Good job.
Haha glad to see you enjoying it
3. Trolling / Misinformation
We need to tone it down. I frequent all the forums and I can say that the Warrior (at least in my perspective) is in such a crap hole. I understand that our sPvP sucks and that our WvWvW is limited to certain roles, but that is not a reason to incite other players to troll and to do so yourself. We all lose tempers… we all make mistakes… but we also need to learn and move on. If you are really fed up with the way things are, take a break and come back in half a year or more. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Misinformation… now this has got to be my biggest grievance about the Warrior forums. If you have no played a particular style, please refrain from recommending it or arguing it as a solid build. The amount of theory crafting going on is awesome. The amount of theory crafting being passed off as in-game experience is destructive. There is no need to pretend, so just leave it out.
Also, there seems to be a lot of speculation about toughness and its effect on aggro. Please note that a lot of it has no factual base. The wiki lists 5 causes of aggro. One is rather ambiguous and there is no mention of these being the only source.
One of the reasons is listed as shield/toughness; however, in-game play suggests that many bosses tend to deviate from this list.
There are many assumptions and many of these can be correct; however, until we have more information, there is no certainty. Do not pass assumptions as facts. This is where a lot of problems start.
A final “misinformation” that I would like to address. Warriors state in sPvP is pitiful. This is definite. Warriors state in WvWvW is not. There have been an abundance of complaints about the Warriors condition in WvWvW.
Truth is that we are viable in WvWvW; however, we are limited. We lack the freedom of choosing builds that we would like to run. We are also limited in the fact that there are quite a few roles we can not fill. This does not mean we are not viable.
Final Words
Well, none for now, but I really hope that we can start to improve the warrior community. I’m not condemning complaining; however, there is a point where rwe need to stop. Yes, developers fail to meet our expectation quite often, but the answer is not trolling and affecting newer / other Warriors. Let’s work together to improve the Warrior community.
Stop complaining. Before you take this as a troll thread, pull down your pants, and go crazy… hear me out.
This thread is primarily to educate the general warrior public and an attempt to start anew the warrior community as a whole. (Well… improve)
Also, please read this post in its entirety as it should be. If you take a single part and comment against that… well… you’re kind of missing the point. I’m not here to argue against you guys. I’m not a professional player. However, I am someone that does enjoy the game and hope that we can improve the warrior community as a whole and, as a result, improve our game play.
1. Warriors do suck in sPvP. We all know this.
The first thing I would like to say is that simply improving the warrior’s condition removal is not the answer. Someone put up a troll thread talking about warriors having too much % damage. While the thread is utterly useless, it is true that warriors have a great amount of % damage.
I think it’s safe to say that warriors also have, arguably, the strongest bursts and/or damage potential. Now… what does that mean?
It means that if you simply improve the warrior’s condition removal, the warrior will actually become the monstrosity that developers are afraid of. While the problem may seem very easy to handle on the surface, it is actually a much more complex and difficult to handle. What’s the answer? Boon hate? Reduce damage and increase condition removal? Who knows… But it is the job of the developers.
Yes, we can make suggestions… but, at the end of the day, the majority of us… well… almost all of us are neither qualified nor capable of doing so without messing up another aspect of the game. Are the developers any better? Only time will tell, but please refrain from making harsh criticism based on less than a year of game play and incite other warriors to do the same.
2. Life and alternatives.
I’m not saying this as a “get a life” insult; rather, I am saying that there are plenty other options to explore not only in the gaming world but in the “real world” as some people refer to it… although that never made sense to me.
If you are truly disgruntled with the situation that the Warrior is in… leave!
Don’t take it the wrong way. I’m saying to take a break. An extended sabbatical if necessary. When Guild Wars 1 came out… there was so much less content in the game. A lot of people on forums about how the game sucked and etc. etc. etc… but look what an amazing game GW1 turned out to be.
Fact is that GW2 has yet to reach a year of age… and in comparison to other games during their first year, GW2 is doing a great job.
As much as you hate the developers, give them that much credit. Be thankful for what we have and look forward to what comes, but don’t place expectations.
To avoid a superficial and elitst form of thinking, I’ll not start from the premise of pointing what is art and what isn’t. I think that a creation or expression based on an intention to send to others something, even if unconscious, is a form of art.
In a brief and oversimplified definition, art is the use of specific abilities to express your ideas and/or feelings. And though videogames are legally protected by the US Supreme Court as creative work, it still remains on a philosophical boundary between the art and an entertaiment tool.
Roger Ebert, a renowned film critic, stated that, even if in a controversy way, videogames could never aspire to be art, such as great part of the cinema. “One obvious difference between art and games is that you can win a game. […] Cite a immersive game without points or rules, but I would say then it ceases to be a game and becomes a representation of a story, a novel, a play, dance, a film. Those are things you cannot win; you can only experience them.”
One of the Halo’s franchise games was characterizade by the motto of “Engineering The Fun” and was attended by experts to research and develop specific moments of happiness, frustration and fear. And we saw it being applied later on the Call of Duty games who were there introducing moments and areas to maximize the fun, regardless of any artistic intention. What makes me think that all tripple A games are not art.
In other hands we have the recently released Bio Shock: Infinit, and despite the “Win” objective that acording to Elbert would break all the artistic purpose, it introduces us a rare seen well constructed plot and a even rare dedication to the construction of dialogues, all involved in a scenario that could be present in an art gallery of NY. So as Journey in the beauty of loneliness and Limbo in the beauty of death.
Maybe this obduracy and reluctance of seen games as art comes with the age of itself. For some reason, you can’t interpret new cultural manifestations. Jazz and Samba also faced a hard approval and supposedly were directed to mediocre and small groups and there they would stay. Even though videogames reached a much bigger audience than these two, I still hear people murmuring arguments such as “What do you expect? A Super Mario statue next to Mona Lisa?”.
For last, I want to drop here a link to a video of a very talented man playing Ghosts ’n Goblins song without know it is from a videogame, with a remarkable execution, which could have passed as a classic from the western times. An assertion that not always the art is contained as a whole, but as an individual part of the set.
Now I want to ask you, what do you think? Videogames are art? And more, Guild Wars 2 is art or just entertainment?
Also, a thanks to Carlos Merigo, Saulo Mileti, Guga Mafra, Alexandre Maron and Pedro Burgos, which indirectly brought me to write this topic to our community.
You failed the moment you attempted to define art for the mass.
Art’s definition is subjective.
For some, games are art. For others, games are simply entertainment/service.
It all depends on your perspective.
Axe/Shield + Long Bow always for PvE. (Keeping War horn and Rifle as well)
Axe/Shield or Hammer + GS for PvP
Anything without a GS or Sword/Warhorn in the weapon set isn’t viable in sPvP because of the lack of mobility. Shield as an offhand is almost always absolutely necessary because it’s one of a warrior’s only defensive CDs.
So Axe/Mace is not viable for sPvP. It does comparable sustained damage to 100B builds, but lacks mobility, meaningful burst and defensive capability. The only benefit is a 2 second knockdown.
Here’s some current viable weapon sets:
Greatsword + Sword/Shield
Greatsword + Longbow
Greatsword + Axe/Shield
Hammer + Sword/Warhorn (debatable)Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll probably go Greatsword + Something. I still don’t understand why people like to go X/Shield, though. Is the 3 second block really that strong?
Greatsword / Hammer is viable if played well and planned out with your team in advance.. otherwise… I always stick with GS + Axe/Shield
3s of block every 30s (24 with trait) is incredible + shield bash sets you up for a perfect eviscerate. 2 dodges + whirlwind + rush + shield block adds some much needed survivability to the warrior.
‘ve done world completion to 100% several times now. It gives alot of exp but it doesn’t give you enough to get to 80 from what I’ve seen.
If you were diligent and just did exploration and that’s it, this really shouldn’t be particularly difficult.
Some of the cursed shore skill points you might end up asking for help for in map chat, but that’s not a big deal.
Doubt it.
With the amount of EXP you gain from POI, skill points, hearts, etc. being proportionate to your level… it’s impossible even if you skipped all events and mobs.
Also, it’s hard to skip all events as sometimes just walking in an event zone by mistake will give you the event.
Well it doesn’t look….. “bad,” but without knowing what weapons, utilities, and kind of gear he’s using no one can really help you all that much.
That’s probably why no ones replied lol
Thank you! I just figured it was crap and the warriors were being kind and not flaming me to death.

Hello and yes this is another thread moaning about the warrior mechanics for wvw/pvp, recently i have been through so many different builds and armours for my warrior and i still just feel so weak in any player vs player scenario.
I levelled up my character in confidence as i felt like i somewhat fit in to pve and that dungeon runs would need me as a profession.
This was the exact opposite case when i started venturing into wvw, when im in there it seems like no matter what i do the profession feels somewhat broken, being able to be outdone by every profession, just a easy target for classes such as guardians that can do just as much output but still stand strong, i shouldn’t have to make alt characters just for pvp? but right now i feel as though no fairness is being shown for the warrior, what use is berserker armour? i just feel like a thief without stealth. I had a friend ask me the other day why i still play this profession and the honest answer is that i really dont know maybe because of the fact that i actually want the class to be good, to be able to stand strong not only in pve but in pvp.
Yes i know you can find complaints on every other class but you can only physically tell that there needs to be a change to this class when you take it out into world vs world.
Try a Hammer/GS warrior. GS primarily for mobility (ridiculously good) and for a HB if anyone is stupid enough to eat it to the face or doesn’t bring enough condition removals. Hammer + 3 physical traits for non-stop stuns/immobilize.
Well timed, you can easily take someone out 1v1 (with some patience depending on class of enemy) and are a major asset in small raiding parties. Throw in a LB for keep defense.
GS/Axe-Shield is a great build as well from my experience. Great mobility and you get Eviscerate which can be used right after shield #4. Shield #5 saves many lives in both PvE and PvP
leggs arah bro…..
Answered a while ago bro….
you guys are starting to miss the point and go off topic, it is not about if the skill is good or not, it’s about the fact a warrior needs to use his traits to improve weapon proficiency while other professions get those benefits simply tacked on and are free to choose any traits they like.
They’re not really going off topic. You called a trait useless so they have every right to defend it. I think it’s actually one of the best traits for a hammer warrior.
As for the Rifle trait… what? Are you joking?
Think of it like a 20% CD trait with the pierce as an awesome bonus.
Warrior ranged damage is equal or greater than the Ranger’s ranged DPS.
Also, what other traits would you get instead of Crack Shot then?
probably a mixture of golds, they tend to be slightly different colours on different sets, so you have to mix and match gold shades
Yea, I’ve been looking through so many dyes T_T hahaha
Can anyone identify what shade of gold/yellow this is?
I can’t seem to find it T_TThat looks like primarily Antique Bronze with Blood/Spitfire dyes actually. Not 100% guarantee as I am eye-balling but I have done a similar color-scheme with my Asura
EXCELLENT SUGGESTION!
Wow, so stupid of me. The fact that this may be a bronze shade completely escape me…
I’ll look into those dyes ASAP. thanks again!
Axe/Shield + Longbow all the way for all PvE content

Usually for FoTM though.
Can anyone identify what shade of gold/yellow this is?
I can’t seem to find it T_T
Who cares about builds?
Any decent axe-ish axe skin? I can’t find any.
Nope. I was planning on getting a good axe skin first, but I could not find any that were satisfying…
Fortunately, the Legendary Shield, Flameseeker Prophecy, is an amazing skin
I’m hoping sword gets buffed so that I could grab a bolt or just a plain flaming short sword (the one that is about 110g) and finish off my Spartan/Roman Commander look.
If not…. I’m really hoping they bring in some more skins.
I don’t understand why they don’t invest more in the gem shop. There are a ton of players willing to pay for skins. It would become an enormous source of profit and an enormous gold sink for those converting gold into gems.
Another quick question. Where do you get the exotic Berserker’s back item at? It’s all I need then I have everything I need for when I hit 80 in a couple levels
You can craft one VIA mystic forge or fractals
It’s not a major focus though. It should be the last item you infuse as it is ridiculously expensive to do so.
Constant weapon-swapping with one Sigil of Energy and using Burst-skills to restore Endurance are good ways to keep up dodging!
This is actually pretty solid advice.
Also, what does your skill set look like?
Personally, I use:
6: Healing Surge
7: For Great Justice
8: Endure Pain/Shake It Off
9: Signet of Stamina (extra dodges is amazing)
0: Signet of Fury
1. Learn the fights. This is probably the most important. The more you do fights, the better you will become at them.
2. Dodging. How is your dodging? Are you wasting dodges? I see a lot of warriors using two dodges at once because they panic… and a lot of warriors that dodge for no purpose at all. Conserve your dodges as best as possible.
3. If you want, try Axe/Shield hehehe
I love Shield #5 as it is basically a free dodge that doesn’t require as much timing since it lasts quite a bit. I personally don’t use it as a dodge though; rather, I use it as a means to invulnerability tank after aggroing a huge mob so my team can DPS freely for a bit.
4. Have you tried Warhorn? If you don’t need a ranged secondary, using Warhorn #5 refills your bar quickly. With Signet of Stamina, you’re dodging much more often.
5. When are you healing? Are you making sure you have full adrenaline before healing? Are you healing when you have agony on you? Etc. Etc…
The 60 second cooldown was to deter us from using the skill and consider others. Funny enough people still use it, what does that say about our other skill options?
THAT my friends is exactly the current state of Warrior. It truly is that bad.
It’s 90s 0_0… I WISH it was 60 seconds hahaha
But yea, totally understand what you mean.
It’s rather sad -.-..
Pure ranged?
For WvWvW the run and gun build is nice, but if you run ikittenerg and have good positioning, then a pure berserker crit build with Rifle (for sniping) and Longbow (for AoE and defending points) is actually very, very useful!
You’ll never be on of those ridiculously OP classes that can stomp multiple people at once, but you will do pretty good.
For PvE, pure ranged is viable as well if you are intent on going for it.
Get full Berserker armor and trinkets with Ruby Orbs / Exquisite Ruby.
Switch between Rifle and Longbow. I would highly recommend that you use bursts for Longbow over Rifle as it is simply better for PvE.
I personally carry a Full set of Berserker AND Knight Armor (Draconic).
Sometimes I mix and match, but for high level fractals, I prefer to go full Knight (except the gloves for the skin at the moment, that is Berserker).
Trinkets all Berserker without a doubt. No need to really think about.
I would also advise switching away from Sonic Boon type builds as you go higher.
As a Warrior, your primary role is to DPS. If your team DPS is not fast enough and you can not kill mobs/bosses in a moderate amount of time, no amount of skill will keep you alive. The might aspect is awesome, but shout heals are useless.
This is my Axe/Shield build that I utilize for Fractals, why not give it a try?
Maintains 5.7k effective power while reaching pretty ridiculous levels of damage mitigation (35~40%). Endure Pain + Shield #5 gives you a lot of invulnerability tanking which is 10000x more useful to the team than small shout heals.
If you decide to use this build and want more attack, you should switch the armor to full Berserk. Puts you at around 6.2k effective power and still maintains around 28~33% damage reduction. I personally prefer Axe though so if you are a die-hard GS fan for the big numbers, then switch as necessary.
see topic i want to know how they are in dungeons any advice on builds?
How are they in dungeons now?
Pretty much exactly the same.
Warriors are still beast in PvE (second to Guardian in my honest opinion).
What dungeon?
It actually differs depending on what weapon you want to run and what dungeon.
The tool tip showed 5 seconds, but it was always 3.
It now shows 4 and lasts 4.
It’s a stealth buff
Although come on… 60s CD please.
The CD is ridiculous.
(edited by CookMETEnder.7582)
Why not put the infusion in a ring?
We get millions of rings from Fractals anyways…
have dozens of extras laying around begging to be infused with something
Hey! Not bad, I got pretty close lol. I just went a little heavier on the defense then you had. I like it though! Good hp, damage reduction.. heck of a lot higher crit damage and rate then I expected we could get and still be tanky. The bow was a good idea too, I really like bows over rifles. In all I like it! What do you suggest doing for the Ascended trinkets though? I never bothered to run fractals yet, just Arah really (on my necro) so I dunno if you can get the stuff there or just from laurels. Cause thems be alotta laurels.
But yeah, the signet build is one of the things I did right. I’m 69 and still rocking it with my axe and shield no problem. I’m with you though, I have seen everywhere people downgrading shield calling it useless, when in reality it just takes a little more brainpower to use other then Charge – Frenzy – Endure Pain – Hundred Blades, rinse and repeat.
I suggest getting Full Berserker trinkets.
Amulet = Laurel Vendor
Rings = Fractals. (Either 10 Pristine Fractal relics or have it drop) Just wait for it as eventually you end up having every single ring.
Earrings = Guild Bounty (I’m working on them right now)
Yea, a lot of people bash on the shield, but it is my favorite off-hand.
Axe mainhand is more than enough to compare with GS DPS and the Shield off-hand just provides so much That and Shield skins are my favorite haha
Just find a good group/guild to run Fractals with
If you need one, message me in-game!
Is there any way I can acquire a Vigil helmet for my warrior?
Not 100% sure if this works with higher level items but it works with the starter items. I have done this with Necromancer glowing eyes and gave them to my Elementalist and Mesmer.
1) You can level a new character and join the vigil then buy the helm with them. 2)Transmute the helm onto a “Standard White Helm”, nothing fancy. You can just buy a helm off of a vendor, doesn’t matter the level. Just be sure to keep the vigil skin and take the new helm stats.
3) Then take your new “Vigil White Helm” and put it in the bank.
4) Switch characters to the one you want the Vigil helm on.
5) Transmute the “Vigil White Helm” back with your current helm (be sure to keep the Vigil skin and take you other helms stats).Like I said, might not work with higher end items but it does work with the starter items. I will try right quick in game and see if it works (not with a vigil helm mind you, just a soul bound helm to see if it becomes account bound).
Wow thank you so much for your help!
I have to sleep now meh… T_T.. but I will definitely try what you recommended tomorrow afternoon.
Once again, thank you so much for your help!
If I can ever repay you in any way, please ask
Thank you and good night!
Wait, isn’t the character human? Is he a Norn? Can’t tell honestly haha..
Also, how would he be using both Char and Norn cultural?
Sorry, but I’m a complete noob to transmutations and skins hahaOnly cultural armor is limited to races. Cultural weapons can be used by any race.
Thanks for the info!
Helmet: Vigil
Shoulders/Chestplate: Dark
Arms: Human T2 Cultural
Legs: Arah
Boots: Nobleman’s (CM)Sword: Legionnaire
Shield: LionguardTo the best of my knowledge. I’m fairly sure this is accurate. I spend a lot of time trying on armor.
Wow, thanks a lot for this list!
Everything seems accurate, thank you!
Does anyone know the armor that is seen in the attached screenshot?
Thanks everyone!Head: Vigil- Around 5g
Shoulders: Dark Armor- around 1k karma in Fireheart Rise
Chest: Dark Armor- around 1k karma in Fireheart Rise (Kodan at the top left of the zone)

Thanks so much for your information as well! It really helped to have everything linked!
Meh, so now I have a new dilemma….
I’m in the Order of Whispers….
Is there any way I can acquire a Vigil helmet for my warrior?
Head is Vigil Heavy Armor.
Shoulders and chest are karma gear, mostly 60+.
Legs are Norn heavy tier 3 cultural armor.
Shield is from Lionguard, you can buy it with karma if I’m not mistaken near the dungeon vendors.
Sword looks like char cultural weapon.
I can’t recognize hands and feet.
Wait, isn’t the character human? Is he a Norn? Can’t tell honestly haha..
Also, how would he be using both Char and Norn cultural?
Sorry, but I’m a complete noob to transmutations and skins haha
Looks like the feet are Nobleman’s Legguards (dungeon armor from Caudecus’s Manor).
Hands are, hrm…
Thanks, I’ll check it out~!
they really screwed up primevil armor from gw1, it looks freakishly ugly when compared, I feel sorry for those that paid for it
I honestly did not like Primeval armor from Guild Wars 1. It’s all preference.
That being said though, this Primeval armor doesn’t look that great either which is why I’m trying to change. I bought the set as it was only 500 and I got quite a large amount of diamonds for free for helping my old guild
Do you know any of the armor in the first screenshot though?
I really like that style.
Cook,
Do you use Berserker axe and shield?
ruby orbs in your armor?
what sigils?
food?
sorry I don’t do much pve so dont really know the norm.
1. Berserker stat Axe and Shield.
2. Ruby orb in all my armor. Divinity is nice, but I don’t think they are worth it. Some combination of runes to get longer boon duration or certain effects are nice if you decide to go that way. I just stick with Ruby
3. Force on Axe / Accuracy on Shield
Bow depends on your situation. I’ll sometimes use one with condition removal when fighting imbued, but it doesn’t matter too much. It’s nice to have a secondary weapon with Superior Bloodlust, but for a newer player it is an investment that does not pay off well. Choose what you want for your secondary set.
4. Is my team pro and rolling through the area? Omnomberry Bar (for the 40% gold)
Challenging content? Omnomberry Pie + Master Maintenance Oil
Only use these when really challenged. May not seem like much, but the costs do add up.
No problem! I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have~
Btw, this is how I currently look…
Think this current set-up is better for a Legendary Shield?
Thanks again guys!
EDIT:

Hey Warriors, this was posted up by Red Falcon, but I have not been able to get in contact with him.
Does anyone know the armor that is seen in the attached screenshot?
I definitely want to use some of those pieces as I think about changing my armor skin.
Also, do you think the armor set, as a whole, would look good with a Legendary FlameSeeker Prophecy Shield?
Thanks everyone!
First off, you should know that you want a 5 signet build until around level 65.
5 Signets + the 40precision per signet trait in Arms Trait will make everything easy.
Builds are really only for once you hit level 80.
That being said, take off Dolyak Signet. Utterly useless.
Instead, get Signet of Stamina (faster endurance recharge) and practice dodging. Dodging will be your primary source of mitigating damage in late-game.
For Great Justice? Solid choice. Keep it always.
Shake it off is nice, but when you don’t NEED condition removal, I would switch it with Endure Pain (specifically higher fractals).
I strongly recommend you to not go dual melee off the bat.

This is a build I run for high level Fractals.
I’m going to eventually swap out my knight for berserker set… well.. maybe
I keep the points in defense simply because I find 20% faster recharge on shield #5 let’s me invulnerability tank much more often. It’s truly under-rated in my opinion.
Good luck! Feel free to ask any questions.
P.S.
Always go full Berserker Trinkets. Trust me on this one
Go full Ruby until you you get used to it, then adjust as you see fit.
Ruby is dirt cheap but HIGHLY effective.
Until 80, save all your money and only equip what you find / get from quests.
^What CoaxialMazer said with his last paragraph is right on target.
Hammer Burst is insanely strong not only because of the raw damage but also because of its serious CC output.
The only time I use hammer is for WvWvW. I will usually use the hammer for a well-timed burst / non-stop knockdowns on top of my physical utilities.
I’ll utilize a GS for movement and positioning/chasing purposes
Hahahahaha, I have a good laugh whenever I see it
Its pretty worthless when facing a condition class. Or multiple.
It’s use is not really against condition classes though.
It’s to survive the first few seconds of a huge clash or, if dealing with a group with multiple enemies, it can even be used to mitigate the auto attacks which actually add up quickly if you dive in first.Adding condition resistance into Endure Pain would make it so OP
Not that I would mind…Im pretty sure some of the other classes invulnerability skills block condition damage.
Sorry, I’m not that well versed in other classes.
So, there is a skill that lets you attack normally while blocking both direct damage and condition damage? The only classes I have ever played are Mesmer and Warrior
Did a bit of Guardian in the mists and thoroughly enjoyed that… but I’m too heavily invested in my Warrior to change now lol

I personally think the only thing endure pain is some reduced cooldown. 60 seconds or perhaps a trait that makes it 20% less to all stances. Otherwise, its not a bad stance at all.
Exactly!
I think 60s would be a perfect CD for Endure Pain.
90s is simply way too long.
I hope that Stances are looked in to.
I think Balanced Stance is pretty nice, but Endure Pain is in sore need of some loving.
90 seconds is quite a long cool down. Maybe remove the 20% stance Trait and make some stances charge faster in general.
Also, I hope shield gets some love to
Finally… I would love to see Sword get some attention as well. Find a good balance between condition and damage. Flameseeker Prophecy is a perfect shield for me but Axe sorely lacks a good skin… if swords got buffed, I would gladly go for Bolt~
I suggest you stop posting in the Warrior Forum and post in the Suggestion Forum.
While there aren’t as many viewers, the few people that do view that area daily are actually highly qualified to answer/discuss your suggestions.
Many of them have played multiple classes and can offer criticism based on the perspectives of different classes.
Also, if you are going to continue to post in the Warrior forums…
Please group up / update a single thread.
Name it “Warrior Change Suggestions” or something and make note that you will be constantly updating and adding in stuff. You can bump that up instead.
Sorry for the late reply, I was on a 2 week suspension because I was too mean to someone -.-…
Check out my build. It’s my Axe/Shield that I use for Fractals. I originally picked up shield because I fell in love with the Legendary Shield skin, then I just started loving shield-play.
Axe/Shield play offers the best of DPS and Defense at the same time making it a solid choice for anywhere. Axe mainhand has the highest sustained DPS and the shield off-hand not only saves your butt, but it lets you invulnerability tank which is far more valuable than a shouts/banner heal/regen.
With Endure Pain and Shield #5 (20% faster CD as well) you can tank mobs with relatively good uptime on invulnerability. The amount of damage you soak in for your team far outstrips any healing that a Warrior can provide otherwise.
Skills
6. Healing Surge – No reason to get any other type of heal for any reason with this build.
7. For Great Justice – Never leaves my bar. Free and easy increase to team/personal DPS.
8. Endure Pain – Stays on my bar the majority of the time. Can be switched out for “Shake it Off!” if you are having trouble at Imbued Shaman.
9. Signet of Stamina – Extra dodges = stay in melee/alive longer = more DPS = satisfied team and player. Emergency 2 conditional removal if necessary.
0. Signet of Rage because it’s boss. War Banner is nice, but I simply prefer SoR.
Armor
Full Knight Armor. I have a full set of Berserker, but after doing a ton of Fractals, I find that Knight is just a more favorable set to run with. There are times when you simply can not dodge attacks (Colossus between fire AoE and such). The extra toughness doesn’t cost you that much DPS, but allows this build to hit 35~40% damage reduction. It does not make you a tank, but it makes you beefy enough to take a few hits and make a few mistakes.
Berserker gloves because I like the use CoF gloves with the Primeval cash set
Traits
Strength – 10 for Berserker’s Power. One of the best Warrior traits.
Arms – 25 for.. well.. damage The extra damage to bleeding targets is a necessity. Furious Reaction allows near permanent maintenance of Fury solo, and Rending Strikes just helps the whole team destroy the target.
Defense – 20 for the defense and shield mastery. 20% CD reduction makes your shield smile. More invulnerability tanking which really adds up by the end. It’s not something you notice much, but it’s something that helps the team, and you, tremendously.
Also, note that Shield #5 activates very quickly. While some warrior skills have long swing motions, etc… the shield block is near instant so it’s a free block/tank/life-saver/whatever. Turtle’s Defense can be replaced with longer stances, but until stances get a buff, I don’t want it
Discipline – 15 because Heightened Focus, like Berserker’s Power, is an absolutely sexy skill. Also, Fast Hands is an addiction. Once you trait it, you can never untrait it. It feels like you lose a piece of your soul
General Play
Don’t be stupid, and listen to those who know better. Pretty much it.
Longbow F1 followed by Longbow #3 will give Area Might which is incredibly helpful. It’s like a mini-FGJ. I do that to open up on mobs, then I’ll roll in offensively to dodge the first spike while swapping to Axe/Shield. #2 then auto-attack until you need to either roll again or #5 to invulnerability tank some damage while your team dishes out DPS. Adjust as necessary.
Sometimes, depending on how I feel, I’ll switch to Rifle for Imbued, Ice Elemental/Dredge Mining. Make sure to switch in Crack Shot Trait if you do; otherwise, it’s a waste compared to Longbow.
Hope this helps!
Full Berserker, in my opinion, is so reliant on the group.
Even if you are super pro, a bad pull by your team mates = wipe..
Unless you run and want to have the noobies bad mouth you for running xD
I personally go Full Knight w/ Ruby (except gloves for skin hehe) and Full Berserker Trinkets. I find that it’s perfect for any situation.
Armor = Berserker or Knight. No need for any other UNLESS you are going Vs. Player.
When you hit higher fractals, you can still go full Berserker and trait some into defense.
I personally just like to have Full Knight Armor w/ ruby Full Berserker ascended trinkets.
Sword is best for condition, yet it still falls short of any direct damage build.
You just kitten yourself further with hammer or mace.
Here is a sample.
Assign the last 20 traits wherever you want and use whatever food you like.
I utilize GS #3 and #5 to catch fleeing enemies. Hydromancy sigil on switch to Hammer (after catching them with GS). Constant movement speed is vital when in a small raiding party; otherwise, change to 100% rally (or do so RIGHT Before battle).
Smash away.
hey all, im lvling a warrior and so i been theory crafting builds that seem to intrigue me, the most recent/my favorite so far is this, and id like your opinions/sugestions,
if the link dosent show up plz tell me and how to fix it? im not great with forums,
ty for your time and help
I would recommend playing WvWvW first and seeing what you think you want/need most.
The build is nice, but what is the point of it?
It has some good survivability, but doesn’t really do much.
I would also throw away FGJ. Awesome skill for PvE, but I think physical utilities trump it for any Vs. Player situation.
I personally use a hammer/GS build.
Stomp, Bull’s Charge, and Bolas for utilities and Mending for heal skill. SoR Elite.
The sheer amount of immobilize + stuns makes this an amazing build.
Timed right, it is a potent 1v1 build… but it shines in chasing + 2~5 people raiding parties.
Hmm…. I’m still not using a Shout or Banner and I’m doing fine in upper FoTM….
Sorry for posting my own build for FoTM 30+
Anyways, this build calculator is, in my opinion, one of the best out there… and now they have updated to include Fury and Might…
I was just wondering if any of your builds change because of that?
A lot of people have been posting up funky math about how Might and Fury affect their builds… I guess we can finally have some slightly more solid proof~
Also, keep in mind that 8~12 stacks of Might can be maintained by any warrior regardless of which melee weapon they choose… so don’t go into comparisons of 0vs25 stacks of might which I have been seeing all too often.
Enjoy the build calculator guys!
Post up what builds you use for FoTM 30+ and anything in general!
Watch as I get infracted for this. These infractions are getting out of hand…
Glass is viable ANYWHERE up til 30ish fotm, which is where I keep the glass gear and switch to a different spec.
THIS, please look at what this guy said.
Glass Cannon warrior is viable everywhere until 30 FoTM IF you meet the following requirements.
1. You must know the dungeon/content.
2. You must know how to time dodges and know the bosses attack patterns.
Beyond 30 FoTM, it changes.
A lot of people will still go full glass cannon, and you can, but I believe that is counter-productive. With some well timed dodges and such, you can survive, but I feel that you are spending more time dodging, rolling around, etc. instead of attacking.
After 30 FoTM, this build seems to do very well.

You maintain 5.7k effective power and hit a whopping 35~40% damage reduction. I say 35~40 since the build automatically includes 200 from Turtle’s Defense.
*Note that I did not fill in Fury and Might for this build.
Also, an important thing to note (when deciding between GS and Axe) is that a lot of GS users will argue 25 might stacks. This is incorrect. It’s not a 25 difference of might stacks between GS and Axe; rather, it is usually about 10.
With LB, FoJ, and SoR… you can maintain about 12 stacks of might by yourself.
I would say GS sits around 18 stacks of might (sure you can hit 25, but unless you are investing into Might like Sonic Boon Build, you’re not going to maintain 22~25 on a boss you need to consistently dodge… especially 30+ foTM)
I take my naming very seriously.
Lol, I don’t care what their name is…
As long as they are nice people and competent.
Now… I am a little biased against people that have names like:
1. LordzDragon777
2. Leet1337UberPro
3. aslijcawloihaliuhv
