feel like a tourist taking pictures of everything so tomorrow I can show it to my coworkers.
This is hands down the most amazing city I’ve ever seen in a videogame.
Crafting is a major part of my character progression since most, if not all, the gear I make is better than the ones sold in vendors or found in loot.
I’m sure there will be one in the future but right now it is not the right time.
Mr. Hajduk your whole argument is written upon assumptions, not facts. I pretty much doubt you’re job has anything to do with the gaming industry unless you’re a game store clerk.
Why in the name of the holy trinity did you have to create another thread to express your opinion if there’s one talking about this exact same subject just two threads below??
Attention seeking much?
What is a ceiling cat?
I don’t agree with paying for a game plus a monthly fee to have the right to keep playing, it so the answer is no. Actually if it was a subscription game I wouldn’t even have bought it in the first place.
Not sure about that, I started the event to kill the blood witch and in less then 5 mins she was swarmed by players.
Try during hours with less players logged in like early in the morning. During these hours the server will be listed as high instead of full and she will be able to move.
I know cuz that’s what I did
Me too, right up there with Skyrim.
I applaud you OP.
Wait! Did you hear that? It’s the sound an old paradigm hitting the ground.
I think that’s exactly what Anet was thinking about when they ditched the holy trinity. They wanted the players to think, work together and find creative ways to overcome obstacles.
The idea of each class having its specific role worked for a long time but it is dull now and I thank Anet for breaking new ground.
It’s a bot. Report him
Here we go again
I still haven’t tried it but by what I’ve seen so far the Trading Post works much like a stock market. If you play your cards right you can probably make good money by buying low and selling high.
Just place buying/selling orders and wait for the money to drop in your account. Of course you need to pay attention to what the average prices, historical highs and lows are, but once you figured it out it should be easy.
Best: No way players can ruin my game by ganking, stealing, ninjaing, camping on your dead body, etc.
Worst: Mobs and DEs respawn too quickly. I hope they tweak it someday.
There’s something wrong with the forum layout because when a topic reaches 49 posts I can’t read anything until someone posts the 50th answer.
PvP in this game disgusts me. PvE in this game disgusts me.
And yet here you are.

Sorry it wasn’t the game for you.
No second thoughts, still loving it as much as I did in the first day I played. I have tons of other games to play but can’t stop logging in.
Shout, shout, let it all out.
This are the things I can do without.
Come on, I’m talking to you.
In no other MMO that I know there is a system like the dynamic events that change the world persistently for everyone.
In other MMOs you have phasing that players in different steps if a quest line will see the world differently.
This is one of its innovations.
Can we please have an option to “report gold seller” added to report e-mail button?
I’ve been reporting them for SPAM but I guess it would help to direct it better if we had that other option.
There is one already. The last option of the list is Gold Seller.
