I’m frustrated that I’ve been reporting the same bots for 6 days with no change, and they’ve been in the same godforsaken spot the whole time. A mentally handicapped chimp could probably tell that 5 players teleporting around in tandem isn’t natural behavior.
If you give me a report button, for the love of all that’s holy, you’d better make it feel like that button does something or you’ll lose the most valuable reporting tool out there – YOUR LEGITIMATE PLAYERS.
The problem is that like you there are thousands of other players making the same report and only so many Anet employees investigating all of them.
You’re not the only one reporting bots, be patient.
Considering each race has a different personal story I think this is borderline impossible.
I hope they do because some events were happening with ridiculously high frequency. If you stumble upon the same event every 5 minutes it kinda looses its appeal and breaks immersion IMO.
So I’ve noticed the turrets don’t start firing until you attack something and then it attacks the first thing you attack until it is dead or disappears.
This is actually wrong. Turrets will attack anything that is marked as hostile (red names) in range, even if you didn’t attack them.
I prefer Angry Joe.
Level 80 in one week? Really?
How about getting a life?
You’re lucky, during my first BWE I just read the mails and deleted’em afterwards… without taking the money.
Exploitation is not cheating but it’s equally bad and I’m glad Anet is taking care of it.
I really love RPing but by the time I found that TC is the unofficial server I had already created my char in another server. Then I tried to move but TC was full. I’ll keep trying tho.
The biggest problem I find with RPing is that I can’t type fast enough. By the time I get a sentence finished the subject has already moved or the joke isn’t funny anymore
“You could keep the giant alive for 20-30 minutes and just kill endless waves of grubs.”
There’s the exploit. You’re not supposed to keep the giant alive, you’re supposed to kill it.
Good riddance.
The whole game is my endgame. For the first time in an MMO I’m not worried about leveling too fast or two slow, leveling is just natural. Even if I outlevel a certain region the game will take care of it by leveling me down.
Having said that when I reach level 80 I’ll just keep doing the same stuff I’m doing now which is exploring the world and its many possibilities.
Old processor. My old Q6600 does exactly the same thing. Which is why I only use it for testing nowdays, it’s just to old to run a brand new MMo engine.
I also have a Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz and the game is performing well with 30-50 fps in PVE, everything set to max except for shadows on high, so I wouldn’t say the problem is the CPU.
My personal rate is 1 hour = 1 dollar.
So far I only have 25 hours in the game but I can already say that I’ll easily get into the three digits zone.

Why am i suddenly a troll. please gtfo my thread, if you have to be an moron.
In the other thread you bashed a post because the guy complimented Anet saying if he wanted to do so he should call Anet and not open threads in the general discussion forum.
If you’re not a troll you’re very good at looking like one.
Is this the end? The barrier separating engineers from the rest

The situation you describe seems to be a pvp game.
I know how you feel cuz I also suck at pvp, but I don’t think this is an engineer problem as I suck in every class in every MMO in the history of everything.
That’s why I love how there’s no world pvp in GW2.
Oh bummer. Maybe try to put in a support ticket and see what they say.
This.
Explain the situation and hope they have mercy on your soul.
Then you clearly havnt tried any of the other MMO’s. or you must have been lvl 1 on the character in the games, running around with “auto attack”.
You must have misread my post, or you’ve never used a macro. With a macro, any game can be trivialized into a 1 or 2 button mash-fest, especially in games like Vanguard that have a built in macro engine.
Basically, why press 1 through 8 when I can press one button that does it for me with optimal rotation built in, get it?
BTW, not sure if you noticed, but the #1 skill usually has 3 or 4 attacks built in that automatically activate, so it is essentially a built in macro.
LOL using macros in WoW you can do your whole rotation with one button.
Don’t feed the troll.
I really don’t know, if anything I think I’m leveling too fast.
Try exploring some more, crafting also gives a decent amount of xp.
I’m not worrying too much about achievements yet at level 22 all I’ve got so far came naturally.
I’ll pursue them once I reach level 80 tho. I’m saving it for my endgame.
I constantly find myself worried that I’m leveling too fast and missing content but then I remember I don’t have to worry because I can come back to that area later and the challenge will be same even if I’m level 80.
<3 GW2
In the options menu you can adjust the gamma slider to the left, it will make the game darker.
You have a very well made point there but I like the way the game is now. You are a very conservative MMO player and I respect that, but GW2 is trying some new stuff and it’s completely natural that not everybody will enjoy it, specially the more conservatives.
I’ve read an article last week from a blogger that talked exactly about this questing hub mentality and how some veteran MMO players would find it hard to adapt to the new concept of dynamic events, which are the main source of XP in this game. He went from heart to heart completing them in an organic order without attending to events, exploring or crafting at all and he quickly found himself under leveled for the next heart he needed to go to.
Kudos to you for the very well written topic. But in my opinion GW2 is great the way it is.
You can do PVP at any level, you character will automatically be lvl 80 when you join a PVP game and scale back when you return to PVE.
The difference is in World vs. World PVP (aka WvW) you only have the skills that you already unlocked and in structured PVP (aka SPVP) you get all the skills of your class to choose from.
Here’s a good source for information on everything GW2: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page
You can access this page from within the game by typing “/wiki” in the chat window.
Okay awesome, what the deal with Karma? Really don’t understand it.
Karma is a kind of currency that you get by participating in events and can be changed for items on some NPCs.
Think of it as recognition that you get for doing good deeds.
Boons = buffs
Conditions = debuffs (not only DoTs, but also slow, confusion, etc).
There’s one crafting discipline for every type of armor (light, medium and heavy). Also the weapons crafting are broken into categories.
I can’t list them from the top of my mind tho.
You can have only two disciplines active at any one given time, but you can change them for a small fee and you won’t loose the progress you’ve made.
I’m level 22 now and most of my gear was created by myself.
Engineer 22 9/10
Well I’m trying to focus my engineer on burst damage, that means all resources are directed to power. Not trying to be a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none is the key here.
Anyone else thinks GW2 is a serious GOTY contender?
Seriously, I see nothing but good things in all reviews I’ve read and watched. Of course it’s not perfect but it’s still young and the amount of potential for things to improve is huge.
Once the rough edges are ironed out (I hope sooner than later) I think this will be the MMO to rule them all.

Human male engineer leatherworker/huntsman
I know WvW takes place in the Mists, but what are we fighting for exactly and why?
I think it’s the client version

The link above has all the information you need.
…and thank Dwayna I don’t feel obliged to sink my time on it because of a monthly sub.
Amen to that.
You know, like the one in that other “MMO we don’t speak of” where you can see all the gears, skills, stats and whatnot?
I beg to differ. I’m as addicted as one can be.
Dgenerate.1948What I have been told by the GW fanboys is that this game isnt about loot. It’s about “exploring” and “adventure” and “the experience”. Let’s just face it, this game is a flop and probably only good for the people who like Adventure RPG games like Oblivion, but with a multiplayer aspect.
Like saying a FPS is a flop cause it’s probably good for people that like .. you know .. shooting.
I LOLed so hard at this. Good one.
I wish I could find more ppl to RP with.
Are there any RP servers and are ppl serious about it there?
OMG where do I start?
I love the sound design, the music, the voice overs, the NPC chit-chat. Sometimes I’ll just stop and listen to the word, specially in big cities where there’s so much going on.
I love the combat and the tactical aspect of it
I love the personal story concept. For the first time I feel like my MMO character is more than a bunch of pixels.
I love the graphics and breathtaking vistas.
I love the DEs (even tho they could use a little tweaking).
I love crafting and its discovery tab.
I love how you can change the color of your armor on the fly FOR FREE!
I love all the women that can outrun a centaur.
Oh kitten, now I’m all anxious to get home and play GW2 again (1 hour to go).
Good tips. Yesterday I was checking all my skills and trying different builds, there are tons of different combinations with the Engineer. I still couldn’t figure out what suits me best tho.
Not true in my experience. I’m level 15 in Queensdale and haven’t completed the map yet but I’m close to it. I think I’ll hit 17 exactly when I complete it.
What I do is never use waypoints and when there’s an event nearby I always participate. Also I’m leveling my crafting disciplines (leatherworking and huntsman) to be compatible with my level.
wait wha… I don’t even…what?
In Divinity’s Reach:
NPC1 – Do you think it’s safe to open a shooting range so close to a tavern?
NPC2 – That’s ok, we haven’t had any incidents for the last couple of weeks.
There are some events where you have to escort x NPC to y location and that’s fun and all but I think they should take longer to reset to preserve the immersion factor.
As an example I was escorting two NPCs from the monastery brewery to Bettletun, we got there safely, then I returned to the monastery only to meet the same event with the same NPCs making the same route again.
This is kind of an immersion breaker and goes against the persistent word feeling the other dynamic events give.
I think minor events like this and others similar to the giant worm attacking the Shaemor farm should be fewer and far between to really give a sense of accomplishment when you see one, but instead every time I walk by that farm it looks like there’s a giant worm coming out of the ground. I would’ve packed my stuff and moved away by now if I was that farmer
Definitely one of the best MMORPGs to come out in years specially because it really emphasizes the RPG element.
As long as it’s fun and it’s been a lot of fun so far.
