the topic is “most useless class in wvw”, not most “useless class in zerg fights”. fluffy just named the negative part for ranger class, not its outstanding strenghts. in my oppinion ranger is in a very very good spot ( if not armed with bows ). in my guild group, when i ask “who should i bring? my warrior, guardian or ranger?” the answer is always ranger.

Ranger is the pet class not the bow class, a warrior is much better with LB than ranger.

we did a test run with 2x bersi warrior (sword/shield + hammer with 10 0 30 0 30) 2x bersi/cavalier guardian with ( sword/x + hammer with dont know traits ^^) and 1x bersi/cavalier ranger ( sword/horn + greatsword with 0 10 30 30 0 + perma fury/might/reg/swiftness upkeep for the group) was a pretty nasty experiance, less for us but more for the guild groups of 10-15 players.

have stoped after 1 night because it was simply to strong and boring ( or we just havent encountered anything strong that night )

Zerker/apoth sounds like a lot if wasted precision and crit damage to me. IE, You can’t achieve 50% crit chance?

mix some celestial into your calculation. i run full celestial armor, full zerker tinkets and apo weapons.

i would love if every kind of loot would be removed from wvw. the sucking pvd mentality would hopefully vanish and you could encounter more open field fights. it is annoying if you are 1on2 outmanned and the enemy still run away from you and hide in a keep

dont forget about the shout build which is very strong aswell.

kodash is still number 1 with total point gain not from ppt and we are not willing to give up lightly on this domain

lol you still play trapper? i use my sword/horn + axe/torch wvw roaming build and did beat down a trapper + spirit ranger pretty easy in spvp ( my first 3 matches ever yestarday. havent died a single time )

0 10 30 30 0 full bersi in wvw here. with horn/sword + gs and +75% boon duration you can keep up protection, might, fury, regen, swiftness and vigour nearly all the time. can be pretty nasty for everyone you face.

i beat down 3 lb rangers solo in wvw with my gs berserker ranger. ranger is still kittening easy to kill.

why “new” meta? i play a power build with this weapons since 2 month

you dont need to dodge. torche 5, entangle, ( radiation field ), drake F2 burst skill and switch to gs / lb for aoe dmg. condition power hybrid build and the camp is down in around 25-30sec. pull all the mobs behind a building / stone

I find that Retaliation is only a problem if you’re not paying attention. Barrage can be self interrupted by moving so retaliation does little if any damage to a ranger who is aware of retaliation. Zergs bust through other zergs all the time, stealth and re-position. Doesn’t take long to figure out that playing backliner depends on positioning. Even without Barrage, piercing arrows will be nice damage from range.

Besides mesmer and P/D thief, I’m not sure there are many classes that outdo a solo roaming ranger. Yeah, we’ve been nerfed to hell, but despite that, rangers are still kicking and screaming.

I use a condi based ranger and I am pretty successful with it, but the more balance update the game ends, the more outdated it feels. Even for trapper builds, I wonder what rangers roaming with high toughness + power builds have to say.

i roam with full zerker equipment + 4x kavalier tinkets and there is nothing that can stop me while roaming. i have 3 sources of healing ( sigil, reg and omnom ghost ) + perma protection, fury, might, swiftness, regeneration, vigour and 35sec of stability. chill on weapon switch. evade on weapon skills. the survivability is great in small scare havoc group roaming and hits up to 6k with maul are possible.

i dont build for pve when i play wvw btr condition build seems to be the best for camp flipping. 30-40 sec if not defended and / or upgraded. full upgraded camp is possible in around 90sec.

points? we get 1 point not from ppt so we were happy. and maybe 60 wxp ( 75 if outnumbered ) it is pretty hard to find enemys that run our group size. everybody is looking for stupid zombiemode brain afk 25+ zerging. ez mode and max reward ( in terms of ingame achivement, no reward in fun and challenging fights )

yes, no zerg from whatever server is hesitating to usually kill a lonely roamer unfortunate enough to cross its way, but in my experience (may differ from yours, yes, thats cool, no problem with that) BB in special is going any length to hunt one down. especially in the nights when they seem to fight empty maps. (that fun?)

If you’re a roaming guy, you get used to people chasing you 1v5+, or 1vzergs. Some days it will happen more often than not but still…
Sometimes I call it a good day if I can have at least 4 or 5 good fights, lol

yesterday a bb commander with his zerg chased me and a comrade of my while our zerg was in their garni. ( we played tagless lvl 21 and 26 warriors ) was very fun to support our server this way keep the upscale chasing up, BB. was fun to watch

black sheep are on every server.

the problem with vizuna is they run if they dont outnumber you 2:1. we take fights 2:1 if the are the outnumbered and still win and stomp.

but i have to admit that vizuna has increased a lot in open field battles the last times we meet. it is the server i respect the most in eu. spezial kudos to their sportsmanship. they naver /laugh or jump on your corpse.

U did really well, and i hope we will face Kodash again, really enjoyed the fights in the borderlands.

i just attack the keep guards when i pass by to get the reward. you will see me once a week in a keep ( for a afk break ) so i need something to other then pve crap to show the results of my work ( and the work of all kodash people that think the same as i do )

we have a lot of small scale guilds that run setups of 3-6 ppl roaming groups. switching the bloodlust buff, taking camps, dolyaks and of course killing a whole lot of people. 3 days ago we had a fight 3 vs 15-25 ( depends on the number we have stomped, they always came back ^^ ) the fight lasts 20 minutes and we did around 100-120 stomps. pretty awesome fight, sad that noone recorded. at the end we had to run from 30+ ppl. kitten ae limit of 5 ppl you can hit. hits us small scaler the most.

i have two build i run atm. 1 condition and 1 dd. in our first duel i had my bersi stuff equiped, in the second my condition. first was won pretty fast, the second could go on forever. we both had our moments with 5% life left, when he was in trouble he teleported around like crazy, when i was nearly down i used my heal skill + blast finishers + block / evade skills. next time will fight with my bersi build, thiefes condition remove is simply to stong.

the fight when my provider gave me a new ip and i flew out of the game wasnt in tikis favor at the moment it happens. but i would love to fight you guys again and i will enjoy it to lose. these make you stronger as a player.

I read sword you can do this similar with the monarch leap.. How do you actually pull this off? Do you clear your target after the first jump back, turn around and use it?
