There’s nothing unfair about it.
It wouldn’t affect others in the game in any way.

Some people just like to argue. They have no life and nothing better to do. They’re arguments don’t make sense, but that’s to be expected, considering.
Compassion is always better than misdirected passion.
It’s easier for them to ignore the valid ways in which the information was missed, and the easy road is what many people are all about.
TBH, most MMOs suffer from similar problems. Game staff try to keep people interested with various things and it works for some and not for others. Every game has its fanboys that will stick with it no matter what, so gaming companies always have a demographic to fall back on if all else fails. Best advice is to try out something new if this no longer floats your boat. ESO is coming soon and there’ll be others like Wildstar and EQN.

I read the forums’ Audio section and danged if the announcement wasn’t in there.

Diablo 3 is the real competition.
Good one.

TBH, a lot more people than my parents know how old I am…
It would also be easy enough for this new blades ‘n’ such vendor that’s coming to also accept belongings and heirlooms, allowing peeps to trade them in then.
Figured the refugees would be carted out to Southsun Cove and dumped there a la the last set. Only this time, could ya’ll please make the map so it’s actually viable for something other than bad puns and jokes on the forums?
The visuals are great, but I hate the new vistas. They are much worse to get to than the original ones.

Well, yeah. If we have to guest on the most populous world in order to complete the group events, then something is seriously wrong. For the last several events, people have been guesting in droves due to a lack of decent balancing for those events.
Also, there is a limit to how coordinated a zerg of strangers can be. Expecting intricate raid-level coordination from peeps logging in and jumping on to participate in a large group event is again sign of a larger problem.
Opening up new sections of the world would be a good business move. They have all these locations on the map not being used, so it would be odd never to do anything with them. Most games would be adding these regions in a series of Xpacs, but we’ll see what Anet does.

now all of a sudden bringing it back because someone didn’t heed any warnings does nullify that effort.
No, it doesn’t unless that person is psychotic. Most players aren’t so this is a moot argument. They’ll most likely bring them back.
Someone said it was Trahearne’s.

Perhaps someday, GW2 will add permanent content to go with their disposable content. I haven’t entirely given up on the idea of new explorable maps with hearts and so forth, etc.

There really isn’t any nullification going on.
It’ll be interesting to see what they actually offer. So much of what can be gotten with temporary currency from LS events is rather useless.

I’d really like to see this “cleaned up” Orr…

Most players don’t bother with the forums. Those that do usually read something on them like once every several weeks. It’s not a reliable way to disseminate information.
Most skins do not work like the achievement point skins. They are one-time wonders.

The problem with this event’s dependence on body counts is that Anet doesn’t seem to have a good grasp on how many people are actually doing these events at once. If they did, the event would have worked on most worlds and in most overflows.

Wait…there was a title attached to that achievement? What was the title?
GW1 player. Title and achievement were the same thing back then. Mindslip, but still applies. Achievement or title, if it’s too based on luck, it should not be temporary.
you are never going to get 100% completion on achievements in this game.
Oh, come on! I bet there’s thousands of players already that have finished all the achievements except for the infinite ones.
Play the game for fun and not to be OCD.
Do we really need to go down the tired road again that if earning achievement points is a player’s idea of fun, then they are, in fact, already playing the game for fun and thereby making your statement completely pointless?

Nobody likes you, Traherne.
Traherne is evil and everyone knows it.
I wish they’d spend more time on humor and less time on melodrama. They pull off humor so much more reliably.

Every good teacher knows that to use a teaching method that isn’t working for the target audience is insanity. This is why we have brains – to come up with alternative methods that will work.
I don’t think it’s in game yet. They’ll likely add it when? In a couple of months during the next patch?

I agree. They should bring the merchants back briefly for those that missed out. Next time, they should announce it much sooner than they did.
Scarlet: Easy come, easy go. That pretty much sums it up.
By wardrobe, we all mean a function that holds all our armor skins and town clothes skins and keeps them in one location so that we can put them on, switch them out, and show them regardless of the armor and stats we’re wearing. This would not involve transmutation crystals of any kind.
It’s never gonna happen. They already throw ya out if you’re gone too long. That’s all they’re ever gonna do.

Really? You think? With 20 million or so fans of their games? Why wouldn’t they subscribe?
This game really does need a wardrobe function. They would make 10 times the style sales in the store if we could wear and rotate multiple outfits in combat. I have talked to countless players that have said they don’t buy clothes and armor skins from the store for only one reason – no wardrobe.

I see a thread like this every time another set of disposable content disappears. Really, people, have you not yet learned that you should be turning this stuff in BEFORE the last day of the patch?

Anet’s most recent group events have convinced the majority of players that they do not understand the concept of balancing challenging content with doable content using the game’s actual number of players rather than a fantasy number of players they wish the game had. Unless they adjust this faulty perception, achievements that are basically undoable will continue.
People that report AFK players (most players go AFK occasionally during play) as botters have….issues.
I have yet to play a game where the writing was actually real quality. All MMO stories are basically mediocre or worse. I mean, authors like Dan Brown, John Grisham, J.K. Rowling, etc., etc. don’t write for MMOs.

Well, to be fair, nobody said the items we can trade our blades for will be anything we’ll want anyway.
The gem store is like anything else in this world – if you make 7-digit salaries, everything is affordable.
The interesting thing about GW2 is that it’s the one game where we can actually experience complete chaos in our dungeon runs. I mean, you really can’t beat that.
There aren’t really very many heterosexual relationships in this game. Most all the characters are otherwise.
Cash shops are here to stay. I predict it’ll only be a matter of months before the celebrated ESO goes to some version of F2P/Hybrid model. I really wouldn’t pay monthly for this game, no. Can’t think of any MMOs right now that are worth 10-15 bucks a month.
So no word on whether this will be available as new content. Okay…
TL:DR: they need to revamp the cosmetic setup for both gear and town clothes and put in a PvE wardrobe, including making town clothes wearable in combat and accessible to all your alts.
Very good point. A wardrobe system similar to LOTRO’s would be great for this game. As it stands, I would never spend any money for cosmetics that I can’t wear while out in the world fighting or that I can’t add sets to without repeatedly buying armor I don’t need in order to use the skins. Just a waste of money.
Yes, everyone rolls these because basically it’s all you need to play the game and do the dungeons. The other classes are more or less pointless and useless. Dungeon groups of 5 warriors do just fine. What else do you need? Crafting alts?
I doubt they will discourage this behavior since they’ve already stated that they don’t want anyone trading or selling outside the TP, so scams actually work to reinforce their position.
I kind of think Anet’s comments concerning them adding an expansion is mostly to shut the people that want one up. I don’t see them really going through with it.
Time will tell.
