Well, given their rabidly misogynistic ideals, I’d find it VERY odd if a Son of Svanir were to willingly follow Scarlet.

The Sons of Svanir aren’t misogynistic. It’s a brotherhood/fraternity in the vein of the Order of the Water Buffalo from the Flintstones.

Women can’t join because Jormag literally will not accept them. Jormag’s corruption can’t take them.

At best, it stunts the female norn her connection to the Spirits of the Wild and prevents her being able to take a beast form.

She remains uncorrupted and is otherwise well and rather kitten ed off about it to understate it (Jora). At worst, she simply dies.

Norn males on the other hand, can be corrupted into terrible beasts.

It isn’t Jormag that won’t take them – it’s the Sons of Svanir that won’t accept them because of what Jora did in GW1.

In GW1, in the Eye of the North expansion, you join Jora – a Norn female – on one of the major pieces of the EotN storyline; the player helps slay her corrupted brother (called the “Nornbear”). Her brother’s real name is Svanir, and the cult “Sons of Svanir” were named after him. Because of Jora killing him, the Sons of Svanir won’t accept women into their cult.

Spectral Walk port across WvW map

I think Spectral Walk is the coolest spell the Necromancer has; allows us to survive jumps off of cliffs, allows us to undo mistakes in jumping puzzles, etc. Using it after waypointing is just another cool feature of it.

Many 2h actually does lower damage than 1h.. Example:

Warrior gs vs axe/x.
Guardian gs vs sword/x

Both war and guard gs are offensive, and both deals lower damage than 1h offensives..

I hear second sigils coming to 2h weapons, but i don’t know when its going to happen.

Well, warrior greatsword should be doing less damage than their other weapons because it gives the highest mobility in the game (3+5 makes you run very far very quickly, especially if you have swiftness or another movement speed buff). Whereas their axe is really only for damage and doesn’t give any mobility at all; if greatsword did as much damage as axes, there would be no reason to use axes because they wouldn’t give the power to escape/chase that the greatsword gives.

If you look at the map in Twilight Arbor now, the new Aetherblade map overlaps the old forward/up path (the part where you choose up goes to the new Aetherblade path). It seems they literally deleted/overwrote the old F/U path.

You have got to be kidding by saying it’s possible to do the F/U path on a level 55 character… Even though the dungeon allows you in, you’ll never beat the final boss with the little damage you have.

Canach would never join Scarlet. He even attacked a Molten Alliance Facility himself (which is where he got the Fused Gauntlets he wore at Southsun); it is likely that Canach would fight against Scarlet directly if given the chance.

Bloated creepers are creatures (norn looking giants) walking around during the event that explode and cause a ton of damage and conditions. You need to avoid these during the Tequatl event; you also have to kill Tequatl, not just avoid the creepers.

Improving the turret design

My problem with the turrets is that they’re basically there to replace the dedicated healer role; the zerg just stand in place and waits for the turrets to “cleanse” them. The same as it would be with a dedicated healer sitting back and healing people. It ’s a boring role and no one wants to do it (and very few do it well).

Yeah, after completing The Sunbringer title, I really see no reason to try at Tequatl anymore. The chest rewards are absolute trash for the amount of effort required to defeat Tequatl; I could make more gold farming level 1 mobs in Caledon Forest for 5 minutes than from what Tequatl’s chest gives me.

Yes, for an open world boss it is really difficult; if it were instanced, it would make more sense. The fact that my server – Blackgate – had to guest to Eradon Terrace (a low population server) to defeat the dragon again (after everyone started guesting to Blackgate and flooding the main blackgate server, disallowing our own server’s people to get in) when we did it shows that instancing this dragon just makes much more sense.

I was lucky to get all of the achievements in one go (other than ones that don’t require defeating the dragon). I really don’t want to have to fight that abomination again. Even though it was kind of fun and very exciting to work with 150 people on Teamspeak from multiple servers, it was still just a bit much for an open world fight where anyone can join in.

Wait a week for a general strategy to form and for people to understand the fight. If it’s still too “hard” at that point, then consider nerfing it.

People thought AC and CoF were too hard and begged for nerfs. Didn’t happen, still turned out easy/farmable by the general population.

Dungeons have infinite time, allowing you to explain to the others what to do; tequatl gives 15 minutes to organize 100 people, many of which won’t listen to or care about what a commander says.

The image has the letters “TA” in it. It’s likely that it’s the release for the remade Twilight Arbor dungeon. I remember recently, an Anet employee stated that TA was high on their list of dungeons that need a remake, so it makes sense that it’s first.

Even if they guaranteed a legendary weapon, I still wouldn’t go back to this fight. It’s just not fun.

In any event, there’s no way to beat it with the many under-leveled people and people with bad armor, and with the many people on the map just not participating in the event (like those hunting down the teeth clues for the achievement, and others just playing the game for world exploration or whatever else they might want to do there).

Here you go, I made group of screenshots spoiling a ton of what happens if you go through with using the code. This is a full guide with screenshots that I made below on this secret storyline.


1. Look at rock at the genie is standing on for the code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A).
2. Go to the lab where the living story icon is and interact with the machine there.
3. Enter the code into the machine (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A).
4. Be teleported into an instance.
5. Sabotage the machine, like the genie seems to have wanted you to do.
6. Enjoy the long cinematic; stick around a little after it for some extra dialog that runs for a while.
7. Go back to Moto for an extra bit of dialog just for the extra story.

Yeah, it was hurting my eyes really badly when I was looking at it. I really do hope they change it. I don’t have problems with the graphics on much of anything in this game, but this lava is terrible to look at.

Seriously, ANet made dodge/evade too good. And so to challenge the caffeinated squirrels that make up the hardcore section of the community they have to keep piling on the dodge or die attacks.

This because making CC and heal actually be able to matter will make things “faceroll” easy…

Lupicus dead in 13 seconds… Making healing at the right time more important would make this game take more skill, rather than just getting tons of passive damage and quickness to trivialize and faceroll through anything you want.

Anyway, I do have to say the one-shot kills in this game has become pretty annoying; it’s a sign of just how lazily designed so many things in this game are.

NPC Guards need some love!

The guards are PvE – they are only there to make the place look busy when no-one’s about.
I say get rid of them, all of them – if a server can’t be bothered to defend it’s camps, choke points and towers properly they deserve to lose.

Some servers don’t have high enough population at certain times of the day to even cover one camp, let alone guard everything on the map.

I don’t agree with buffing them, though; this is a PvP mode and the NPC guards should still play a minimal role.

According to Devon (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Lock-server-transfers-ASAP/first#post2743478), your rewards will be based on the server you first log into once the season has started.

He said that you have to complete some sort of meta achievements to get the rewards, but doesn’t this mean that someone can complete those achievements and then transfer to another server and troll them to ensure their server wins?

I’m not sure on the details of this league system though, so I could be incorrect in this. That’s why I made the thread title a question.


More context on why I am posting this question: There is currently a troll (who I will not name because it’s against the forum rules), but he is on Blackgate. He is a low level character with a commander icon, a guild he made called Ballin Ballistas and he runs around placing random siege on places (like on top of supply depots and other annoying places) to cap siege on the server and also wastes THOUSANDS of supply in towers/keeps. If this league system goes through like this, won’t it encourage even more of this?

Arenanet does nothing about this troll on Blackgate. Right now it doesn’t really matter, because winning doesn’t mean anything; however, with the upcoming rewards it will mean a huge cost if trolls like these are left unchecked for so long like this one on Blackgate is.

They said on the stream that they’re sending an item with the update than can separate the legendary from the other item you transmuted it with; you can then change the stats on the legendary.

After that, you can probably re-transmute it and keep the new stats you changed it too. But it’s likely you’ll have to de-transmute it each time you want to change the stats, since a transmuted legendary item is different from a legendary.

Super Adventure Box is literally a completely separate game – inside of Guild Wars 2. I even used a level 2 character (in addition to other characters) in it when I played it; there is no difference between you and anyone else.

However, you can gain more power within the SAB itself; things like extra hearts (health) by beating the first world, extra powers (like an elite skill), upgraded powers (upgrade current skills that you’ve collected to become better). All of it is only earned within SAB itself and the upgrades are permanent (and character bound, not account bound).

Scarlet, like she calls herself now, is somewhat of a different person after seeing these powers; perhaps she took over one of the god’s powers like Kormir? Kormir acted like a new person after she took Abaddon’s powers, almost not even recognizing her own name it seemed.

Sylvari have a bioluminescent glow. I think it’s just referring to the fact that she used to have a golden glow, but changed it to crimson after awakening to reflect her new self.

The story on that part is talking about when Scarlet saw the Eternal Alchemy; an asura in game (the one that helps you into Scarlet’s Playhouse I think) mentions that Scarlet claims to have seen the Eternal Alchemy, and that’s what the beginning of this short story is talking about.

Time to change armor?

Yeah, I’m getting pretty annoyed by it too. I had to join a group to rescue Faren in Scarlet’s dungeon in time; there was just no way I could do it quickly enough as my necromancer. And because the item to access scarlet’s dungeon is soulbound, I couldn’t switch to one of my other characters to do the thing..

1. It’s Focused on Zerker Builds: Seeing the damage that some zerker builds do against Liadri (and all enemies) is just ridiculous; why is it that my vitality/toughness/healing power all mean nothing against her? Seriously, I might as well have worn magic find/boon duration level 1 armor.

2. Lazy Design/Nearly Untested: The Liadri fight is the laziest design I’ve ever seen in my life; instead of making something challenging, they make her kill you in one hit if you don’t dodge; her one hit kills make it so that so many of my stats are just pointless and make me feel terrible for having chosen them (my Vitality/Toughness). The only necromancers that can beat her ones that use Sigils of Energy; I’m almost certain it’s impossible without them or at least Runes of the Adventurer (50% endurance regen on Heal)… or both.

3. No Clarity: In addition, it’s nearly impossible for me to see her AoE circles on that floor (some of them literally just don’t show up), those orbs pull me and my necromancer doesn’t have stability or evade abilities to stop it and many of my ranged attacks can’t hit it; how is a necromancer supposed to dodge that many things? It’s just impossible. Dodge everything – literally impossible without runes/sigils that give energy. When people are below, it makes it laggy. And one more thing is that she causes a screen flare that hurts my eyes; I had to turn off post processing to make it go away.

4. It’s Punishing: On top of that, they punish you way too much if you die against her; repair cost, waypoint cost, you have to walk back to ring from the waypoint and you have to use a guantlet ticket to try beating her in the first place. If it wasn’t for the punishing part, I’d try the fight over and over until I could get it… But I’m not going to pay tons of gold in waypoint/repair costs and walk back over and over just to fight against a badly designed boss.

5. A Solution: Liadri should have been with Spvp armor (no repairs, no waypoint costs, no walking back, no worrying about stats since that can be changed on a whim with no gold in Spvp). The only cost should have been gauntlet tickets. Seriously, what kind of queen murders her citizens and foreign guests with her guard robots?

You’re supposed to eat the meat he throws on the ground. It makes you do a a lot of damage. 3-4 of them will allow you to kill Strugar/Chomper really quickly.

Why would a resistance against Queen Jennah go and attack Lion’s Arch, the peaceful Zephyrites and various other people not even remotely connected to her in any way? It doesn’t make sense.

In pve i found them kinda useless for conditionmancer

Lich Form – Great animation and beautiful transform, but have only power attack without damage conditions (only chill)

Plague – it didn’t make you invulnerable, so you just stay and apply bleed/cripple/blind with big cooldown. I’ll apply more conditions and deal more damage with just scepter+dagger (Btw it’s only usable underwater elite)

Golem – weak and thin without MM build.

Now look at Warrior – 2 of 3 Elite have use in pve – signet for might+fury+swiftness for long time and gave nice burst and second is Warbanner with same buffs as signet + emergency ressurect allies.

p.s. sorry for bad english.

Plague’s 2 ability is one of the most powerful things in this game. Use it to permanently blind enemies – which pretty much makes you invulnerable because they can’t hit you. Additionally, Plague form increases your health by almost 100% and grants stability for its duration. And, if you use the Chilling Darkness trait it also chills enemies when you blind them.

Which is what is supposed to happen. Blocks are supposed to, you know, block things, you think they took the blocks so they could get hit anyway? No. So you have to give up 20 traits to get a very strong ability, making 4 abilities unblockable.

My point is that necromancers have no cleave weapon – so the 20 points is pretty much required to make up for that against enemies who block things; if the marks get blocked, all of your cleave damage is gone because you can’t spam your marks a second time if they’re blocked.

Every other class has weapons that can spam a cleave autoattack, which necromancers do not have (with the exception of the very unreliable projectile on the staff, which pretty much never hits anything).

Because many people are perfectly happy with the change. I think moving it to master was questionable, but I know a lot of people just got rid of the trait altogether and adapted to the new mark size, which is big enough.

The staff is more than just a giant aoe weapon; necromancers have no cleave weapon, so most necromancers (including myself) just spam all 4 staff marks to cleave through enemies. However, if they’re blocked all of our cleave damage is gone. So, we have to invest 20 points into that trait line just to make them unblockable.

1. They said what she reveals will change the game world forever. Therefore, if she’s one of the 6 gods and reveals herself as such, the world will instantly change. None of the other 5 gods care about humans or Tyria in general very much, so only Kormir really makes sense with this.

My biggest problems with WvW are:

1) Skill lag – makes the game completely unplayable at times. This is the most important and problematic one of them all.

2) World XP is not shared on your account, meaning I’d have to grind for hundreds of hours per character just to max out the world traits. I feel like having extra characters holds me back rather than helping me get ahead – which is just ridiculous and should never happen. I like to have fun with the different classes in WvW, but the world xp discourages that heavily; they should do the same thing they did with the account bank and make it so the next time we log into our characters, it banks our World XP to an account based progression rather than character based.

3) No new maps or new mechanics being released to make WvW more interesting or fun. I’m tired of looking at the same two maps, one of which is repeated between three zones.

I feel like arenanet should add more story on destiny’s edge, ESPECIALLY Caithe, Zojja and Eir. We’ve seen Logan Thackary and Rytlock in some of the living story, but none of Caithe, Zojja or Eir. While on the topic of them, I’ve also noticed that there isn’t really many sylvari/asura/norn characters in the living story thus far, maybe just Braham and Canach but that was it. I would like to see what Caithe, Zojja and Eir have been doing since the death of Zhaitan and give more liveliness or information other than just knowing that they are in your home instance 100% of the time.

Eir was in the Flame and Frost living story; Braham is her son…
