Well, there’s a lot to do in the game other than amassing skill points, so I don’t see that as a problem and many of us have enough skill points for multiple legendaries, so there are still points that are more or less useless and could be used in a meaningful way for players.
Greatsword on everyone.
I’ll probably buy it, yeah.
Could we please get account-wide skill points with the shiny new expansion?
It would be so great for my alts, plus the new revenant character, if we could spend our existing skill points sitting uselessly on our 80s however we see fit.
What was *not* anounced for the new expansion

So, we get gliders…hm…just like Archeage. lol Too bad we can’t build our own farms for the cooking craft, as well.
Yeah, I thought it really odd that I logged in after a long absence for the Wintersday Festival and saw that I no longer have hardly any daily options. It’s like they want to take all the choices away. NEWSFLASH – choices in a game are a good thing, not a bad thing.
I wanted to create a toy mini griffon this year. But I just did Tixx’s dungeon and got nothing but presents, so I assume this feature was taken out of the game. Too bad, I guess.
If they’ve given up on this game already, it must be because there are newer games they’re putting their money and time into. The LS updates are very tiny, and right now I’m just trying to figure out how to buy the 10 new cooking recipes without spending hours grinding a small amount of content.
I’d like to buy the new cooking recipes in Dry Top, but the currency prices for all 10 are fairly steep even if you’re buying from tier 4 vendors. Any suggestions on how to quickly and efficiently amass the currency without spending hours grinding?
Thank you for your suggestions.
What discovery items do you need for the nopale? You listed what is needed for the prickly pear but not the nopale. So what are they?
The Pavillion is temporary content, yes. And the only thing the Pavilion champs challenge is one’s patience. The Gauntlet, however, is another thing.
I’ve noticed this on the new Phoenix skins. Nearly all the listings for these show completely inaccurate information.
Unidentified dye prices are also not 1g each as predicted and most likely will never be worth more than the 20-25 silver they are now.
It’s so that people would buy gems and convert them to gold. This is on one of their official advertisement pages.
This is why they do what they do. Players that have a hard time earning gold in-game for what they want will invariably open their pocketbooks to end the pain. This is why the flow of gold and loot into players’ hands is extremely limited and always will be. If you like playing MMOs for loot, there are many that do it better than this one.
What do you mean by, “it is no longer allowed to earn gold?” AFAIK, there has never been an investment fund ability in GW2. There isn’t even a way to earn interest on my money in the bank.
I think all games can develop the boredom factor if you’ve played it enough. MMOs are especially this way due to our ability to burn through content faster than it can be made, although developer/company laziness can exacerbate this reality.
There’s nothing wrong with getting tired of the grind in a game and taking a break. MMOs have a tendancy to suck the fun out of things now and again, and when a game does that, I take my time and money and play another one. There’s so many to choose from and freshness can be a good thing. Sometimes I come back to the game I left and sometimes I don’t. The point is, this isn’t the only fun game, so have fun trying another one for a while.
So would I. It’s ridiculous how imbalanced the ascended mats are. Bloodstone dust has become just an excuse by many to buy more vault space to store more dust. lol
I’d love to unload it via TP, toss it in the guild bank, or heck, just vendor it.
As long as the China market doesn’t go belly up, I don’t think they’re too concerned with everyone else. They could lose all their other players and still be making more money than they did at launch.
An in-game comm would be convenient and player-friendly. But Anet has already stated that’s not of interest to them.
I’m getting my achievements done now because so many people have already stated in chat that once their achieves are done, they’re not coming back. It’s not worth it, so I seriously doubt anyone will be able to enjoy this content after the initial rush to finish achievements has passed. No one wants to bang on 6 bosses for an hour for 2 measly champ bags.
I have to admit that mini collectors do seem to be some of the most hardcore players in this game that I have ever encountered.
The QP is not worth your effort. There are still almost zero loot drops from the vets and you get maybe 1-2 champ bags for killing 6 ramped up mobs that (from my experience all day yesterday and this morning) take anywhere around 50 minutes to an 1 1/2 to finish.
The only difference from last year is, we’re still mashing button 1, but we’re doing it for 20 minutes or so per champ instead of 2 minutes per champ and we’re doing it for almost no reward.
Personally, I always liked the wvw champ trains better than anything in pve. So much better loot, so much more of it, and so far it hasn’t really been nerfed.
The lack of ability to map farming nodes is causing far more inflation than the Queensdale train ever could. I’m selling mats I’d had stored for months at 10x the price I could have sold them before the megaserver change.
I doubt there will be a big run on FGS since they nerfed that one down to only 3 champs.
I’m not sure why you think you need to feel something. The China release doesn’t really benefit NA/EU players much, as the two versions are separate. China was targeted for its high population (and therefore high earning potential) and hopes that they would be more gung-ho about the game’s buy-your-way-out-of-grind than their current customers have so far.
As frustrating as the nerfs and lack of rewards in the game are for many players, as long as Anet is getting what it considers enough money through gem sales, it’s all good from their point of view. Will eventually enough players leave the game due to no rewards for playing that Anet realizes they made a mistake? Possibly. Although large businesses aren’t necessarily known for learning from their mistakes.
See, that’s an assumption you make. Nothing says that people that ran the train will now spread out to other areas. They might simply leave the game.
They left the oak because it’s part of the line-up of events preceding Shadow Behemoth. It wasn’t left due to a random comment about Queensdale needing at least one champ for the zone.
They made this decision based on more than one player’s disgruntled comment. But if it makes you feel like a special snowflake…:) Go for it!
Let’s hope the permanent content in S2 is better than Southsun Cove.
I’m guessing there was more than one whether it was advertised that way or not.
Time will tell.
Although, if all their new zones are like Southsun Cove, they might as well save their time and effort. The map has been largely dead since it was launched. Karka Queen is the only thing keeping it from rolling over and imitating Orr.
The economy works like it does because of the gems/gold conversion. They rabidly protect the economy and nerf truly profitable reward activities or limit the rewards to once per day to protect this. They don’t want players making legendaries with in-game money that they earned playing the game. They’re trying to create an environment in which players buy gems, convert them to gold, then do whatever players usually do in a game like craft gear and buy weapons and armor.
The real question is whether Anet feels new life is needed here. The obvious answer is no. They’re not adding content because they consider their gem store sales to be sufficient right now. Player opinion has nothing to do with it because players are already voting with their pocketbooks and the numbers are fine from Anet’s point of view.
Don’t they normally close threads where whiners whine about whining?
IBTL
Free = available, which = numbers. Quality has little to nothing to do with it.
Good patch except for their fail Queen’s Pavilion. Possibly the bazaar section is fun, though. Have to see about that one.
Yeah, they nerfed the train. Everyone that has played this game since launch knew this was going to happen because they nerf every single farm. There’s always a publicity reason, though the real reason is to limit players’ ability to earn money in game therefore increasing their sales of gems/gold transfers.
Yeah, this pretty much sums it up. The pavilion is not worth the time or effort. Last year’s event was a lot of fun, drew a crowd, and was rewarding. This year, the event is harder but without a corresponding increase in reward. What truly perplexes me is why Anet employees want to waste their time developing content no one is going to do beyond the initial time it takes to drop in and say, “Yeah, this sucks,” and leave never to return.
I seriously doubt they will leave 2 of the 8 crafts with no way to level to 500. No one knows how soon they will add this, though.
You can earn all the achievements for all the crafts, delete every single character you used to do this, and still keep the achievements, so that’s not an issue.
Technically, they could require us to buy our levels, traits, zone access, etc. from the store and since in-game gold can be turned into gems, nothing can really be considered P2W.
I start doing my own CoF runs when fully 50% of the time since I started doing dungeons, the leader freaked out repeatedly about anything he deemed a mistake and left before the rest of the group could open the chest. This happened once when our group failed to complete the run in his required 5 min.
I keep hearing that since GW2 China, there’s been a rise in hacked and stolen accounts. Is this true and if so, why are there more? Can stolen accounts and deleted characters and missing gold be replaced?
I need the Lyssa boss for my trait, but I never know when it spawns. How can I know when to get my trait?
More players making more gold equals higher prices, simple economics!
Actually, it’s not that simple.
Deleting crafts rather than simply swapping them should be an option.
