So, arenanet, really quick to push that pre-purchase…I hope you’re just as excited about my disinterest in buying gems.

I’m not…upset…I am a little scared. There was a poster some time ago that called for this very exact thing. MMO’s come and go and that most of those MMO’s have this tendency to become free to play (by way of some trial) just before that inevitable…no longer a viable MMO.

Consider, Perfect world and Neverwinter…both great to play…both will never see nor have seen a penny out of my wallet.

I guess…I’m disappointed—god I really wish I could find that post where some user was mentioning this VERY exact thing.

Gw2 will eventually turn permanently free top play and it will just kind of be..one of THOSE MMO’s. It’d be like if Paypal released an MMO featuring all new paywall content.

I mean the good thing is most of the crap you can directly and listlessly buy with gems everyone has to as well but…I think it’s quite funny how ArenaNet begs to differ regarding its “business model” but it’s actually pretty F***ing worse for those of us who continue to play…over time.

They haven’t changed anything except instead of making the new players pay out initially they displaced that on to existing players and reward them english style cookies (dry/crispy) and no milk. :/

If you have 10 expansions of GW2 the person who’s played and PAYED for all 10 of them B****es would have spent 500-600 dollars while the new guy hanging out and just picked up the game for 50-60 bucks just got all ten of them for 50-60 bucks.

It doesn’t seem like people are looking out far enough to see just how WRONG this is. I’d much rather just have a subscription and have a well tailored game versus all this Bull**** to try and finagle money from it’s players left and right just to have the ball, forget about getting and keeping it rolling, that’s a whole other struggle.

But like I said…I really hope ArenaNet is just as excited about my not spending money on Gems. F*** a bunch of that noise. It’s hard for me to want to monetarily support a seemingly dying MMO.

Free2Play spelled backwards is scam. A hard free trial, is ok that has a definite end.
But just letting players turn tricks all in the streets…no charge? Nope

great news, so i just have to wait about 10 years without playing GW2 an I can save 500 $ – in this time all my playing friends can tell me what is new and so I even don´t miss anything …cool

This is just simple math and the problem here is the explanation. Every time you have the same chance, that is true. But the chance you have something in 5 tries (with all the same chances) is bigger.

Your wiki page does say the following “The gambler’s fallacy is the false belief that a random process becomes less random, and more predictable, as it is repeated”.

That is true when looking at it from a single try. My next try is as big as my following, and the number of tries does not influence that.

However, if you have done it a lot of times, chances are bigger that one of those tries had a positive outcome.

That in fact does mean a higher number makes something less random. The whole since is based around this. If you would do a scientific paper where you use peoples feedback as part of your ‘investigation’ you will need enough people for your information to be reliable. Meaning ‘less random’ and there is software that helps you determine if your group is reliable enough. If you would only interview 2 people it would never be considered reliable. This is related to this the same chance math.

Just for the record, the wiki page does not even deny what I am saying here. It says that people believe that if they gamble on number 1 out of 10 and lose, the next try they should gamble on 1 again because now the chance is bigger that 1 will ‘drop’. That is indeed false. It does not matter on what of the 10 number they gamle, there is no difference. They can gamble on whatever they want and the chance it will be the correct number still is the same. However, having gambled 10 times increased there change of having had it right at least once (no matter what number it was) over having only gambled once. That last part is what I talked about.

So far for the lesson on math, guess it’s sort of relevant for the subject, now back tot he topic.

I would love to see both FoW an UW return with the expansion because that would bring back a LARGE part of the community that did not come over to gw2 due to the fact that it was taken out i think it would be a great idea as a former speed clearer in all the big gw1 UW guilds i dident play gw2 at first for that reason and now i came to it after a while and i pvp but if they opened up[ the speed clear aspect again it would definitely be a great add on and it would make the game flourish with new players coming back and would be great for the cpommunity and would add more things to do other than the dungeons and wvw and pvp wgitch seems to be a case i here alot that there just isent enough things to do in gw2 and adding the 2 mega worlds back would just be amazing

I didn´t dive deep into this but as far as I know it was about messing up some … let´s say “thread-to-core-binding” (not a native english, so sorry) and the more cores you got, the bigger the problem was.

I´m not saying this is the case with gw2 too, just wanted to point out, that in some circumstances it COULD be that a medium rig works better than a high-end rig. As seen with Rebirth (there also for some time no one could imagine why the high-end rigs had so much more issues than the cheaper ones)

5G is still in research stage and will probably not be in commercial devices for another bunch of years. I’m guessing you meant 4G ;-)

From a quality standpoint, you should be just fine. You might get some minor hiccups if you’re in an area with weak signal, or in a busy area, or moving around, but other than that it should work fine. I’ve experienced cruddy old ADSL connections that perform far worse than 4G.

I use it for myself, only issue for me: some times using alt+tab the mouse is somehow trapped in the top left corner, but a single click will release it.
