I think they just want to nerf the stuns, it’s ridiculous at the moment and warriors who are defending want to keep it as easy as possible. The stunning is the issue and the access to it. It shouldn’t be that only one class in the entire game (maybe 2 if you cant a perma blind thief) is able to go toe to toe with this class. It is ALL stuns, the whole mesmer build that Burr linked is based around mitigating the stun because the lockdown is huge. You guys got your damage, you got your heals, you got your damage soaking tools, but the stun access is just over the top, anybody defending that is just selfish.
If that’s the case then let’s simply slot every class with teleports/3 stun breaks that are useful and not just kitten utilities that happen to also be stun breaks (ranger is a good example of this btw), stealth and blinds/aegis on a smooth rotation – to the warriors defending the current state of them, do you think that would be fine?
Linking to one mesmer build, which mesmers have been known to dominate warrior before and after these patches isn’t anything new, they have the most overpowered and useful utiltiies latched to stun breaks in the game next to thieves.
Sorry, the stunning is ridiculous in PvP AND WvW.
Yes, its getting nerfed. Which will also reduce our ability to critical greatly which is also a big damage nerf.
However the problem is, people want to also nerf our healing (even though we are vulnerable to poisons because we have no passive condition removal.) also nerf our ability to escape and our only way to absorb damage.

Blasting Staff
Area attacks with staff are larger, wielding a Staff in your main hand grants 10% additional damage and up to 280 power (based on level).

Would love if these ideas were implemented

Can we have Recolored T3 Cultural Weapons with Dark Red Crystal (Instead of Light Blue.) And Deadwood Brown and Green instead of Lightwood Green?
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
I don’t like this change as it doesn’t help non-condition sword builds at all.
10% crit chance on the other hand does as crits trigger Bleed from both your trait and Sigil of Earth, but also helps non-condition sword builds.I do agree with the lower skill recharge tho.
Its not suppost to be a end all be all super upgrade.
280 Condition Damage is a lot to other classes, but not very much for the sword since it only mainly bleeds. However the -20% would help a lot.

I hate Blue, almost every awesome plant weapon in the game is blue.
Well, blue and Green.

The reason why swords seem like such UP weapons is because of how condis work right now.
Its much more beneficial for you to apply condis while kiting your target. You can’t do that if you’re melee. Melee condis are balanced atm.
Ranged condis need a nerf…and its slowly happening.
You can’t really nerf it, since it mostly comes from autoattacks and conditions are a set trademarked thing.
However, I think the trait should be buffed to 280 condition damage, and the sword ’3’s autoattack chain should cripple and apply poison.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Ehh, I’d be nervous about buffing warrior condi. It’s pretty strong single target.
Also sword is totally viable in a power build, it’s just overshadowed by mace atm.
Offhand sword+flurry? Nope.
It kinda sucks single target. . . Lol.
Riposte hits up to 3, but the damage is a joke
Flurry hits up to 3 but again, the damage is a joke
Rip – 1sec casttime seriously? I can get more of AA during that time.If i say flurry sux i keep getting repleis that its not – bc its has immo.. Ok it has immo, but why do u cancel it? Go figure trolls.
Rest is viable
Would you wanna see a trait that adds 280 Condition Damage, or 280 Power to the Sword?
Condi dmg, sword is placed in crit/condi dmg tree, and actually it has +10% crit chance
Yeah, but I can’t really use the sword as a Condi weapon, due to the fact it only has 1 condition and another temporary condition.
Necromancer’s weapons for example are ranged so I don’t need to be in the fray, and deal even more damage.

you could have said Writ of Merciful instead of AH and EM…
Yes, but I wanted the Guardians to all have that trait so I could see how much they healed for as well.
I wanted to see if the symbols all healed/Might went up to 25 stacks and they were all standing on each others symbols to make themselves have big heals as well as Writ of the Merciful healing all of them.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
As much as standing on top of 4 any other classes -.-
The other 4 classes can’t make 4 other symbols to proc http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Writ_of_the_Merciful
As I said before, I know. Saying the same thing 50 times is kind of trolling.

Can you please give the new TA weapons a pretty plant weapon trail (basicly dark vines that extend from the weapon when you swing it.)
The glow is a little weird, I hate particle effects and glows, I would much rather have a pretty plant trail.

Boons applied to the Guardian from other professions do not heal the Guardian. Only the Boons a Guardian with the trait applies heals the Guardian.
Say, Warrior A applies Might + Fury to Guardian B who has Altruistic Healing. Guardian B does not get healed.
Guardian C applied protection + regen to Guardian B, when both of Altruistic Healing. Guardian C is healed but Guardian B isn’t.
Guardian B uses Hallowed Ground and everyone is standing it. He gets healed for AH X 5 each second but no one else does.
Now the Symbol’s healing might stack, you could try that
I know that. As I said before. I just want to see how much healing they could all get with those traits and standing on top of each other and facerolling content.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
It heals as much as it does with 1 guardian and 4 other classes. There you have it.
No, if guardians stack with there symbols with the heals allies trait and stack together. Then each one heals the guardian.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Writ_of_the_Merciful
I also wanna see how easy it is to get 25 stacks of might for all the guardians.

There is already a thread here about this subject.
Sigil of Paralization is getting fixed, which will lower this builds effectiveness by 1/3, which is quite big.
For once I agree, I always thought it was odd that they never fixed the sigil.
Hammer builds will lose a lot of DPS because currently my combo is:
Earthshaker —> Fierce Blow --> Backbreaker —> Staggering Blow…but with the Sigil fix I’ll have to go right to Backbreaker, which means it’s much less likely that Fierce Blow will crit.
When Sigil of Paralization gets fixed.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil_of_Impact will be nerfed by 50%.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Unsuspecting_Foe will be nerfed by 40%.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shield_Bash will be nerfed by 50%.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Earthshaker will be nerfed by 40%.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skull_Crack will be nerfed by 33%.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Whirling_Strike will be nerfed by 40%.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Melandru will be buffed by 33%.
Backbreaker and Staggering Blow were never stuns, so it never gave you any critical chance. However they are fixing it so the Sigil does not work with these as well.

It doesn’t matter if same 5 people ran the same build because AH is independent of each other. You can have four other monkeys there and what you’ll get from AH heal remain the same.
I don’t care.
You have said that like 10 times. I just wanted to see how much healing they could all get.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Isn’t the internet great. Nice guy + anonymity = jerk
I think Daec knows how it works, its a matter of how he’s communicating it.
Word problem Daec,
2 AH Hammer guardians in a group with 3 other melee. All stacked together in symbol range. No other boons are thrown other than protection from Hammer. No other heals are applied. Noone crits. *Guard A is running Writ of Persistence, Guard B is not.
How many AH heals does Guard A get per auto attack chain?
How many AH heals does Guard B get per auto attack chain?
How many AH heals do the other 3 melee get per auto attack chain?
I was just asking how much it could heal for if 5 people literally ran the same build.

just to clarify, AH only heals the Guardian for each boon that that same Guardian applies to himself or any of his allies.
so me and me Guardian buddy each lay down a different symbol and we’re dancing around in ‘em. he gets heals for the boons he applies on himself and me. i get heals for the boons i apply on myself and him. but i don’t get heals for the boons from his symbol that are placed on me.
so there would be no “stacking” with AH, if that’s what i think you mean, OP.
[edit: for clarity]
No, I meant to imply that you stack on each other so your giving the allies boons.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
He thinks each guardian heals everyone in party with AH, and also get heal from AH for each boon the party members get, even if they didn’t apply the boon.
If they both have AH
Per Guardian with Altruistic Healing
guardian who has AH those two boons (gasp) and also heal him!
I think I just proved you wrong.
Now please think before you you think about making fun of someone else, do so intelligently.
I’ve always implied that all guardians involved have the trait. The devil is in the details, and I think you should go back to school and learn a bit more about them.

At least revamp the minor traits…
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
This just proves the fact that Elementalist needs to be easier to play
You need traits that well… specialize in 1-2 attunements, but have amazing traits like this!
Drastically Improves the Fire Attunement, completely locks out Air.
Drastically Improves the Water Attunement, completely locks out Earth.
Drastically Improves the Air Attunement, completely locks out Fire.
Drastically Improves the Earth Attunement, completely locks out Water.Earth should be focused on Condition Damage/Reducing Damage. (Bleeding Damage/Confusion Damage/Protection.)
Water should be focused on Power Damage/Healing. (Vulnerability/Weaknesss/Power Damage/Healing.)
Fire should be Condition Damage/Condition Removal and Control. (Burning, Power, Condition Control. (Remove conditions/cure for each one removed.).
Air Should be Burst/Critical Damage/Daze and Crowd Control.
This way you can have 1 offensive/1 defensive option and more then several viable builds due to different weapon sets.
You propose to kill the one mechanic that makes the ele the unique? really?? I don’t want it to be easier to play, I like it as it is, challenging (As I say here)
Then you won’t be getting any buffs. Lol.
I didn’t ask for that mechanic to die, I asked it to be simplified. You don’t have to take those traits and be just as you are now.
X/X/X/X/30.

I’m not here to be mean or a downer, but yeah AH only heals the guardian giving the boons. It’s just worded kinda weird on the wiki. Sorry man.

You’re using 60 points (there are 70 points total). AH does not stack as I mentioned in the other thread. You and ONLY you, ONLY get healed from the boom you applied yourself.
I know, the challenge was that they must use these traits.
I left the other ones blank for them to pick.

Triggers healing for every boon applied. Applying area-of-effect boons will trigger healing for each ally affected (including yourself) and skills that apply boons repeatedly over time, such as symbols, will trigger healing with each pulse.

I don’t think you understand.
AH is the best PvE Trait in the entire game.
For lazy baddies, yes.
You’re using 60 points for a build, you think AH “stacks” and heal multiple party members. Just stop.
Your not reading what i’m saying, so I will just ignore you.
Holy crap are you blind? THEY DON’T STACK! YOU DON’T GET HEALED WHEN ANOTHER GUARD TRIGGERS HIS AH.
Let me spell it out for you since you obviously don’t understand.
When a Guardian uses Symbol of Protection, it gives Protection and does damage, which can critical and also give Might. (gasp)
Those are two boons which affect all allies, which means it could give another guardian who has AH those two boons (gasp) and also heal him!

K first of all, EM is independent of AH, so high crit build with fast attack rate buffs might MUCH more compare to the slow hammer attacks with lower crit rate. And why aren’t you using the other 10 points?
AH is NOT a party wide heal and only heals the one with it. I don’t think you know how this works.
We’re not talking about tanking zerg in WvW, OP is asking about PvE. And my point is that you don’t need the heal from AH in PvE and it just serves as a crutch for lazy players.
I don’t think you understand.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Symbol_of_Protection
Have 5 Guardians all using that build with Symbol of Protection alone, you Heal all your allies, each critical giving them Might.
That is 3-5 Might stacks and 5 Protection boons per second.
70 × 5 × 5 = 1750 Per Guardian with Altruistic Healing. Now lets say all 5 of those symbols also healed allies, that is an extra 535, which is 2285 Hp/S per second, not counting the healing skill or virtues.

(edited by Daecollo.9578)
28’ Toughness? What are you talking about?
I was talking about traits that reduce weapon’s skill cooldown on Mesmer. Some of them give also a 50 stat bonus, not 280 or 250.
Oh.
I was just gonna say. 250 Condition Damage isn’t that good because Sword only has one condition, sides Torment.
Other classes have many conditions.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
If another guardian is in your group with AH its fun.
Why? AH does nothing for you but the guard himself.
2 Hammer Guardians.
0/0/30/30/0
Each Time each criticals, they get 1 stack of might, they also get a protection buff.
If they both have AH, it heals them both and stacks up.
If you have 5 hammer warriors on top of each other using that build, it is basicly 700 hp/s for Altruistic Healing alone, per guardian. It has no internal cool-down.
Also you have to realize each symbol is also healing each guardian, so that is even more healing.
I remember a video of guardians using someone to tank an entire zerg with this build.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Errr, not at all. Mesmer’s “weapon traits” give 50 bonus stat, not 250, that would be too much.
Imho the 10% critical rate is fine but it needs the cooldown reduction too, I asked for that long time ago and they added it to all weapons except Sword, it was left out during that patch.About the poison… Hmm… Personally, after the Leg Specialist nerf, having 1s Cripple is useless to me. A 1s Poison would be interesting.
I want the weapon sets trait to be buffed a bit myself. However Toughness is a very powerful stat for Mesmers. 280 toughness is a LOT better then 280 condition damage to a mesmer.
50 Toughness is probably as much as 280 condition damage would give you as a sword for warrior.

This idea is too focused on condition damage. I liked bri’s ideas. Bri has a thread on this already. Also, 10% damage is a little iffy. You seen fully buffed ranger offhands? Mega DPS son. Don’t need 10% on top of God like DPS.
I’d say overall not bad ideas just too specific for one purpose (beastmaster / condis)
It will let people use it for power while still having decent condition damage.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
You’re throwing 30 points into Valor that, outside of small toughness buff, do nothing for your ally. It’s a selfish trait.
Define “high”, because it certainly is relative.
If another guardian is in your group with AH its fun.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Why precision? I realize it will “help” both offensive setups, but staff is innately a support/defensive weapon, not offensive.
All weapons are offensive. Kind of the reason to have a weapon in the first place.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Don’t think that will help anything.
The staff have almost no power skill so it doesn’t help much. Power user mostly use it for the utilities.
For condition user, prec doesn’t help much either because of the unspammable properties of those skills.
Just my opinion.
More bleed procs due to criticals.
More power damage due to criticals.

Been running lots of CoF, SE, AC this weekend in mostly rares and haven’t had much problem with survivability at all. As someone who’s new to the class, instead of “elitist”, I can confirm that AH is just that, a crutch.
You’re making a lot of assumptions. AH traits don’t mean they have to gear towards non dps.
A guard can trait for AH and still wear full zerk gear and do high dps.
Yep.
The best Dungeon group I’ve ever done with 3 AH Hammer Zerker Guardians.. We literally never died once and just melted things.
With the Tough/Heavy Armor/Perma Regen/Protection they were still very tanky.

This is an idea to improve the hybrid weapon for the Necromancer, staff.
Staff Mastery
Staff skills recharge 20% faster. Wielding a staff additionally grants 280 precision (OR POWER). (based on level).
This allows Staff to improve its hybrid-ability as a Power and Condition weapon, since it has effects that affect both. Precision fits nicely because it helps power and condition users and just seems to fit the weapon itself.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
(edited by Daecollo.9578)
This is an Idea for Honed Axes!
Honed Axes
- Wielding an axe in your main hand grants 10% additional damage and up to 250 condition damage (based on level).
This helps it improve itself as a Hyrid Weapon and increases the Conditon Damage portion of the abilities, so the Ranger does not have to limit himself so much in stats.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
