The correct solution to all of this is to make guesting 1) invite only, you don’t have any friends on the server you don’t need to be there. 2) make it temporary, if your friends aren’t there to get you in then again you don’t need to be there.

At launch when they were talking about guesting you could only guest there if you had a contact there. Not sure why they scrapped that idea though.

It was definitely the easiest monthly ever. Took no time at all besides the 4 dailies. I’ve done mine already as well.

I have noticed that in WvW we have a lot of videos being made but with not FP point of view we can only do so much.

I was thinking you could switch to this setting and be invisable and have your skill disabled but be able to run among the action Filming the huge Zerg v zerg battles.

I relay like the idea “Choose Your Own Daily Achievements”. But, I do not like the Mixing of PvP, WvW, and PvE, PvP has its own daily achievements section, so please stop putting them in with the PvE daily’s. Or at least give me more daily achievements to pick from.

The WvW kills are OPTIONAL. Don’t like them? Don’t do them. sPvP isn’t mixed in with PvE dailies anyways. The WvW kills are only 1 out of 9. Are you really mad about that? I don’t like Keg Brawl but I’m not asking them to remove it for me. Don’t like it, don’t do it. Simple as that.

Exactly. People need to learn how to properly play their class instead of relying on a 10s stealth that could be made permanent if you had enough kits. Maybe 30s cooldown would have been better.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There is NOTHING legendary about a grind for items. That’s all it is. One big massive grind to get the items to make it.

Obvious solution is to make dragon timers span across all servers at the same time. If Dragon X is due to spawn at 3pm, make it spawn on ALL servers at 3pm. Problem solved.

Not really. Dungeons, Orr Temple Armor, crafting or just buying them on the TP are where people get end game armor.

For my thief I ran a dungeon to get my armor. For my guardian I just bought some temple armor first but have some dungeon armor as well.

I HATE the account wide guilds. Worst thing they could have done. Gone are the days where you could pop on an alt to play quietly or with another guild. Now if you aren’t representing the guild officers or above will message you kittening about why you are not representing the guild.

I kind of got the opposite and got two daily rewards today. Two chests popped when I finished my fifth thing. Some people I talked to said the same thing happened to them.

Guesting implies a temporary stay. Guesting to a server should only work for 24 hours as a trial period. After 24 hours, you are locked out of guesting to that world for 30 days.

No? Guesting was made for friends to play together. Some people rolled on different servers for different reasons. Being locked out of a server for 30 days goes against that.

here’s a little tip that I’ve found to be helpful in getting world completion: you don’t have to hold the point to get the credit. if you follow around an enemy zerg (thieves are best for this) you can run in as they’re capping to get POI’s and even vista’s

Did that once on my thief. I needed a couple vistas and pois from a keep so I followed the zerg once they broke down the wall and quickly got the things I needed. Wall was repaired with me inside it though.

It’s not impossible but it will take time to get it done. It’s in no way impossible. With free transfers being done the servers will eventually go into the tier that they should be in.

CoF gear was pretty common a few months back. I have the gear but it’s all transmuted to other skins. Wanted something somewhat unique instead of being a generic clone.

No, it’s not a completely “free” market in the sense that Anet created this world.

However, in the context of this world, prices are indeed based on supply and demand. Players really like greatswords, daggers, and swords. So the prices of Dusk, Dawn, Zap, and Spark are muuuuuuuuuuuch higher than the price of the Speargun precursor, assuming same drop rates for everything. Heck, I bet more Dusk/Dawn/Zap/Sparks exist simply because who wastes Spearguns in the MF?

To completely dismiss supply and demand from this in-game economy is silly.

Exactly, take off those tinfoil hats and stop assuming anet has COMPLETE control of precursors in the game. The supply price is determined by the demand in which players believe is worth paying.

ANet has absolute and total control over precursor prices. They can make them go to 1000s of gold per piece or make them go down to mere fractions of a silver with one click of a mouse. All they need to do is adjust the drop rate to any rate that makes the desired price happen.

Refer to any textbook about economics to understand why this is so.

PS: To be scientifically correct, I should add that the maximum price they can ‘set’ the price to is the highest willingness to pay for a precursor occurring in all players in GW2, which is a number lesser or equal the wealth of the richest GW2 player. Sorry for being sloppy.

To be fair the precursor market is controlled by a handful of people. They exploited early on and got hundreds of precursors and Anet didn’t do what any company should have done and removed them from the game. The scavenger hunt won’t even be release for 4-5 months at the earliest.

Now let’s see if they actually fix it or they just said that to shut people up.

NERO is hardly the same thing as what’s in mmo’s seriously lumping those people together with RPers in mmo’s is like saying that walkers for causes to raise money are the same as marathon runners. Two totally different sets of people.

LARPers are a breed of their own. Some are elitest kitten just like some RPers are eliest kitten.

Get rid of our account names being plastered over everything. I don’t mind stuff being account based but I’d really rather my account name isn’t on EVERYTHING.

I agree with fixing the culling. I know it’s probably hard to try to fix but I’d like to be able to see someone 10 feet away from me. As it is right now I only really see people when they run past me. Not counting the people that are stationary 5 feet around me.

The whole WvWvW “guild hall/tower/keep” thing is a joke. You might spend all day capturing it, getting it set up, upgraded, and just as your guild settles in to appreciate it, here comes Jonny Zergmaster Commander with his 200 minions tagging along and you lose it in 5 minutes. So that whole concept is laughable. On the actual subject of guildhalls, I think all of us want them very badly, but so far there is no official word on a release date for them, but we have been told a few times it’s in the planning for future updates. I just hope we don’t have to wait until a whole new campaign comes out to use them :s

In another game I used to play we had guild castles. Once a week usually on the weekend there would be a guild war to claim a castle (there was a decent number of them). Each castle had bonuses that the leader could get and distribute to the members. They could easily do it that way so you couldn’t lose it at any point except during the actual event.

Do what I do. Log on, do daily, log off. The lack of a real end game is what makes the end game boring. Currently playing a game with an end game and it’s glorious.

Once you get to 80 and get full exotics with the look you want there isn’t much left to really do.

They`re working on it but I don`t think it`s high on their to do list.

That looks very boring to be honest. Unless it has some nice effects most people wouldn’t look twice at it.

As it stands it seems to me that the average stuff you get from a black lion chest is no where near worth the price of keys from the gem store.

The only real incentive is the chance of getting one of the permanent contracts or the endless tonic. However the chance of getting these seems so small that I’m not even tempted to dish out loads of gold for a gamble; I can’t help but feel I will be very disappointed.

At the moment the whole black lion key system is pretty unsatisfying. I know ArenaNet need to sell gems to keep the game running, but do many people actually spend them on keys? Would they not sell more gems if keys were at a reasonable price?

Firstly, about the only thing these are good for is to get more boosters to increase speed of levelling alt’s. I can’t see any practical reason why you’d go out and buy these in any other case.

I used to buy these when I first started, but they’re hardly worth the value that Anet wants to heap on them, causing a rather big disparity between cost and worth. I’ve never even seen one drop in the whole time I’ve been playing (since 3-day headstart), and the likelihood of one dropping anywhere in the game is so remote, and the chance of getting something of any real value is even more remote. It’s like they’re deliberately sharpening the saw before they cut their leg off.

And I’m sorry, but 3,000,000+ accounts x ~$60 per = quite enough to keep both staff paid and servers up and running for a long while to come. Selling gems and other MTA’s through their store is just gravy.

You realize that there are a ton of other things the money goes towards right? It’s not just paying staff and keeping the servers up.

I hate to use the term "polished kitten because it’s potentially too strong, but holy kitten this game is a big pile of greatness washed over with a bucket of wasted potential and letting us preview things isn’t going to help that any time soon.

I misspoke when I said the roses could not be used outside of cities, they can as long as you are in town clothes. I wish ArenaNet would scrap town clothes altogether and just make armor skins and items like the roses that you could use anytime.

The legendaries in GW2 has never been “rare” in any way, why? Because you can buy them from the TP.

Even if legendaries were not allowed on the TP there is nothing legendary about them. They are just a massive grind to get them. The majority of the stuff can be bought with gold. Nothing epic about that.

SWG was the only game i payed (gladly) the monthly fee, because it offered a lot and GW2 doesnt even come close to that.
On the other hand GW2 is just perfect for a B2P game and I will most likely buy every expansion for it and some gem cards.
(But if there will be a level cap raise or further ascended-like gear “progression” I (as an avid GW1 fan) will quit GW2 completely.)

You may as well quit now because there most likely will be more gear progression in the game. It’s only a matter of time before we have ascended armor.

Well they got a headstart on the rings as well. As of right now it will still take someone 25 days at the minimum to get a fractal ring. I understand why they did it but it’s just funny the way they did it. Added amulets to drop from scale 30+ and infused to drop from scale 40+ would have been nice.

OP, you do realize that laurels were just implemented in-game at the beginning of this month right?

As of right now if you did the monthly and all dailies you would have 23 laurels, not 22.

Percentage is based on total files and not total size. We’ve had a couple big updates in the past months. The latest one was about 1.3gbs.

I only need 100 icy runestones and my precursor so I could get it almost right away.

I’d do the jumping puzzles in that case. People dub the badges “Badges of Jumping” and the “Gift of Jumping” for a reason. It’s simply the BEST and easiest way to get them.

Daily quests have to be open to all people to do. Having to kill a champion in a 50 zone when you only have a level 20 character? That’s a giant middle finger to those players.

It will be ignored for the most part. People generally only really went for the rich ori. The odd person farmed karkas though.

They reset at the same time every day so it’s your own fault if you fail to finish it.

I only do dungeons with guildies/friends, so this has not been an issue…so could someone enlighten me as to what going in first/creating the instance yourself changes?

I’m rarely the leader of a party, but I can always initate a kickvote. And I’ve been the last person in a dungeon many times. Usually after completion, but a few times when we abandoned the run due to someone having to leave.

If you start the instance and they kick you it should kick them all to LA as well. It should work that way at least.
