Yes the game is a lot of fun right now.
This forum is all whine and qq tho.
Yes they are learning to fly. I saw a risen on top of a tree in Gendarran Fields the other day.
Next thing you know will be raining dead men.
I would totally create a thief and dress like that to join your guild
My jaw is constantly dropping to the floor in awe. GW2 is definitely the best looking MMO I’ve ever seen, even tho I haven’t tried TERA which they say is also beautiful.
Red Falcon, where did you get that armor?
Zandiya nailed it. Light Pistol is the one I’m using.
@Oldgrimm I can’t tell you right now because I’m at work. I’ll get back to you when I log in later tonight but IIRC it dropped during a personal story mission.
OK so here’s my opinion. I don’t like PVP of any sort in any game basically because I suck at it. Even so I tried the sPvP last night with some guild mates and it was surprisingly fun. I hope they keep it as it is.
T3 human cultural pistol and rifle has the same skins of the ones I’m using right now at level 57 and they are drops.
I also like to play Dead is Dead in offline RPGs but I don’t think it is a viable playstyle in any MMO.
I seriously stopped reading in item 0. If you didn’t know there was no World PvP in GW2 than you didn’t do any research at all before you bought the game.
I think only Anet can confirm this but it is a great achievement (pun intended) nonetheless.
Congratulations.
I think it’s both. I’ve noticed new events in starting areas that are not related to Halloween.
About a week ago there was an article on pcgamer.com where an Anet staff (can’t remember the name) was talking about how the great majority of the players created human characters and how charr and azura were the least created. Maybe that’s why their initial areas are empty.
Last night I went to Queensdale and had to wait in overflow.
If Level scaling was gone would you feel motivated to visit lower level areas again?

DS is the best feature of GW2 imo and one that, if removed, would make me quit the game.
2g 47s ??c
yeah I’m poor
I’ve learned I can enjoy an MMO again after WoW:BC and that I don’t need no carrot on a stick to drive me through the game if the content is fun enough.
Looks just like mine. Even the framerate is the same.
Then I guess GW2 is not the game for you OP.
Have a nice life.
Except it isn’t
What isn’t?
I was answering to the topic title: “why partaking in halloween events is so costly?”
Except it isn’t
Why no wizards?
Bloodstones, that’s why.
No one knows and Anet already stated that they won’t announce any content before it’s ready so we have to wait.
@Clex
No the game isn’t dying and it’s unlikely to do so in the foreseeable future. Last night I was taking a stroll in the low level areas just to see how it was doing and there were dozens of players there completing events, renown hears and gathering materials.
The problem is that people usually group with other like minded people and if they don’t like something and stop playing they already assume everyone else think the same when they clearly don’t.
IIRC it was said there won’t be a Linux client but don’t quote me on that.
Anyways I don’t think there’ll be one any time soon.
Actually it has become a lot more interesting after 30 because of dungeons.
Also I feel like I’m leveling faster, probably also because of dungeons.
Before everyone gets a little too excited, it doesn’t sound like this is coming in one big update, but as updates over some amount of time. Releasing all of that at once would probably result in a bunch of unpleasant bugs, so a timed release would make a lot more sense.
Unleash hell, I say!
And if something goes awry just blame the Mad King.
I think they first need to further optimize the engine to make it less CPU bound.
Only then they should think about adding eye candy.
I’m lvl 54 and I use a mix of crafted and drops. Never bought anything.
Well, since this is just a cosmetic modification and doesn’t give you any advantage over other players I think it’s fair game according to Anet’s policy.
How about we can configure each tab in the chat box to give a sound notification when there’s a new message posted?
I constantly miss guild chat or even whispers because I’m too focused on what’s going on screen. I’m afraid sometimes people might think I’m anti social when actually I’m just distracted.
servers are FULL because they have the slots taken up by player accounts. its that simple. if a server is say, 1000 at cap, you have 1000 people making that server their home server. it doesnt mean its FULL it means its filled out its quota. it could still say its full yet only have 100 people active.
Wrong! Servers are listed as full/high/medium based on the active players not accounts created there. That’s why a server can be full on peak hours and drop to high during low activity times.
I don’t play as much as I’d like to because I don’t have the time but the good thing is that when I have the opportunity to log in it feels fresh.
None, I’m still working on getting my lvl 51 engineer up to 80.
But I’ll definitely create one of each race down the road.
Thx for the answer Mercury, BTW I’m a he
Uhm, this forum is on the internet, so by your own standards you are cheating by asking us.
I’m not asking for the recipes, I’m asking if there’s a way to acquire them in game.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think that people who look for recipes online are cheaters, I just don’t like to do it myself as I think it spoils the game. Just my personal opinion.
Before I reached Lion’s Arch I was always salvaging the gear I collected. Then I found the Mystic Forge and now I think I’m kind of addicted to its gambling system. I keep all the gear I find to try my luck with Zommoros.
Last night I got the first good reward. I offered 4 greens and got 1 yellow chest armor with the exact stats I’m looking four.
I just wish I had more space in the bank so I could match them better because as it is right now I don’t have the space to keep them long enough to have 4 of the same type. So I just throw them in randomly. I guess I’ll have to pay some real money to unlock more bank slots.
Anyways, is there any way to acquire Mystic Forge recipes in the game? I don’t like to look for recipes on the internet because I consider it cheating.
I see your point but I can also see a lot of people complaining that they can’t loot one mob because they accidentally knocked it off the ledge and into an unreachable spot if it was possible.
I’m pretty sure strafing reduced speed is there for some balancing reason and is unlikely to go away.
As for mouse turning I agree there should at least be an option to toggle it on/off.
Geforce GTX 460
I only get that in Orr really. Nowhere else is it as thick with fast respawning mobs. Usually its manageable, but I recall one POI I was trying to reach up a hill, and there were no less than three veterans along the path, with accompanying escorts of trash. Managed to get the second one down to about a quarter health before the first had reappeared and jumped me. By the time the second was down, all the previous trash had popped and I had to deal with them again. I should have split when I saw what was happening but stupidly, decided to press on. The first vet still had plenty of health left by the time the second one reappeared. They didn’t take long to double team me into oblivion.
I never did get a single shot in on the third vet and that POI is still unvisited. Every time I think of it, I hear calliope music in the background and some baritone announcer shouting “SEND IN THE CLOWNS!”. Not sure when I’m going to try it again.
Have you tried asking for help? It’s probably doable with 2-3 players.
I think it was intentional because they feared ppl would be left without anything to kill in the first days after launch when servers were almost always full, at least that’s my impression.
I’ve also read somewhere that they will be looking into respawn rates in certain areas in the future but I think right now they have other priorities.
I find that list simply amazing.
Either sell them at trading posts or save them for the Mystic Forge gamble if you’re feeling lucky.
Not yet and I’m almost sure I’ve read somewhere an Anet staff member saying it won’t be implemented. I hope I’m mistaken tho because I’d also like to change my main’s name.
I love to throw my shield Captain America style.
The first time I arrived in Lion’s Arch I was speechless by its grandiosity and the amount of details in every corner.
Then I was working on LA map completion and there was this vista that I just couldn’t reach. I saw a couple of players hanging around a camp fire in the beach nearby probably roleplaying and asked if one of them could tell me how to get there. One of showed me the way but before I could thank her she was gone. Then as I approached the vista I heard this spooky laughter coming from a cave nearby. It was Sharkmaw Caverns. I didn’t know anything about it by that time and I was totally intrigued by it. I tried to enter carefully but ended up sliping and dying. After two more tries I finally made it inside.
[Spoiler below]
It was so awesome the way the pirate ghost lead me all the way, making jokes and taunting me. Then at the end of the puzzle you have to guess which is the right hole you have to jump into. I didn’t want to go online to see which one was the right choice but if I chose the wrong hole I would die and the closest waypoint was outside the cavern and I would have to do it all over again. I stood there for about 10 minutes trying to figure out the ghost’s riddle and finally I took the leap of faith. My heart pounded as my char fell all the way down and finally hit the water. The chest didn’t have anything special but the experience was more than worthy.
This was one unforgettable moment.
I’ve got to agree with this specially concerning the latency. My internet connection is kitten and I can barely say I’m playing an online game save for the very rare lag spike.
I still would like to be able to check the latency tho which to this day I haven’t found in game.
I hate playing in a game universe that I don’t know anything about so the personal story was a good way to get me started in the world of Tyria. But if you don’t care it’s not mandatory.
