I`m level 80 now what ?

So yes, we need raids,

We need raids? Maybe you need raids, I certainly don’t. There are hundreds of raiding games, not every mmo has to have raids.

In my view, combat is the weakest part of this game

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

Well I played GW1 since it released and I find GW2 much more enjoyable with the combat. Only thing I’d like to see would be to give us a few more skills to choose from for the weapons and allow us to switch those weapon skills (say there are 10 skills per weapon, allow us to customize our skill bar for 5 of those skills). Otherwise, I much prefer GW2’s combat.

A Discussion of LFG Tools

Creeper.9360

Could just put something like that LFG website in game, basically a message board. GW1 had them in each city/outpost. Just expand that globally and you’d have a very nice LFG tool.

I’d rather see them concentrate more on the open world rather than have more instances.

Creeper.9360

I think GW2 development team has changed there focus and now want to move people over to dungeons/WvW and drop working on the open world. Thats my impression right now.

I certainly hope that’s not the case. The open world is the best part of this game.

I don’t mind the WvW part of the game but if they focus on getting everyone into Dungeons I’ll be super disappointed. That would probably spell the end of the game for me at least.

Do you think GW2 got "action combat" right?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

I enjoy the combat in GW2 but’s not really a true action game, it’s a hybrid.

true action games would be something like Vindictus and Dragon Nest.

These are game forums, it’s what happens. Some other game forums are actually more negative than this. I said in another thread but if you really want to enjoy the game then one of the best things you can do is avoid the forums altogether.

Why are people doing dragon bosses?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

I do them every once in a while, once or twice a week. I enjoy them. I certainly don’t do them for the loot (well really in this game I don’t do anything for the gear). I just enjoy killing the big dragons with a bunch of strangers.

the "/age" feature

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

Compared to other mmos if your age is less then 500 and thinking about quitting it, it wasn’t very good. Compared to GW1 I had over 7,000 hours in 7 years and I still actively play it. GW2 I have 400ish hours and maybe play it every 2-4 days (to do a dungeon or two). Not a good investment for me…not good at all

Gem Store Transmog Gear worth it?

Well I don’t know about you but I have over 50 fine transmutation stones in my bank and I haven’t spent a dime in the store.

Gem Store Transmog Gear worth it?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

Essentially yes. The stones are one time use consumable. But you get so many of them just by playing the game (map completions, chests, personal story rewards).

Gem Store Transmog Gear worth it?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

Yeah you combine both pieces of gear into one. When you use a stone and put both armor pieces in (or weapon) you’ll get a choice of which look you want, what stats you want, and what modification (rune or sigil) you want.

Gem Store Transmog Gear worth it?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

Well the armor will transmute the first time, after that you will have to use the stones just like any other armor. Just really depends on if you like the look of the armor.

By the way, what does Transmog mean in your title? Did you misspell transmute?

So nothing big for pve until march at least?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

Maybe, but I’d be perfectly happy if they added to the pvp part of the game (it needs it in my opinion) and put in some quality of life stuff for the whole game (i.e. more functional LFG tool, preview option for the tradepost, better sorting options for the tradepost). And if they add in and switched some dynamic events around then I think it would definitely be a good couple of patches.

Creeper.9360

They have come up with a lot of mini games for the holiday events, I would think it fairly simple for them to put them in permanently in their respective cities.

not sure what the hang up on guesting is though

Increasing weapon skills

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

I’d like to have options A and B

But really the main thing I’d like to have is to be able to switch out my skills per weapon. Say there is a pool of 10 weapon skills for each weapon, then we can select 5 of those skills to have available. Well maybe 4 since the 1 skill will have to be one in which there is no cooldown on.

Needs implementation of saving builds

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

I would love to be able to save templates like we did in GW1. Heck if they need a gold sink with this, just have a one time fee for each extra template that we are allowed to have.

I’d love to be able to experiment with different trait setups along with different weapons and utility skills. That was actually the best part of GW1, coming up with different builds. I’d like to see that come to GW2.

In my view, the Trinity Needs to Come Back

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

boy this thread has blown up

some folks here have caught on to the right idea. what needs to happen is better encounter design and better npc enemy AI. Since this combat has more action and fps elements to it, take a clue from fps games. fps AI is infinitely superior to mmorpg AI. Use tactics like flanking, scatter from aoe, cover, kiting, all that good stuff. Incorporate that to the mobs instead of reverting back to the tired holy trinity formula.

In my view, the Trinity Needs to Come Back

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

No, it doesn’t need to come back.

However, what I do feel that the game could use is better use of the combos (combo field and finishers). Make them more important in group situations. I think people will have a better sense of teamwork if that were the case.

But having specialized tank, damage, heal roles? No thanks, there are a million games out there for that type of play style.

Legendary weapons stats same as exotics

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

ANet has officially stated that Legendary stats will be bumped to Ascended when Ascended weapons are introduced.

They actually stated that ascended weapons would help “bridge the gap” between exotic and legendary weapons. It’s my belief that Legendary weapons will be better than ascended weapons which will be better than exotics. Basically Orange items will one day be equivalent to current day Greens . Which is a huge shame. It makes spending resources and materials for rare exotics a set back .

They are talking about the time gap in order to acquire said items, not a gap in power.

How to justify the Cash Shop

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I thought we were way past these arguments. Doesn’t WoW have an item shop in addition to the sub fee and paying for the initial game? There are much worse payment models than what GW2 has.

The Skipping culture

in Suggestions

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

To help alleviate it (You can’t really 100% stop it) I suggest the devs take a page out of TSW.

Indeed. But Funcom is a lot better at designing scripted content than ArenaNet is.

The skipping culture comes from in part from lack luster and tedious instance designs and it also comes from the speed clear culture of GW1.

It’s one of the reasons why I don’t run dungeons in GW2, which is a shame since that is what the game at max level seems to want you to do.

It really hammers the point that people want to be told what to do and where to go. At least those first three points really show that for the OP of that article. It’s why a real sandbox mmo will never be popular.

I think if the author really wanted to be critical of the game he picked the wrong points.

Opinion: Feeling less like an MMORPG

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Creeper.9360

Creeper.9360

Anyone coming in to the game later is getting a less amazing experience IMHO.
.

And the mmorpg solution for the last decade has been to make it easier to get to L80. Because that’s where the real game begins.

BAAHAHAHAHAH! You’re joking right?

Waitwut, did I just get trolled?

Well what he said is basically true for the majority of the mmos. Most of them are bimodal in nature and the leveling is just transitory. For me, the “end game” is where I almost always quit an mmo because it just isn’t fun for me.
