lol slick shoes isn’t that good. This is a clear L2P issue I am afraid.

If OP would actually learn how to either avoid it or use stability/port out then it would be fine.

Also hilarious as OP plays a warrior which has a ton of HP and stability. So how is he moaning about this skill?

Honestly slick shoes is really NOT GOOD AT ALL. In general I think engineer got mega nerfed with the might patch. I didn’t think it would be the case, I thought the balance patch would do nothing.

But in fact it was an incredible balance patch and it really made engineer balanced. So OP clearly needs to L2P.

If anything engi needs some buffs now not nerfs. I think healing turret has way too short a cd. Would love for that to be reduced or make it instant cast.

The skill knockdowns, even if you don’t move. U can’t stand still, can’t use any skill. It’s knock down on repeat. The description is wrong and the skill is one of the highest cc’s in game it’s aoe and easiest to land. Low CD. 100-0 ppl with no stun breaker.

Would like a programmer to look at it. Don’t need comments from people who don’t have atleast 10 000 pvp games. Thx.

Did you tweaked something ? Because I see 6ppl in the top 25 lb with more lose than win, and when I see the first Guy with 80 points (80w/40l), I wonder if losing games matter now since I get only 1pts per win with 0lose

Can’t we reach the top without being able to spam games all the day ?

We’re in an off season, there have been no rule changes, and there will be no rewards. I suggest you only follow the leaderboard as a way of gauging your personal progress.

We may also change the off-season rules at any time to experiment with scoring changes ahead of the next test season.

Your leader board is ridiculous and undermines any form of competitive plays. It’s a farm board, where loses means kitten even. Take a look at my current rank. Only guy in the top with a win % at 88. My wins are far more superior than any current player on the leaderboard, and my loses are very few, meaning that my rank points shouldn’t have been deducted in any way. People with the same wins and a shocking multiplication of 5 times in losses, have, for some ridiculous reason, more points than I do. I have even experienced people getting points for their loses on the leaderboard. It’s a joke. Not feeling a need to be rude, I just think that is inevitable.

I agree with you in general, but I may have been a bit over-zealous with the scoring changes I made. It’s at least worth looking into.

How about making solo queue again? It was fine. Now ranked and the team queue essence is trash.. 10000 pvp games 2 years experience bla bla.. I know the game.

I wish you could see your total earning of rank points since day 1. It’s more than 2 years since I’ve reached today’s rank 80 (the one that was 50 back in the days).

I miss the old rank system, that actually had some difficulties in achieving. I would by far been rank 80 on the old system, and that would have meant something, and it was actually achieveable, and had no actual reason to be changed. (Ps. the finisher was ugly as well.)

Right now I am more concerned about the PvP titles such as Conquerer. When I am achieving this title, which I presume noone has yet in this game, will it mean something? Or will you hot fix it after I spend 3 years achieving it, making it the easiest “PvE” title in game, like you did with the rank points?

Warriors don’t gain adreneline from Combustive Shot’s physical damage tics.

Buffing this, will solve some of stance warriors troubles atm, as a non supportive class with limited skills.

This will make the warrior a stronger team fighter, and make it more viable in current meta.

This is the part of the reasoning behind locking profession. The other is to avoid Build Wars 2 and lower the amount secret knowledge that only experienced players know.

Build wars 2. I get the stigma behind this. There have been periods where builds have shut entire classes out of the meta. Hard counters are bad, however soft counters can limit class abuse, although high level balance, and the community, has never reached that level of sophistication.

The truth is this however. The meta has been ‘the strongest 1v1 class with incremental sustain mechanics’ since launch. The attitude of restricting counter builds/comps only further entrenches the meta here, because the above approach to team comp requires very specific builds to ‘counter’ what it deems ‘best’ 1v1 bunker. These builds run a much, much higher risk of being countered themselves…

My question is this; why are you punishing multiclass players; people with the capability and desire to run outlying, higher-risk comps.

If class countering is unintended (and punishable by hard loss), why do class counters exist? I could put together 10 changes inside 15 minutes that would fix it if it really isn’t intentional……. but I always assumed it was…..

Earning Gems through PvP~

~there, the idea. Let us earn Gems through PvP then spend it in the Black Lion Store.

I believe an idea like this is needed because currently:
(1) PvP rewards are still boring. Yes, they are slightly better than before but look, PvP rank progression almost means nothing now. They don’t even show it to other players anymore, and even rank-specific skins are gone.

(2) There is not enough incentives to win. Win or loss, we all progress in the PvP track, only faster or slower. Plus, there is almost no PvP rewards that I cannot get by doing PvE. Speaking of which, where are our legendary rewards?

So that is why I think a Gem reward can help:
The reward rate should be moderate, say, 20 Gems per won unranked and 30 Gems per won ranked games. And absolutely no Gems for lost games. This would make PvP more rewarding, and provide good incentives to win the game.

What do you think?

Gems were already given back in the days in Paid Tourny. It was a good idea, that Anet removed.

I think these answers are very subjective because people just seem to be listing what they have trouble against in PVP on the characters they play in PVP.

I’ve seen necro as underpowered a lot on this thread, and d/d ele as overpowered. However I have played D/D ele for about 600 games over the last 12 months and the one class I am genuinely scared of fighting 1v1 and even on teams is necromancer.

The reason matching up against a necromancer even in a team fight is scary is because if they are smart, and wait until I just finish my water attunement then use the utility corrupt boon which transfers all my boons into conditions, I can basically be spiked down very quickly, certainly before water comes up again. It’s no secret that D/D ele requires high boon duration and having a tonne of boons always active, one well timed corrupt boon in a team fight or 1v1 and they are crippled from being able to defend themselves.

TLDR; Builds in GW2 are much like playing paper scissors rock, something can always hard or soft counter apparently ‘OP’ builds.

l2p and save cleansing fire and use cantrips effectively

I know how to play, and I do use cantrips effectively. Cleansing fire clears 4/32 seconds, other cantrips are 1 cleanse each on a longer cooldown.

Mid -> contribute to win in almost any scenario
Beast -> gamble to be stolen beast

Just now, an idea popped in my head. (means it’s only a theory)
If we send no one to mid,
a few people to beast can be free 25 points (=50 seconds from mid).
After instant kill, these guys may check enemy number in mid,
and choose between mid and enemy side beast.

Just a theory.. People bunkering mid rest of the game. Happens. Gl with the PvE theorycrafting

Just had a Ranked match in Forest of Nifelel.

Before it starts, I say to my team

“Let’s not take the beast in the beginning, take MID instead.”

After an exchange, a ranger replies: “BEAST WINS MOST MATCHES NUMBSKULL”

Can someone please explain why you would want to start with the beast rather than mid?

These people are obviously trolling you. But I can be wrong.. A lot of stupid people online. Gamer is normally a synonym for a low life (with the disability of never understand anything).

This happened to the whole pug-team, who I didn’t play with in same setting pre 16 december.

I doubt it. Had a win streak of 72% of 3000 games +, winning even more games before old ladders. Considering my loses were before playing with proper team.

In your example, Dc’ing 3 times, let’s say last week, gives you 3 losses next week? Seems odd, and unprofessional.

- Yesterday I was playing ranked team queue pugging and winning every game but 1. We played both the 12th, and the 13th being undefeatable. We played several hours, and after 00:00 the enemy teams were free wins, to be fair.

- Gw2score allows me to look at winnings (Biggest loser/winner of the day) and I was curious after 12 o clock.

- I see a 50% win/loss rate with 3 wins, 3 losses, which doesn’t make sense, since we did not lose a game. (or 3!) http://gyazo.com/d8c4f6b20c3fbca5660a3435d2e17346

Status quo

1) I didn’t lose a game
2) I DC’ed during one game, and got back in 30 sec before game win (heard rumours that you lose rank by doing that? fix!..)
3) My winrate shows my average winning, to give this topic some credibility (win% in contrast to previous days)

I want to englighten the issue, that there is something wrong with the leaderboard’s calculation. 00:00 is a run over in wins (no teams playing). We were 5 man queued. It happened to the whole team. Kees Flodder.1269 [Amsterdam], which is my guild mate from asdf, got the same losses.

Everyone knows engi is underpowered. Clearly L2P issues going on here. Mr Smith has no problem killing all engis on his thief.

You have a valid point here. Mr smith actually does win a 1000% of all engis 1 v 1, but then again he win like atleast 1 000 000 % of 1 v1’s. He might also be the only thief running frailty, hitting so hard he can stack vulnerability, it’s insanity baby.

Hey, it’s not a bug or whatever, but have anyone experienced this before? Lord getting killed at the same time. The team with the most points win with a +500 score. Pretty funny..

Another thing.

This is only for people with an intellectual perspective of the game, so developer status or something:

(Nerf engis – their healing effect (AOE, CLEANSE, KNOCKBACK, FIELD, REGEN), time (15 sec) etc. Rifle, nades, condi spam, recharge on swapping – and elite is still insta win. Nerf their condi cleanse even more. NERF VIGOR its perma/swiftness. Nerf recharge on block. Nerf passive healing, nerf cc. And so on.. These are just tips, to improve the game, concerning the games future.) Also nerf ele.. Mainly the glitch on air, and their ability to cleanse while feared or locked, and their ability to disengage, in any given situation ((PS PS yes, they can die against thieves mesmer, getting locked, but ANY class will, but maybe BUNKER guardian.) A way to work out mesmer thief, which is the most op, notice, IMO, you nerf fire and air sigil procs. ( I know CM plays engis and eles, doesn’t mean mesmer/thief air/fire proc isn’t op)

- PHD in Stomponomics (2 years of PvP, 8000 games ++on warrior)

If people want to argue against the obvious by trying to tell me something I already know, feel free to waste your time.

If necromancer are so op in 2v2, why dont they dominate the 2v2 tournemants (e.g. esl weekly 2v2)?

Simply due to kiting and getting out of combat. If the 2 v 2’s were about getting the most points on a point they would win. You have to chase and catch the enemy in the 2 v 2 tourny.

An example is: I was playing the 2 v 2 tourny with my mate Napzor. We fought staff ele + thief. Really easy match up, but because the thief ran out of combat, and the ele could kite a warrior and an engi, and still keep the combat, we lost over time. But I am obviously, as some of you pointed out, talking about conquest :-)

I got 5700 wins – thats 5700 boxes – you get 5 items from them – sometimes you get boxes inside of boxes that gives 5 items. You salvage lets say 7½ items~per win. (you get 2 boxes, but you get other items like transmutation gems(+1))

so those 7½ items 4 of them can be salvaged
I clicked 5700
you get an upgrade you have to delete every time you salvage and you get some materials so that’s 8 clicks. You get things you can’t deposit or stacks so you have to delete that. That is 2 click’s so minimum 10 clicks per box. Per win. that’s pretty fair.

so 57000 clicks. Is that healthy? No, it’s not. Is that a good system? No it’s not. Does it cause stress? Yes. Does it make me richer? Yes, if I wasted my time on it, so FALSE. And tbh? It’s prolly more than that :-)

Fear and massive condi is OP atm. It’s slowly becoming the best 1 v 1 spec atm if played correctly. The survivability is huge, and just slightly countered by the mesmer thief combo.

Necro is BY FAR the best 2 v 2 class in small scrimmages (also 3v3). It is the only class you can’t deal with with for a short period of 2 v 1 and it’s the class that 1 shots you if you don’t have all your cd’s.

Training a necro is not easy because you have to get through spectral walk wurm, 2 x dodge a full life force and 2 passive fears (nightmare, stunfear) – Earlier it was easier I agree, but builds change.

I played top 25 team PvP for 1 year now, and I know Necros havn’t been much in the scene, but they surely are now.

I have 7500 pvp games on warrior 4000 hours + pvp, and always been able to deal with them. But the passive proc build is just too much now. The build is too perfect.

Necros take half dmg in death shroud – they become stronger when applied condis on them, that just adds damage their all ready insane 5 fear-total-spike, whereas all fears does 900 dmg and last ~3seconds.

The full focus needs to be on a necro now in order to win a fight, and the survivibility is absurd, still.

I will add, that many necros play bad, just like warriors thieves etc, and beating them 1 v 1 can is doable – but it’s like that with all classes.

You can agree and disagree with me, but there is so much that is op with this spec. You can’t dodge while feared either is 5 CC’s with huge dmg.. Im frustrated and angry, maybe that’s why I didn’t take the time to do a better post. I know a lot of good necros, and I am not trying to nerf them to the ground, it’s just too op right now.

You know, there is something called salvage kit, trading post or how about the normal npc merchant?

I know that a lot of people have crazy good ideas about me dealing with this problem here are a few ones that I listed. I made a top 5 of good responses to my post that I actually cared about making:

1. Stop playing PvP
2. Use a salvage kit (nice one mate, really solved the problem I think)
3. Sell it to a trading post (!!!)
4. Merchant or bank it (All this time I have just had to buy several accounts in order to have stuff on my character, thx m9 appriciate cooperative w u)
5. The casual garbage people let out, like posting memes or referring to memes as their only way of making a joke

Thx for the good advices, also thank you to players who actually knows about the problems this chest spam has. The rewards are terrible and has nothing to do with PvP. – nothing.

Hello community.

I want to disable getting boxes as a new option in PvP
Either that or:

You’re able to stack your boxes
You ONLY get material boxes (the only useful ones that you can just 1 click and deposit + materials stack)
Your boxes will NOT drop Ascended materials that you have to delete
Your boxes will NOT drop green items that you have salvage 5 times to get nothing

- This is serious. My inventory is constantly FILLED TO THE EDGE with items that are worthless, and I spend my time deleting it, clicking it, checking it, sighing, crying and giving up. Your boxes are useless, and YES m8z, I got a few ascended things from it, but I don’t want it, that means I need to waste my time opening the boxes and that’s not worth it.

Hopefully you’ll add a button so you can DISABLE boxes (for people that honestly don’t care about useless green items and salvaging) /rewards. Maybe only hand out the last reward at 40 rounds, the only useful one.

I see hurt people at several locations, forums is one of them. Y’all PvE’s think rank doesn’t matter, and yes you are right, to some extend! But what’s all with the crying?

- to be fair top 10 players or even top 50, who cares, will whup your kitten . The reason there is a good team is that they have a good idea and some good players to execute it with. If that guy playing with your mommas nephews daughter in law is SO good as you’re indicating, maybe he would have gotten an offer to play for a team due to his excellence in that class. Your dad may know your son in law has skill on his engi, but can he 2 v 2 perfectly with your dad’s sister? Team PvP is team PvP. Team fights and mindgames are everything. If you think you learn that buy playing with your multiple cousins, you are wrong. And if this individual you are reffering to is SO good (and forgive me god, only plays 90%) he must be pretty open minded to be wasting his time losing to noob no. 1, 2, and 3 (and the never forgotten noob no. 4). My point is, that because you (did I just refer to you or a plural audience?) can’t get to the top on the leaderboard, doesn’t mean that they’re just mediocre players, and that their rank is irrelevant. Leaderboard doesn’t work properly I agree, but it works in 90% of the cases. CIAO.

The 50% extra dmg is not dealth. It’s bugged. I tried critting with Eviscerate that has 2700 and Arcing Slice which has a total 2700 dmg~ as well after 50%.

It’s a pretty simple test. They’re not 2 hits or something I am missing. Check It your self…

Not that I really care because great sword is still as useless as before in PvP.

- When playing against the newly added Legendary weapon-skins in sPvP, the effects of the weapons make it too difficult for the enemy to see what skills are being activated

- Biggest issue right now is the longbow Kudzo and the ‘Pin Down’-skill on warrior/, I’d like to add, Poison/static shot on engi (With a Legendary Equipped), because the effect of the legendary overlaps the Manual hits (Skill no. 1) and make it look like Pin Down (Skill no.5)

- It forces dodges and thereby making it superior

- (Again) Seeking serious attention to make an update that makes it possible to -Disable/Enable- effects on/off Legendary Weapons.

- sPvP should be equal.
– / Money and/or Legendary Weapons cannot be a must to be the better player, and this is what it comes down to in intense duels (‘Counting dodges’).

What resolution are you running the game at?

I run 1024 × 768, very low but I need that to run the game with my PC. I Run small interface as well.

- When someone seize a point, a game message appear, but, infront of the ‘boon/skill line’ of the enemy player, which is the thing I look at 24/7, because I am a PvP’er. (the line where stability, regen, etc. is)

- Is it possible to change the design? Make it smaller/Change the position? Make the player able to change the interface so it’s not infront of the line.

- This is a serious issue, and a bad game design.

- Seeking serious attention.

Last. This might be a problem for people playing with low graphics like me. However, that shouldn’t be a disadvantage.

Also @DaliIndica.9041, you’re really boring. Listening to your PvP adventures makes me want to move my forum post onto a private forum where people are uniquely invited. The requirements aren’t that high.

ANYWAYS. Your thief has nothing to do with this. And seeing that you’re NEITHER top 1000 in solo or TEAM Q REALLY makes me wonder why you have the authority to even mention a class being op+boring. GO DO YOUR STUDIES. I’d SAY atleast 1000 hours of soloq/teamq, then return to this post and make a proper comment.

There are some classes/builds which are strong 1v1, but it doesn’t matter so much because there aren’t that many forced 1v1s in the game.
e.g. you play offguard and go far, turret bunker engi on their close, you know you cannot win so what do you do? Go mid, simple as that, and you completely negate the engi’s 1v1 advantage. If he comes up to support mid, it’s a teamfight where aoe can kill the turrets.

My point is, it might not be good game design for 1v1s, but the game is not about 1v1s.

Yeah It is, a lot, and depends on how you play. This class might as well run to your homepoint and defeat you, with some lame bunker spec, that shouldnt be able to kill you. I wanted you to discuss the fact that what I am saying is 1000% true. I don’t want you to discuss how you move on the map, or how you play solo Q for that matter. I want you to discuss PASSIVE NPC’s being better than players. NOW DISCUSS, is THAT good game design. Yes/No.

I play condi warrior and face these all day, I win against the majority by far, but new builds such as the ele bunker can out dps my fairly defensive build with his pets ( easily ) The engineer needs to get locked down instantly and play a bit too offensive. And still by that point, his dps done by npc’s is so high while he can focus on being defensive.

I think Warrior is one of the most boring and OP classes in PVP. They have a stat advantage over every other class in the game, they have the best condition removal in the game, they can be as tanky as hell and still put out damage that is pretty good.

If anything, the surge in certain builds is directly a counter to the warrior problem.

Also, you dont actually need to fight on the point when your trying to take it back. It doesnt matter if you are on the point, or just outside it, if they are on it, it will not be capped. On my thief, if I go up to an engie on the point he will win and I will achieve nothing, also pocketing his team a nice 5 points as well for the easy kill. Same build same situation, if I stay ranged I can bring him down. Takes a little bit more time than other classes, but this way I get to have the 5 points for my team, and I can take the point once he is nice and dead.

I never understood the extreme outlook of the points. You fight FOR the point, you dont have to stand right on it all the time. If they have the point already and your trying to decap, it really makes no difference if your on it or not, work on removing them from the situation and then get on the point. (same situation when someone caps home at the start, and then sits on it without moving the entire game. It can only work in Team arena as you can use that as part of a tactic, but on solo it rarely helps.)

There was a reason why I didn’t mention that I play warrior. You’re the reason. And I again, I don’t want to hear about your movement, I played this 2000 hours more than you. Maybe 4000 hours.
