Need to be able to query the API for which worlds are linked together in a match. This will help out TS admins greatly! TY.
It is on the account endpoint and only if they have given you an API key for it.
For an account in T1, my contact list now shows players on servers in other matches listed as being on a T1 map according to the map color. So for example a friend in T3 is listed for me as being on Jade Quarry Desert Borderlands while when seen by a player in T7, he is listed as being on Kaineng Desert Borderlands. Both of those BLs are the blue map.
But why do you care?
Linked world players are going to be in WvW with home world players. For purposes of WvW, there isn’t an overriding reason to restrict them from WvW TS channels. What other reasons would channels be restricted from non-TC players?
TC only meetings. non-TC players as in players TC is fighting as well. They use the API key to detect server world. If they use the API key they’d have to then change the code. There are tons of reasons as to why you’d still have or want security and the ability to detect if someone is playing on your side in any given match up.
As I wrote, follow up on the API forum for the linked world data in the endpoint because it almost certainly is being overlooked just as F2P account status was.

Typically at the professional level it is not needed because such sports are played on an even playing field where skill is somewhat normalized, which WvW is not.

I agree. I’ve spawn-camped before and gotten spawn-camped. I get bored after about 20 minutes. All you get most of the time are spikes. I got better things to do with my time.

I consider it one of the most boring activities in WvW from both sides. When something is boring people leave.
Why didn’t you post this last week?
T2 was still in the process of stabilizing and now it’s turning into a mess again.
T2 is a better match right now than T1 or T3 due to The Rebel Alliance. Transfer to FA and fight for the Balance of the Force!

TC lost a pretty good guild, AAS/sV, to FA last night because of those queues. Old school fights guilds that don’t transfer to the most dominant server in a tier do still exist; huzzah!

By “rotating” TC back into t1, they hope to bring in new faces and new people to change the scene and freshen it up.
You really believe TC, which was in T1 for an entire year and is currently getting stacked with guilds from T1, will bring new faces to T1? I’m confused at your ideas.
I hope not. That doesn’t address stacking at all.
A server alliance mode would address stacking somewhat since a mid tier + a high tier could be paired to take on a stacked server + empty server

None of you make any sense. All he’s said is “population beta”. There’s nothing to beta test when you talk about a server merge because it is just a one-and-done moving of accounts around in a database, a technology they already have. Please think more clearly next time.

funny FA got to T2 with stacking and was talking about moving to T1 now they are complaining about other server stacking lol
If you look at the MOS history; JQ, BG, TC, FA, and SoS have been solidly “upper tier” T1/T3 servers for three years of this game, typically only varying by two tiers. DB and Mag are “upper tier” servers that have been much more volatile in their ranking, but I would still count them.
Anet decided to split the Gold and Silver divisions between T2 and T3 for WvW Tournament and lock servers out from each other despite this history. That was disastrous for the playing population IMHO.

Please wait for the april 19th patch. Hopefully that will put an end to TC’s 3 map queues and mega blobs who are there to damage other’s enjoyment. If this is not remedied and you still feel bad for the TC pugs, then maybe we can help find them a smaller server.

I like the feedback, but sometimes the text gets in the way. WvW sometimes requires a bigger field of view than PvP due to the scale of the battles.
all T2 bullkittenters asking you to transfer now wow… not one of you is saying just wait and see if your server gets merged with another and avoid fees.
That’s possible, but also this player played with my guild on FA before and had a great time last time so it is natural for him to reach out and specifically name FA since he knows people there.
There’s a rumor floating around that transfers will be closed for the upcoming population beta test in the WvW match starting reset after April 19th. Let’s see if we can get a dev response.
If the answer is yes, I’m assuming it is due to new technology that will allow players on different servers to play WvW together without having to transfer, yet this is being interpreted as being stuck. I’m not a fan of speculation gone wild yet we’re already seeing some massive guild movements as a result of this rumor.

Currently reset time is 01:00 UTC which is 9pm/6pm. So leave it that way for DST. Then when Standard time comes back into effect in the fall change reset time to 02:00 UTC which will still be 9pm/6pm.
They can change the reset UTC time because they’ve done it. And it only needs to be done twice a year.
It is a good question to ask. They’ve changed it, but might be a little more involved than we may think. Or may have something to do with global timezones that do not observe daylight savings time (remember when server time was changed from Pacific to UTC?). Just speculation on my part.

T1 perfected the art of roamers roaming in zergs.
T2 roaming is meh atm. It is a combination of T1 style roaming stuck between several militia commanders who actively run over the small skirmishing groups.
I can’t speak to T3 and below.

That’s the heart of the turtle strategy. You spread out and take other stuff, yes, until your server doesn’t have the numbers to spread out like that. “Just go elsewhere” is exactly what happened to servers playing against that strategy. People want to fight other people, not long-siege or PvDoor.

It was already! How quickly people forget. And that was a result of the buff on AC damage combined with the introduction of pirate-ship meta, all reinforced with HoT and DBL.
If you are looking for fights, there’s this button at the character select screen labelled “World Transfer”. It can immediately bring you to a true underdog server. If you enjoy being on a dominant server where fights may be fewer, just stay there. You, and you alone, have the power to choose.
Given that this is a live beta I expect the changes to be minor and not very disruptive, along the lines of relative population in WvW being taken into account in the scoring. Which is not enough.
They also said if the beta seems too disruptive to the live match, they’ll end it before the end of the match.

TORK only uses siege or runs – they don’t fight and CERN prefers taking BL’s that aren’t manned, so they don’t like to fight either – Disco of CERN will fight, the other CERN commanders not so much.
I transferred from TC to FA about a month ago. I’ve run with Zog and TORK, and they’ve always been willing to fight, even outnumbered and in the shadow of enemy siege.
I like Zog. I can usually get his attention distracted from spawn camping DB in EBG so he comes to our keep instead and feeds us a steady supply of bags while I’m on my zerker ranger or DH.

I just noticed the server populations for NA and EU at the login screen, its quite sad. It’s not surprising people are stacking a server. And TC is still only labeled as High Pop….that’s just…wow…
NA has 3 very high population servers, and 2 High population servers, the rest are the lowest medium…that is just sad.
Just a few months ago T1 was Full. Yeah….
After 3 years of watching the game flourish then die out slowly, server stacking is needed to help population.
3 years ago T5 was as active as T1 is now. Only natural to those of us who enjoy WvW to server stack towards the top to keep that “feeling” alive.

My point was to convey that the notion of TC being this huge bandwagon server for tons of guilds to megablob T2 is just ridiculous based on first-hand accounts of the reasoning from the only guild I do know transferred.
Personally, I’ve only seen one new guild move to TC, Kazo (I’ve come to learn that NEON is not xfers, but a split from CERN). TC had way more guilds in NA a few months ago and Kazo hasn’t exactly replaced those that left TC.
Kazo is TC-native. They didn’t transfer in. Seriously, we have new guilds, but very few new people.
Yes and no. Jason was playing on JQ then xferred to FA briefly before returning to TC (and he originally was from FA.
But to the point, TC may seem blobby atm, they definitely are less than they were just a few months ago.

Even HUNT was TC-native before going to FA, and according to Celsith herself she was sick of the attitude and simply wanted to return to her home server for the community.
Sick of what attitude? The guilds that ran in EBG that HUNT hung around quit the game for BDO and The Division. I’d rather Celsith speak for herself here.
