Turrets are the worst if them. High dmg and much harder to take down due to structures not being crittable. Typically ill just spam cluster bombs while LoSing until all the AI is dead. But if they drop supply crate im outsie
Since you said you liked shamans and rogues in WoW my three suggestions would be a dagger/dagger elementalist, a thief, and a DPS guardian
2nd page bug fixing
Dat DPS
PU condition.
T3 asuran chest, aetherblade/AC/rubicon shoulders
For what game mode?
You’ve got 2 categories: power and condition
Then within those 2 you have several subcategories such as offensive condition, defensive condition, hybrid, berserker axe/GS, berserker hammer. There are TONS of viable roaming builds for warriors. So pick one and i can tell you more about it
Entangle has a 120 sec CD. On your picture there are 113 seconds remaining on the CD. The vines that it summons can be very easily broken, especially if those people are intent on chasing you and cleaving/spamming AoE. They had 7 second to break those vines. The most likely thing is you immobilized everyone, but due to all the cleave and AoE flying around they broke the vines instantly
for faksake because of these guys the thief class look like a beat up class,STOP THE QQ AND STOP THE NERF we have no more things to sacrifice for your QQing.
Honestly im sick of ppl like u, thiefs are OP. Get 10 thiefs and roam wvw who can stop you? even 30 people wont beat it. No more invis is what I say
Right…until the 30 people turn out to be the hammer train kitten ing around
It did happen. The warrior was just immune to it because of berserker stance. Nice PM btw
You mashed it. Otherwise you would have checked his buff bar, our buff bar, and looked what he was doing. You would have seen the berserker stance and waited for it before mashing entangle. But you didnt wait and are now complaining how ranger elites are broken, when in fact you just got countered. However this thread will go nowhere. So i bid you good day
What others? I see only the warrior, ranger, and the rangers pet. The ranger is way put of range for entangle. Entangle works fine. You just can’t mash it whenever you feel like and have to look wether people are blocking or evading, or youre blinded. Hard i know
You used it while they had beserker stance up. Makes them immune to conditions for a few seconds. Basically you used your elite at the worst time possible while playing bear bow ranger.
So an Elite is not an Elite it is a “maybe”.
What’s that got to do with the others? His stance doesn’t say it gives the same to others in the tooltip or the wiki.
I don’t have these issues on any other character – why the Ranger???
No. Your elite applies immobilize and bleeding, both of which are conditions. Berserker stance, which the warrior had on makes them immune to all conditions for 8 seconds. Pay attention to these things
54,000 health what….? And entangle will miss if its blocked, blinded, or evaded
Legendary weapons are account bound just like ascended accessories.
You can only wield 1 incinerator, but by using the wardrobe feature you are able to transmutate some other daggar into incinerator and thereby you are able to dual wield them.
I’m not sure about that.
I saw many people, who wield two incinerator at the same time and this long before the wardrobe feature. But now its easier.
The reason for that is those people crafted 2 legendaries
Hambow doesn’t need a guide….
Eh…its a hot join. I dont blame him
its even happening in soloq/teamq which is annoying.
That i agree with
i dunno man as a hybrid … ok i swapped the stats to celestial to have a look at what happens, you lose 10% crit rate and gain 5k hp, a bit of toughness, 500 healing and some ferocity… so i mean its not as glassy but id think the stat efficiency would be better for a hybrid build like this?
honestly im just not a big fan of mixing power gear and condi gear, i feel like precision is very weak as a main stat (its a secondary on all your gear while zerk and rabid have no other overlap, so its kinda the “main focus” of your set)…
you dont have any videos do you? i know i wish i was a bit more motivated to record some of my own gameplay.
Well if i could be motivated to work towards celestial then i probably would. I feel like precision is pretty important for nades, as its a lot of smaller hits instead of one big hit. You want all those smaller hits to crit or you lose a lot of dmg potential. However if i do ever get celestial ill try it out. And no, i dont have any videos as my laptop gets crazy laggy whenever i try. You wouldn’t even see fights, itd just be a blurry slideshow. Perhaps sometime in the future
24 hours later and no replies? I have to admit i expected at least a few comments/discussion about this
Why would anyone roam with pets that are stuck in place? You don’t see many MM necked roaming, and their pets at least move. Turrets dont even move and anyone your fighting will just kite away from them
Eh…its a hot join. I dont blame him
Again?
BTW, how is D/D doing nowadays, against other thief builds and other classes? I’ve seen this vid and got REALLY impressed.
D/D is really inferior to d/p unless youre really good with the stow weapon trick and landing CnD
6/6/0/0/2 d/d for bosses, Sw/p for trash. Keep signet of agility at pretty much all times, other good ones are SR (for skipping) or smokescreen (for skipping or projectile reflects). Assassins signet is fairly good as well. Save the active on it for bosses <25% HP and spam heart seeker. All berserker gear, scholar runes, life steal food. Be aware the main thing a thief brings to a group is trash mob skipping, so know the places where thats helpful
Also the rotation for d/d is CnD?backstab?1 full auto chain?repeat. For Sw/p pistol whip does slightly more DPS than the auto chain, however the difference in dmg is very slight. On top of that the sword auto gives perma weakness, so that if an attack does somehow sneak through, its not going to hit hard at all. so youre better off saving your initiative to benefit from 25 in crit strikes, as well as the blind field helps your whole team stay alive. However if you do somehow get stuck in a boss fight with Sw/p pistol whip is the way to go, since bosses are basically immune to blinds. Dont just spam it tho, watch animations to get the best use of it. In case you didnt know, pistol whip evades all attacks for the second part of the skill. Signet of malice is also a pretty good choice of heal with Sw/p, due to pistol whip hitting multiple times, and healing up with crit procs and that is great when trash can’t even touch you cus theyre permablinded. Keep a shortbow on hand as well, just not as your main weapon. Cluster bomb is essentially a spammable blast finisher, which is awesome to use in fire fields to stack up might, water fields to heal everyone up, or smoke fields to skip a certain part of the dungeon (thats where smokescreen comes in) below is a video guide

Recently ive been testing out this build while solo roaming and its worked out very well. So im going to share it with you guys. Without further ado here’s the link
This build is fairly glassy, with absolutely 0 points in inventions or alchemy. However the sheer amount of pressure, both power and condition dmg is absolutely insane. Some stats on this build: with perma 6stacks of might from sigil of battle.
- 2.1k power
-2460 toughness
- 1200 condi dmg
-54% crit chance
- 182% crit dmg
- 15k health
- 85% condi duration
You also have access to EVERY SINGLE CONDITION IN THE GAME!!! You can also apply all these conditions within the first few seconds of a fight. Since im taking modified ammunition in firearms this adds up to a 24% dmg multiplier. In addition im using grenades with explosive powder and sitting duck which is essentially a perma 25vuln. So we now have a near permanent 49% dmg multiplier. On top of that 25 in fire arms gives us another 5% dmg modifier to bleeding foes. This is always on. In total you have a near full uptime on 54% dmg modifiers. This brings your power dmg up to almost that of a full zerk build while also providing some very strong AoE condi pressure, almost that of a full condi build.
The nightmare runes are a perfect addition to this build. The 15% condi duration is awesome, as is the fear, and thus another condi for modified ammo. However with our condi duration the fear also lasts for 4 seconds, which is a massive amount of time to get skills off. Generally once the fear goes off, that opponent is screwed and theres nothing they can do about it.
Elixir S is a mandatory stunbreaker, and the toolbelt skill is amazing for either getting the jump, or making a retreat. Nades are mandatory as well, due to the sheer amount of AoE power and conditions they can put out. Toolkit is very good, and is the more defensive version of the build. Bombs also synergize very well with this build, however they leave you very open to bursts and arent really defensive at all. Generally i only switch to bombs when taking camps, but the amount of AoE pressure provided with both bombs and nades really is a force to be reckoned with.
Again, this is a lot glassier than the typical build youll find here. The goal is to absolutely overload the opponent with conditions and power before they can even react, and when they do itll be too late as theyll have simply taken too much dmg, which can be reapplied almost instantly. If they do somehow survive the first initial overloads then you can use elixir S to reset a bit and get the fight in your favor. However just because this is glassy doesnt mean you can’t 1vX well. The sheer amount of AoE dmg means multiple enemies will often fall over at the same time, as the high conditions and power are simply too much to deal with.
Thanks for reading this far, and i hope you all enjoy the build. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to voice them below and ill try to get back as soon as possible.
I like this build.
Watch people like sizer on twitch. 2/0/0/6/6 is the current s/d meta
Sizer fanboying lol..
Watching him play drastically improved my gameplay, so im just giving advice :P

OP?
autohit:
less dps than the bombkit auto or ele staff#2:
short range and even less dmg than the FT #2
statistically a target will have less than 4 stacks of confusion from the auto, so you get additional 4k dmg, which is even less than a point black blunderbuss#3:
barely compensates the rifles missing netshot and is on a long cd… also even with berserk stats you will not crit for more than ~2.4k dmg#4:
welp, that should actually be increased on a 25sec cd… still it only buffs / debuffs for 5 sec and deals again less dmg than FT #2#5:
powerfull in a group and definitively the skill of choice to pull people off walls in wvw, but for one engi alone or 1v1 duels this skill is by far too weak to be considered OP. also the long cd compensates the 5sec invulnerability easily, especially since you will not be able to perform any action but to activate the second effect of this skill, which is will even with full 10 stacks confusion deal less dmg than BoB, and since it’s a knockdown (not a knockback) you will not even be able to clear a point effectively.I thought about it as some kind of hybrid weapon that allows both condi and power-builds. Ofc this skill-set would profit allot from bombkit #3 and toolkit #3.
Just a small comparison:
Necros have better and more effective ways to apply weakness & blind
Thieves have more effective ways of applying blind
And ofc mesmers are still the unchallenged masters of applying confusion. So nope, I don’t think that this staff would be OP, but a fun addition to our versatility.
The #1 is ranged and only slightly less dmg than the bomb kit. Thats slightly OP. on top of that punishing players for using skills by applying perma 4 stacks of confusion.
The #2 doesn’t sound bad, until you factor in things like concussion bomb, prybar, perplexity runes, and the auto and #4 skill. That would have this skill doing upwards of 8-10k dmg which for a #2 ability is a bit much. I guess it also depends on the cast time. Then if you combo this with the #4 youre 1-2shotting people. Do you realize how much 2400 base dmg is? Thats near the same as a mind wrack or eviscerate.
(edited by Carpboy.7145)
Yep.
You can with the mesmer utility skill portal. However it won’t work porting across the entire map or something as it has a max range to it. Other than that no
The class is not solely based around firearms, but also around alchemy, gadgets, turrets and explosives. Basically the engineer the the mad guy sitting in his basement and inventing all sorts of deadly little toys, made from scrap and used parts.
actually warrior fulfills already the “marksman” aspect of the rifle since he has access to rapid fire or sniper like attacks that you would get as military training.
about the skills you came up with, they sound great as they are, but there is no weapon in the game that is not used by multiple classes at the same time…
it maybe sounds a bit crazy, but I’d like to have access to staff as engi.
the skills would be:
Auto-attack: Polarize
channeled attack for 1 sec
no projectile
range 1200.
hits 3 times / deals 400 base dmg w/o power and up to 1200 with full power based stats per hit.
each hit has a 33% chance to apply 2 stacks of confusion for 5sec#2: Depolarize
8sec cd
range 600
90° conic AoE / hits up to 3 targets
deals 500 base dmg / 1500 with full power stats
applies 5sec blind / weakness
consumes all confusion stacks on the target and triggers their dmg 5 times for the amount they would have dealt otherwise on the usual way.#3: Charged ground:
15sec cd
player-centered aoe
radius 900
deals 400 base dmg / 1200 with full power stats to up to 5 targets.
cripples all targets for 4 seconds
if a target has confusion on it, it gets immobilize for 2 seconds and crippled for 6 seconds.
grants 10sec swiftness to allies#4: Overcharge
20sec cd
player centered aoe
radius 900
deals 800 base dmg / 2400 with full power stats to up to 5 targets
applies 5 stacks of confusion and 5 sec blind / weakness to targets
grants 3 stacks of might for 10 sec, 5 seconds furry and 5 seconds vigor to allies#5: Chaotic discharge
40sec cd / 1.5 sec channeled skill / skill activates after the channeling is completed
player centered aoe
radius 1200
immobilizes the player for 5 seconds
grants invulnerability to the player for 5 seconds
disables all skills but staff #5
pulls up to 5 targets towards the player
places an player-centered AoE:
[radius 900 / duration 5 sec
targets inside this AoE get hit up to 10 times (once every 0.5 sec)
each hit deals 200 base dmg / 600 with full power stats.
each hit will randomly apply 0.5sec immobilize OR 1sec cripple.
each hit will apply weakness for 1 sec
each hit will apply 1 stack of confusion for 10sec]the player has the option to activate the skill #5 a 2nd time within the 5sec timeframe
this action will abort the immobilize and the invulnerability instantly and enable all other skills again.
every target within a 900 radius will be knocked down.
consumes all confusion stacks on all targets and triggers their dmg 5 times for the amount they would have dealt otherwise on the usual way.
Not OP as hell at all…
Respect his OP man. Not cool
Funniest kill ever? Thieves using their heal withdraw and falling off a cliff
Guys just look at his post history. Here’s an awesome sample from a couple days ago
i disargee completeley with your post, first of all you say they have a master plan well guess what im a master man, you think i like to use cups nah i like to drink out of cans. Call me stan I live with my dog in a caravan and its my jam that i play, everday all the time so dont try and say that i aint got no hay in my barn, then say that im barney youll get it from me with my thief back stab you like a leaf from a tree not for free , pay the price thats what youll get see.
Even soldiers, valk, cavalier, celestial, all have their place
Warrior is the easiest class to solo with actually.
The guide purple miku put together is mostly targeting people that are already level 80, but it has a lot of information that you could make use of:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Guide-for-DPS-build-dungeon-solos-more/first#post3712058
Generally speaking, get to love the greatsword. For roaming around on your own, you’ll probably want to use greatsword and swap to axe + warhorn most of the time, occasionally swapping out axe for sword for when you want to travel quicker (savage leap).
what do you mean P/D condi thieves are too passive? They are a killing machine
Yep. And they kill extremely passively
Air. 1.2k dmg every 3sec>anything else
I’ve had a 499 500 before. Most frustrating thing ever
I run Celestial ascended with traveler’s runes, with Knights trinkets (S/D 2/6xx/6) . Celestial is also good when using my Hybrid build. Celestial even though it did get nerfed, is still viable for Thief.
Yeah but he said in PVE. Berserker is the only way to go in pve
Hmm… IZerker→mirror blade→swap→iswordsman→mind wrack maybe throw in a mantra of pain
Basically its the same. However in some cases for other professions (warrior and ele) strength runes are actually better than scholar
Most of these sound extremely OP, particularly surprise entry, trained reflexes, and rewarding daring. Sw/d thief would be so insanely OP i dont even wanna think about it
