I don’t think setting your traits and setting your armor for permenant swiftness is a good idea. Unless you plan to solo in PvE, there really is mot much use. In pvp, there’s a lot of boon removal and conditions that running permanent swiftness hurts the team.
Honestly I think the MOBAS are unbalanced, the only MMO’s that can balance well that I have seen are Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2.
At this moment, I don’t find anything particularly overpowered.
Ah the age old, why should people be banned for swearing when there is a filter?
Probably because there is a huge cyber bulling problem going on where people are committing suicide or suffer permanent psychological damage. You don’t have to be intelligent to find out what someone is saying after it is censored.
There is absolutely NO reason for anyone to swear, period. You can communicate without them.
I blame the stupid gathering daily for the reason of mass deforestation in Tyria.
Rank 1s just need to be rated at 0%, and have matchmaking system actually work and make good matches where you would only see rank 1s if you was in the 0-30% range.
Its pretty sad how they rate rank 1s compareable to people on leaderboards, I was like 600 before on leaderboards and got matched with a rank 1 on my team and everyone else was fine but that rank 1? WTF? Did you do nothing and get carried 10 games in a row and not score a single glory to make it that far??
The solo queue is based of the leaderboard ranking, for the most part it works quite well. If you are getting Rank 1’s in your queue, it is most likely because you haven’t scored enough on the leaderboard to cause the rank 1 to be behind.
This does not mean it is yourself at fault, but if you invite someone to your party who is a lower leaderboard rank than yourself, you’ll see that the odds of getting a rank 1 is much higher.
I seriously think people should stop complaining. You get fast queues, difficult battles and you rarely face the same team over and over (which happened everytime in other games).
Also, PvP participation has gone significantly up and it’s harder to achieve top 1000 as compared to before. It gets even more difficult during a major patch like this one. Use this to your advantage, because there’s going to be far more people to group up with and you’ll see theres less rank 1.
Rank=routine
You can become a legendary player later, but won’t pwn a rank 50 at r20.
I’d say most people play at the same level after reaching rank 40.
I have no troubles at all killing people at rank 55+, matter in fact they generally play worse because they ended up farming hot joins instead of participating in tournaments.

Just keep in mind what they put in those files is on purpose. Nothing is really “Leaked”, notice how little information is provided? It’s a cheap preview on the next patch to cause publicity.
I actually prefer the centered design on this website, but thanks for posting for those who don’t.
You should really not call it a “hack” though, all it is basic programming for a browser extension.
The purpose of the red circles was to identify the particle effects from bad ones. Since you can use combo fields, things like a frost field will look hostile to players and they would end up avoiding safe area of affects.
Because of this, all ally fields are covered in a white line while hostile ones are red. This feature has been in since the very early stages of development, because the idea was to eliminate the trinity but use combo fields for synergy.
Also, the red circles makes it easier to notice the effects without having to rely on secondary interface to complain to you about it (such as deadly boss mods). Therefore, the effects are much more deadly than compared to other games, since you get an obvious notification about it.
I think the interface is amazing, it’s clean and doesn’t include ridiculous clutter like you see in other games.
Logging into World of Warcraft without addons is virtually unplayable.
Because maps like these promote “flag carriers” where one class I just completely better at everyone else at carrying it.
I.E Ritualists.
And instead just permanently increase glory gain by 50%? There is really no sense behind it at all in my opinion and I just cumulate them in my locker because I am too lazy to fetch/activate them after “deposite all”.
Also remove the generic PvP Weapons (PvP Torch, PvP Warhorn, etc) from the reward chests. I mean you can buy that stuff from the weapon vendor. It is just stupid that those are in chests, just reward a different weapon or the Arcane Powder directly ….
There is so much basic stuff wrong with the reward system. Really makes me wonder how much they care.
The Generic PvP weapons award Paid Tournament tokens, the intentions is to make your own armor by crafting by destroying the generic weapons.
That’s ridiculous, why would they put a rank limit on a game that advertises that you have everything in PvP without having to grind.
A rank 20 player can play better than a rank 50, I see no reason to limit the tournaments this way.
Premade or not, tournament queues provide the best PvP I have seen in any other game. The team is generally always hard to kill, unlike hot joins where you have really bad players and leavers.
The easiest solution here is to remove Hot Joins and force everyone to either run a premade or solo queue. The amount of solo queue teams will far outnumber the ones that are premade.
I’d argue that the act of a Mesmer switching a weapon set would que for a potential temporal curtain; it wasn’t too much of a problem for most people. However, I’d argue that the skill was overpowered because you had to pay so much attention to it.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to get a group because it is so difficult. Most have given up on trying and there’s rarely a group forming for it on my server; or they want “experienced” players who have completed the dungeon.
Zeal increases condition duration as well, so going 10 more points will increase fire duration by about 10% as well. If you use the 10% increased damage trait, the 30 in power isn’t completely useless.
However, I find more use just going 20 into zeal and the rest in Radiance. It is the most effective way to do dps, without hurting your team.
The reason why is, you can go 10 into Honor and get the Shield of Absorption on res, which can make you take a focus instead of a shield. (You can also chain it with Leap OR teleport then res on an ally)
You could use the rest of the 10 points for more toughness and critical damage, while supplying 150 toughness to allies. OR, you can use the precision bonus from toughness, and use RUNES OF MELANDRU which will reduce the fear by about 60% and provide you more critical chance.
I think guardians are okay, they just need a bit more mobility. But the class is not broken. I am currently in the 80-90% bracket on the leaderboards, just with solo queuing as a dps guardian.
I think I could get a bit further with an actual team, but I like playing a DPS guardian more than bunkering.
I also think matchmaking is much more effective than other games, because even if I run a class that people would argue hurts the team; I should lose until the point were my enemies are weaker and face the same skill level.
I have never played a game were most classes are viable at everything, in World of Warcraft this was essentially impossible. I was forced to run Holy Priest in Cataclysm at launch and reached 2200, but that wasn’t balance because my class was broken and Holy was the only viable spec (and it still sucked)
(edited by Chase.8415)
They have a habit of wasting development, so must likely NPC only.
I suggest everyone to buy the armor skins off the shop, it is possible that if they sell SIGNIFCANTLY more by selling the skins directly, they could change their marketing strategy to reflect it; which means this could end the RNG issue.
Sorry I don’t see how 10/30/10/0/20 is team support. I don’t know your traits, but I can take a pretty good guess at it.
Fiery Wrath
Signet Mastery
Blind Exposure
Right-Hand Strength
Purity
Vengeful
Absolute ResolutionSo unless you’re running two shouts with soldier runes or using Consecration. I honestly don’t see any support here. Just roamer dps build.
Weakness and retaliation is support.
Also, Right-Hand Strength is replaced with Perfect Inscriptions.
And Purity is replaced with Strength in Numbers, since it adds 250 toughness to allies now.
I can see how it would be good in 1v1. But the minute anyone else shows up, or in a group fight. You’re screwed.
I played around with a similar build. 20/25/0/25/0. People simply melted. Not even funny how fast I could kill someone, but the second I’d start to take focus fire. I’d be dead.
The build is focused for team support, not exactly sure where you’re getting it was designed for 1v1.
I love how theory crafting forgets that dead people do no DPS. Keeping yourself and your group alive at the cost of some DPS is a good trade-off.
Before I went into tournaments only and quit PvE I was running fractal 28 in December with full beserker and I had no troubles staying alive.
Says Who? Radiance is the only viable DPS spec for a guardian. I cannot see how people DPS with Valor and Honor.
10/30/10/0/20 is the strongest DPS build for a guardian. It is virtually immune to all conditions and hits for 5k with 270 retaliations.
In PvP, any build without AH or MF is in a huge disadvantage. I don’t think you can burst any decent player fast enough with a DpS build to make up for the lack of defense these builds have, and I find it far more easy to 1vX against offensive builds like than anything else (because they seriously lack a way to sustain themselves).
If you’re talking about PvE, please note that my original post said PvP. In PvE, anything goes…
I am talking about PvP, and no it’s not a huge disadvantage. Suit yourself if you think it’s bad, but I am constantly queuing in the top 1000 bracket and killing people with it. The defense of the build is signet of judgement, which applies weakness to players. You also have several blinds and blocks with tons of condition removal.
lol signets
Go ahead and send me a whisper ingame, I promise I will surprise you.

Scepter is getting buffed next patch.
I dunno about that but gw1 in 08 was amazing status, a status gw2 will probably never achieve lol. I find it funny how most ppl posting on this forum tell others how much money they’ve spend in gems… i spent 0 dollars and anet is maaaad lol anyway i agree that absolutely nothing worth mentioning was added since November and i’ve been saying this for quite some time
In 2008, that’s when Guild Wars died.
From that point, nothing was really added to the game. You could quit and come back 2 years later, the game would be identical.
They’ve found an efficient monetization scheme: make a small, thematic update, associate it with RNG box rewards, and make money off of gamblers.
Unless the gamblers change their habits, the method won’t change.
You might have to wait for an expansion for the content you want. Sorry.
I think that’s exactly what they’re doing. They are doing the exact same thing as they did in Guild Wars when this game was announced. They put all of their time in making this game, while providing virtually zero content updates to Guild Wars.
I think they’re working on an expansion and having a small team update Guild Wars 2.
If living story is consistent, it pretty much becomes permanent content only with more variety. You can expect the temporary dungeons to come back in fractals, so there’s that.
What is so special about this living story content? It’s nothing but a gated quest, they can’t seriously expect to keep people playing this game by waiting 1 month to have another quest where it’s essentially “kill this” or “press f to burn/activate/shock/whatever 500 times”.
No need for math, common sense would agree that full beserker with 30 Valor and 30 Honor would tell you it’s the best.
(Apply might to allies on crit, heal when applying boons…. valor increases crit damage)
This is indeed great but… who uses Radiance for PvP builds?
As much as I like damage builds (I’m in favor of Zeal/Radiance builds), a 0/0/30/30/0 + 10 build outperforms every other build in sPvP right now… some may even claim a 0/0/0/30/30 + 10 is also a good option, but AH/Monk’s Focus makes me practically invincible/really hard to beat in 1v1s, and even more in XvX (though it lacks the support of Virtue).
At least I hope Zeal/Radiance gets some love in the 25th patch, because I’d really like to play these lines in PvP without worrying about another undying Guardian I might face.

1. Then how come the Necro was specificly mentioned in the blog post about the change and a ArenaNet Dev said that if you played the necro you would really like this update.
In the last SOTG, the devs, said necros needed a boost, indirectly admitting Necros where kind of weak. Apparently in beta, Necros where considered OP and got there skills nerfed somewhat before GW2 was released. So, its kinda taken 8 months for necros to be finally given a boost.
At, this SOTG meeting what did the 80th lvl Necro player representative have to say? Well nothing because there wasn’t one…the players present mained Ele/Warrior, Engineer and I am not sure what the other mained but I don’t think it was Necro…
This may also account for the fact Necro was ignored for 8 months…
I think it is incredibly silly that they actually nerfed Necromancers that much from beta to launch. Like, how could anybody really know if they were really that OP? People had 3 days of play time every now and then, and hadn’t even learned how to really play yet, much less break a class wide open that they designed to fit in with the rest of the cast. It’s so bizarre to me.
Considering MAx Level PvP was possible since then, yes.
Necromancers used to be so strong that they would win virtually any 1v1.
It doesn’t matter that Max Level PvP was available. It was the first time anybody had gotten a hand on the game and nobody knew how to play. Tons of new players to games always think that certain things are “overpowered” because they don’t know how to handle them at first. That is what I mean.
I am not saying that Necromancers weren’t overpowered. I’m saying it’s hard to believe that they were so overpowered that they nerfed them to the state they were in at launch.
I have known how to play since Day 1 of the games release. Just because it takes you long to learn a class, does not mean someone else can learn faster. There are quite a few people who can learn a class just by reading the tool tips.

I get up and open RNG boxes to see what clothes I’m going to wear for the day. I often leave the house in velvet track suits.
Nice! I did this for 2 hours and all I got was 1000 pieces of bubblegum, rags and ONE silk hat.
I figured the one silk hat would overpower the looks of the rags on the way to work.
Not sure if they fixed it yet, but if you craft in Divinities reach all you hear is constant moaning.
So there solution to balance was to increase the power of conditions AND add a new one? The problem is conditions, this will only make things worse. Every build will be forced to spam condition removal.
I am also at the point where anything in the store is not worth buying unless I can directly purchase it.
I’m trying to figure out how they expect funding from the gem store if lots of people refuse to buy anything because they know they’re literally throwing their money away.
Because for every 5 people who refuse to spend money on RNG boxes, there’s 1 person out there spending hundreds of dollars on them, so they’re making more money on that one person spending hundreds than they would just putting the skins in the shop and letting the majority buy them outright.
No.
It doesn’t work that way.
If people really did spend hundreds of dollars for skins, you’d see a lot more commanders and legendaries. It only costs roughly $1000 to buy a legendary.
You cannot make something so expensive that people will start to believe it’s not worth the effort. If someone can spend $100 on another video game and get FAR more for it (games life RIFT) then why would they spend $100 here and get nothing?
I am also at the point where anything in the store is not worth buying unless I can directly purchase it.

They are blue because if it were any other color, it simply wouldn’t make any sense. True holograms (especially with teleportation technology) would be true color. Simply making them ethereal would make them appear undead.
Having them any other color than blue wouldn’t look right.
Those spoiler alerts are not accidents, they are planned. It causes much more publicity and hype to make a big release accidentally leaked before it happens.
Too many things were done wrong, don’t you get it? This is all planned.
Any other leak would be deleted and issued forum bans.
The last time I hyped for am awesome patch I got the dragon bash, that was quite disappointing. At this point I’m not going to speculate anything until they post info on it
Personally I think dailies should be reworked on pve to be less objective. You should earn dailies from causally playing, not doing specific things.
In pvp for example, I always get my daily without really trying.
If you asking for clarification if Thiefs are overpowered, then the answer is yes.
Actually Guardians in general I have noticed have much more flexibility with traits, especially when it comes to bunkering or dps.
And yet I have been using the same build for months, and barely noticed any nerfed abilities.
At this moment I find the matchmaking ratings quite balanced and with more people I could see it being the best I have ever seen in a video game.
But at this moment, I think its being hurt by splitting the PvP into two modes. I think they should keep the current system, but remove hot joins altogether. Instead, all pvo matches will be handled like a tournament with 3 rounds.
The lower end bracket of PvP can still win, because it would only match people with similar ratings. And most premades will be fighting in round 2 and 3.
Hot joins is horrid at this current moment, with one team always winning by a large margin to the point the other side leaves.
It didn’t turn out to be a good option for them, because all gems earned in PvP are actually generated outside of actual cash; which would have caused inflation issues on their end.
I was looking for the content, but it appears to have ceased to exist now. Not sure what everyone experienced.
I do not agree with locking players from joining tournaments without doing a set amount of matches or by rank. This would make all off the new players get curious and queue in as soon as they hit the minimum requirement.
Furthermore, this game is intended to make the gap into PvP easier. It would simply go against their philosophy of you did this.
Also, the whole point about people being bad with another class, because they’re used to a guardian is absurd. You excel in PvP by knowing what to expect from your enemy.
All RNG is based off a continuing pattern, this has been studied in statistics for decades. In all cases, there are times where someone is always more lucky than someone else. This would give the same results you are describing.
