Free accounts are extended trial accounts. If they want the full package including risqué armor they can always buy the game. Until then the options of these extended trial accounts will be limited.

The problem is not the limitations….it is that ANET is aware of what customers like by showing it through limitation……

I say that I as a customer who had paid “accounts” plural do want more form fitting armors and I think a large community agrees with me…

LOL…THIS IS NOT ABOUT FREE ACCOUNTS…

Everyone is aware that the crowd wants this and ANETS behavior proves its

Sorry. Misread your post and deleted. Thought you were arguing for more items for free accounts

I can’t speak for people who play on those servers, but judging from the rants that come out of some when they’re politely asked to type in English since people can’t understand them, I’d say those individuals would probably be willing to wait a few minutes extra.

What’s to stop them from taking the shortest queue then going ahead and using whatever language they want once in?

Twice as many choices if they release the male and female versions as two separate outfits wearable by both sexes. I don’t see why these recent outfits needed to have such different types between male and female anyway.

Minis were/are completely RNG ….. some of them I am just getting now from being able to turn in a ticket thing and pick from the previous years

Aye, but mini’s were/are also tradeable. I can’t remember if there were any the weren’t mind oyu. I’ve forgotten more than I remember of the game lol

When you “installed” them into your Hall of Monuments then those ones were no longer tradeable. The only way you could trade them is if you did not put it into the hall or if you had 2 – one to put into the hall and one to trade. Support had LOTS of tickets about people getting scammed about that, trading for a mini and then realizing that they could not add it to their own hall since it had already been added.

Yes you could trade minis placed in the Hall of Monuments. As your post acknowledged people got dedicated mini and those minis could not then be placed again. But you could trade them. They just weren’t worth as much. But if you only wanted it for display then it was a good price since dedicated minis were cheap.

My guess is that the each new Living Story release will have the Frozen Exotic Weapon Fragments, at least until after the next expansion, with Holidays having their own item. So I’m expecting it to switch between Holiday and the current Living Story items as each comes up.

I’m not sure each Living World Season 3 Episode release will have Frozen Exotic Weapon Fragments, unless each successive map has a frozen section with the requisite Vendor.

Otherwise, it might be considered Pay-to-Win as it would ‘force’ players to purchase Episode 3. (I understand that might be a minority of players [game new-purchasers/returning players], at first, but knowing the playerbase, it would be and issue that would be discussed.)

It forces people to purchase HoT to use these items so its already p2w if you’re going to use that argument.
Since we will be heading further north closer and closer to Jormag I’m sure the areas we will be going into will be icy and Frozen Weapon Fragments will remain relevant.
I don’t see why a vendor would be needed in each map. Why can’t they go to the vendor that’s already in game? Is there some reason why it would need multiple vendors?

The current lack of a pattern in the 3 new zones we’ve seen this season suggests that farther north and closer to Jormag may not happen this season at all. Unless you know something we don’t.

I did forget about that. As suggested above by Healix.5819 they could use Charred Fragments at other times. They could use the same things you can buy but with a different vendor and alternate between the two Fragments as the story progresses.

What if LS3.4 and Lunar New Year’s start together? What about what happens next November? will it still be FEWF or something new?

Regardless, I’m 99% sure the seasonal drops have already been established for the next 3 months, if not the entire 12 months of the year. We’ll find out with each patch.

I would guess Holidays would have dibs and a set item will be used in between holidays, in this case the Frozen Weapon fragments. Resusing the fragments means they don’t have to come up with new blc seasonal items, vendors and items you can buy with them every time they switch out. They can use the Fragments all the way through the next expansion until it’s time to start another Living Story season.

ANet (including Smith) have said there’s a huge supply not on the market. I’m not sure why you think it’s likely we’re running low on them.

I didn’t say we’re running low now. I said we’re going to run low eventually.
We’re not running on current supply, but on reserves. Reserves do not last unless they can be resupplied at a sufficient rate. And, in case of MCs, we (the players) lack any ability to influence that rate, because their supply sources are tighly controlled and limited.

Late night addendum: If a growing number of players were unhappy, wouldn’t the first sign of that be a price drop?

Not as long as even a small number of players have the gold to buy those MCs. Remember, 20+ players doing legendaries could eat the whole current supply on TP. That’s not many players at all. This doesn’t mean that those players are happy, by the way.
Besides, a lot of the supply on market comes from the hoarded resources of a limited number of traders. If the price started to drop, some of them would stop selling, and the supply would drop. Which would cause price spike.

The current supply doesn’t tell the whole story though as it’s a changing number as coins are sold and the trading post supply is replenished.

For example, the last 24 hours: https://www.gw2bltc.com/en/item/19976-Mystic-Coin
Supply: 17,433
Sold to sell orders: 14,998
Bought by buy orders: 15,988
Total: 48,419

And that’s each day. 20 people with Legendaries might take the current supply but it would fill back up again.

The game is in desperate need of new fun content besides LW and add-ons. I assume ArenaNet is majorly understaffed if they can’t even fix severe bugs in vital content right away nor provide some variety in the already existing annual festivities.

They could be working on next xpack. Though that would be sad to move people from HoT upkeep to solely new Xpack stuff. But that might be the greed train running strong on most mmos these days.

I think this is the main culprit. They know the next expansion needs to be bigger than HoT was, so they likely have most of their resources dedicated to it.

Who knows. Maybe they’ll go for small, cheap and frequent instead.

Been away for awhile until recently, so I wouldn’t know about the last one, just didn’t recall event changes to BL Chests ever extending past the events before.

They are a guaranteed item in the first slot. If they took them out they’d have to put something else back in. As it says in the notes, they will change “regularly” which isn’t the same as changing when each holiday ends.

This sounds great but in reality you can’t fine tune it exactly and mouse movement either feels too slippery or too laggy. If you finally get it close enough an accidental button press can send you back to trying to get it just right again.

It’s taken them a while but I think they’ve finally figured out what to do with this game they made. I think they thought at launch that people would endlessly do events in all maps of all levels and that they didn’t realize how big cosmetics would be in a game without a traditional dungeon/raid endgame. Then they spent time on trying to make it a true Living World, a noble goal that was destined to fail. Finally we have a game now with new maps opening up, cosmetics and goals added to each of these map, expansions, raids/fractals and permanent living story. If they continue along this line they will be adding content to keep people busy in a way they didn’t when the game was new.

why does the lore have to have all of them dead? I think it woulda made more sense for a small group to leave their city and go West.

They aren’t all dead. You can go to Dry Top and speak to the survivors of the crash.

As to the other part, my understanding is they were a traveling group of merchants who had a circuit they followed. The bazaar was on their circuit as a stopping place to trade. Not their home city.

Is Polymock ever coming back?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Chad.6104

Chad.6104

Did a bit of googling and found this quote where they said if you see Polymock making its return…. No promises at that time only saying it’s something they were considering.

July 12, 2010
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/20081-polymock/
“Q: Will Polymock come back as an activity in Guild Wars 2?
John: The original version of Polymock was one of those instances where we had something that we really wanted to be able to do, but we weren’t able to see it fully realized in Guild Wars. Polymock was one of Colin Johanson’s side projects during Eye of the North. He envisioned it as something that was fully turn-based, a very different game unto itself. It would have played up the collectible element, and the meaning to bringing different pieces into the game. Unfortunately, that wasn’t something we were able to do at the time with the resources we had, but it is something we can do with Guild Wars 2. So if you see Polymock making its return, it will be in a more robust implementation, to reflect what we had always wanted it to be.”

I honestly think it’s kind of being blown out of proportion just how difficult it would be to implement.

It can just be a skin. The personal story doesn’t have to be affected.

Take a look at the tonics we have in the game. They can change you into any race. The only difference is that the character you turn into has a set look. Let us customize that look and voila.

How can it be only a skin? Will the new race still have the old race’s racial skills? Will a char that’s changed to Asura be able to use a Norn bear form transformation or a Charr Warband support but not an Asuran racial skills? If it’s not skin only personal story is affected because the race and personal story are tied together. There’s no telling what sort of bugs would pop up if the personal story and race suddenly are in conflict.

Can’t be newer maps as it would unlock those maps for people who don’t own the expansion.. Delete your char. remake with new race and old name use the level 80 booster and the world completion token and your char is a level 80 with a new race, old name and has core tyria unlocked. Might depend how much it affects the hero panel and how tied the character is to it. As one small example, cultural armor. Maybe changing the race but leaving the personal story the same as the original race means that the char can wear the original races cultural armor but not the new race’s.

Poll to remove Daily Achivement Cap?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Chad.6104

Why not remove the cap for players that agree to have their name permanently removed from the leaderboard? No going back, period.
This would allow those who enjoy the activity to continue as they choose and nobody would have to worry about leaderboard ground gain.

Because of the achievement chest rewards, your suggestion would only work if they would also forfeit those.

Are you saying that the Achievement chests are tied to your Leaderboard position? Because the two are completely separate things.

No, but simply forfeiting the leaderboard is not enough to me, you should also have to forfeit progress to the achievement point skins and titles to not devalue them.
It would not be fair if those people who want those 3650 extra AP per year get the prestige stuff potentially years earlier just because they opted out of something they do
not care about (according to earlier posters in this topic).

Being in the top % of the leaderboards isn’t prestigious enough for the highest rankers?

The skins aren’t that prestigious. You hardly ever see anyone use them anyway so it doesn’t matter if someone gets them before the Leaderboard people.

Charr Tails in Ghostly Outfit

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Chad.6104

Chad.6104

My guess is that the tail was replaced to make a black tail the same way that the legs on the Lich costume are replaced with those hoved legs. The difference, as far as I can tell, is that the Lich outfit has a male and female version. This outfit however only has a male version (it removes female breasts too). So your female Charr has a male tail. So for them to give your
female Charr a female tail they’d have to make a female version of the outfit. Which I don’t expect them to do now that it’s finished and sold.

Not so. There are other outfits that use the same model for male charr and female
charr, but the female charr still have the female tail.
Balthazar’s Regalia Outfit and Sentinel Outfit both alter the charr’s tail—but males have
male tails and females have female tails

Or it means they didn’t remove the tail in your two examples but that they left the
tail in place but changed how the the tail is colored when dyeing the armor
. In this case, if you notice, the tail is both changed in color to match the head (and hands) and not affected by dyeing the armor, so the specifics of it are different.

Not true. You can change the color of the flames in Sentinel Armor—which I didn’t
post a screenshot of originally. The charr tale is dye-able.
Edited: Here is a screenshot. See? Dyed female tail.

Please re-read what I wrote. I said that the tails were not removed in your two examples (the Sentinel and Balthazar armors.) They made them affected by the armor dyes but otherwise left them in place.

Where I said “in this case, if you notice, the tail is both changed in color to match the heads (and hands) and not affected by dyeing the armor so the specifics of it are different” I was referring to the Ghostly outfit.

Edit: so what it looks like, in order for the tail to be black the tail was removed and a standard black charr tail was added to the charr outfit. And since only a male outfit was made there is only a male charr tail for both sexes.

Well, this what happen, I did the transmutation and all it did was swap my new weapon with the old weapon, the skin is still on the old weapon.

I can click on the hero panal and shows nothing in the category for skins, but I go to the tailoring station and I click on the wardrobe and is all there, I click on the skin and
the only option is preview. Oh nuts, Ginny

You need to first equip the weapon you want to change the look of. Then go to your
wardrobe in your hero panel. Select the skin from the wardrobe and hit accept.

Hero panel
Left hand side options- helmet icon: named equipment on mouse over. Click on that (Top, far left of hero panel)
There is another panel in-between that far left list and your character. Go there.
Go to top that panel. Click on whatever name is at the top. It will be one of these
(equipment, wardrobe, dyes, outfits, miniatures, finishers, mail carriers, glider skins). clicking on the top name will pull up that list in a row. Select wardrobe. Then click on the weapon. Then click on the skin. Then hit accept (far right, small panel). If you have
enough transmutation charges it will change the skin.

I recommend you not buy it till level 80. You’re going to be getting new gear as you level and you’ll have to use a Transmutation charge each time you get a new piece of armor to keep the look.

You don’t have to remove the skin from a weapon or armor. You have a wardrobe. It’s on your hero panel (and your bank) and holds all the skins you’ve accepted by salvaging the item or right clicking on and selecting unlock skin.

For the Hero Panel, hit H (or the key you have assigned to it)
Then select wardrobe from the list. If you don’t see a list click on the helmet icon
(equipment) on the far left side of the Hero Panel.
Then click on the item you want to change the look of
A panel will appear on the left. Select the skin you want by clicking on it.
On the right of your character another small panel will appear.
Hit apply to accept the skin change or reset to cancel

This requires either one Transmutation charge or will be free. Depends on the skin.
Most require a transmutation charge. You can get charges by doing map completion (a city map completion is a guaranteed free charge), from pvp or wvw reward tracks, buying them from the gem store or as log in rewards. You can see how many you have above the small panel to accept or reset changes that appears to the right of your character.

So for them to give your female Charr a female tail they’d have to make a female version of the outfit. Which I don’t expect them to do now that it’s finished and sold.

Not so. There are other outfits that use the same model for male charr and female charr, but the female charr still have the female tail.
Balthazar’s Regalia Outfit and Sentinel Outfit both alter the charr’s tail—but males have
male tails and females have female tails

Or it means they didn’t remove the tail in your two examples but that they left the tail in place but changed how the the tail is colored when dyeing the armor. In this case, if
you notice, the tail is both changed in color to match the head (and hands) and not affected by dyeing the armor, so the specifics of it are different.

1,2,4 OMG pls NO !! imagine it gets like Food in Minecraft, just freakin bad:D

but the weather Thing is a very cool idea!! rain, fog, , on alpine snow Blizzard, and other things would be awesome!

In that case you must love the sandstorms in the Desert Borderlands as that’s the same thing. A weather condition that affects visibility.
