So, you place energy sigils on both of your weapons, and then you complain when you have too much endurance that you’re having to waste it.
Then, apparently, in order to fix this issue, you have to evade 30 feet away from your opponent, when you could’ve combo’d your evade with Slice and done more damage overall while still fulfilling your trait requirements.

I played against a stunlock warrior from my guild yesterday, and I don’t want them nerfed. They’re strong, but fun to play against and you can beat them if you grind them down enough.
I think we should nerf mesmers though, because what’s a class update without a mesmer nerf?
tanky phantasm mesmers using soldier trinket(power,tough,vit) are insane in duels. cuz even if they hav 4% critical chance they can still do lots of crit cuz they hav this fury on phantasm traits and signet of illusion makes phantasm more HP. so basically their utlities are Decoy, Signet of illusion, Blink. but i don’t think these phantasm will last long in team clash. shatter mesmer will do its job in team clash though. and needs skill

Also, no thief using that weapon combination ? Ok sometimes thieves go d/p to brutalize necromancers but sword/dagger still stands as the strongest 1v1 thief build right now. Where have you been all this time when people complained about larcenous strike brokeness like no tomorrow ? Anet even nerfed that freaking thing (same patch that reduced dhum fire from 4 seconds to 2 seconds) and it is still the strongest land weapon skill in the game. If you genuinely think that no thief uses that weapon set you are either trolling or unexperienced. (although i often see shadow refuge used instead of rolling for ini)
And you are either daft or ignorant quite frankly. Nobody uses double Sword/Dagger anymore, neither does anybody use RFI among other things (which makes me wonder where you have been all this time).
So let’s summarize:
- He’s using a 0/30/0/30/10 build (So no Mug and no Serpent’s Touch) on top of the lower damage output of the build compared to the 10/30/0/30/0 build. Mug, Serpents Touch and Pain Response would have made a huge difference in this fight.
- He’s using double S/D, which nobody runs with anymore and never was a good idea to begin with (though one could argue it was viable before the Infiltrator’s Strike "nerf)
- He’s not using Pain Response, which practically 90% of the S/D thieves use since the necromancer changes and which would have come quite handy here as well
- He’s using RFI, Infiltrator’s and Agility. Most thieves will either run with Shadowstep, Refuge (or both) and the Assassin’s Signet (and Infiltrator’s Signet, if they don’t run with Shadowstep for the stun break), as that’s the most effective set of utilities
- He’s using Energy sigils, when 95% of the S/D builds out there are either using Fire or Air for the extra punch
So basically out of 7 traits that the meta 10/30/0/30/0 build you mentioned uses, he’s running 5 and not even the same trait or stat distribution (and I am being generous, because most S/D thieves have also dropped Signet Use by now).
Out of 2 preferred weapon sets, he’s only using one that we see in a S/D build nowadays and out of the 3 preferred utilities, he’s also only using 1. Furthermore he’s using different sigils.
It’s a completely different build basically.
you’re 95% correct…. my sets of weapons are Sword (force sigil) / Dagger (energy sigil) and on other set no mainhand and just Dagger( energy sigil) i used force instead of fire or air cuz the cooldown of energy sigil shares with these fire/ air sigils.
So, you took another video of your crappy playstyle/build and used it to justify the idea that warriors are OP?
Your evades are wasted, and honestly all I’m seeing is a really, really bad 3 spam.

It’s also not even close to 1.2k healing/second (he was getting roughly 850/second with Leeching sigils)

Every class with bunker/condi builds seems getting popular and impossible to beat by thieves if theyre very good at playing to their particular class, u know why? thieves can’t be a bunker like them so its kinda impossible or always getting a hard time with em.

well i use to spam 33 , 33 when my target evaded twice that means hes now lack of endurance for another evade so…. that wud makes sense. but my usual combo is pre cast FS then Steal/Infiltrator’s Signet+ LS (with basilisk stone) as opener then while hes stoned another FS>LS

We have to ignore the Reputation – people still cry about HS spam from time to time. Mindless FS/LS spam is exactly as effective as mindless HS Spam – it’s useless. Used at the right time, however, both can be very effective.
LS is fine at 2 initiative – it does a lot. I’d prefer to see FS remain3 init, and return 1 Init on hit.
What really needs to be looked at is base thief initiative regen. Thieves need better base init regen, and the traits that affect initiative regen need to be adjusted accordingly. Thieves should have something similiar to every other classes “% Faster CD and additional effect” based on wielded weapon.

Try my 10/0/0/30/30 build (if you like, run Zerker amulet and jewel, it works quite well too). I’ve played S/D + SB for ages and I’ve been hugely successful with this build.
ya iv tried that build also but no shortbow… double S/D and with 3 init. on weapon swap trait. ya its good especially for boon dependent bunkers. but now im back to my old school build D/P + shortbow cuz i just learned how to do 4HS in black powder i can do it almost 80 – 90% everytime ima doin it! so addictive
and if u gonna recap the last 5v5 finals of Mist League between [TP] vs [CC], thieves has the poorest gameplay and poor capability in team clash (except shadow refuge+revive) and these are all skillful players
spirit way super bunker rangers with unlimited burn, protection caused by spirits and decent bleeds! kitten OP!, condition kiting engineers really hard to catch and their conditions are insane! every meta build of every class nowadays seems getting too OP except thieves..
iv tried everything on thief but this new meta necro torment with 3 fears, phantasm bunker mesmers with only have 4% crit chance but with their Phantasmal Fury trait every hit of their phantasms can do critical damage and many survival utilities!
any S/D + non S/D(ex. Shortbow) is not viable anymore in spvp or tpvp cuz of high init. cost of Larcenous strike or unless if you gonna go S/D+S/D. so most of the players now using S/P Shortbow cuz pistol whip dmg is really good with stunevade and 5init. cost is just fine! 1 pistol whip can kill a foe @ 70% hp… but LS 5 init. cost 1/2sec casting time is really hard to hit unless if u gonna spam it… but 1 FS+LS damage is almost 40%-50% lesser than the dmg of 1 pistol whip flurries.

So, first of all, before we do anything else, remember that this is in hotjoin, not tPvP (which, if you couldn’t tell, is able to be seen by the number of people in the game.
0:12: Lays down a Shadow Refuge while the entire enemy team walks right past it. One warrior sees it, runs up and bashes him with her axe, and instead of thinking “OMG my chain just went to the second skill, somebody’s hiding there!” she just runs off to join her similarly stupid friends. Kill steal was pretty expectable at this point.
0:25: Randomly lays down a Shadow Return. Would have expected it to be used to condi cleanse or perhaps juke out opponents, but no, it was just randomly used.
0:38: Uhhhhhhhh…
1:18: Wastes a Shadow Refuge to stomp an opponent who was probably going to be screwed over anyways, and of course the engi rez’s either way. If nothing else, a CnD would have sufficed anyways.
1:27: CnD’s with Revealed still on… Nice.
1:32: Yeah, I have no idea if the game was just bugging out or his targeting sucked.
1:38: Finally uses CnD successfully on a downed opponent…! Damage kills him.
2:27: DAT CAMERA WUT
2:35: for the first time in the entire match, successfully stealth stomps a player using CnD.
2:42: “Unlucky”. Well, first of all, this is a relatively well-known bug that happens with pretty much all teleports. For example, go to the cannon area on Capricorn, then go to the lower level and try to Infi Strike an opponent on the platform above you. Sometimes it works, but today, after doing the same thing over and over and over again, if didn’t. Either way, why the kitten would you blow an infi signet just like that? Just another reason to use a Shortbow.

Don’t get me wrong, you’re not a bad player, per se… I’ve seen players echelons below you, who sucked so badly that they would have been better off just throwing Dancing Dagger for the entire game. But this build… This video is a perfect example of why it sucks. A lot. Hell, you could do the same damage with my 10/0/0/30/30 build with Zerker amulet easily, and with the same survivability, but you would probably play infinitely better than you did here. Even I with my standard build (10/0/0/30/30 w/ Soldier’s Amulet), which, supposedly, “doesn’t kill anything”, would have been far better off than you were in this video.
I’m glad that people copy other people’s builds off the internet and then call themselves champions, though. Heck, you even looked exactly like Jumper (or, at least, how he used to look; don’t know if anything’s changed).

Ive been using this in WvW recently too, mainly just for lulz, but I use shadowstep and shadow refugee so I can get away from random zergs that find me, and roll for ini in the last skill slot. So signet recharge time trait is out, and precision to vit trait is in. I also have issues with damage output, and people trying to run away from me, so I tried using caltraps on dodge for a bit, and that didnt work out as well as I had hoped, so I went back to fury/might/swiftness on stealth. I use PVT weapons and armor, berserker trinkets, lyssa runes, energy/force sigils.

how does it work now with all the S/D nerfs?
before my rotation was FS>LS with 3,3, evade continuously but now its alot harder it shud be 3>3>#1+evade(cancel animation of #1 skill but it still hits while evading) or sometimes 3,3>1,1>evade>1 remember the last slice hits hard too like Larcenous strike!

every class has their own role… it is just that no particular build/class can beat all builds and class, when u say 1 on 1 yea its not balance though, but anet didn’t built this game for 1 on 1 purpose
i luv the Signet of Power trait in this build gains 5stacks mights for 13secs when u use a signet, cuz the 65% crit chance (no fury) is too much, so i guess no need for additional +7% crit chance trait (while hitting @ back/side)

ah still figuring out what utility shud i use in team fights, that ShadowRefuge or ShadowStep cuz i luv shadow step stomp while finishing… SR seems good but i hate it when they’re spamming AOES into that radius of SR while im reviving allies sometimes it downs me

hahaha i laughed hard when i read this LOL!. so when i’m D/D and my HS is on cooldown cuz i spammed it twice… what skill shud i use nxt? dancing dagger spam and death blossom? and when im S/D and i used Larcenous strike (1/2 sec casting time ) this skill is pretty hard to hit and can be easily dodge when i used this skill twice it will hav a cooldown!?? so my gain initiative traits are all useless then?

Well you can’t expect to play against focus eles and mesmers who don’t know how to use their heal skill all tournament can you?
I’m a good engi and while I don’t really play turrets or the build you fought against often after watching the video i’m confident I could still play just as well as that engie. I’d offer to duel you a ton but frankly the way you duel is cheesy and frustrating. You just drag a lost fight out as long as possible by leaving the dueling circle and hiding until you have enough health and elite cooldowns back to start the fight over. It makes the event boring and it’s why so few people participate and view these tournaments.
we’re not allowed to use healing skills in overtime round. 1st one who uses heal skill will lose. ya everyone does that when an engineer used his elite turret we kite around hide behind the pillar. and when that elite turret gone. thats the time we shud initiate… we’re playing for the gem prize though. and i want it too!
engineers are the most OP class when u maximize all his capability. ok so i lose again to an engineer in N.M.C.C I and II, it is a 1v1 tournament. any engineers out there can play really well on this Condi/bunker/turret build? for duel practice. im willing to pay ya. just pm me in game Coloxus
I didn’t look at your build but the d/p 10/30/0/0/30 build is pretty good at dropping bunkers.
i have tried that build too but S/P pistol whip and shortbow it’s bursty too with trait steal 2 boons on steal but im not that good on this build…. i have a friend who can play that build so perfectly! and i wanna retry that build soon.

PvE. i still prefer D/D +Shortbow or S/P pistolwhip +shortbow. any builds will do for as long as u have the 30 critical strikes Executioner trait. and for pvp all those builds iv posted are all good. it is just i like S/D for non-stop actions and putting alot of pressure on foe by stealing their boons and very evasive

yes it is still viable. but it’s kinda impossible to stop a good bunker guardians/ engies or BM rangers who usually do their job on holding points.
