Johnny Johnny – Ranger (Ehmry Bay)
Hárvey Wallbanger – Alt Warrior (Ehmry Bay)
Side note, to the poor fella struggling with Druids I came across a heck of a duo last night in WvW. DH/Druid pair. Pound for pound I would say they had a solid build and knew how to work together. Didn’t matter the number of players that engaged they either won, held their ground, or had the ability to escape and reset when overwhelming (Zerg) numbers engaged.
Do you think those of us who fought them came to the forums and cried foul? Or, do you think maybe we messages them, said kitten fine job, lick our wounds, and figure out how to deal with it the next time?
Maybe you just got beat, out played, by a better player? Did you ever consider that?
that would be a nasty duo to run into, power + condi traps and all that aoe on the ground….
if they where both running trapper runes and stealthing that would be even worse
DH had traps for sure, Druid I was not sure. I partied up and said they did well and thanks for the molly whopping they gave me. Multiple times. And when they disengaged when the zerg arrived, gave them a thumbs up, well played.
Honestly, it was a solid combo who obviously knew the game and played well as a team. Synergy. Not a lot anyone can do about that other than try, learn, and give them kudo’s. That is what I did in the end.

Dueled 1 druid in wvw with zerker gear. When i got his hp to low after avoiding, tanking and surviving 50+ traps barely the ranger switch to celestial form and uses 1 skill to heal up to full hp. GG.
Full healing power, toughness, condition damage druid.
Would it be fair to have power, precision, ferocity, toughness, healing power stats then cause condition damage doesn’t need anything else than the 1 condition damage stat unlike normal damage?
So you basically want to be able to duel a druid on your terms and still be able to win easily?
No. Not be able to duel druid easily on my terms. It wasn’t easy to avoid, tank and survive 50+ traps. The thing is like it was with the old d/d ele. It does too much damage compared to what it tanks. If you build a tank build you should do almost no damage.
Ah, the dreaded 50 trap build. That one has been escaping many a Ranger and Druid. This fella you ran against must be rare and special for not many of mastered the 50 trap meta.
I mean come on and get a life buddy. You are telling one hell of a fishing tale right there and lose all credibility. You didn’t know how to handle the CC. Ignorance. Your fault. Move on. Or, try again, learn, and adapt. We are all doing that now since the EXP is only a few weeks out.
So do what Frankie does, and Relax.
Nice idea, interesting, and fun more than likely.
Selfishly I’d like to have them write a bit of SQL code that would look at players /age then see if they have found a precursor. Break down by hours played, mystic forge, or drop. And if by drop then location and content type (dungeon, WvW, etc).
In any case, let the race begin!
New maps are nice, but too large. They should have replaced EBG with a single copy of the new map. That will startle everyone and make it new. Now, leave original borderlands as they are and, wait for it, remove the option to queue for the former EBG map and force all players to access WvW via their respected servers borderland map. Yes, to enter the new very large HoT WvW map you must first enter your borderland map to gain access. And while there the only supply you can get is from the towers and camps you control.
War isn’t just about killing an opponent. You must have supply and disrupt theirs. No supplies, no food, no bullets, no fighting. Might as well do cart wheels because you can’t do anything without supplies. Moving, defending, fighting, through the borderlands allow this.
Now, having said this and probably everyone saying no way by now, you are basically providing a flow. With a flow comes a path. With a path comes a road well traveled. With a road traveled, well, bad guys roam and do mean and nasty things to you.
For WvW to work in the long run you can have the borderland maps but they must be the entry point to the larger map in the middle. They must allow scouting, disruption, access, and rewards. A way to the bigger prize. Both of which yield risk and rewards.
And let us not go down the road of what 3 large maps do to the lower populated servers…
Seems like it was changed / fixed or is it just me?
Thanks Otaur – appreciate the feedback.
Yeah, I would be very surprised if the only thing that would count vs the raid bosses are maxed out dps. And I would be very disappointed if that was the case.
Well, if it goes back to DPS only the developers should consider that a failure. Raiding was supposed to bring into play a supporting role with healing in mind. If it turns out this isn’t the case one would have to ask why have a Druid at all.
Hate to ask, but ignorance is bliss
Question: How is Astral Force and Celestial Avatar used in say WvW or even the confined space of sPvP?
I’ve seen some of the various threads and videos, all look great. Yet I’m still failing to get the basic concept of when or how Celestial Avatar should be used. A few times I’ve used it I thought it went well, others badly. This is coming from me playing conditional with traps to scout and berserk to flip NPC’s and camps.
While trying to get the gist of the Druid it seems I’m slower than most and not getting it. Especially when it sounds like it should offer a bit more CC than most other classes and those I’m playing with are dying quicker. Figured I’d ask to be pointed in the right direction or maybe provided food for though / tips / tricks.
Yeah mother kittener, P.E.T.A. does not approve. Say something righteous about pets and stop with the negative waves.
Why would they take an awkward skill and make it even more awkward??
Out of touch comes to mind. Broke class is another. To give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe just a missed bug. Although I lean more towards the opening statement and the are out of touch.
Does this really matter with regards to the content available today and PvE? All classes work. There is no damage meter pre/post encounters. There is no inspect feature to view what other players are running.
Structured PvP, there may be some issues but is it a issue of our access to HoT or due to balance issues and only one beta weekend? Also how matches are currently being done. Just something to think about.
Then there is the whole WvW side of things whereas the questions above still come into play and hold true. Is this a issue of one beta weekend, recent nerfs, bugs, or just plain ignorance due to time with HoT?
PvE, in my opinion, is a none starter. Run berserk and be happy. More structured players may have X, Y, and Z requirements but overall trait and gear for damage and you finish things. Spvp and WvW are still in progress due to the constant, although more steady state of changes lately. Personally I find the most difficult time now is in WvW trying to find a comfortable build that is good for small scale or solo play. Finding that so far has proven difficult especially with the Druid, staff, and overall gear…
Everything else in HoT has been easy mode. More so on my Ranger than my Guardian.
I very much like the build below.
“Trapperdruid”.
It provides heavy condition damage with lot’s of heal and group support. So it might provide the roles you are looking for.
It’s great also because you stun and immobilize your targets frequently. That adds some nice synergy to the new available pets, because those have knockdowns!
It’s good in PVP and even better in WvW as a roaming build or for small groups. Healing Trap is the only trap that won’t trigger damage, so together with staff 3 it is a great escape otpion if things go awry. Add beastly warden (I love it) and you almost always get away. :-)
Statwise I use Apothecary, and in WvW Shaman for more Vitality because other than Healing Spring you don’t have much condi removal! I don’t think I would use celestial though, because power, precision and ferocity aren’t much needed in this build.
That is an interesting build for WvW.
Since its somewhat hard to talk in general about matchups or fights (at least it is to me). Feel free to send me a mail or whisper me in game about specific instances that you’re curious about, I’m always happy to answer.
Thanks. It is a bit awkward here but I’m sure not going to bug you in the game Thanks again. I also checked out the 3rd video post you did and again, good job.
After playing the build and Druid yesterday with a couple hours in WvW I will say I know what the issue is for me. It is the Druid itself and ignorance and play style change. Prior to HoT I was running a LB, Axe, Torch, trapper rune ranger. While it wasn’t the best build the traps, stealth, and speed allowed me to move across the map faster and reset fights regardless of class or numbers. Using 4 traps + entangle was probably a crutch but healing spring placement always gave me a safety net. Rabid gear + celestial accessories, well – it is all different.
I have a full zerker set that I mixed in valk as your build suggests. Overall armor/toughness is lower than what I’m used to. Seems health is also. But at the end of the day it was more of trying to adapt to the play style of the Druid that gets me killed.
Long story short, my issues are ignorance right now and comfort. I am just not comfortable in most fights compared to pre HoT. And staff, omg. You know it is bad when another server whispers you and says “first time with Druid” He/she was nice, but I had to laugh for a while because it was so dead on true.
Thanks. Will give it a go. Druid is much different and so far most solo fights in open field have ended with me doing a /release. Some may be stats being different since a few celestial ascended for accessories. That and the overall armor seems low. Thiefs seems to just wreck me.
Hello again!
Decided to put together another video of my recent roaming in wvw. Like the last video, this one includes some 1v1s and some general roaming. Unlike the last video, the roaming is primarily not solo ranging from 2 to 5 with my guild.
While the overall build hasn’t changed a lot, I did change the air sigil on my lb to a sigil of agility for on demand quickness when swapping into lb.
Feel free to give me feedback about what you want to see in videos, more duels, more roaming, commentary, more wipes, whatever it is let me know.
Toying with the build out in WvW. How are you handling movement? I’m used to my condi/trap build so never had a issue. This took a bit getting used to.
Sigil of agility – ouch. That is about 100 gold right there…
Prior to HoT I ran trapper in WvW exclusively. Not played much WvW since then but when I did it was with 4 traps. Healing Spring, spike, fire, and vipers nest. I really had enough ways to reset or get out of dodge if things got messy. Entangle also.
Ruins in the borderlands, my camping grounds. Solo roaming, small group, they worked with my LB, axe, torch. Today after the removal of 1 seconds, 33% negative adjustment, not a huge fan. I’ll go back to full glass/berserk LB/something with travel runes. Or see if I can find a comfortable balanced celestial build.
(edited by Crapgame.6519)
Orion, that is not really true though. DH traps are perfectly fine without trapper runes. So it would be fine if ranger traps were solid without them.
Trapper runes are relatively new all things considered. I agree though in that traps should work with or without the runes.
Runes, sigils, and food augment stats.
Maybe the developers forgot that, I don’t know.
Interesting video, thanks. Few comments
1. Interesting music – I’m not a rap person but I found myself enjoying it. Not over the top or bombastic, so good job.
2. Nice pet name.
3. P.E.T.A does not approve of some of the ambient creature collateral damage
4. WTH is up with that Char sitting around while you are killing his buddies (someone else noted as well)
5. Good use of LB
6. Nice target calling
7. Good team work when partner/group
8. Choke point / kill zone – nice
9. Not a fan of duels but you did good
10. We don’t judge for your foe’s spelling (fite me bit )
11. Map chat character names – space asura, invalid account, etc – I giggled
Oh, did I say you look nice today? J/K
Thanks for sharing.
And raids are coming so we shall see just how poorly the Druid healing goes…
Will probably be better than the Guardians…
Due to the recent nerf / adjustment they are really not worth it. Yes, it was only the removal of 1 second but it is a 33% reduction in stealth bottom line. So depending on how you use them and how many traps you ran, it is a big deal.
This is coming from someone who has used them since they became available on the Ranger. They are perfect in solo or HAVOC group WvW fights, er, or used to be. Mixed in with LB, axe, and torch I found them to be borderline over powered but could still be countered by above average players regardless of the class you are fighting.
Fallout 4 is out today/tonight.
That is true. I was also all excited about the new Tomb Raider…until I saw it was a Xbox exclusive
I don’t have any data on this, Arena Net does however. But….they won’t post any of it.
The startling statistic I’d like to know is the the number of hours people are playing pre and post HoT. Basically speaking, if you have a character since the head start how many hours would you say you are playing today after the expansion pack compared to before?
That is the money question. My answer is simple, less than 30% if that of pre expansion. WvW is in a rut. New maps are beautiful but too big to be borderlands. Server populations are still borked and wall clock coverage wins the day. There is no skill in the top tier no matter how much they say otherwise, we all know it. sPvP is in a funky state due to guild halls or whatever the coin phrase of the day is.
I’ll go so far to also say that the new maps in PvE world are confusing. I don’t care much about mastery system but when they are not clearly identified on the map (upper, lower, completed, not completed, not tried, etc) it wastes a lot of time. Ok, so don’t hand it to me. But if/when I visit the NPC who then shows me some of the map…for Pete’s sake, clearly call out areas of interest.
Bottom line for the play style I’m into, mostly WvW and sPvP, the expansion was a miss. Add to the fact I’m a PvE newb and I find the maps confusing or wasteful with regards to time vs. accomplishment; well, it isn’t fun.
So to me it is really a matter of me logging in for say an hour or two and feeling like I accomplished something. With HoT that isn’t the case anymore.
Because they’re less defansive then Crusader and healing power is not that important really. With 900-1000 healing power you can heal like crazy.
Wouldn’t you want as much healing power as possible? To get the biggest green numbers? If not, why not?
You can easily sustain enough heal with -+1000 healing power. Druid is a burst healer. We hava too little regen skills. So you don’t need enormous amount of healing power. You just need the certain number of healing power so you can sustain the proper healing at fights. Sure you can go with a pure healing build and pick the right skills and traits for it but as I said you will be missing a lot with this. You can go with pure cleric and magi and increase your healing power but with this you will lose a lot from other stats. At the and you will lack some survivabilty and a lot of damage. On top of that you can go with the nature magic for a little more healing but you will lose spotter -which is one of the most important ranger traits in my opinion- and quick draw. Support is not all about healing. And in my opinion Druid is by far the best support class for WvW right now.
So much for the Guardian….all that heavy armor, what a waste.
Side note on healing – Celestial should be the middle ground though all things being healing related – or does that lose too much of the other stats. This seems rather difficult for a game design that has no formal healing role.
You need 3000 sprokets (among other things) for zealots.
Oh. Well, that is just plain stupid.
It’s situational. Minstrels is extremely bunker, which is handy, but there’s not a lot of value to staying alive for its own sake in wvw. Minstrels build would be for mixing it up at the frontlines while spamming heals and ccc.
Magi and Cleric are also pretty defensive, but less so, and more justifiable in a backline build. I’d love to recommend Zealots, but, uh, that price point….
Because ignorance is bliss, what or why is Zealots out or what is the price point?
Too bad the designer of DH and Ranger is of different people.
True, but same company. One would think they would bump into one another over coffee, soda, or pee break. /rollseyes
Doesn’t matter if it is 1, 25, 50, or N….the system is broke. I mean seriously, look at the yack slapper achievement. If you can’t see the system is broke due to the amount of noise, this one title was supposed to be difficult yet here we are with a change to make it obtainable by the masses.
The more I see the lack of attention to the whole WvW concept the more I see it is just a ruse or smoke screen. It was put into place to capture the older DaOC style of PvPer who only cared about RvR. The problem is that the system they introduced didn’t have any supporting cast.
No portal for player or guild statistics. The orbs never got addressed. The jumping puzzles got nerfed. No traps outside the jumping puzzles. No guard warnings, no alliances. No migration path between starting point and EBG. Let us not even get started on server populations, ranking system, and wall clock coverage.
PVE gets all the rewards, WvW nothing. To top it off they couldn’t balance PvE, sPvP, and WvW. I mean, how difficult is it to just tie sPvP with WvW and leave PvE alone? Seems pretty simple to me. Yet we get Edge of Mists – big whoop. As if you couldn’t split the player base even more than what it already is.
Leave it to ANet to make a tamable dragon suck.
Lol. This made me giggle.
Sad, but true. Outside of looks the pet is useless.
Article is not relevant to actual problems that have been known now since six months after retail.
1. Population + 24 hour coverage separates top to bottom, not skill
2. New maps are nice, but we didn’t need 3
3. No portal for “ALL” players (by name, class, guild, week, month)
4. Orbs broke
5. No guard warnings for claiming
6. Focus is always EBG
7. Dumbed down – Obsidian Sanctum / JP’s map complete (no siege), traps, ghost town
List goes on and on and on. Bottom line, EBG should have been replaced with 1 copy of the new map. Original borderland maps stay as is. Entry point to new map is via borderlands. While passing through, re/supply to take to new map…
Anyway just my take on it having played DaOC for a long time.
Eirdyne – that is true. Midgard’s hunter is what I ran, and a Thane, and Spiritmaster. Anyway I am detracting from the thread but it was more along the lines of master levels and their requirement vs. how they impacted RvR (those who had vs. have not). I won’t even go into scroll farming Good game though prior to.
And a game that dates back to 2001 had a portal with “ALL” player statistics to include guild and alliances. Are you listening Arena Net?
I understand why A.net went the route of masteries and unlocking but compared to retail launch the whole look and feel of the new PvE map seems wonky. sPvP seems out of kilt due to the new guild mechanic. WvW? Maps are nice, but did we really need 3 and replace the original borderlands? Maybe take one and replace EBG…
Everything is pretty much broke now. Only the developers think otherwise.
I don’t think I recall seeing a more borked expansion pack than this – it even gives Trials of Atlantis / DaOC a run for its money.
And here I was thinking that the Guardian’s heavy armor and primary role in WvW was to be on the front line pushing…. /boggle.
Xavath – glad you are trying stuff out like this. Will be interesting to see how mine does in WvW. Thanks for the information and feedback post play.
Wondering myself the role of a Druid in WvW.
Solo, duo, 5/HAVOC.
Zerg.
Large scale, zerg, seems tricky but I’ve honestly not run Druid at all in WvW so no idea how the flow goes. Hoping this thread gets some movement…
On a serious note, is it really that bad?
I’ve not sPvP’d at all since HoT. I’ve also not played as much due to HoT and some of the initial frustrations. And….I’ve really only worked on map complete for the entry point or starting area and only to mastery 3. Not even logged in for a whole week which is rare.
In summary, HoT for whatever reason does not hold the same lure as retail GW2 did and WvW does not seem as fun. Nor does the new mastery and hero point map complete changes.
I thought I was reading some other grumblings about hot join or pre-mades being a issue. Not sure.
Is this why everyone keeps running like the same builds? Personally i’m not a big fan of this build. There are also a few tricks I think RoM could do to be more successful, but y’know esports and all, I think I should keep secrets for now.
So hows that longbow staff working out for you? :P
But yeah, everyone’s running the same build because there’s a metabattle build already up.
Most will run the same builds nowadays because of the never ending nerfs, er, changes. Build diversity is a thing of the past.
I don’t have a issue with Fluff but I’ll agree with Swag on this one. Not that it matters because we are all friends here.
Statements like “best” always lead to these replies. Big picture there are a lot of players in the GW2 space so best spvp or xyz player is always subjective. This is why you could get away with it a bit more in DaOC or WoW because they had actual leaderboards that represented “all” players. DaOC had the best one yet because it broke it down by guild, alliance, player, and class…
Anyway – will check out the stream regardless and thanks for the post fluff.
Why?
sPvP is one.
Thief abuse two.
Guardian’s three.
I could probably throw a few more
I’ve read most of your post, displayname. You are just a negative person overall, but I’m sure you’ll grow out of it.
I never said we should quit for a month. I’m still playing WvW and so are many other people. Just because you don’t see as much people as you used to doesn’t mean that no one else is playing it. Transfer to medium-server Ehmry Bay (I know you wouldn’t) and see for yourself. DH and SF are putting up a great fight and swarms of them are still roaming around my scouts.
This isn’t just a simple new content like the Living Story. This is an expansion. During the first 2 months of Guild Wars 2 (not HoT) release, was WvW crowded as it was a month ago? I was there and I will tell you now, no it wasn’t. Most people were doing PvE, PvP, and few WvW. I walked around the entire map and didn’t found a single fight. The current WvW map is more crowded than it was during those first two months of Guild Wars 2 release.
Free transfer is the solution? I’m sure they would do that if you are willing to pay for their cost of maintaining their server. ANet is by far more generous than most company I’ve seen. They don’t make a dime out of GW1 besides when users purchases the game (Prophecy, Faction, Nightfall, Eye of the North), and yet they are still maintaining those servers, keeping them alive. Do you pay for those? No you don’t. Free transfer is not a solution, silly bear. =) You seem more like a cheapskate than anything. You probably own dozens of those free gw2 accounts.
Are you really using dead zones as a counter argument? My whole point is to stop dead times and get a true 24/7 WvW going. We should not be accepting huge dead times as just the price of doing business.
Transfer to Ehmry Bads is your answer? What about tier 1? What about all the other tiers and servers? Massive imbalance is not an answer.
Free transfer, lower transfer, whatever. Micro transactions and more profitable than macro transactions. Charging $25 to change a server when the real problem IS the server is just silly.
Did you really just call out a server?
Pretty sure you know this but the only thing that is separating kitten Tn is wall clock coverage.
Edit: Let us try again. The only thing separating top tier servers, 1 – 3, and bottom tier through 24 is wall clock coverage first, and total population second.
(edited by Crapgame.6519)
Not sure who to thank more, Thief or Guardian. To be honest, they are adjusted due to sPvP. They went months in WvW and PvE just fine.
Side note, Guardians haven’t been as impacted as Rangers/Druids post HoT launch. While I do feel your pain, I have a Guardian, it is very clear 1 Beta weekend wasn’t enough for Druids and they are suffering due to it.
This is why you can’t mix a PvE game with a PvP focused game.
Good news is that I’ve hardly played the expansion pack and only 30% unlocked on the Druid. Bad news is that all I read are adjustments to this class and the Dragon Hunter. So I really don’t know what I’m missing.
However, the nerf to trap runes destroyed my WvW build (yes, 1 second is not that bad but still) so that did impact me. All of this could have been caught had they provided more beta windows. Especially with the Druid. 1 weekend clearly shows this isn’t right. No where near.
I’d like some explanations of what people want.
Let’s say the desert borderlands won’t go away (they really won’t since it’s a completely new map) so what changes would you like to it?
List please.
Replace EBG with new map.
Replace borderland maps.
Make new map entry point in the original borderland maps.
Move siege purchase and supply in the borderland maps.
Increase ruin timer
Allow gliding in new map
What these 6 things force is supply chain and personal movement. It provides a reason to enter and fight in borderlands. It allows choke points. It provides smaller populated servers area of denial. It allows ONE large map for people to focus on while sending smaller people, guilds, servers, solo roamers a place to scout and focus while larger guilds, groups, pugs in single map.
Supply chain, troop movement, etc.
Does’t really matter if it is dead or alive (great Oingo Boingo song btw) the new map x 3 is too large. They should have replaced EBG with the new map and leave the original borderland maps as is. That way the main movement and players are on the new map…
Be that as it may, after:
1. Halloween is finished
2. People are done, bored, frustrated of mastery
3. Crafting/making new stuff
4. Raids – when they pick up
5. Balance changes
WvW may pick up. I’d give it a few more weeks just to let the new content settle down. After that and the meta doesn’t pick up, I’d worry. Good news is that CU is due out mid 2016 if they hold true. If not, then later 2016. It is probably the only thing that may get WvW to have some much needed attention.
Otherwise it will be a ghost town.
So they actually reduced it from 3 to 2 seconds? Great.
I knew as soon as these runes ended up in WvW they would get adjusted. Honestly I don’t see much use for them now. 2 seconds isn’t anything compared to who long other classes are getting stealth. That just blew up my WvW build.
Probably still work if I run 4 traps but that really isn’t ideal…
Yeah you almost die refusing to cast your heal skill, which is the type of heal you use above 75% health, and if you had used it you would have been able to use celestial form.
Translation:::
The Drooid is Awesome Guys! Its meant to be used with a healing spec so you ain’t not using it right unless you heal!!! So kitten this video!Well…yes.
And in a power build, he could have generated enough AF to use CF if he wanted to. But he didn’t want to push heal because it would have negated the whole point of his Pitch-Fork video clearly meant to fuel the Druid-Hate Train.
Well, feel free to bring your own video to the table and prove otherwise? Just a thought.
They posted about it so know it is wonky. What that means is unknown at this time because change this and it is worse, change that and it is fine in pve but broke everywhere else, or change this and that and maybe sprinkle a bit of fairy dust over your shoulder and now it is fine everywhere but broke in WvW large scale fights. So now we have to remove it from WvW or put the grand 33% to it…
Ive posted several vids. I could link them here I suppose.
Well, you got me there.
Not to take away from the videos, by either party, devs did post to say they are looking at it. The only question I have is to what degree of a change are we going to see and in what format of play. Will it be the same or tailored. Personally I don’t like the tailored approach because it never seems to be the same. Raid content is now another balancing act they need to consider. So WvW, sPvP, 5 player dungeons, solo 5 player dungeons, and now raid / 10 players.
Maybe it is time to treat WvW like sPvP and save them some developer bucks and separate all forms of PvE from PvP.

Just model it after death shroud. There’s already an internal cool down with the astral skills. There’s zero reasons to gate it more. Healing needs to be an on demand process, unlike attack, so you can’t treat it the same as adrenaline.
But think of all that adrenaline you gain by not knowing if your heal will reach your friend in time before they are dead…
If regen were removed it would be in all modes. I’ve seen that in PvP it is also a pretty heavy gating, but in PvE it is appears worse due to the more frequent travel time between engagements.
What about fix AF generation? It’s almost impossible to reach celestial form in PvP.
Interesting. Few times there you came close to death but I guess that doesn’t matter in the end, right?
Forgot trapper runes are in the game now (sPvP).
So, having played for 24h hrs now and even though I’m still super discouraged w/ the implementation of Hero Points and needing 400 in a Game Mode I don’t like (PVE)….
They’ve done some really good improvements to DH. It’s not nearly as “clunky” – it’s alot more fluid and has some “OK” synergies.
The damage is defiantly NOT the issue. lol
Bow targeting is still a bit wonky – feels like a ranger longbow at short range where you’re not always hitting the target – regardless of how much you’re straifing and firing.
Contrast to ranger short bow which rarely has issues “hitting” the target.
Agree with the whole mastery and hero point deal. Would have been a nice idea for those of us who only perform WvW to use our existing ranks and buy them. Those who only do WvW get most of the hero points instantly. Those that do a bit of PvE and WvW get them at about the middle ground. Those that PvE, well, get them at that pace.
DH with bow is a lot like playing duck hunter. You need to lead the target. More so than I do on my ranger.
Swap EBG with “ONE” (1) copy of the new map.
Return original BL maps, to include ruins.
Connect new map with gates to access BL maps.
BL maps are supply chain.
New map is primary.
In enter WvW you start at your respected BL map. You collect supply here and the ruin buff. Of course the ruin buff timer is increased to 15 or 30 minutes. Anyway, you work your way though this map to build up supply and add/pay for sentries. In order to enter the new map you pass through here first.
Main idea is that in order to access new map you must pass “go” first. While passing through you are collecting supply, ordering guards, and gaining ruin buff if applicable. Maps have activity because supply / people is flowing through it. You pass through a main gate(s) from respected server to new map. People can camp/guard gates. It is a choke point. If you don’t want the gate due to possible camping / ganking, remove gate and portal it.
Point is, you have a steady flow by connection and pathing. People can access other servers BL’s by reverse order of course and you would do this to limit their supply or guards.
Flow is the problem that we have always had. Has nothing to do with map size outside lower populated servers. Flow is mandatory otherwise we’ll all end up right back in EBG once the newness wears off…
