A little advice?

I struck a balance:

Knight’s armour
Berserker’s weapons and accessories

Works out pretty well. Though when running with people who are full Berserker it gets annoying as you grab all the aggro and Warriors are not meant to tank like that.

This is a great set to utilize. Great for learning and eventually going Full Berserker if you desire so.

I personally like to do GS/Hammer a lot in dungeons.
I run a lot of pubs so the Hammer is invaluable to me when we run into a WTF moment and need some immediate CC to regroup.

PvE Shield Warrior build ideas

I wasn’t aware that the build editor I posted had outdated skills. In any case, for the warrior at least, the gear and traits seem to be fine. I don’t know why you claim traits are outdated, AFAIK Anet hasn’t changed any warrior traits, just fixed bugs…

I will verify to make sure skills and traits aren’t current for other classes. Also the fact that you claim there is no PVE gear in the build editor shows you have not used the site very much…go take a second look then come back and say that again. (I fixed the link)

Hmmm….Kinda think it’s a little bit silly that warriors aren’t effective with the shield as the traditional stereotype of a warrior is sword/shield

I agree completely. Go tell that to Anet and see if they listen. (good luck with that)

IMO to make the current shield skills remotely effective they would need to reduce the recharge time of #4 to 10 sec and #5 to at least 15 sec. Even then, without any other effect, they would be mediocre. To make them more useful they should increase the stun of skill #4 to be adrenaline based and add a damage reflection effect to skill #5.

Don’t know about that…
With the 20% shield trait, you would have an interrupt every 8s (okay, that’s not that bad)… but 3s of invulnerability every 12 seconds…?
Maybe 20s to make it a solid 16s with the trait.

Zerker Vs. Zerker

Build 1: 20/30/0/0/20
VS.
Build 2: 20/25/0/10/15

What do you run for:
A) Dungeons
B) Farm (CoF p1 mainly lol)

Just wanted to go over some quick things with each side.

Strength
Both utilize it the same way

Arms
Build one can utilize Deep Wounds, Rending Strikes, and Forceful Greatsword.
On the other hand, build two must take out either deep wounds or rending strikes.

Defense
None.

Tactics
Build one does not utilize tactics.
Build two invests ten points in order to receive empowered (2.5%damage per boon)

Discipline
Both builds utilize Heightened Focus; however, build one also utilizes Signet Mastery for easier access to Fury (SoR).

Overall
Build 1:
-50 more precision and condition damage
-BOTH rending and deep
-Quicker Signet recharge
-5% critical damage .5% burst damage
(30s fury + 8s fury + 4~16s fury) = 42~54s of fury = perma fury (Need 42)

Build 2:
-100 more vitality
-10% more boon duration
-2.5% damage per boon (Might Perma, Fury High, Swiftness 1/2 up-time -self boon-)
(33s fury + 9s fury + 4~17s fury) = 46~59s of fury = high fury (Need 60)

This is assuming that GS/Axe-axe is being utilized.
I realize that most people prefer GS/Axe-mace. Is the extra stacks of vulnerability and #5 worth it overall? For dungeons? For Farm?

What is, in your opinion, the best overall Zerker build?

Just out of curiosity guys
Some guys were discussing this in map chat today in WvWvW lol.. of all places..

I think what Wethospu is trying to say is that gearchoice is not as important as you try to make it. No amount of advice on these forums and “optimal” builds can substitute just playing the game a lot and getting a feel for various encounters.

Cavalier/Zerk IMO gives best dps/defense ratio, especially for hammer builds that use unsuspecting foe. Hitting stunned targets literally means getting 50% crit chance
~1050 precisions for free (1% is about 21 or so precision). Also since obtaining perma fury for warriors is so easy, and with highest base health, a full zerk would lose to a cavalier/zerk geared warrior.

http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/warrior/?8|2.1g.hm|c.1g.h1l.e.1g.h4|1g.71g.1g.71g.1p.71i.1p.71i.1g.71i.1g.71i|2v.0.2v.0.3v.0.2v.0.3v.0.2v.0|a5.a4.k1a.a1.k5a|1.1|e

almost 39% dmg reduction while still getting 50% consistent crit chance and 100% on earthshaker and shield bash (+ whatever attacks are done while opponent is still stunned). I two shotted a glass thief in WvW today (Earthshaker 5.6k crit, 6.4k crit on backbreaker). Ill get screenies next time >.>

Edit: Of course i didnt get accesories yet, but I plan to aim for full cavalier trinkets.

Because I find going for Knights with Berserker trinket to be far more useful.
On top of that, since damage is the warriors role (and Berserker Trinket ascended are much harder to acquire than armor sets) I find it to be better to go berserker trinkets.

Maybe they want to keep crit damage up? I’m actually thinking of doing Cavaliers on my Elementalist just because of that. Since I keep 30 in Air (so 30% crit damage from traits), it still benefits me to improve that stat while splashing some toughness on the build (don’t need percision, wears Valkyrie armor and just whatever rings/trinkets I got as drops). Basically, I like having 95% crit damage and 14k(EDIT: 16.5k) HP and toughness would help more than precision to make better use of the HP.

Perhaps it’s just people value stats differently from build to build. You could say extra survival is only for if you can’t time your dodges right…but it also comes in handy when someone else has a bad run of luck and you want to help them out without fearing for you life in the process.

Okay so I did some quick math and looked up the thing you said about more crit damage. Overall, these are the difference I found.

Knight Armor / Berserker Acc = 100 more power stat = 500 more effective power
Knight Armor / Berserker Acc = about 400 more precision (17.91% extra chance)
Berserker Armor / Cavalier Acc = about 250 more toughness = 7.1% mitigation more
Berserk Armor / Cavalier Acc = 16% more critical damage

So basically, it comes down to:
500 more effect power and 18% more crit chance
VS.
7.1% more damage mitigation and 16% more critical damage.

Overall, the Berserker/Cavalier Acc actually provides more beefiness while the Knight/Berserker Acc provides more DPS and still good survivability (about 25% mitigation).

What makes it a definite win for the Knight/Berserker Accessories is the price of replacement (including time). I have a full set of Berserker armor anyways, and it only costs about 22 gold where as changing trinkets takes… forever w/ dailies + farming… lol

Well, Knight/Berserker it is! Hope this math helps others~

Higher DPS? Axe/mace or GS?

I saw those calculations before, and they are wrong. (Well, at least the calculating I saw)
They guy was assuming Greatsword immediately = 25stack might.

I did not do tests with any pre-gained might stacks. Neither did i do calculations.
GS DPS is higher than Axe/Any DPS, in about 99% of all situations in open world PvE and Dungeons. Even on single target. It also inflicts more vulnerability.
And to tell you: with GS you will be able to maintain about 7-9 Might stacks for each target.

no axe has higher DPS when traited.

I used to be like you guys saying GS is king DPS.
NO..

I was so wrong when traited in axe.

Axe/S btw…. 10% crit chance with blade master… 10% crit severity with axe mastery.
Watch your auto spam attack 100% crit.

Substained DPS… AXE wins.
Spike DPS… GS win.

CoF…. warriors who do sub 7 min runs are using BOTH GS / AXE.
5sec weapon swap allows u to spam HB.. then quickly go back to AXE, then back to HB right as the cooldown is worn off…

You cant match DPS on ANY class in this setup on a warrior…

So you believe i tested Axe DPS with a GS Build? Lol. I’ve been using 30/10/0/0/30 on Axe. GS still has a higher DPS output, if you don’t believe it just try out yourself.

@CookMETender. I do not feel offended by your posts, i just can’t understand how people can still claim Axe/Any’s DPS higher than GS’s whithout testing it themselves. If people would start thinking and less reproducing distorted calculations the whole discussion about which weapon offers more DPS won’t come up at all.

To clear up things once more: The “activation time” of the skills ingame or in wiki is not the real time it takes to channel the whole autoattack chain. The damage numbers shown in skills description/wiki are not right. Trying to calculate the overall DPS by doing some maths with wrong numbers won’t tell you much except bullkitten.
GS offers more DPS than Axe, if hitting multiple targets and probably having chance to WW to a wall, about 33% more. If hitting only 1 target landing 100b not fully and only using it all 8 seconds, GS still deals very slightly more DPS than Axe with Eviscerate + Autoattack spam.

If you are so keen on convincing people that GS has higher DPS over time as well, just put up a simple youtube video with 20s of attacking with each.

Cool thank you for the pic!!!

Since you’re obviously so interested in maximizing your gear, judging by all your posts asking for advice (and ignoring it), you should maybe learn some maths?

You seem to be incapable of comprehending anything. I know math, and so does everyone else. I’m looking for people that are actually DOING what they are claiming. Theory crafting is great and all, but I’ve done and seen enough… I want to see actual results.

Judging by your idiotic comment, maybe you should learn to read?

That’s what I’m thinking.
90% (Not all, mind you people that will flame saying “not me!”) of the people that say go for Cavaliers have been all talk and no screen shots or videos. They say that Cavalier is better overall and say the extra defense is worth it…. then in another thread they say to go berserker ascended and that glass cannon is best if you know how to play.

I’m sitting here thinking, “wtf?”

Thanks for the reply!

Both are true.
If you know how to play full zerk is acceptable but in case of inevitable damage you die.
Cavalier gives more failsafe when such inevitable damage happens, also gives you more staying power.

I got zerkers for my own Warrior. I hold the point still that of all classes, Warrior needs defense stats the least. You get 20k HP and heavy armor for just being a Warrior. Anything more is because you have difficulty timing your dodges/blocks/evades or completely wasted DPS opportunities. If you think you need some extra toughness, slot some Soldier runes to get it and some extra condition removal (as you’ll inevitably always have at least FGJ on) or Divinity Runes before ever considering stepping away from berserkers on Warrior.

I think we actually need it more as heavy barely has more defense than medium and light… and warriors don’t have too much sustain options… but even with those problems, I think Anet needs to give us more tools and that we should be sticking with Berserker accessories like you say

Well, Adrenal Health is always nice I suppose. But it was mostly for the Mace trait as Mace 4 and 5 have pretty long cooldowns.

Adrenal Health is very nice, but you need more reasons to invest for these skills. Mace skills do have very high cooldowns, but are very useful.
Is it worth losing 200 stats (in another category) AND those traits in order to gain faster mace?

I can only think of few circumstances where it is…
The first would be in WvWvW where you are specifically focused on knockdowns (like hammer/mace/shield which I have used for quite a lot of lulz)…
or dungeons where you just want a ridiculous amount of CC

I would say stick with zerker trinkets as cavalier does have a huge trade off in both power and precision.

That’s what I’m thinking.

Thanks for the reply!

Why can’t both be true? Going Cavalier for your trinkets means you can either go full offense for the rest of your gear, have a bit of sturdiness to your bite and not sacrifice crit damage, or accent any other toughness/defensive traits with toughness while still improving your bursts. The other is just stronger for damage overall. The way you describe those posts, they’re just keeping in mind the advantages and disadvantages of being a hybrid and a offense focused build.

As for my plan, I keep the armor/weapons/trinkets berserker but I haven’t gotten the berserker amulet yet (dunno why I decided to get both my warriors ascended crap…) and haven’t gotten infused versions of their rings either. It’s still rather a hybrid though since the traits, runes and sigils will likely be defensive which is fine since they’re so easy to swap around.

Because I find going for Knights with Berserker trinket to be far more useful.
On top of that, since damage is the warriors role (and Berserker Trinket ascended are much harder to acquire than armor sets) I find it to be better to go berserker trinkets.

Basically Berserk armor/weapons with Cavalier trinkets
Armor: Berserker with Ruby Orbs with the exception of 2x Rune of the Rage
Weapon: Berserker Axe and Mace with Force & Generosity Sigil
Trinkets: Ascended Cavalier with the exception of 2x Exotic Cavalier earrings with Ruby Orbs
Traits: 20/30/0/0/20
Boons: Discipline Banner, FGJ!, Signet of Rage

Why take a screenshot of your stats after stating your trinkets…?
Can you take a shot of your trinkets instead? That would be far more useful to me for the purposes of this post.

Cavalier is not a DPS set, it’s a burst set with a toughness buffer. If you setup your traits and boons properly for crit chance, then utilise chain-knockdown/stun combos it might have some limited use in WvW if you think you can manage acceptable damage output on live targets and could use that extra toughness buffer. For my PvE/WvW warrior I use knight armour/weapons and berserker trinkets, rune of the soldier for team utility. In your case I recommend sticking to zerker accessories and slotting armour either with ruby orbs or runes of the ogre for dps. A mix of cavalier and zerker offers no tangible benefits vs mix of knight and zerker in a PvE setting, so I’d recommend against it. Similarly, a mix of knights and cavaliers is generally pointless.

Thank you, this was what I was thinking. Quite a few people have been talking about Berserker armor with Cavalier trinkets which makes absolutely no sense to me. The goal is to reach the highest possible DPS while being able to survive. Ascended accessories are so much harder to get (while full knight and berserker gear is only 22g) so I find it better to get full Knight armor (when toughness is necessary) and getting Berserker accessories.

Thanks for the reply. I have yet to see someone with a screenshot of an ascended cavalier trinket. All my guildies who are running high fractals and end-game instances are all going Berserker accessories.

No.
If you’re already thinking about investing in the defense tree for it, then I guess it would be a nice pick up..
But if you weren’t investing in defense in the first place, I think it’s a complete waste to put 20 into defense for a single trait.

Okay, I watched all your videos, and that is awesome, but I take no pleasure in Solo-ing end-game content lol
I was wondering what would the most effective set up for party play?
I realize that there are a variety of roles, but I’m just wondering what you would say.
GS/Axe/Mace w/ what skills? etc. etc.
Nice solo videos though! I enjoyed watching which weapons you used for each situations and the constant changing of skills.
I do that occasionally, but to be completely honest, I just want to stick with fewer things to change and just play where the other 4 members are doing their roles. I can do hard-core gaming, but at this point in my life and a large workload from my final semester of college, I just want to have a pretty decent party build and play pretty casual w/o sacrificing too much

I just do damage, with minimal defenses required. GS + Axe/Mace is good on non-bosses but if you hate swapping I would go with Warhorn for group-mobility. Thing is, I really wouldn’t just stick with same setup all the time, small tweaks really make a difference.
My utilities usually are Frenzy! (fun), FGJ! and Banner of Discipline but again changed based on situation.

Can you take a screenshot and/or list your equipment please?
Also, if you ever have time, can you show me a run you do with a party?
I’m not doubting your skill, you are an amazing warrior, but I just want to see how you play in a party and with what gear

After close inspection of some of the posts, I realized half the people posting here are nothing more than theorycrafters that are pretending to actually run their builds. It’s extremely frustrating because they theory-craft and argue that they’re builds are better, but every other thread they are posting the build they are “currently using” changes. They have little to no experience with the builds.

So, what Ascended Trinket did you get and/or what are you planning to get?
If you are planning to get one, just state which one and why.
If you have gotten one, please post kitten and why so all the other warriors here and learn and understand your choices.

Hopefully the SS will guarantee that we have actual end-game warriors that are posting… and we won’t all be led astray by theory crafters that think everything is as it is on paper.
I’m not saying theory crafting is bad, but to give advice to someone based purely on theory crafting is pretty bad.

That being said, I was thinking of using my full Knight’s w/ ruby that I have and getting Berserker Ascended Accessories. Do you guys think that is a good choice?
Or do you think Cavalier is a better choice? If so, why??? Because there seems to be a huge trade-off in effective power.

You hit for less than a DPS Guardian and survive/support less than a Support Guardian, what’s the point?
Roll a Guardian if you want that.

Have you played either a guardian or a warrior before?
A DPS guardian still does less DPS than a pretty solid warrior (30%+ mitigation).

Power vitality and toughness is better than power healing power and toughness ? The reason I ask is the Cleric Armor has power healing power and toughness.

Power healing toughness is okay too if you plan to specialize on being a cleric – healing friends w/ your shouts or supporting your team with your banners.

No it’s not 0_0..
It would actually be more efficient to just have other stats and do more damage…
Unless you mean going pure cleric and staying back lol

The only difference between pvt and hpt is the former has more vitality. In terms of power is the same. So, this reply makes no sense.

OP, you can also have both sets or a mixture of both sets. ;3 You must first try it out and see if it works for you.

Where in my statement do I computer PVT and HPT?
I say healing in general is not worth stacking.

I saw those calculations before, and they are wrong. (Well, at least the calculating I saw)

I was never referring to your tests.
I’m not sure how you got “your tests” from “those calculations.”
First off, I don’t make a reference to you. Second, I say calculations, not tests…
I think you’re getting offended by my posts. You seem to be a little flustered.

Hundred Blades roots you in place and Whirling Attack forces you in a straight line through and away from mobs. How is this “more mobility” than Axe/X?

With Axe/X, you can move freely around without concern for either.

Because Whirlwind counts as an evade and Rush is faster than normal movement speed.
It’s essentially two free dodges. That’s a hell of a lot of mobility.

I think we are talking about two separate things here.

That’s not mobility (ability to move around freely), that’s survivability (extra dodges).

HB counting as an evade doesn’t change the fact that you can not move while performing the ability. WA being faster than normal movement speed doesn’t change the fact that you are forced to move in one direction instead of being free to move in any direction you wish.

The definition of the word “Mobility” has nothing to do with avoiding damage, it has only to do with your ability to move around freely.

Um, no. I would define mobility as the ability to move, period.
I would define survivability as the ability to stay alive drawn from the sources of mobility, raw stats, boons, etc.

I rather be forced to move in one direction faster than moving normally at a normal speed. Walking away when the boss is going to hit you is, in my opinion, useless mobility.
You’re argument is completely off your own definition/perception of mobility.

Also, don’t get me wrong, I use axe/mace… but to claim that axe has more mobility is pure bologna. Axe/Mace has more free movement.

+1
Listen to this guy. It’s wise to avoid daecollo.
Also, be wary of some of the people posting. A lot of their comments contradict each other across threads. There are quite a few guys whose builds mysteriously change every time they post.

Hi guys,
And yes….another one of these. Lol.
I’ve spent a fair amount of time trying the different profs of the game and finally narrowed it down. My main will be an Ele, simply because of their versality in so many situations. BUT, i get burnt out quick and I want a melee driven class. (Hated thief, btw)

Then you probably don’t want Warrior, Warriors are either shout/banner or rifle or longbow, all of them will help your team and give you lots of ranged damage.

Ok, I got ya. Yeah, I mainly don’t want to be “stuck” with having to build a certain way, i.e. full defense to survive dungeons. I understand I won’t be running glass cannon in dungeons, as I’m certainly not on the skill level yet to time dodging, distance, etc. So I guess I’m wondering, can I be survivable in dungeons (if played half-way intelligently, of course), but still lay the smackdown with DPS properly? Or does a Warrior have to load up on Def traits?

Don’t listen to him. With the current state of the warrior, you have a steep learning curve because we have very little to no sustainability.
Just spec a bit into defense, go defense-based armor, and pick up a shield + endure pain if you extremely bad at dodging and new to dungeons

Thank you for that. Also, do we contribute decently to a group? Like our banners and shouts? Is it odd if a warrior would run with full banners going or full shouts, or a mix of both filling Util bar?

How well you contribute is more based on how well you play
That being said, banner warrior is an excellent source of aid for the team. The regeneration is very nice as well… and nothing like instant resurrecting your team with Warbanner. However, if there is another source of regeneration, it is better to avoid going banners.

Then there are the shout builds. It’s not a bad way to learn how to play as your DPS is still decent and you get a few extra heals… The best thing about this is that you get used to the ranges of shouts… but I honestly would not recommend it. The heals are rather small and not worth the amount of efficient power you sacrifice. If you really love supporting though, it’s not a bad build.

If you go three shouts, make sure they are “For Great Justice” “On My Mark” “Shake it Off”
You want to maximize boon duration w/ runes and trait line. It’s a pretty good learners build although I would recommend just getting Knight’s exotics and learning from there.
After hundreds of hours of gameplay, I still use full Knight’s w/ Berserker accessories. 300ish power for 2x damage mitigation =

Not sure why are we talking about “burst” healing?

Shouts on wiki:
Formula: 40+((Level^2) x 0.18) + (Healing x 0.8)
At 0 healing at level 80: 40 + 1152 = 1192
At 1500 healing at level 80: 40 + 1152 + 1200 = 2392

Because you can fire off 3 in a row for all the healing upfront rather than waiting for regen to tick. If you’re about to die you don’t have time to wait for 200hp/s.

Or you speck for damage instead of shout heals and you take endure pain with you. More? A shield. More? L2P. Shout heals aren’t that great man. It’s not bad to have, but you seriously gimp your damage. I’ve tried my own shout builds and the Sonic Boon that everyone was talking about for a while. It’s a waste.

Hi guys,
And yes….another one of these.

Hundred Blades roots you in place and Whirling Attack forces you in a straight line through and away from mobs. How is this “more mobility” than Axe/X?

With Axe/X, you can move freely around without concern for either.

Because Whirlwind counts as an evade and Rush is faster than normal movement speed.
It’s essentially two free dodges. That’s a hell of a lot of mobility.

Shout heal isn’t worth it.
Simple as that lol

It’s a great build to learn placement, battle awareness, etc..
but I’ve tested it and found that it gimps a LOT more DPS than the sonic boon dude claims.
You gain about about 10 more stacks of might than another warrior might while sacrificing a hell of a lot of effective power and crit chance.
It’s a good support build, but I would rather just have guardians booning me

Shout heal is like evasive arcana, except it can’t be used every 10 seconds and takes 3 utility slots.

…. I’m sorry, but how is this a response to what I said…? Lol

Higher DPS? Axe/mace or GS?

CookMETEnder.7582

He was acting like GS did double the damage of axe/mace.

If 100b can be landed fully all time and 2 or more targets can be hit, GS deals about 30+% more damage than Axe/Any. Of course this isn’t very realistic in all situations but happens quite often in dungeons like arah.

I saw those calculations before, and they are wrong. (Well, at least the calculating I saw)
They guy was assuming Greatsword immediately = 25stack might.
10~15 is a realistic range if you’re running a DPS build. I don’t find increasing might duration to be all that effective. Let me look around again, but I believe it was mid-teens.

So is it opinion or has one been proven superior by data?

I always use axe/mace but I just had someone on my server call me a troll/newb because I said axe/mace is better than GS.

I’m not a number cruncher so my experiments usually consist of me attacking a veteran then adding up the numbers in my combat log. I don’t really know how to do a real official test.

100B usually hits around 20K maybe higher.

I added up 1 rotation of my axe auto attack and it was at 18K just from the 6 hits. I’m fairly certain 3 chains from the axe totaling to six hits goes off faster than 100B but I didn’t use a stopwatch or in any way time my test.

Also I can move and never lose dps on my axe/mace whereas any bossfight that becomes mobile you’re automatically gimped with GS.

If someone has already done these tests with a more closed system to not get numbers screwed up I would love if someone would share a link.

Vulnerability increases your team’s overall damage as well and axe/mace, w/o vulnerability, still does more DPS realistically. That being said, GS has unmatched mobility. Another free dodge and a bull’s charge-like distance movement skill.
Helps a lot. I’m trying out GS/Axe/Mace right now haha

Wait… 60% from runes? I was under the impression that it was 15% from the duos…
Can someone correct me?

Rune of the Fire – 20% might duration
Rune of Hoelbrak – 20% might duration
Rune of Strength – 20% might duration
Rune of the Pirate – 20% might duration

pick 3

Oh right, only might not boon…
Err… I don’t know man.
Boon/Shout warriors are already gimping their damage enough as it is…
Focusing solely on might, in my opinions, takes away even more DPS making it extremely inefficient. With the overall boon increase in shout builds, you can already maintain 22~25 stacks of might. No reason to go overkill and cut off the Fury, Swiftness, Vigor, etc… (I mention these others since I’m assuming you would get Empowered as a Tactic spec)

If I have to choose who is gonna have the aggro,… the warrior, the ele or the thief. I’d rather have it hands down.

Makes life easier for good players
Makes life possible for bad players

everyone wins

Yea, at first when I read that “toughness increases aggro,” I kind of facepalmed asking why would they do something stupid like that?
Then I read the wiki and saw how they prioritized it and how the dynamics of the table shift with distance and I fist pumped. Well, not really, but I imagine a fist pump in my head. I love the aggro table.

I must say though, the tanking tip about healing downed allies…? Pretty awesome

Warrior damage?

I feel like I’m doing less than optimal when it comes to damage on my Warrior. I’m doing 350-450 normals on monsters my level with Dual Axes, and with me getting to 76 today, it takes a decent amount of time for me to kill just one monster. Is there anything I can do to boost my damage, and is the damage I’m doing normal for Warriors?

Close this thread and/or delete before people get their pants in bundle about this.
Here is the answer:

Level up to 80. Gear up.
It is most likely a combination of the following reasons:
1. Signet Build – With every level past 60, you will notice quite a drop in DPS.
By the 72+, you notice monster crapping on you. Up to around 65, you could easily own monsters with a signet build + equipment you picked up.
2. Your equipment. I found that around 73? Monsters start scaling a little quicker than the drops you find. When you hit 80 and equip rares~exotics, you’ll find them to be trash again.
3. Your weapons. 61~73, for some reason, seems to be the dead weapon zone. Not sure if this happens to all, but from personal experience, these levels are where you find less weapons your level and your signet build goes to crap.

Knight Gear (ruby) Berserker Ascended (ruby) for content I am uncomfortable with.

If you’re all new to the considerably more punishing full berserker

I’d start out with Knight’s Head, chest, legs and rings and Berserker’s gloves, boots, shoulders, accessories, back, amulet and weapons everything with ruby orbs/jewels, unless you prefer a runeset (orbs are cheaper and provide more damage though, runes have utility)

The reason why I’d do this is simple.
Look at Exquisite Ruby and emerald Jewel. the former has a total of 40 statpoints and 3% critdmg the latter has 55 statpoints, which means you trade 5 statpoints per critdmg.

If you do the same comparison for berserker’s and knight’s chest. you’ll see that you trade 14.4 statpoints for each critdmg (you get 5 critdmg on berserker chest whereas you’d get 72 of another stat on knight’s)

Effectively, doing this you get more stats overall, you’re not as squishy and it doesn’t do whole lot to your aggro management, if you start to feel comfortable with this gear, switch to more berserker’s.

As a direct answer: Ascended is the best source of critdmg disregarding jewels iirc, so grab that and get defensive stats on another item if you need those. (and get amulet with laurels, since you can only get it with laurels.)

I’m not entirely new, but just kind of trying to work out a new build.
Also, I have full Draconic Knight and Berserker to mix and match.
I was thinking of going Berserker armor Berserker accessories all Ruby for things I’m comfortable with and Knight armor Berserker accessories all Ruby for things I might make a few mistakes in.

I wonder though, it Knight armor w/ Berserker Accessory better or Berserker armor w/ Cavalier accessory… hmmm

Also, I don’t want to “try” anything with ascended as Laurel farming is restricted lol

Thanks for the direct answer.
I’ll probably get berserker ascended.
Also, what is iirc? lol

If you try to melee the Volcano boss then you’re just simply kitten

Not true.
Actually, meleeing Imbued is almost an exploit as it makes the fight a joke.
If you do so the Imbued will continue to use the “fly and stomp” skill thing on you and never focus your team.
Simply put, rush to him, HB, when he goes up in the sky immediately whirl away, rinse and repeat.
If whirl is on CD simply rupt HB and double dodge away.
When adds spawn you break bubble and then stop hitting the boss completely (as should your team if they know how to play), burst adds down then continue the above strategy.

Your team will be immensely thankful to you that you made the hardest boss in fractals into a joke.

Or you could spam Rifle and shout healz from distance while your team dies as all bad Warriors do.

IIRC, you can just spam A and D at distance and its arrows will stray. And when you need to dodge every other second you probably do better at range. Fun though.

He probably wants to see videos with fixed life-steal food. SE Story will be the next one.

I love knights armor, and totally reccommend it.

I like how knights armor and ogre runes go pretty well together, because you have the power there, and the toughness to help you live. I honestly could care less about the crit % I lose out on with zerker. I’m really just now replaceing some of my kngihts with zerker, but i’m not going full zerker. I honestly should just stay full knights, I like the toughness way too much to give it up.

Toughness is a double-edged sword. It makes you tougher, yes, but it also makes you an aggro-magnet. That’s how Berserker Warriors actually work; they have no Toughness to draw aggro.

Have to go to school, but wait, can you explain?
Having higher toughness CAUSES aggro?

Oh my, yes. Stacking Toughness is one of the easier ways to make yourself an aggro-magnet.

Well, looks like I’ll be looking more into Berserker Ascended lol

So, the problem is that I have full Knight and Berserker armor.
I have access to any rune so that’s fine.. but..
I have a lot of laurels and some ascended drops, but I need to decide on the accessories before spending Laurels.

I’ve decided to go Full Berserk + Ruby or Divinity for Armor.
For Accessories, I’m torn between Berserker and Cavalier.

I’ve been having a blast w/ WvWvW lately, but I realize that I need the Cavalier for that because I would get owned with a glass cannon build.
If I did go Ascended Cavalier accessories, how much would my DPS be hurting?
I’ve done the builds and stuff, but I’m not sure how it would translate. Would it be a big notice? Should I just not do WvWvW? (It’s pretty recent, so I might get bored haha)

(Also, would having Full Berserk Accessories and switching between Knight and Berserker armor be efficient?)
