So basically you guys are saying you do not want players from pve and you do not want new players? Then how do you expect WvW to get better? Yes anet can work on ppt system yes they can work on QoL but what about population? Population should be their first priority before it’s too late and it already is to be honest. GvG scene is dead and it isn’t going to come back until WvW gets more population new/old players. We need both and it’s our duty (experienced players) to teach these new players. There are a lot of players in PVE who I picked and the old leader of my guild did(I was picked up from pve) I am currently working on training the ones I picked yes not all of them want to be hardcore but he’ll sometimes even casuals can make a difference. Yes I also agree the team chat in map instances should work as a server chat and allow people to spam messages in chat because I see a lot of people in queue for eb and those players could be used to sometimes create second or third blob.

get more people at the times that people already play and cuase them to queue and you find the veteran wvw players can become a little inhospitable to the newcomers.

for me personally i feel for the overall health of wvw we need to do things to adress the glass ceiling and raise it if we want overall wvw population to grow.

As it stands it makes it that you want people to play wvw but only if they are going to play when you don’t, all for fear you will have to end up queuing and competing for a spot during your chosen play time.

Well the glass ceiling you are talking about with queues and everything there are t9tal of 12 servers currently if every day all those 12 server start queue up then anet can start opening other servers there used to be totally of 24 servers on NA and there are 12 currently and you can see the difference. +reset being at 10pmest doesn’t help either when est and west coast players are all trying to get into map together on reset it’s just creates a long queue which can be avoided by just makimg reset early because anet isn’t going to do it cuz “it’s too early for pst players” like kitten pls

its more we need additional maps that can open and close to accommodate peak play periods and do more for the matchup other than ‘oh some supplies are in your citadel….’

newcomers are just not going to venture into wvw when its all queued up to wait to play something they haven’t tried yet. and during off peak time they can’t figure out what to do or who to follow because there isn’t enough people in the maps.

we need to build up the current overall wvw population so that the people that play other than strictly the peak hours can be enough to populate the core maps but have enough substantial wvw maps that during peak hours everyone can play and feel like they are in ‘real’ wvw and working towards to score without having queues on all the maps.

Again you are right but you need population and only t1 and some t2 servers have that kind of population it all literally sums up to the same problem which is we need more playerso in WvW

From the posts on the subject of removing crafting stations it is clear that a large fraction of forum goers do not want new people nor do they want to be bothered by people who do not 100% wvwvw accessing their game.
Your ideas would be horrible to them.

I understand your point but with these ideas I am pretty sure every 1/10 person who will enter WvW will become hardcore WvWer that’s how I was introduced and I know so many other hardcore WvW players that were introduced this way. If we want to keep the gamemode alive we can’t rely on those players returning because they aren’t so we need new blood.

Yes, but that was my point. Several on forums cannot see this. The person at ANET who agreed with them also cannot see this.

Well he can’t see this because players are foracing them for not seeing this. Polls are all nice and stuff but with certain things anet should just do it with asking the players and if they rage let them also with the polls I hate polls because morr than 60% peoplease voting aren’t as experienced so that’s kittening bs.

Now that my topic has caught your attention let’s jump right into the discussion. As we all know WvW iseason consistently losing population and it’s literally blob vs blob everywhere, GvG scene dead and havoc is still there but not so much. Don’t worry I wouldn’t be going to all those issues I just made this post with my ideas on how to fix WvW population.

1. Make WvW required for map completion once again. Previously you had to basically get every way point/point of interest in each map. No, that was a bad idea, you want to make it so that players only have to get way points, points of interest, hero points etc from home borderland or just one borderland and your side of Ebg excluding Stonemist Castle. Yes I know arena net implemented gift of battle reward track so people can actually experience WvW but tbh people are just going afk while the timer tiks and they got score towards gift of battle and not every player goes for a legendary after they are map completion so I think WvW needs to be included into map completion once again.

2. There needs to be a WvW specific guild wars 2 trailer. Seriously though arena net there is no game out there with RvR game mode like this until next year. Sonly I think you will profit a lot from making WvW specific guild wars 2 trailer, advertising it and letting people know that there is something lIke this out there trust me a lot of people will join and buy guild wars 2 just for WvW especially with the combat system and mechanis guild wars 2 has to offer.

3. Bring back WvW season. Yes arena net you have said WvW season are bad because there has been permanent loses of players and especially with this world linking and stuff but seriously thought take a vote. WvW season don’t have to be 3 months long they only need to be 3-4 weeks long and see how WvW population increase and please make sure players get op rewards for participating because rewards will definitely bring them PvErs into WvW.
Also that WvW legendary backpiece make it available through seasons only like PvP.

4. Make WvW specific achievements other than the ones that already exist for them achievement hunters and make them interesting ya know.

Those are few things I thought of arena net can do to bring in population to WvW. I know there is a lot of other things they can do so guys I highly request you guys to post your ideas down in the comment section because we all know a lot of experienced guilds and players have quit the game the only WvW is going to get better is by getting more players and it’s basically all on us few experienced players who are still playing this game to train those new guys so WvW gvg scene can be revived once again and WvW can be great again and people will actually start caring once again. I am still hopeful that WvW can be great again I hope most of you guys are too as well. Also guys let’s keep this post clean and out of drama.

What most people want Arena net to do to help with population. (At least what I gothink from reading the post.)

1. Make major cities like LA, Divinity reach, black citadel, etc server wide and make Team chat server wide.

Boon duration is not even the problem tbh

An organized group that doesnt have a mesmer gets perma might fury swift retal regen vigor protection while having 50% resistance uptime and 80% stab uptime. Revs can get the latter boons perma as well. With the help of a mesmer a group of 10 can stack +1 minute of all boons except for resistance and stability. Although resistance is around 30s.

Necros can corrupt the kitten out of you

Maybe so but necro corrupts have much higher cooldowns than boon or condi removal skills. Traited reaper leap is quite effective but it requires you to go condi, in which case your damage output is gutted by resistance.

Boon duration is not even the problem tbh condis overcome boon duration. Necros can corrupt the kitten out of you. Condi Necros with your power backline running sigil or nullification you are always removing boons so please nerf conditions.

Man this is so kittening bs half my guild on TC half my guild on Kaineng and someone of my members still on DH yeah anet of course linking is.great you know guilds are totally not going to kittening die kittening hell that’s I’m out V overwatch here I come.

I know.TC is open but it’s going to take at least 3-4 days to get all my players there and by then anet will probably lock it. I would really appreciate if they would leave TC open for at least till next reset but they aren’t going to do that.

Right now the problem is that anet is working on fixing ppt system which shouldn’t be their first goal. Should it be a goal? Yes but it should be long term goal. Changing ppt system isn’t going to bring all the experienced players and Guilda that have quit the game. Major priority for arena net should be is bring people into WvW. Absolutely not! The amount of OT required for a 12 week season would burn out the last cares anyone has for WvW.

Guild Hall arena came too late and was put in at a time when many many players were turned off WvW by the HOT issues. Plus it is manifestly unsuitable for GvG in terms of size.

While I agree that it may have come too late… the size of it can be augmented relatively easily with some effort. There have been several practical examples I have seen were the arena’s total playable surface has been increased by quite a lot.

Either way, GvG as it manifested in this game was essentially given not one but two options for a venue and the community rejected both. Not to mention one of them having the distinct advantage of not being tied to the WvW matchup. So whatever the shortcomings with Guild Hall instancing for the time being… it has advantages too, besides with 50 man squads juggling instances is trivial to the old days.

For an ad-hoc game type, in the end, it received more support than I would have expected albeit all of it was indirect in the sense that both places are generally usable for any player created events.

The guild hall arena is only good for 10v10. GvG scene was something that was created out of WvW did anet had any intention for it? maybe. Arena net made a mode called WvW and I am pretty sure they definitely expected guild groups to fight but i dont think they expected GvG to become such a hit. All GvG players were asking for was an official tournament and some recognition to the top guilds but Anet loves PvP.

WvW lack real reward. They axed 2 buffs to bring more pvers in and guess what pvers dont care about wvw so its time to give out real reward.

The hate that a net and wvw recieved over the last week shows how little interest in wvw exists from the pve side of the game. Fortune vale was most likely scrapped because anet realized how little tollerance for either game mode exists in the different camps.

I would suggest to complete the overhaul, create a solid Basis and Start a massive advertizement campaign to draw in new players. Right now there is no other big rvr game (don’t even Start with ESO, that is just Staff wars 2), but there are competitors in the making.
Better they start now and get the media on it before the focus drifts to the new kid in town.

i agree anet seriously needs to start advertising WvW a lot more. I can guarantee there are a lot of people out there who don’t even there is a game with mode like WvW.

Dear Anet,

I know previously you have mentioned that WvW seasons causes burnout. I would like to suggest perhaps bringing back some form of WvW tournament would lure back the people who left. Maybe with some unique skins to go with it.

Personally I know a ton of guys and girls who were previously wvw fans that left for other games due to the staleness of the game mode, they would definitely come back and give it a try again if seasons was reinstated.

Season 2 was I’m sure some of the best Wvw action most of us players have ever experienced for a realm v realm game. Bring back the love!

A dev stated that there were permanent losses to the population numbers after each tournament. It’s unlikely we will get them back in that form or anytime soon while all this other “stuff” is going on. We are far from tournament ready.

There were permanent losses of players because tournaments were too long they need to be short like 3 weeks max and that is it. Every quarterly update 3 weeks of tournament with open rewards.

I see a lot of people blaming the way ppt system works killing WvW no it isn’t. Is it part of killing it? Yes it is but is it as major as other things? No. What actually killed WvW or is killing WvW? Here’s my list
#1 being the major issue and #10 being the least
#1. Arena Net not caring for WvW 3-4 years go when it actually has population.
#2. Not giving GvG scene any representation or making it a scene. (One of the devs even interrupted a gvg and try shutting down)
#3. HoT and gimmicks
#4. Stab changes.
#5. Introducing transfers and server stacking
#6. Match ups getting locked and becoming pale
#7. PPT system.
#8. Server politics and Tier politics
#9. Waiting 6 months before started making any changes (WvW population probably dropped like Snoop Dogg dropping like it’s hot)
#10. Server links.

Taking surveys of people rank 10 and above is bs because people who are below rank 500 don’t know anything about WvW or how it used to be. You should just send mails to people with rank 500 and above or 1000 and above because they actually know how WvW should be and how to fix it. With DBL poll I bet those 35% people who said completely remove it were rank 1000 above and people with rank 10 amd above prolly only voted for bring it back just bcz “another map”.

PPT needs to be redone, rebalanced or entirely removed. Though I am personally of a mind to have it actually balanced, rather then account for 80-90% of the total score.

I would balance it in the following manner:

1. Reduce the actual holding value, by at least half, possibly more.
2. Balance it so that the weekly total holding objectives value is roughly equal to points generated via combat (kills)
3. Increase the value for actual captures, defending, delivering escorts (yaks) etc. Actually doing stuff instead of doing nothing.

This would cause more fights over objectives, no matter which for they take while balancing points generated via different playstyles, while simoultaneously help balance out disparities in population and timezone disparities.

Exactly my point and the point of this post. Anets needs to make changes in such a manner that it will make players to get more involved with the game mode not run away

Let’s start of with rewards, first thing comes in everyone’s mind now is reward track. Currently reward track is purely based on tick timer. The score which you get towards you rewards is purely based on the tick timer. It’s a good thing and a bad thing. It’s a good thing because it makes people play more and ita bad because it’s a little slow and people tend to just afk while they are getting rewards for doing nothing.

That’s a fair point. The system that sinks your reward participation when you’re idle is supposed to solve this, but it has a major flaw. Imagine you’re in your green, and at your home BL. And now, everything more or less turns green, so if you don’t want to lose your participation, you need to go in another BL and it’s queued… And yes, it happened to me !

Arena should keep it that way but additionally they should also make people earn it. If you are active and following a tag ktraining then suddenly there is a fight the amount of damage you do should be accumulated into score and added towardsome your rewards.

That may not be the best exemple. Lots of ppl in ktrains just spam skills randomly, just to hit the target, with no concern on how much dmg they make.

Now to keep the score balanced you want to make sure that the scales off of amount players you did damage to not the keep/tower lord and Guard but the actual players.

If the enemy player is sitting inside the tower using the arrow cart or any siege and damaging almost every single one of enemy players should NOT be taken into consideration because that will just promote siege wars and you definitely want to AVOID that because it already exist to extreme. If you are enemy map solo or roaming with friends, let’s say you are capping tower or a camp the only time you will get the score towards your reward track is if there is or are enemy contesting and trying to defend it and you managed to kill the enemy and cap the tower or a camp then yes you will get the score towards your reward track because you earned it but you also don’t want to kitten off defender so they will also get some score towards their reward track for trying and trust this will actually make some people contest camps and towers even they have no chance of defending just because fasterror reward track completion(this idea will only apply to towers, camps and keeps on Enemy borderlands and enemy side of eternal battlegrounds).

I strongly disagree on these ones. PvP is part of WvW but it’s not and has never been the main focus. The main focus of WvW is claiming, upgrading, defending and holding points (camps, towers, keeps…). That’s the main idea of the game mode, and this idea leads to some PvP. Playing what the game mode is about should be rewarding even if it’s boring PvD. And I could even say that fighting random ppl in the field in the middle of nowhere and for no reason (GvG ppl ?) should not lead to any kind of reward. OS is all for that. Not BL.

The upgrade system. Anet you should seriously just take a poll on this one and see for yourself if the community wants the old upgrade system back. I can guarantee that most of the community does want the old upgrade system back. If you believe it or not it made get involved a lot. Not sure it’d be effective. The former upgrade system led to “I’m holding the tower, I don’t care about camps” bahaviour. The actual one actually gives more purpose to camps and yaks. Of course, that purpose makes sense only if you consider WvW as a tactical game mode focused on objectives. And as you perfectly underlines it : players have to care. Which they mostly do not.

I mean PvD already exist to its extreme because of PPT system if they include the system i talked about above i personally believe it would make people come out of the tower and actually fight not just stay inside and spam ACs.

Game mode becoming stale…. yeah I think to make fun you should bring back season and I know I have said this toon many time but season will actually bring players back. Have quarterly WvW seasons just like PvP but I think PvP season last a month and a half and if the WvW season last that long I think people will burn out and quit so to avoid that from happening make the seasons last three weeks. Every end of the week for those three weeks before reset happens and let’s say your server wins every player who participated that week gets 100 gold, 25 transmutation charges, 10 unidentified dyes 100% chance to get 3 exotic items it could precursor to anything, a black lion claiming ticket etc make rewards anything but make them stand out so people would actually want to work for it but you don’t want the second place server or the last place server get upset and rage so you also give them some rewards and make sure those some rewards that you give them are worth it. Another thing you can do is have 3 set rewards that all 3 server will be getting either way if they lose or win and bonus rewards if your server wins you get 3 extra bonus rewards, second place gets 2 and last place gets 1. Three set rewards I think you should have are 100 gold, guaranteed ascended item with 75%chance of getting amulet, rings or accessories, 20% chakce of getting ascended weapon chest drop and 5% chance of getting ascended armor chest drop and third could be anything to be honest bag of superior sigils of superior runes same goes with bonus rewards they couldo be anything as well let’s 25 transmutation charges, black lion ticket, gem store item, literally anything. Also make it that people spend at least for 2 or 3 hours durng those weeks to be eligible for recievung these rewards. This way new blood will come into WvW players will show a lot of interest will makemail match ups fun and the game mode fun.

Need to just go to alliances and even them all out + add a couple tiers. It’s complicated but need to use any data collected on when players play most and try to smooth out the time zones a bit. Need to keep alliances somewhat even as people go inactive + let guilds manage protected wvw alliance spots or something. Maybe inactive loses the spot unless a guild specially protects it (long vacations etc).

Hard to solve but without somewhat smoothing out population and coverage wvw will never work. Leaving the 24/7 format makes it something different and worse imo.

There are other issues after dealing with that. It would probably solve the stale match ups and give wvw a more guild based focus but we would still need balance stuff and fresh maps at the very least.

I’ve yet to find anything close to wvw. It most matches a game I played long ago but it’s better and in greater scope. I have little doubt that newbies will keep trickling in even as vets get ticked off and leave.

Right seriously WvW is the game mode I love and no other game provides a game mode like this well a lot of people are talking about Camelot Unchained but let’s be real the combat system is going to be completely kittening different and I love gw2 combat system I think that is one of the main reasons why people enjoy WvW in gw2.

Hey man we WvWers have to do kitten ton of pve to craft legendaries so I don’t why is there a problem for you to do WvW. We WvWers find pve boring af too but we still have to do it. Also gift of battle is literally 2% of the legendary so if you can’t do 2% WvW then you don’t deserve it.

He did make some good points, while I didn’t agree with all, most is true.

One mention that players in this particular game are cancerous is true, isn’t it for all games though. However, what I find interesting is the hate he gets “good ridden” for example in the forum already.

Various servers hate DK from Yaks Bend, lots loved to hate on T. Bravos FA, I seem to remember one from Darkhaven named Triden or something who would get constant whisper spam, Bannock from SBI days, and the list goes on. Even my awful driving commanding self had experiences on Kaineng when they were last place in wvw of getting constant mails or pms “go kill yourself *”. The level of rage in this game is a bit concerning so I kinda get what the laughing seal guy was talking about. This game can certainly bring out the worst in people.

You know what wvw needs? Guys/gals like the ones mentioned above. We need people to despise. It’s what makes gaming so fun and competitive. But yet, the laughing seals guy posts his honest thoughts and people are already jumping on the “good ridden” train or “what a salty kitten”.

Wvw needs all the players they can hold onto. While you don’t have to like the guy, it’s another loss and people who followed him in his guild/group may be inclined to stop playing the game or reduce their time, thus we all suffer in the community.

I agree with you. Sometimes I also think they should just do a big bang for the servers have 9 servers open let’s people join those sever once those server get full them open new ones and giver everyone one or two free transfers but I can see this creating a lot of problems.

Anet if you haven’t already then please do watch this video and see for yourself why a lot of players are quiting. There are a lot of players out there who are passionate about this game mode but they are all quiting because their voices are not being heard.

Polls are great but seriously tho if you want to make WvW great again I think you listen to passionate players like him and they will tell you how to exactly make WvW great again. HoT was a great expansion for pve and pvp but for WvW not so much. The bullkitten upgrade system we got really kittened a lot of people off. We WvW players do not give a single kitten about those new upgrade system they are literally kitten and promote tower hugging/siege humping. The only WvW upgrades most WvWers literally only care for that 5 and +10. We do not care about those stupid banners, we do not care about if siege 70% less damage, we do not care if gates take damage only from siege, we do not care for the that ,100 power or +100 vitality or +100 precision in our keeps we do not care about it. If you were to revert this upgrade systems and give us something else I can guarantee a lot of players will return to the game. We rather choose what upgrades we want to do in our keeps first and yell at someone if they start to drain supplies I know that was annoying but that made things fun it made players either quit or just log on until one day something similar to WvW type game comes out like Camelot Unchained. Anet beside tweaking the bs upgrades you guys gave us how about just revert them because one day WvW will be completely dead and then you guys are going to have to revert everything to bring players back so how about you just do it now and make us all happy.

Desert borderlands are beautiful bls but they are not meant to be a borderland map that map feels and plays more out like an EBG map. If you want that map to be useful and loved it’s best if you just turn into ebg map and I think a lot of people will actually start enjoying that map. People want to get involved with WvW but there isn’t much there for players to get involved with anymore.

Competitive WvW something that anet never gave a kitten about if they had I think WvW would be still a lot more fun but I guess pvp is all they care about since they “make more money” out of it. I know one of the devs said after every season a lot of WvW players quit well of course they are going to quit because they burnt out. If you make the season 1 month long every 6 months I think a lot of players would stick around and play WvW regularly. Yes the GvG scene something I enjoyed the most someting anet didn’t give a kitten about at all something they actually tried to stop people from doing. GvG scene was literally the most fun part for me out of everything and know a lot of people who missed GvGs but it’s dead you know why? Because all the competitive guilds and players quit the game because anet never gave a kitten about us. I don’t even think anet ever had a WvW team until they started working on ghetto expansion. Bring back season first let new blood flow into WvW let new guilds form and grow then bring in WvW ladder system like PvP. Durong off season guilds will compete each other to get a spot in the on season tournament. Bring back that competitive WvW I bet a lot of skilled players and guilds will come back make GvG a thing have short WvW seasons.

Another thing, remember one reset nights used to be fun? But you guys kittened us over with staturday night reset and then you changed it to the Friday an hour late reset lol yeah revert that too because that kitten is really kittening late for us East Coast players and West coast players don’t even talk about an hour early reset being too early for you guys because serious you got the whole evening to play where us east coast players do not some of us are tired from work or have work the next day so please don’t even. 9pm est reset time and 8pm est reset time with daylight savings was and is and will be perfect.

There are still a lot of passionate players and commanders out there and they all want best for this game mode listen to them anet!! Reach them out personally! Ask them what’s best for WvW I am sure they have amazing ideas to give you guys!

I can’t believe I’m reading this OP. You’re basically asking for an entirely new map. It would take 6+ months for what you’re asking, minimum! And, the Desert skin is a huge turn off itself.

Also, how about that WvW is supposed to be a Competitive RvR game mode??? They should leave T1-2 with 3 Alpines and EBG, then let the other Tiers have whatever they want then. Because it becoming extremely obvious people have lost focus on WvW being built as a competitive RvR platform. You can’t have balance thru dissimilarity. smfh

What part of T1-2 do you think is “competitive”? GvG scene is currently dead but thats a whole different discussion. WvW doesnt only exist in T1-2. If changes are going it should happen to all or none at all and please changing the layout of the map shouldnt take more than a month and few mechanics.

I personally think desert borderland should be just turned into an EBG because of how the towers are layed out and how big the map is. Yes anet will have to do a lot more work on them to turn them into ebg but it probably would be best long term idea.

Change the layout of the keep and one more tower and camp to each side. Put a big castle like smc in the middle of the map or something else(share your ideas down in the comments for what something else could be). Give each tower a shrine not the keep. Let’s say your capture tower #1 now your have access to shrine #1 and now you guys have 40% speed boost available.

I think a lot of people will start enjoying desert borderlands a lot more if it was an EBG map and there is so much empty space in the middle that could literally be used for anything but I think people will prefer a castle like Stonemist.

Arena net maybe take a poll on this and see how community reacts to it??? And then your can rotate current ebg map with Desert ebg every quarterly and leave 3 alpline map alone.

Another thing anet can do is make dragon, centaur and turtle banner through towers in Desent ebg only and remove it from guild hall upgrades because those banners are still annoying. Let’s say one of the shrines around air keep will provide you with with centaur banner but to get access to the shrine and banner you have to capture this tower and same idea goes with dragon banner one of the shrines around fire keep will provide you with dragon banner but to get access both to the shrine and banner you have to capture this tower and same idea also applies to turtle banner.

The catch will be once you pick up the banner the shrine goestrogen down on 3 hour cooldown and there will be 1 of each banner on the map. Let’s team fire with the dragon banner is facing team air with the centaur banner and team fire happened to wipe team air then team fire will be able to pick up the centaur banner but I can see that getting annoying af so you can also put the timer on the banners I guess banners will be available only for one hour each with the 3 hour cooldown on the shrine.

If you choose to put smc in the middle of the map then you guys can do a event 1 time a day during prime time in which SM will go completely neutral and which ever team manages to capture it that team will get 20% bonus points towards their reward track through out the whole day until the next day when the even gets active again.

For me it’s OK but I play almost exclusively WvW and honestly I think for a hardcore WvW player having a large amount of proofs should not be an issue. Right now I have 500 and that is despite spending a lot on siege (and then selling it) as well as getting a lot of elite specs using only proofs.

That is true but I was talking about players who are hardcore WvWers but only get time to get online for two hours a day it’s kinda slow for us imo

EU and NA have separate regional pairings because inter-continental internet links are still not as fast and reliable as intra-continental ones.

Nameplates are unified to one of the linked servers because having more than 3 team names involved in a mathematically 3-way battle will unnecessarily confuse the tactical issue of who is able to damage who.

Well I mean give them a certain name then I guess lol? Like Desolation Coast or something…. half the EU servers are literally empty so 12 EU and 12 NA is the way to go imo

Since gw2 is Blob server againt 1 or 2 empty servers it is already fine.

Siege needs to cost.

Guild catapult are expensive to craft. They take same supply as regular yes they do more damage but they also get destroyed relatively easily. Back in the days when guild catapults was thing I didn’t see many groups spam them and I mainly saw havoc groups using them and doing their thing. Not having easy access to +5 was a killer for havoc groups but so was the supply cost increase for guild catapults and I think you have to upgrade your guild hall before you even have access to them? And they sell for about 2 gold each on tp? So please get a better argument than a blob spamming them + you can max of 5 sieve in one spot.

Have 12 EU server and 12 NA and link them together and see how well it works? Or just try to link EU+NA ppt? Let’s say if anet decides to link the servers I don’t think there should be a host server you should literally just have let’s say Tarnished Coast+Desolation(just an example don’t go crazy) to enemy the players from Deso will be shown as Desolation Soldier and players from TC will be shown as Tarnished Coast soldier. If this way doesn’t work then have different instances? People from TC players in one instance and people from Deso in the other instance but on score board it will be shown as Tarnished Coast+Desolation and PPT will be linked so will the kdr and stuff. I think it can help with night capping other issues that are currently in WvW. Hell it can make WvW season so much fun a lot of players might return and it can also create GvG scene again.

Dh pugs are fayweather af for. Everything DH starts going up and winning the pugs come back. Once DH starts loosing all of them pugs and their mothers go into hiding. The recruitment on DH has always been pale af especially after the server merging. First week of merging was okay wasn’t as bad as it is now. For me to keep my guild alive I had to make the move and transfer us off. Recruitment on DH is pale for guilds to stay alive they need players new blood DH has always struggled to provide that. I have seen a lot of guilds transfer to DH and died because no recruitment. That’s why a lot of guilds have already left or will leave if there’s still any guild left other than TAG.

If you have two servers paired together that are forming a massive bandwagon then merging the two servers together will only make matters worse. I don’t care how you try to argue the point, but making the pair permanent will not fix the balance issue. The only way to stop servers from abusing the system is to unlink the newly fat bandwagon servers and pair them with an appropriate, smaller server that could use them.

“But it will hurt my guild!” You should have thought of that before you started poaching players from the linked server knowing full well that they would eventually be paired with somebody else.

“We built a community!” No, you didn’t. It’s been a month. It’s nothing special. I’ve had closer ties with the toilet paper I wipe with and flush.

“Relinking servers makes me fight a guild I previously played with!” This happened all the time before linking was even a thing. You should be use to it.

There is absolutely no good reason to merge servers as opposed to switching/evening pairs whenever some have very clearly been stacked. Saying a blobwagon server should be permanently merged together is absurd and outright wrong. Again, if people really want to game the system they should have to pay the gems every month when the two stacked servers are separated. It’s Anet’s chance to finally step in and fix what people simply don’t care about: balancing. If you want to mindlessly blob ktrain, pay up.

As we all know major issue with server linking is transferring. A lot of people have transfered for t4 to upper tier but then again there are some people who want to transferase to upper tier because tier 4 is literally kitten right now. With linking servers server stacking is still a thing and there is no other way to avoid that but merging server. You merge servers put a population cap on the server and boom have total of 12 servers but do that after relinking the servers because tier 4 loosing players everyday! But again’t anet y’all aren’t gonna do that becuase you guys will loose all that money you make out of transfer lel.

Hi guys, I just wanted to respond to a few concerns:

Why does this poll need a 75% majority?

  • Honestly, we had a difficult time deciding if this poll should be decided by a simple majority, rather than a super majority. When we first decided to start polling, the team decided that whenever we are making a major change to the existing game, that change should require 75% of the community to agree to it. We wanted to avoid anything close to a 51/49 split. Mixed Borderlands definitely falls under the category of a major change to the existing game. However, what made the decision harder, was that polling only started relatively recently. Had this poll existed 6 months ago, before we ever started rotating borderlands, it likely would have been decided by a simple majority instead.

Why does this poll not have an option to remove the Desert Borderlands?

  • As per the above, we require 75% to make a major change (like permanently removing DBL.) If we try to ask two, or more, 75% questions in a single poll neither is likely to achieve that requirement.
  • Prior to this poll, the community reaction to the Desert Borderlands had seemed much more positive. Forum posts approved of the changes we had made to the map in the April 19th release, and were largely in agreement that the map had noticeably improved.
  • We believed that those that were hostile to Desert would be less so if the Mixed Borderlands feature allowed Alpine to live in harmony with Desert, rather than replacing it for 3 months. So we wanted to provide this option before creating a poll about removing DBL altogether.

What’s next?

  • We’ll poll the community to see if at least 75% of them would like to see the Desert Borderlands permanent removed. This won’t be next weeks poll, but likely the week after that.
  • If players vote to remove DBL, then the results of this poll will be void (as we’ll only have one borderlands map.) Otherwise, we’ll move forwards with the results of this poll.

Why not put a option to completely change the map design for desert borderland and turn it into another ebg map and rotate it between current ebg map every quarterly and leave the three alplines map there untouched until you guys make another better borderland map which will actually play out like alpline strategically and everything else.

Doing GvGs, raiding with my GvG guilds and finding other GvG guilds on the WvW battlefield is the best fun I’ve had with this game. I will always remember the Anet guy telling us we couldn’t GvG at the Windmill. As if capturing empty objectives for a useless PPT system is more interesting than skilled fights between groups of friends.

It’s a complete missed opportunity that Anet never supported GvG guilds, the reason I’ve moved on and will just probably never come back

Even if the WvW overhaul they’ve been working on for “over a year” end up not being just a few tiny changes I don’t see the GvG community rebuilding itself to play on the same Alpine BL map that isn’t even as interesting as before the orbs were removed.

Seriously tho they can still implement a ladder system with gvg tourney in wvw season and try it out because everything’s is in “beta” right now. You never know how many guilds out there or players that would be interested in doing this
