nah, its fine how it is, Anet get an income from BLTP, people who buy dyes with gems get a gold income, people who sell dye drops get gold to buy gems…
Its good for the economy to leave it character bound only.
They lack burst aoe dps and so its difficult to reliably get good contribution rewards or kill credit in PVP and PVE.
No they don’t.. plenty of AOE damage on GS+Staff+Shatters… think we might even have the most AOE damage of all classes. Can’t remember the last time I didn’t have gold contribution in an event.
yes they do, Aoe takes at least a few secs to set up, cast chaos storm cast illuisions, shatter (with ru in time).
We have pretty pathetic aoe compared to warriors, thiefs, elementalist, engineers, guardains…
Dont be in denial.
Also you must be on a really low pop server to always get gold, Heavy aoe will kills stuff before you can shatter an the 25stack limit on conditions will cap your possible dps.
Like I said I dont really think its a Mesmer issue though, its the problem wiht the really bad contribution system.
The Fire Elemental is the best boss I’ve fought so far… Bosses need to be Hard. Shadow Behemoth is really boring compared to him.
agreed.
another good one is the one at the infity coil, the last boss who keeps teleporting around the platforms.
More of these please Anet. its possible to have group content thats not faceroll and requires proper tactics.
WvW is for everyone. thats the point.
I think you took the statement out of context
Chaosstar – I think staff is a great weapon, though its perhaps more suited for larger groups than the smaller conflicts in SPvP. That said, even without condition bonuses, being able to stack conditins and boons quickly and then switching to your other weapon is very effective. and the combo fields are nice when combined with finishers on other weapons
Mesmers are great at somethings and suck at others.
They lack burst aoe dps and so its difficult to reliably get good contribution rewards or kill credit in PVP and PVE.
They are an incredibly fun class to play and really very effective when played well, however all is not rosy and some things need looking at. To be honest the class is fine, its the contribution system that needs chucking out and reworking from scratch.
both are pretty bad in WvWvW. fun,and quite effective, but you’ll not get many kill credits so your loot, exp and rewards will be low.
Mesmers – suffer from low burstdmg and lack of decent aoe (other than chaos storm), your ramp up time and ineffectiveness of shatters in keep warfare mean you wont get many kill credits.
But, in small scale skirmishes, caravans, supply camps etc, you are lethal and really really really hard to kill.Guardians – lack of ranged options makes guardians pretty useless in keep warfare, support is fine, but you dont get credit for it.
Once the door goes down however, you become lethal and hard to kill, so if you can stand the boredom of waiting for a seige to break in, then you wil be fine.Hey we (Guardians) can be pretty useful in keep warfare. Throwing bubbles, heals, aegis, retaliation, aoe cleanse fields. I mean we are not a one man army but we do have plenty of uses in that situation.
oh yes, you can be useful, very, its jsut not that exciting, and you dont get much credit (exp/loot/contribution) for it, if you are happy with that, then you can be really useful to your team in terms of winning, but your personal rewaards will be low.
same with mesmer. mesmers are possibly the best offensive support in the game (condition/boon stacking, traits to give illusions area buffs to teammates, timewarp!!!), but again, whilst that helps massively on a group scale, personal rewards for it will be low.
Thanks for the tip, I might have a look into that. But it should not be needed in my opinion. I mean, you down an enemy on your own, someone runs in and finishes him off and he gets the credit. I don’t think this achievement is working the way it should.
PS: In reply to Cameirus
contribution is well screwed up in both pvp and pve at present. you actively get penalised for ressing people and using support.
And you can spend ages duelling someone down, getting them to use their CDs and such, get them to the point where you can burn them down…..and along comes a warrior/thief who jumps in with a bit of burst for 3 secs…..they get credit, you dont….its totally messed up.
both are pretty bad in WvWvW. fun,and quite effective, but you’ll not get many kill credits so your loot, exp and rewards will be low.

You asked a question that the above posts addressed. Or was it rhetorical and you don’t want to read opinion that differs from yours?
The anti-LFG tool crowd are not numb to the other side. We use the tools. We benefit from them. But we also remember a sharp line of when we played with quality players, vs when we played with players that were the worst personalities around.
Did we have bad experiences before the tools? Yes. Did we have good experiences after the tools? Yes. Of course. But we still remember how people acted in groups was more acceptable before, and less acceptable after.
If you ever nerd raged at anyone, you’re what we are avoiding. We don’t understand you, we don’t like having to deal with you. We’re the nice people that are quietly annoyed but patient. Even though you are not directing it at us, but at another member of the PuG, we still find that behavior wrong. We can ignore it fine. We can play through and finish our run and do another. We shouldn’t have to.
Randomly recruiting from chat allows us to screen people out. Randomly being added to anyone forces us to have to deal with the people we would have screened. Giving the tool and telling others not to use it results in the tool getting used because there is no other option. Once a tool goes up, “LFG” is ignored even if anyone bothers to try.
It was rhetorical, but I love hearing different opinions to my own, it makes me thing about my own stance and really consider if its the right one or not.
I dont know of any such division in quality of groups. I had some pretty appalling groups in tradechatspam-era. and have had some apalling groups in the LFG era too. Though in both cases they are the minority.
The difference is that in a bad LFG group, its easier to remove someone and find a replacement. Pre-LFG a bad player getting into a group often ruined the group early on as no one wanted to go back to Org/IF(and yes it was IF then!) and spam trade to find a replacement.
I dont nerd rage, its a game and rage is pointless. though to be honest I encounter more rage in Chatspam groups than LFG, maybe its that LFG is less elitist. I loved Rift when LFG was put it, groups were willing to wipe repeatedly and I never saw any rage, I saw people helping each other to over come some pretty nasty bosses.
LFG does not stop you making groups in chat, it merely allows the playerbase another option. If you find chatspam groups harder to get thent thats democracy in action, being given options and people choosing to use LFG over chatspam. You should not force your way of playing on people by denyiing them options.
Where WoW went wrong was attaching rewards to LFG to incentivise it, leave it as jut a grouping tool, not a reward system, and people are free to choose which method they prefer. And no, dont alter difficulty, leave it how it is, LFG should be 100% a group finder, not an easy mode and not incentivised. Then its a free choice of which you use, and thats the best way to do it in my opinion.
The anti-lfg crowd always goes on about how LFG is bad and an awful experience…..I’ve got to ask what are you guys doing to make it so? my LFG experiences in WoW, Rift and now Stwor have been 99% positive.
I’m forced to the conclusion that the problem is not with LFG but with the players who complain about it. Simple solution, put it in and if you dont like it dont use it.
We intend to make it so retaliation does not effect siege weapons. No ETA, but we’re looking into it.
was not even aware it did, I usualy sit on a arrow cart for ages and I’ve never noticed it being hit by retailiation…
Thanks for the update, its appreciated.
If you could provide some solid data on rankings and average queue times (peak hours) for servers that may help players decide if they want to move servers, and of course keep server transfers free for a while longer to allow people to move easily.
lol, try being a mesmer…you hardly ever get credit for kills due to ramp up time or ineffectiveness of shatters in WvWvW keep warfare.
Get an arrowcart, find a keep under attack and being defended and sit on walls spamming shots for 10mins, thats how I get mine.
I am drowning in dyes, not sure whetehr to use them or sell them.
But yes, I have also noticed a better drop rate in low level zones, same with Black lion chests.
Tears down the community mykitten it removes the tedium of spamming a channel and makes creating a group an easier and quicker things. But hey go ahead and tell me channel spamming builds community, go ahead, because that is basically what you’re implying.
Or you mean people would somehow not talk in a group that was createds faster by a dungeon tool when they would do so in a group formed by tedius chat spamming because… magic? Or it’s probably that you just don’t have any basis for your claim at all.
Pre-LFG tool in WoW, people were better. Groups didn’t suck. The simple act of having to talk with someone made it so they didn’t act like ankittenhat troll.
Lol, what a bunch of BS, you never had to talk to anyone pre LFG tool, nor would “having to talk” magically make people better players. And please show me where having to talk with someone equates to having to be nice, and don’t give me the BS about some “bad rep police”, they can find a group who never heard of them just as easy within the hour and you’ll more than likely have forgotten their name and everything about them quite fast as well.
and who cares if you see people saying LFG AC, THAT’S HOW YOUR FORM A GROUP.
Correction, that’s how you form a group in an ineffective and time consuming manner that forces players to locate themselves to a specific zone and being unable to participate in other things they might actually want to do while waiting for a group to be formed by an automated dungeon finder in a more timely manner. Why settle for an inferior system when you could have something that’s superior in every concievable way?
Oh golly, did I just crush another caveman who thinks a dungeon finder is bad because it will steal his soul? I think I did. What ends up happening though is everyone will sit in the city, next to a vendor and just wait for the queue. This stops people from actually experiencing the game, imagine trying to quest and no one else is there to do the events with you..
Again, what a bunch of bull, and I’ll give you logic to support my rightful claim of it being bullkitten. A dungeon finder does not make people sit in a town waiting for a group to form in itself. You know what does? A lack of interesting things they want to do outside of the city. Nothing they want to do outside of the city = them being in the city.
If anything a dungeon finder would lessen that issue since now people don’t need to park theirkitten in zone X where instance Z is located and start spamming the chat, they can actually go anywhere in the world and do whatever they want provided it’s there for them to do, if it’s not, then they will be inactive while not grouping for a dungeon, which is what they would do with the current system as well. Because there is nothing interesting for them to do.
You can call it bull all you want, but I highly doubt you played WoW before the LFG and LFD tools then. If you don’t remember the days of your name being remembered on your server, then you were not there.
Being called a Ninja was an insult that meant something. You could not get a group to risk joining you. Your name was blacklisted. Call it bull if you want, but that just proves to me that you don’t know what you’re talking about, but are opinionated about it anyway.
You used to only do battlegrounds within your server. Not only did you know your players, you knew the enemy factions players, by name, as well. Completely different community in the start.
Everyone that came into a game when the community was already trolling and griefing, that is the standard they remember, and that is the standard they act on. And they’ll deny the community was any better, cause they were ignorant of such a time.
It’s basic psychology that people end up treating each other better when social conventions force them to. They fall into place. The simple act of needing to communicate is such a convention. We see it for what it is.
I did play wow pre-lfg, it was awful then as it is now. So much elitist crap, with “pro” players needing people to match up to their idea of how to spec and how to gear ( and yes you had to be chronically over geared to get into groups).
I remember hours spent trying to find groups, I remember groups falling apart because someone had to leave and no one coudl face trying to find a replacement. I remember hardly runnign instances unless it was in 100% guild groups as it was just too much hassle. I remember being stuck in cities for hours rather than beign out playing the game I was paying for…..
no mounts but give every profession the same options for passive movement speed buffs.
Mesmer and Guardian get shafted compared to thief and Elementalist.
Players that have purchased the “Commander” rank and have a full squad should have the highest priority.
Players that have a full 5 man party should be next in line for priority.
Players who are trying to get into WvWvW by themselves should have the lowest priority.
nope.
No priority to anyone. Unless you buy my copy of GW2 you should not dictate how I play.
easy to kill and keep warfare is supposed to be sieges. Standing there shooting your bow at the keep door is supposed to be pretty ineffective, get a balista or arrowcart yourself and actually contribute.
Kill the adds.
Seriously thats all it takes, they are the ones dropping the deadly aoe, all the boss does is look pretty and put out slow moving fire lines.
The adds put out the aoe circles of death, kill them, kill them quick and get off thekittenbridge, if you are all clustered there then the aoe gets stacked there and you cant dodge it.
Spread out, kill adds, the elemental will die in about 5mins if you do that with no problems.
dynamic =/= persistent
And its a computer game, these things have to be coded, so of course they are scripted….but the main issue right now is that they are all locked in ultimate sucess mode. We dont see the failure state where the centaurs win an attack on the fort, be just see the sucessful defense and the counter attack.
100% disagree
A decent auto join lfg queue system is badly required.
It’s swtor all over again, just spam in chat and having to stand in one map if you want a group rather then be out and enjoy the world.
add in lfg and only use it if you want to, don’t restrict my offered play style because you don’t like it, if you don’t like lfg, don’t use it. We can both be happy.
That’s because SWTOR was a WoW clone, so maybe it should have had a auto dungeon finder.
This is not WoW….and who cares if you see people saying LFG AC, THAT’S HOW YOUR FORM A GROUP.
Also, join a guild, the game is scalable so if you have issues finding a PUG, then get some guildies to run some dungeons with you. I guarantee there are a lot of good guilds out there who do that for their members.
USING ALL CAPS MAKES YOUR POINT BETTER, RRRRRAAAGHGHG….
No, it’s annoying, it’s not community to have spam all the time, and it’s not community to stand in one spot outside a dungeon portal any more than it is to stand in town, all it is is actively stopping people from enjoying the rest of the world.
If you don’t out why do you care? You would never need lfg…and would never get that community as you always run wit your guild…..
And don’t tell me how to play, it’s arrogant in the extreme, unless you are willing to buy me a copy of the game then you can dictate how I play, until then, lose your arrogance and sense of superiority and realise other people’s viewpoints are valid.
I never understood this argument. The only difference between using an LFG tool and not is that one forces you to spam chat channels with “LFG LFG OMG LFG PLEASE LFG” for hours and the other is just a click of a button for multi-server grouping goodness.
The quality of players? Never seen it change. People sucked in groups pre-WoW lfg, sucked after. People didn’t really suck in groups pre-Rift lfg, didn’t really suck after.
I never got why people love to spam “LFG” all over the place, get maybe 1 run every few hours, and say “This is so much better than getting a 10 minute queue on a multi-realm LFG tool without having to spam channels! That would be so sucky!”
What ends up happening though is everyone will sit in the city, next to a vendor and just wait for the queue. This stops people from actually experiencing the game, imagine trying to quest and no one else is there to do the events with you..
Instead they sit next to theortal and annoy the whole map with lfg spam…. So much better communit there….
100% disagree

Except where noted below, I either agree or dont care either way about the points of that list:
We do NOT need mounts – detrimetnal to game
We do NOT need inspection – detrimental to game
we do not need fishing – boring as hell, just go do it in real life if you want it
Target of target not required – detrimental to game
Cast bar for target not required – detrimental to game
Downed state should stay in Spvp – adds tactical dimension to play
LFG needs to be put in badly. – not having LFG is severly detrimental to both game and community. “LFG TA Mes” “LFG TA Mes” repeated 20 times is not community building. Also lack of it means people have to camp certain zones rather than be out enjoying the world if you want to group.
more weapon skills not necessary – add more weapons in expansions/patches if necesary.
Additional points:
Contribution needs to go. Gold/silver/bronze needs to be removed. Contribution should just be awarded for taking part at a flat level. Right now it actively discourages good group play, as ressing or supporting penalises you, and classes with ramp up time rather than burst aoe dps dont get loot/contribution/exp from the events.
This is possibly the biggest flaw in the game right now and need URGENT attention by Anet.
Downscaling needs to be harsher, right now you are still stupidly OP when downscaled more than a few levels.
Events need to be made harder, possibly repeated player sucess makes the enemies much much stronger so we see failure events. Right now we will never see half the event chains as there is no chance the events will travel down the failure path, they are locked at total success.
Your point being? Even if it had been out for 12 months and you decided today that you wanted to make a weapon you would still have to spend 50-60 days of playing 12+ hours a day to get one.
took me months to get into the ship I wanted in eve. Took me months back in the old days of MMOs to get items.
You’ll get karma just playing the game, so why QQ? it will always have a use, just keep at it until you get it.
Not everything has to be obtainable in a week or two.
double dagger,
Ride the lightning, updraft, burning speed, ring of fire, arcane blast, frozen blast, arcane wave, earthquake.
If anything is left alive after that, well, not a lot will be, so just kite.
Dunno, I’ve earned about 600+ badges and I don’t even WvW that much, hell, I spent more time farming for materials that I need :/ . A guildie of mine has much more of them. So drop rate is fine imo.
whats your profession just out of interest? I have a feeling its more to do with the contribution or tagging system than it is the drop rate to be honest.
Man more siege weapons. Anyone can be “burst DPS” when they’re manning a cannon, arrow cart or ballista.
It’s good for the team to plop down an arrow cart when you’re attacking an enemy tower but if that’s not enough reason to do it, then consider that you’ll also get more badges because you’ll be out-DPSing most people.
The famous “Pangloss Ballista Defense” is a big badge farm too.
ah, so your solution is not not play my preferred profession…….
Ok, that just screams game imbalance if the only solution is to bypass my profession and use seiges…
They should reset all 400 cooking got pre nerf,, its not fair on people who now have the grind or cost of levelling it now
Isnt the point of 3factions that there can be alliances?
Use mobility.
Dont stay in close, jump in and out to activate combo fields, switch attunement often.
If you want kills, loot or xp rewards, dont go mesmer.
Yes you kickkittenin small battles, but ramp up time means you wont tet credit in the zerg.
Thief rules wvwvw, eles and warriors are also good.
Ride the lighting will also go toward whatever enemy you have targeted, or if auto-target is on, will randomly pick an enemy in the area to head toward.
I have had some issues with it randomly stopping, but then the other day I also was unable to get my character to step over a rabbit. Just stopped him dead in his tracks and I had to walk around the little bunny.
There is an option to make your target olid to help melee. Turn it off.
If you cant do them, make friends with a mesmer who can!
Anyone want a run through the wvwvw dungeon one? Selling mesmer portal tours here!
seems impossible to overtake another servers whole section.
Alreay got it. Also got two borderlands, just need a coupe of points in last borderland.
Holy crap there’s a lot of dumb in this thread.
There should never EVER be a priority for WvW because of level. Lower levelled characters can easily take out a level 80 if he knows what he is doing, and are no less useful than any other person who wants to WvW.You’re badly misinformed. We regularly wipe groups of 20 with 5 well equipped level 80’s.
The only way a lowbie will take out an 80 is if he’s AFK or horribad.
Then you suck. :P
I never look at gear before i get stuck in, and even little low level me gets lots of kills and very rarely dies. (though lack of credit usually!)
Besides i’d prefer 10 low level players using seiges over 100 level 80s mindlessly attacking a door with normal weapons, tactics win wvwvw, not gloryseekers. Amd this kind of elitist and quite franklykitten thinking needs to be removed from the community, go back to a raiding mmo if you want to be an elitist jerk.
(edited by Cameirus.8407)
Is it only me that thinks marks are an incredibly low drop rate? Two weeks in, lots of wvwvw and less than 50 marks.
Yes i will have missed some due tothe way loot bags spawn, but i actively look out fr loot bags now and get most of them.
Part of the issue will ethe bad comtribution system, meaning unless you are a burst dps class you dont get awarded loot or exp. but even in one on one fights, often there is not loot and even whe there is there is very rarely a mark in it.
Is this intended to be such a low drop rate?
Whilst I don’t condone a ‘top three’ system like the OP suggests, I do believe contribution should be taken into account. Otherwise what’s to stop people afking during events after tagging one mob? The best rewards should be given to those that work hardest.
I’ve never seen a system that works well at defining who “works the hardest”.
I’d design it assuming people will play for fun, rather than assuming players are all freeloading skivers.
I hope there are not real world equivalent events in GW2….
If they want to do Tyria ones fine, but I really hope they dont do xmas events or halloween or easter (an no, just changing the name is not good enough.)
So let’s buff exp for events? Or crafting? Or the literally 10 other ways you can gain exp in this game? Why must playing events constantly be the only option?
its not the only option, but its the major PVE content in the game…..its why people want to play this game for PVE, and you want to reduce their ability to take part? I really cant understand how you think thats a good idea….
come play GW2..where its a right PITA to find any of our signature dynamic content…..
not exactly the strategy I’d go for if I was a dev.
few facts for everyone
1) in WvW there is no such thing as a lower lvl better stats than a level 80, there is no such thing as “no big difference” I can solo 3 players because I out gear them, Majorty of level 80 players have exotic if not full exotic gear, my Level 80 necro has 24k health, my level 23 guardian in WvW has 13k… I can 2-3 shot people like this.
2) There is no such thing as ADVANCED tactical crap, no one listen to a level 23, let alone being level 23 means YOU DONT HAVE THE WvW Experince.
3) We not saying dont play WvW at all, we saying to borders where you can along the way farm nods (Copper, iron etc). the EB should be a level 80 only.
4) There is nothing to do for majority of level 80 players other than WvW, Spvp is available for anyone even level 1 it doesn’t make a difference. All we do is run around waiting for Queue and farm some nods or look for events that we already done 120 times over and over again.
When ranking begin and 2 weeks cycle begin, Low levels cant afford 2g upgrades anyway, it will be not fair to have one side with more levels 80s in than another, when each level 80 (if equally skilled) is equal to 2 or 3 (depend on how low level and crap gear) lower levels. Guilds will not be able to join in groups because a level 15 is walking around tagging any group anywhere for xp and karma.
My character has been taking out players 2v1 and 3v1 since he was level 30….. and yes that includes players with what looks suspiciously like high level equipment.
Also, you people talk like its on server with all level 20s against another with all level 80s…..its not, its going to be pretty balanced both ways.
Coordination will win over any level disparity anyway and some servers just suck with coordination.
If the enemy has managed to get into SM and can set up arrow carts to do this….I think you’ve lost it anyway.
I agree that zerging is a problem (and one of the reasons I tend to stay away from WvW), but I do think this problem will tone down a bit once the game has been given time to mature and the playerbase is more spread out.
However, I do like the idea of the UI being toned down a little in this respect and given the notifications solely to the NPCs that run up and shout at you. I really like that kind of immersion. It’s something this game does really well and I think it should keep going in that direction!
if its an option you can toggle fine. but I want to be notified of events thanks. If you dont thats fine, I@m happy for you to be able to turn it off, Personally I’d up notification range. Possibly even allow settign up of alerts for major events.
it may be a bug in teh respawn rates,,
but not everything is meant to be solo able.
I like that some areas I cant get into without help, its a nice change from faceroll in most MMOs. Or where I have to use creative tactics to get past to get to a skill point or PoI.
Fast respawns are mostly, in my experience, in areas where its group content.
yes yes, I know you go to the karma vendor, but what Warhammer did right with the public quests was have an instant loot reward for the top 3 ppl that participated
No.
Who contributes more? The one that dps’s all the way through but does not ress people next to them., of the person running round ressing to keep the group alive and so the fight is won?
Does the warrior nuking contribute more or the guardian using support abilities to keep people alive? The elementalist nuking aoe or the mesmer buffing the whole group?
I’d love to see how you pick the “top 3 people”, the current contribution system is already screwed up enough.
Actually one thing Warhammer did get right in their PQ’s was participation. Everyone got counted from healers to damage dealers to tanks. ArenaNet could learn a thing from the Warhammer devs on that. Currently the only real contribution in events is damage. Everything else is worthless. So support classes get the shaft if they use their support skills. This needs looking at asap.
Rift used contribution meters to begin with….it was bad. people just spammed instant buffs to max them> people will always learn to game the system. So Trion did the right thing, ditched it entirely.
I dont see why there shoudl be any competition between players for top contribution in events, they are supposed to be collaborative not competitive.
I’d hope Anet ditch gold silve and bronze events contribution and jsut move to awarding participation. Possibly rewarding per stage of event, so if you do 8/8 waves you get more reward (sightly) than 5/8 waves.
The idea that players should compete for the 3 top spots like the OP suggests is I think a really really bad idea.
Yes people have access to other content, DEs are part of that content, therefore you will get the server population attending world DEs. Dungeons are your friend, they are the ones limited to the number of players and there are DEs in the dungeons, those sound right up your alley.
How about we talk about events rather than dungeons? Event zerging is a problem, agree or disagree?
BTW reading back, if particle effects are your issue, maybe its time to 1. Turn down the graphics or 2. Upgrade the computer
I don’t have an issue with them normally, even in these zergs.
You don’t have a problem when 15+ people are spamming their skills on a boss? Really?
http://gw2wvw.com/main/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/gw2_bwe1043-1.jpg
No amount of graphics tweaks will fix that.
Actually there is one. Rift has an option to show only your spell effects on a boss. problem solved.
Nope, because you need to know what the other players are casting, for combos, AoE heals, and other useful information.
not really, not in a group situation, a simple white circle to indicate a friendly aoe, with maybe a rune or symbol to denote field type is all that is needed at its most simplistic.
I think this thread is pointless anyway, the more I think about it. You are arguing against one of Anets principle desing goals for the game, to get players playing together….
Mesmers are not handicapped when it comes to PvE.
maybe shed some light on how we aren’t? i’m sure i’m not the only one who think this way since there are other posts on the forum about how useful we are during DEs..
we are very useful during DEs, the issue is not with us but how event contribution works.
mesmers pwn in pve, its almost impossible to die, and you can take whole groups of mobs easy, sure our immediate nukes are low, but you can stack conditions on multiple enemies at once and the dmg ramps up.
Could you expand on why you think mesmers are lacking in pve?
]
edit- ok your last post was nto up when I started mine!
An option for on demand burst woudl be nice, but I dont think thats really the issue, I think the main issue is the way contribution works (its a stupid system as Rift proved and thankfully ditched entirely).
