lol wat? mesmer can 1shot nobody even with bers amulet. Warriors F1 axe deal the same damage as full shatter combo
Mesmer/Thief combo is op because of their broken damage.
Especially Mesmer damage is broken while thief fits more the mobility role.

I like celestial the way it is. Very nice for those who like making use of all their skills. There should be a reward for using a balanced approach. Lopsided builds (too much DPS to too much Armour) should end up loosing so a well played balanced build.

Why not just decrease the number of might stacks a blast finisher gives you in pvp? That’s a much simpler solution imo

Fair point actually, even if teamed versus two might stackers in Celestial, why not bring a friend who is good at removing boons?
because all boon strips are on relative long cd while might stacking spells not, besides stripping boons doesn’t necessary favors might over other boons

First of all, I’ll admit that I play a turret Engineer in PvP. I’m not good at PvP, it’s one of the few things I can play where I don’t feel like I’m dragging my team down unfairly.
-Tons of damage from a single passive proc (Incendiary powder), so people can’t outplay most of your damage since you’ll hit them with it whether they dodge or not
Huh? I was supposed to take that trait? Can someone explain to me how it’s so overpowered? When I picked traits, it seemed… unimportant to what I was going for.
burning with the right build is the strongest condi, ticks for more dmg than some AA and you can dodge only so many AA with IP proc
most of my deathes come from 20k+ burning dmg
i don’t think however you would use IP with turret build

thieves run zerker because it is all they can run, they can’t just go hybrid bunker with celestial/might stacking like eles/engis/wars or stack passive (sup nightmare runes necro)…. surely there is p/d but it is worthless and still dies fast
people don’t run zerker because of thieves, they run bunkerish builds because of game mode….
thieves hardcounter other zerker builds as much as other zerker builds hardcounter them, it is literary all about who catches whom off guard
if this game had other game modes that didn’t promote sit on point and stare at enemy for the rest of the game, maybe people would play zerker builds

I think it’s client-side. I don’t run into the problem on my laptop, while I do run into it running off my school desktops.
At first, I thought it had to do with graphics settings, but that shouldn’t affect rounding and calculations, so logically it would have to be something else client-related.
Just some food for thought.
anet did say it is related to how game handles latency… i guess they changed something when they tried to fix immob bug and now it messes up all port/movement spells

the joke is celestial amy supposed to offer less for each stat but it doesn’t
compare it to zerker, celestial gives almost as much ferocity as zerker and more vitality for example… given vitality is not exactly zerker amulet strengh but it should give more ferocity than zerker
also it works waaaayyyy too good with hybrids given them basically double dmg and double survival compared to classes that can focus only on direct dmg or condis…
add might stacking, no wonder everyone and their mother runs cele engis/wars/eles
either hybrids need to be nerfed (which won’t happen) or celestial amy + might stacking needs to be nerfed in pvp

In hindsight though, makes sense. + two classes make up a significant portion of the profession balance.
Rarely do I ever see thieves complain outside of their own profession. Wars, on the otherhand, tend to complain that they need more DPS or CC more than they complain about other professions. It is usually the other professions that complain.
EDIT: Actually the reason why you don’t see warr/thief QQ alot is because war being OP is a given to the community and thieves are leaving their profession and hopping on war or guard.
People would be surprised how much kitten we have to do just to stay alive on the battlefield. Feel free to hop on War and give walking around with a “cannot disengage” target on your back a try.

if you declined the queue, you get dropped from the queue while other players are still in queue…. in some games there is also time punishment if you queued for too many matches in short time and decline them

I’d say Mesmer, Engineer and Elementalist feel the most mechanically intensive, but all 3 classes are capable of running builds that reduce that intensity significantly.
I personally find Thief, Warrior and Guardian the least mechanically intensive.

Celestial is fine, self high might stack is the problem.
Ele and war can reach easily 20+ stack might! engi celestial, without a fire field, only 10 more or less.
Nerfing sigil of battle could help, but imho finding a way to buff less might by on their own would be better.
Maybe give classes more access to boon removal or stealing, would be nice.
that would be huge nerf to guardians, they would be unplayable probably

I might support your claim if Engineers had better access to stun breakers/stability and condi removal on par with other classes. However, we do not and likely may never have those joys.
Turret engineers are certainly difficult to deal with, but they do not have much of a place in team arenas, and most experienced players in solo arenas can adjust their play accordingly to deal with them.

Thief hate, it’s all just human psychology.
A mesmer can down you from full health with one combo. Engi doesn’t even need to use wep skill to down a squishie. Guard gs 5,4 + 2 and few people are downed. The currently hated rapid fire can down you from full HP as well.
Most skills/combos show up in combat log as a bunch of small hits.
Killshot/evis that hit hard as a single skill are not as hated as backstab. You can see them, you can react to the actual attacks. It gives the target hope that he might be able to avoid those attacks. All his utitlies on cd, endurance low, HP low but still he can see the attack coming and try to avoid it.
Then there is backstab.
It’s the opposite of all the above.
Unseen, high damaging attack delivered into the target’s back. It’s creepy and feeds people’s paranoia.
A thief stealths up, you don’t know if he ran away, he could be harvesting a nearby node (I sometimes do while SR is up and that zerg failed to aoe bomb my SR. I don’t waste time). If I do that when fighting someone just as my stealth is about to wear off, ooooo that rage when they see me mining bronze ore while they try their best to kill me.
I stealth up. All that goes through my target’s mind is the backstab. I can tell from how widly he keeps turning around that he can feel my breath on his back. I can deliver my attack now or just wait a little longer or even CnD again.
It’s up to me to prolong the uncertainty.
Backstabbing someone is a play of no honour, of course thieves deserve to be hated.

as far as stealth goes, i tend to lose it when i drop refuge and my rockdog hits someone with nightmare runes casuing me and the dog to run in fear and reveal me at the same time O_o (would need to test it properly though, so don’t take me by word)

d/p trickery is fine (BESIDES AGGRAVATING BUGS ÖLJKAWgöejr#höljrztlökjhtzöljkölztukjföluzrkölrzköljkurzöljukölzukölj!!!!!!!!!!!), the problem is celestial amulet + might stacking allowing certain classes to be able to fill every role at the same time… they are not just pushing thieves out of meta but some other classes/builds (see guards) as well
i don’t think that thieves need buff in that sense (besides some QoL changes) more like celestial+ might stacking needs to go from pvp
oh and as side note, attempt to nerf BP caused me to use 2 BP instead of 1 when i stomp someone… /slowclap

In 8-9 months we will see more buffs to stuff like traps, and a couple of traits, obviously accompanied by more nerfs to stealth and dps.
If you wanna punish yourself playing this profession for another 8-9 months and see it get even worse, it’s your call.
Now days I play Gw2 and HS wile in queue for another game.
It is as good as solitaire…
