Great, I got all the feedback from GW1 vetrans, sad thing is that GW2 only players probably doesnt even know what Hall of Monuments is and wont bother with this post.
Well… Whatever.
In other words, it’s not something they care about.
If you ever change your mind about going to Guild Wars 1 and working for your rewards like all the vets did, look me up and I can give you a couple of mini to start off with.
HoT definitely changed the core gameplay from what it was before. Whether it ruined it or not is entirely subjective; some like it and some don’t.
I love PvE in general, but I can’t stand the HoT PvE. So I mostly play WvW now. Its great that you can now unlock of a lot of HoT equipment and elite specs through pure WvW. However, even there, HoT has left its mark; the elite specs are very powerful and basically caused the pirate ship meta as well as other undesirable things like CC and condi spam.
Who knows what expac2 will bring, but I am definitely not going to be an earlier adopter.
I thought the Pirate Ship meta in WvW was caused by the changes to stability, not the existence of Elite specs.
Does anyone think this could be possible if they can afford the buy-in? Several legendaries have a 3-8% profit margin if you flip them which can be 100-200g per flip…But do people ever actually sell their legendaries instantly as opposed to listing?
You can check the GW2BLTC to get an answer for that question. For example, here is the last 24 hours for Eternity. That legendary had 2 sold by sell orders and 4 bought by buy orders according to this site.
They are not humans, straight backs are not a sign of authority.
Actually… Yes.
In GW1 they where the enemy and had straight backs, they where more aggressive and other races feared them.
In GW2, they joined other races in a diplomatic and domestic way… and got a curved back… they are like puppies now…
… Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my Druid and DH Charrs, but they are like puppies.
Most Charr in Guild Wars 1 were hunched over. It was only a few classes that stood up straight.
If you buy the expansion and apply it to your account you’ll have access to all the new HoT content. If you don’t apply it to an account you already have you’ll get another account that has the base game and HoT. Your old account will only have what you have now. If the account you apply it to was a free to play account then all the restrictions are lifted as it is now a paid account.
So you can either apply it to an account you have and get HoT added to it or make a new account and get the base game and HoT, and your old account doesn’t get HoT.

World of Warcraft has factions and world PvP, in name. In reality, their world PvP died years ago. I guess it wasn’t as popular as one might think.
Instead of posting on general discussion, perhaps you could post in the bugs forum with a description of the graphic bugs and screenshots.
Yeah it was a long while. I think they aren’t releasing because it would screw over sellers listing stuff for 1,000g. They had to make a big financial commitment just to list the weapons.
You mean the all of (checks the TP) 35 people who have one of those weapons listed right now? Who might not even be playing the game anymore to care about it? Somehow I don’t see that as a good reason. Especially when they’ve made it clear that vanity items can be released whenever ANet wants to and you sell them for a high price at your own risk.
I wonder if someone can gift a name change to another account. Does anyone else at your house play the game who might have gifted your account a name change contract then logged in and changed it as a prank?
At any rate, to find out what happened you’ll need to contact support.
From what I’ve read they don’t change your name. They suspend your account (or that character) until you change it, for free. If they change it then you have to buy a name change contract to change it to something of your preference. I suspect someone logged into your account from your house to do the name change.
How you managed to read the OP and at the same time take it seriously is baffling.
I have seen stuff… people saying stuff… pointless, dumb stuff but they were serious… It traumatized me. The forums changed me…
There, there. (Pats Rasgalinj on the hand). Here. Take this pill. Once it kicks in the OP’s post makes sense.

I thought that you guys could make a GW3. Where its in Glints World. One idea that I had if you choose to do this Gw3, is somehow you can have the characters swing on bars and other stuff. That’s really all I have other than I accidentally sent a semi-false report. I had tried to report someone but I hit the wrong report. I hit scamming when I should have hit verbal misusage I think is what its called. So, ya. As you know, love the game:D
O.o
That was random.
What happens then if there are 1000 chars named John in the game and you want to email one of them but only know that the name is John? What happens if someone sends items to John but instead the items go to John? Support won’t help in this sort of situation. They’ve already said emailed items are considered gifts.
Oh, I don’t know John@Bruno.3812. How could a schema be made that could fit it? I just don’t know…
Having multiple accounts have the exact same character name might work in games where there are separate servers or realms where you dont interact or see others outside your server, but it would be a big problem in a game like this. Unless you’re saying each and every character name would always have the display name and number attached to it, even in chat. That would be long, ugly, and most people would dislike that. Even WoW, which allows people to have the same char name, only allows it on separate servers. If you switch servers to one where someone has the same name, you have to change yours.
It’s a bad idea.
Maybe they don’t want you to have them all. Or maybe they only want you to have them all as a long term goal, like years. They like scarcity and only some people having the rewards or only having them after lots of time and effort. Since they like scarcity and long term goals then they’re not going to reduce the numbers needed or the number of ore that you get.
Except that long term goal miniature shouldn’t be tiny & crap looking miniature of common/generic mob NPC.
That doesn’t fit well with long time goal or amazing reward.
How it looks is a different subject. It doesn’t have anything to making it a long term goal. You can make crap items a long term goal. It allows the game to put in items so it can put it down on the reward scorecard, yet not take a lot of effort. Completionist will still go for them.
One of the big complaints of the new WvW maps is that there is too much PvE in it. There just isn’t the demand in this game for PVEVP maps. The players here want either PvE or pure PvP and not many want a mix. In addition, it would pull players from WvW and PVP which already have population problems and cause more problems in those two areas.

No. Not only does it go against the game’s philosophy of non competitive PvE but with Megaservers making all PvE servers the same, it would have to be a separate set of servers that players only visit, like WvW. So, it would require not only a complete revamp of their non competitive PvE but a whole new game type along with PvE, WvW and PvP. That would be a lot of work and there’s no indication that there’s enough demand for it. Even WvW has struggled with population problems all this time.
Tuesday the 26th.
Here’s a great little searchable database that lets you look up food items by level and buffs. Has drop down lists for the searches, just pick the buffs you want and it will give you a list of foods that have it.
http://wiki.theamazonbasin.com/index.php/Guild_Wars_2_Nourishment_Database
Great tool! Whoever wrote this little thing is a kind person!
It’s gone. Just plain gone.
Try this wiki site as a substitute. Shows levels and buffs, and clicking on the food tells you where you can get it, if you can craft it and the price on the trading post.
Just this afternoon there was a new guildie in guild chat saying that he hadn’t played in 2 years and had just come back to the game. I bet he wouldn’t even had logged back on if he got to character select and found that all his chars had their names removed and he was expected to get brand new names.
There is more but my complaint/question is are these names really taken. and or what are the odds im picking “odd” names that others are thinking of. like who else is thinking of naming their character Dobbs or Kinnard.
If I remember correctly, the last time they gave numbers there were 7 million accounts made. Now, out of those 7 million (plus however many more since then) accounts, what are the odds that someone is going to try out “odd” names for their chars if all the common names have been taken? I would say pretty good chance of it. And truthfully, I wouldn’t consider either Dobbs or Kinnard odd or unusual.
i know how this sounds "what right does anet have to delete character names
Not a right, but a policy decision in a “come and go game” where people would stop playing if they came back and their character’s names were gone.
Not all are taken. Add a title. Change a letter. Add a letter. Or realize that name was pretty common if all variations are taken, and try another.
That would be cool. I noticed when mousing over a guildies dot on the same map that it said he was on a different map instance, so the game can already tell you that much.
If something like this was added then it would undoubtably be added to friend’s list also. Normally it’s not a problem but in cases where one person is harassing or stalking another, not only can they friend them to see what map they are on even if blocked and have the game tell them when the person logs in or out, but with this feature he can get on the same map shard to find them. If ANet puts something like this in they should make it so that if one person blocks another, the blocked person can not see if they are logged on or off, what map they are on and not be able to friend them to use this feature.
The filter really does a number (pun intended, I think) on your Display Name, sometimes, Chad.
I saw that. I don’t know why it did it. It’s just some numbers, 858 that the quote put there and then censored the numbers and name. Strange.

In other words consider being thought of in Europe as a gift assuming localizations are different from America to Europe. Some stuff deemed “inappropriate” in America is shown in even kid shows in Japan, don’t know about Europe however but do know they have nude billboards so make of that what you will.
Unfortunately, an American translator won’t keep true to the original and think to himself, “Whoa! That would offend a lot of Americans, better delete the episode or at least change some things around utterly obliterating the original author’s intended feel and message!”
Like I said fan dubs and subs are typically better for this reason as they keep the originals.
What in the world does this have to do with the OP not being able to play with his friends?
I’m just saying given America’s conservative values companies have a tendency to sanitize material (e.g., editing out blood and swears originally in a cartoon meant for teens) and therefore being on a European server potentially has benefits.
For one thing, its the same company so any translation that happens goes through their system. Whether or not he is on an EU or NA server, it’s still the same. The second thing is, his complaint is he can’t play with his friends. He wants help with that. Not social commentary about translations or who is more socially liberal.

So be clear you’re all say its possible but on the super low chance the group youre in doesnt stun lock him and burn him in 2 seconds? I’ve tried to get this all day and i don’t believe any of you that are saying it’s still possible. He does NOT spawn any vortexes if he is stunned the whole fight.
I know for a fact they never spawned because the asura hasn’t yelled out “Be careful, he’s dragging people under!” any of the times i’ve killed him.
You do realize this thread is 9 months old don’t you, and that the fight has been reworked since then so their comments on how doable it is may no longer be relevant.
It has? Tequatl Rising was in 2013 …
The Tequatl fight was reworked 6 months ago to make it more difficult. That could affect how easy it is to get the achieves he is talking about.
I don’t remember any change in that time period but that aside unless you mean less difficult that doesn’t actually make any sense. Making it more difficult would actually make the achievement easier to get.
At the end of June of this year, 6 months ago, the Tequatl fight was reworked to make it less easy. Since the comments on this thread date back 9 months ago, then they were made before the changes and may no longer be completely relevant. The person I addressed my remark to should look for a thread made after that change to discuss the achievements.
Oh that thing. That wasn’t really making it more difficult though and it wasn’t a Tequatl specific change. It doubled the HP but also allowed it to be crit(which also means things that apply conditions on crit also works) and there was also the condition stacking change. The fight is much easier now than it was when it was first released (more people with ascended gear also contributes to that). Getting this achievement back then was easy because Tequatl would be using that attack for a while. Now? I haven’t seen this attack get a chance to be used more than once per run in a very long time.
It rather depends if they managed to break anything since this thread was made 9 months ago and, which is why the person I was speaking to should look for a more current thread and which would be why the comments made 9 months ago may no longer be completely relevant.

You could always check the supply to see what’s happening across the whole player base to get an idea if your theory has merit.
Looking at the graph you can see that supply has increased and prices have dropped.
Here is a timer someone else posted on another thread. It has the event stages of the expansion maps and dry top.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s my understanding that any time an employee posts here, their response must first go through some kind of committee for approval. At least, that was the case some time ago after the SAB disaster.
If that’s still the case, Reddit might be a simple way to bypass this ‘committee’ and post without having your writing submitted for approval or disapproval.
If that’s still the case.
That’s the distinct impression I’ve gotten. This forum has classes devs have to attend first before they post, and if they say something “not right” there is a chat with upper management. That’s bound to have a very dampening effect on posting. With reddit, they can log on and chat without having to attend a class or be so careful.
Since they were dumb enough to send you an email full of spoilers with their name on it, you can report the person for griefing.
Already a thread about this on the front page of this forum.

I’m betting this achievement was set up for the LA skritt, and ANet forgot there isn’t any LA skritt anymore. Maybe it will be fixed for next Wintersday. I think we can rule out them fixing it this year.
Maybe the solution is for him to spend the next couple of weeks leveling and spend the last week of the festival getting the Achievement.
Instead of buying keys for a random chance to get scraps until you’ve got enough scraps to get 2 or 5 or 7 tickets, why not just cut straight to the chase?
Have a button on the gem store panel. Pressing it removes a random amount of either gems or gold from your inventory for a random number of times, could be 2 times or could be 200, until finally RNGesus gives you the armor set.
Then explain to me why this system is better then outright buying an item.
Don’t bother playing during this time then. Your going to lose all progress between now and then when they roll it back, unless you want to play strictly just for fun.
If your account was hacked you can contact support and get an account restoration, which is a rollback of your account to the time before the hack.
I can’t think of the words to say how much I dislike the idea of gambling for armor. It’s bad enough they have gemstore gambling for weapons and gambling for dyes and (sometimes) gambling for mini pets without adding more kittening gambling.
I’m not getting it.
Lets say 2 keys gets you an item which opens all the armor pieces.
Why not just charge the [price of 2 keys] for one set of armor rather than this roundabout method. And after a week it becomes 5 then 7 keys??? No thanks.

I don’t really see anything wrong with it because they’re not posting some kind of official announcement. It’s just some info that the employee wanted to share about their work.
Do you think Anet should tell their employees that they’re not allowed to post anything unless they get an official authorization to do so? Probably not.
Do you think Anet should tell their employees that they are only allowed to post in the official forum? Maybe that can work but that seems kind of sad you know.By the way Blizzard does the same, at least for the games that I play, their devs post more on reddit than on official forums. There are also other game companies whose devs post more on reddit. I don’t see anyone complaining about it.
Given that this very thread contains a post saying that a dev will post a thread in the official forum, I think people should relax.
If you had read the thread you would have seen at least one example where people were posting repeatedly, for at least a month, asking for acknowledgement or help with their legendary crafting and the answer and help was posted on elsewhere. Their customers were never answered here. This sort of thing is not good customer relations. In fact, its poor customer relations.
if they want to post on another unofficial forum then I have no problem with that IF they make sure the new information and answers they are posting are also posted here.
(And the reason that dev is posting is because of this thread)

They merged PvE servers together long ago. As long as your son is in the same data group as you (NA or EU) he’ll have no troubles with guild access or grouping up in PvE.
They read. Posting is on their own time.
I know some are concerned about whether ArenaNet is communicating with you and listening and responding to your feedback. As you saw with yesterday’s announcement, we do. All of us at ArenaNet play the game with you, chat with you and read your forum posts, and work on the things that we think will most delight and entertain you.
We’ve set a clear policy in the past year: we don’t talk speculatively about future development. We don’t want to string you along. Creating fun is an uncertain business: sometimes things work out and sometimes they don’t; sometimes we go back to the drawing board over and over before we get something right. If we make optimistic promises and then can’t deliver on them, everyone suffers. So when we attend a trade show or give an interview, we’re there to talk about what we’re getting ready to ship, not to speculate on what we might ship someday.
Don’t read that as meaning that we don’t want to talk with you about the longer-term roadmap. The intention of the CDI threads is to talk with you about the roadmap. We want to talk design philosophy with you and hear how you want to see the game evolve. When those discussions trigger development, we’ll work internally until we have something we’re proud of before we’ll announce it.
A lot of the questions I’ve seen posted this week are as simple as this: does ArenaNet have an agenda to never do something? That’s almost never the case, and if it is the case you deserve to know and we’ll make sure we get more clear. In general the simple truth is this: when we’re not currently working on something, it’s because we’re working on something else instead that we think is more important for the game and community.
Our developers post on these forums on a voluntary basis, and in addition to developers, we have a community team who can clarify and be the bridge between players and developers. They’re ready to engage you on these topics. And I know it’s hard for the community team to engage players across all the forums and sites where these questions are being discussed, so I’m going to support the team in consolidating and focusing as necessary, so that we can be clear to the community where you can go to get a response.
See you in-game,
Mike O’Brien
Do you guys even know how hard it is to spot one of these symbols…. I saw one guy standing infront of me, saw the symbol. He walked into a zerg, I could not find the symbol again. The only reason I can think of why you would not want this is because you don’t want people to show of their pvp rank since you are not good enough to reach it.
And no, I don’t do PvP, I’m a PvE player.
Well, yah. If he dissapears into a crowd of people, then you won’t be able to see him.
For me, my point is that Mastery points only show in PvE, WvW rank titles only shows in WvW. PvP rank should only show in PvP. There isn’t a reason to display your PvP rank outside of PvP that isn’t there for displaying Mastery rank or WvW rank outside their respective areas.
I wonder if that means they should be opened in the Silverwastes after doing events there.
I’m going to agree with this one. Mastery points don’t show in PvP/WvW. WvW rank doesn’t show in PvE/PvP. The PvP rank shouldn’t show in PvE/WvW. It’s visual clutter and irrelevant to PvE/WvW.
