meh, its a nice effect and a quality of life upgrade, I can now forget about the annoyance of carrying space mining tools, and the annoyance of using ori picks on low level nodes in lower level zones (ok its not a major issue, but it bugs me).

Slap in my shiny new pick, enjoy the effect and never have to worry about it again.
Here’s hoping for infi-axe and sickle.

(I really dont get why we even need tools to harvest, it adds nothign to the game experience, and seams a very clunky and pointless mechanic).

Robert Hrouda actually mains Ranger, and didn’t put him on the spot to trash the guy, i actually respect him since he’s one of the most active developers with the community! and that is great, I’m showing this because what he said is probably what everyone talks about believes at Anet

If the developers themselves, don’t play the class, not even they will know how easy it is to counter this build. kill them a few times and they will label OP and nerf the skills. and even if they get on an engi to try the build themselves, its most they did a quick test against a static dummie and decided it needed to be nerfed.

playing the class for 5 minutes, would prevent so many bugs such as “Deployable Turrets”

Whilst I love the game, I’d have more faith in Anet to sort stuff if they gave the impression they actually played the game.

Some of what the devs say is just total BS, and either they have no clue about their own game, or they are just talking crap to troll.
Also, their communication is awful, the lack of dev comments in some profession forums is appalling. I’m not expecting responses to every thread, but the last post from Anet in the guardian forum for instance was over 3 months ago…

The level of QQ here is amazing. I’m thinking of transfering out for that alone! Add in teh skill lag that occurs when a VS megablob shows up and its not always much fun!

A great community on SFR and aparantly Deso is a great community too.

I love how their initial reaction to any game change that causes an uproar is to lock the post to keep people from commenting. They really need a PR person to advise them that doing things like that is not in their best interest.

It was rather smart of them to lock it though, since it was more or less only people flaming, no real discussion.

Step 1, EU servers complain about something that inconvininces them (Rightly so, btw)
Step 2, Anet decides EU has a point, and makes a band aid fix that doesnt actually fix the problem and screws over NA players

I disagree with this assessment. The main reason for taking DE at level 40 is not about group utility, but about personal survival. A double dodge followed by Distortion can get you out of many sticky situations in WvW.

I dont know the current figures for GW2, but GW had a larger EU playerbase than a NA one.
So assuming thats continued, or at least that the entire EU playerbase (and to some extent Russian) is larger than the west coast NA playerbase, you must surely agree this is a postitive move.

I mostly mean thief here, to be honest.

It’s not even just survive-ability. My guardian has far more dps (and aoe! ye gods!) from the get go. My thief has fairly weak damage and bugger all AOE until quite late.

Aoe I’ll grant you, but I’ve started a thief and whilst I’m still relatively low, mobs just melt in seconds, and there is enough stealth and avoidance abilities to keep me out of trouble, or run.

remember some skills do more dmg from behind your ememy, so when they do an attack animation, nip round behind and rack up the dmg!

The should keep SAB in rata sum, and add attractions in other cities to get people into them also.

SAB has been hugely sucessful, so why they are removing it after a month is beyond me, it fits the asura theme perfectly, and should be permenant.

I dont pay any attention to my appearance in combat, so weapon skins are purely for cosmentic purposes when standing round in LA, when I can choose to display them over kits.

I think its more important to have the visual clues for what kits you have active, both for yourselfand for the enemy.
Its like ageis showing for guardians over shields….yes its irksome, but its important. Its important for your enemies to see what kit you are currently in by the visual clue, much like its imporant to know if that guardian just swapped to a hammer over a greatsword.

I feel that buffing the low level bosses is kinda a rough idea, because you buff it too much and it’s no longer geared towards what it was originally intended – low level characters. Making the thing scale up in theory would work great, depending on how they did it. Giving it just more health only serves to draw it out in a boring manner.

And increased health is fine for now, most of them have decent mechanics, but you never see them anymore as scaling is crap in this game.

no I make comments about people who rage on pugs, and act condescending. There are some great guilds and loads of great people on SFR, but lately a vocal minority have been pug bashing, and claiming pugs are awful and noobish. There has also been many awful comments in /map in WvWvW basically abusing people to try to get them to leave to free up slots that some guilds feel they are entitled to.

I am not bashing all guilds, obviously, just calling out those that are acting in a bad way and creating an elitist negative culture. If people are acting all defensive about it, then maybe they have reason to. So far I;ve not named names, and dont intend to. but in no way have I ever claim every guild is bad, just ones that act in a certain way.

annoying as a guardian, until you get close, but not so much on other profs.

And for you infomation these “pro pvp guilds” that you condescend and call them toxic have done a hell of a lot to get this server to tier 1 and built the community we’ve had since launch, and then to be called toxic by a person who refuses to help is laughable. Do us a favor move to Desolation, i’m sure you only hopped over here when you saw we were winning the tier and wanted some easy wins.

Tell him to join my raid then. I will teach him what to do, we will share proper builds, tell him what gear he needs to acquire. Let him come to us and have some fun on TS.

Its not pugs that are the problem right now, its the self proclaimed pro guilds.

I’d save crafting until later.

I did every starter zone and the next oneforeach race, then crafted my way up with the mats I had. Meant I just had to hit hararhi hinterlands to cap, with the odd wvwvw session when I felt like it.

I’d stay clear of endgame zones to level up in, anything 60+ has no players in it for events, and Orr mobs are just annoying.

Lets face it, anet dont give a kitten.

It was a major issue right from bwe1, and the only thing they did was a range increase, which actually made the scepter missing issue worse.

Well the problem is no1 seems to care enough so the dev`s wont put any energy in it.

Despite the complete lack of attention that Scepter has received from ANet’s development team, I think that they do care but don’t really know what to do. If the state of the game held by GW2 Guru was any indication, they said that Guardian’s are in a good place. Yes, our class is in a great place but that doesn’t mean we have our issues which is what I think they’re overlooking. I’ve only played one other class, Engineer, and they had its fair share of issues which for the most part, were resolved recently. I wouldn’t put it past them to put Guardian’s as a low priority to update Scepter.

Quick fix, double scepter projectile speed.

Can wait for longer one for more detailed solution. But that would do it, 10mins work max to change a value for projectile speed.

Go into wvwvw and explore and get shouted at for being a pve noob, then Come to the forum and make a suggestion that wvwvw is taken out of 100% and get shouted at for being a pve noob….

Why not remove wvwvw? If it stays in why not add in every dungeon and bg too? Its not 100% as it is.

Wvwvw completion is annoying, its dependant on queues, luck, being in a teir with some movement, and being on line whenyour side happens to own certain points. Its notmskill based at all.

Why no sylvari tree castles? Asura floating keeps? Char mechanised fortresses? Or norn longhouse style forta?

Its not impossible, its just virtually impossible.

The lag, caused by Blobbing, is gonna end up killing the game.

I tried to play 3 hours today when I normally play many more and it was really really pathetic. No skills fiering, couldent change weapons, just not fun.

Anet got the biggest responsability in this for giving the players the chance to group up to a point where the game is not playable… but man those players and guilds that knowing that this problem exists and that persist in grouping up in huge numbers… I just dont understand them, I really cant.

I give the game a few weeks more before it completely begins to go down the drain, in the meantime, ill keep trying to play (wow interesting to TRY to play a game and not actually play it).

I hear you mate, BOON spent 4 hours on VS BL last night, bar one attack to kill our gate cannons no one even attacked our Keep or Tower the whole 4 hours, we got a lot of high numbers fights with Deso which was fun.

But VS guys I have to give you massive Kudos here how you manage to get your entire map to hug one dude the entire night is beyond me well done serious organisation whipping of pugs etc, but way to break the game its like every time VS engage in a fight the entire map lags last night was just silly.

So yeah T1, big, queues, can’t get guild raid into map, skill lag, a blob that only does pvdoor unless forced to defend.

Was nice to see Tier 1, it was pretty much exactly as expected, met lots of nice people and guilds here as well as all the troll/ppl who worry about rank too much etc.

BOON are heading off to a quieter server once we identify it so we can get back to raiding and playing as a guild again rather than being a chatting place for ppl queuing for WvW. Take care ppl and don’t stress too much its only a game! o/

I really hate what it has done to SFR.

Thing is its selfinflicted.

Sfr grouped a load of wvwvw glds together to create a winning server….which inevitably means people will move there.

Aparantly its ok to move to create a winning server, just not to join one?

Anyway, it was predictable, ironically its why i went to a different server than deso after beta, all the big guilds were clustering on certain servers.

I’ve never got that. Its like saying we are al so pro at pvp, we have to band together and hold hands so we can rolfstomp pugs so we can stoke our collective kitten.

The best thing that can happen out of this is for t1 guilds to spread out over more servers and balance the board a little. And for anet to get a grip on rankings and the lack of mobility.

Are you having fun? Then its worth it even if nothing drops.

If you are not, then no amount of shiny loot would make it worthwhile.

Levelling is archaic, though it does serve a purpose.

I personally thing it should have stopped at level 30, the extra 50 add little to the experience other than a time sink, should have had the racial starting areas and teh next zone or two as the levelling content, and the rest as max level zones.
