We need to reduce damage if you plan on this. Also tankier classes or those which have abilities to disengage or weapon skills with evades have more advantage. I’m not normally out to defend necros but poor them.

I’d be happy to no longer use team queue solo if I could actually find a team. Unless you already have friends who PvP or are in the top part of the leaderboard, nobody has any interest in you for a team. That’s why so many individuals are in the team queue.

I would suggest going to Distubin’s [Angz] 1v1 server or Swim’s 2v2 server if you have few contacts in PvP its a nice wee community and you can watch games and chat and try to get to know people that way. However I WILL shout at you if you play Prismatic :P

To protect your teamq rank would be a rational reason I guess, also if you want a random quick join with decent rewards but don’t want to get steamrolled by a premade team then soloq is a better choice.

This is what you should expect playing a team PvP game solo. If you want a better experience get 4 people you know and play teamq. Seriously random teams are random and you will just need to accept that often you’ll be put on the worse team. I’ll log on and do 3 matches in soloq and the outcome is irrelevant to me (i’ll still try hard in the game because its polite for the other players).

You just need to come to the realisation that random queue will give you random results and if you want to play where you have more control over that result you need a team. You’ll enjoy yourself more and have fun with friends too. Trust me I know it sounds a bit scary but try teamq with a team – you’ll have a better game experience.

I did not receive +1000 Tournment win chests.

I was really surprised to hear this was still an issue for people this far into the game (there is a thread from a different person in sPvP forums too), I’d hope making this right is a top priority for ANet. 9 months of no bonus for winning is absurd losses, best of luck getting this seen to.

The thing is GW1 let us play together, the lag was very annoying when playing Mesmer. I would say that GW2 is less ping dependent than GW1 was though.

In general the higher the skill level of the enemy the less it matters. It used to be a big deal, but by now most experienced players have gotten used to asura. I played asura, norn and charr with the same specs and i haven’t noticed being targeted less.

In teamfights it’s mostly about calling targets and aoe. If you get focused it won’t matter much if you are asura or charr.

You’ve mistaken the benefit of playing Asura. Its not chosen because you are hard to target, its chosen because they cant see your attacks – not a defensive model choice but offensive.

The advantage is real, even if you are running with an asura and stop it flails around a bit looking like a cast animation. The size helps obscure actual animations. Playing an asuran is like drinking a potion that increases your ability to land attacks. Its not limited to pet classes, in a team fight and anywhere with large particle effects you will notice an ease of playing and hitting when you use an asura.

It may have changed but as far as I remembered Lupi could only be significantly damaged from Feedback if you were all meleeing him anyway. We found the best way to do it was for our guard to watch for his punch animation and me to watch for the self hug.

Staff should really only be used if you’re running around with Kasmeer’s and it looks awesome!!!1one For actual fighting in PvE its meh (you can maybe make an arguement for grouped trash mobs and rupting them but if you’re with a decent group trash mobs tend to die from focus pull and aoe anyway)

Don’t delete your Staves though – WvW and open world stuff is enhanced by teleporting forward.

Yeah, not against warrior’s in PvP they aren’t.

I mean, if the thief was running full GC, probably had a bunch of might stacks (think 15+), full bloodlust, probably fury, fulfilled both his conditional 25 point minor damage traits, was running executioner, the warrior was running full glass with no additional toughness and vitality, didn’t dodge, didn’t block, didn’t use Endure Pain, didn’t use Fear me, and wasn’t running defy pain then maybe…..

Well either the original poster is mistaken or has not reported correctly. Regardless the game requires you to be able to deal with avoiding fast burst and thats all I’m saying.

This sounds like a VERY long way off plan though, which may even not come to pass (ranks being removed was also mentioned and thats been veto’d). I think you’ll be able to regain your resources by the time the change happens if you need to at all.

There is a definite link BUT while once they may have been taken for that sole purpose I’m sure people have since noticed that a burried Stability boon is value in itself. The runes are very strong and need a rework and this suggestion keeps them valid as a condi removal anyway.

Of all the things that need a rework in GW2 Lyssa runes are just about at the dead bottom of the list. I have used Lyssa on Mes for almost a year (well before they ever became popular or any of the Nec buffs dropped) and the upside is that being struck with seven to eight conditions is no longer a death sentence. However you can still be interrupted while channeling your elite (BV has a one-second cast time, Mass Invis is almost two seconds long and highly coordinated).

The unspoken elephant in the room is that people want these dropped because of Thieves and Warriors. Other posters have already explained well the fact that you do sacrifice opportunities to take these runes: you will not hit or burst as hard. Moreover it is phenomenally difficult for a Thief to deal with getting condi bursted as Thief has little in the way of burst cleansing without putting themselves in a seriously dangerous situation. Someone else astutely noted that as far as Warriors are concerned they would just slot the next best (and much more passive) option and very little would change.

In essence I feel that with the game being the way it is right now, far more damage would be done by hurting these runes than any supposed upsides. Substantially tone down the sheer amount of condition application (regardless of its potency) and then you can come back to these runes.

I never said Lyssa runes are at the top of the list for changes, but they are on the list (as you yourself have just said). We’re in agreement.

Yes to the warriors and thieves benefiting a lot from burried Stab, the change stated above keeps the rune set strong vs condis but reduces the easy access and difficult to strip Stab. I’m not sure why you’re arguing against the proposed change tbh.

PU Mesmer or Phantasm Mesmer?

You won’t improve as a player using either of those specs, they revolve around fire and forget spells while playing defensively. Try Shatter and you’ll learn more about the mesmer class and be forced to deal with each class you face differently (forcing you to learn about their builds too).

The people saying Lyssa isn’t OP its just the other runes are UP need to know those things mean the same, I know the are trying to say other runes need to be increased in power not Lyssa decreased. However that would add to power creep which this game doesn’t need more of imo.

what are you talking about? my warrior still gets destroyed by heavy burst damage (if i can’t dodge them) and massive conditions overload (if i can’t remove them) easily.

Perhaps, you should use some skills sometimes.

If you put this in that way, then yes, if you’re standing still doing nothing Healing Signet does not makes you win the encounter. We all base our statements on the assumption that even a complete noob use some skills sometimes, probably you aren’t on that level yet.

I’m pretty sure this Deimos Tel Arin creature is a troll, should just avoid it.

move adrenal health to an upper tier trait.

You missed the point, adrenal health actually sucks on its own since its like 300 hp(at max adrenaline lvl) per 3sec not 1sec, but when they tick at the same time as HS wich would be like close to 700hp people just go berzerker “omg so muchhh heallll nerf nerfff HS” since they don’t realize sometimes they heal in pair(if you have full adrenaline wich is not 24/7)

If you were fiddling with Mesmer GS (a weapon which i think needs work) I would also reduce the strength of Mirror Blade and increase the usefulness of Mind Stab (i’d love a blast finisher or increase in damage or more boon removals – something along those lines)

I take issue with your thoughts on Boon/Condi removal though, I think there needs to be a removal importance list not first on last off. Large bleed stacks need to be targetted not buried – I wouldn’t normally want to go against the play increase of cover condis BUT condis do soooo much damage in this game you cannot allow them to tick for even a few seconds never mind being burried. As for Boons, Lyssa and Stability already upset me as i can shatter 3-4 boons off and still not hit stab I’d like a personal removal priority if possible.

Interupting heals should be encouraged, however I have noticed most heals used are either very fast, never “used” or uninteruptable (and i mean uninteruptable in the sense that you see the heal then push interupt, also discounting armour proc nightmare).

Mesmer, Necro and Ele (if they are using the channel) seem to be the only classes you can actively aim interupts at their heal.

Before anyone goes on about GW1 I actually played GvG then as mesmer and you cannot draw the same distinctions in cast times. In GW1 you couldn’t cast while moving so there was a VERY clear indication when they were casting. Also no one interupted a .25sec cast from reaction it was purely from quarter knocks or counting off an aftercast or diversion ticking off, hitting anything below .75secs (mesmer fast cast or 40/40 sets) came from positioning and chars stopping to cast again.

I’m a fan of interupts and think they should have a more active role in the game (I mean targetted interupts for the sake of stopping the skill NOT i want you stunned oh look i hit a skill too how pro). With this though need more work done on cast animations, work done on Asura (seriously playing one is like having taken a magic potion and suddenly you hit 50% more of your stuff) and work done on risk/reward for using interupts (maybe increase base recharges and reduce them if you hit something) but also less LOL effects from just interupting an auto or w/e Halting Strike and Confusing Suggestions and casting Chaos Storm is just silly. Also reduce the activation time of as many interupts as possible i think it would be nice to be able to use them to interupt not just “hope they cast something about now” cause a lot of them have travel time – and i mean the dazes mainly here.

Interupts I hope will have a bigger place in GW2’s future, but not the Earthshaker/Chaos Storm variety.

If you want to prove this opinion wrong show me how those two builds are interactive with an opponent, promote quick reaction and require complex thought to execute.

I play a PU/phantasm hybrid build and in combat I’m constantly moving, dodging, summoning, activiating utilities, swapping weapons.. just like anyone else. I do it right and I can kill 1 opponent or tie up 2 opponents for a long time. Do it wrong, and I’m toast.. just like anyone else.

I have no idea what you are even talking about. Sounds like you’re just repeating myths you read from others who are also repeating them.

You’ve just summed up exactly why PU/Phant is cheaper than Shatter. You listed things you’re doing in combat, because PU/Phant allows you to just focus on yourself. You’re not forcing dodges, interupting, waiting burst for after defensive CDs, exposing yourself to attack – you don’t worry about your opponents game state at all. PU/Phant plays EXACTLY how you describe it – Shatter requires more.

I genuinely believe you don’t know what other people are talking about when they say that either.

Confusing suggestions with some shatter is Stronger than full shatter build. Anyone playing full shatter is outdated.

PU is great for killing people 1v1, for holding a point it’s mediocre – although not terrible if mesmer knows not to overuse the stealth. It’s easy to play, but not much easier than a lot of cheesy meta builds.

Confusing Suggestions is insanely strong if and only if you can cast Chaos Storm, standard shatter is better all other times. PU is a disgusting trait made for griefing.

Shatter is still the best over all mesmer build imo. It lets you run Portal, Blink and Nullfield. It is pretty adaptable while allowing you to do the work of a roamer who functions individually and in a team.

yeah i don’t know how people get hit by that. it’s not like pin down animation is identical to the auto attack animation…

I agree on that: the only times my Pin Down gets avoided is because of random dodges by people spamming a lot of them.

That’s how it goes: to solve the problem of hard to read/ too fast animation they give an over abundance of dodges. Thus it ends in people spamming them because it’s the best way to avoid stuff.

We are forced to do the same against every other proffesion so what is the problem here?Everyone can do it and a lot more than warrior.Game needs more telegraphed and animation on all classes especially ranged ones not just on warrior and all others get free pass.

Pretty sure Mesmer GS has unique animations for each skill. Warrior Pin Down is a ridiculous skill and you should just agree it needs fixed instead of trying to change focus onto other classes.

I have fought players who revived themselves from scratch while they were downed and, yes, it’s happened when others weren’t even around. It’s happened with freshly spawned players (which means they didn’t tag any enemy), just like everybody is saying around here. There might actually be a bug/glitch that some people have been able to exploit.

Freshly Spawn’d means nothing, say im in mid hurting a thief i get killed and respawn, you attack me outside my spawn and down me, but the thief i had attacked in mid gets killed at that point i will res.

Distance and dying don’t mean anything just that you count towards the kill. Try not to get hysterical and shout “HAX!” before you’ve ruled out the simple explanations.

Isn’t this arguement pointless? Yes glass warriors hit VERY hard but no one uses them because their really powerful attacks are hard to land and hit 1 target. Run a meta warrior build and you’re MUCH tankier and your skills are either crazily easy to hit for massive damage (condi) or hit an entire point (hambow). People complaining that warriors using evis to hit 13k are similar to people saying eles hit 10k meteor showers – yes they can do it but thats not really important in tournaments.

Warriors have issues that need to be addressed (pin down i’m looking at you -.-) but cluttering up the place with silly 13k Evis isn’t going to help the progression of the game’s balance.

LBow 5 does need increased cast time with animation. The burst skill needs looked at (decreased uptime or something that makes you not want to cast it on recharge), its the most abusable fire field in the game.

I don’t understand what you’re saying, I’m saying Thief SBow allows them to escape and evade whatever they choose at will. You seem to have an issue with a 2sec root with a 9.5-12sec recharge. If you have a problem with skills which allow the other player to avoid too much then Thief SBow and Feline Grace should be at the top of your list – but instead at the start you say they are fine O_o

There’s a reason why thief’s SB 3 is only used very, very rarely. But you quite obviously have yet to use the skill.
