Can you please make Asura Bigger/Give them the same animations as humans in SPVP only? Its quite ridiculous how much of an advantage they have over other races.

I can’t even tell if they are using an attack, or dodging. It looks exactly the same, the particle effects also drown them out.

Its worse then fighting Oddjob in goldeneye.

Think about what you just said…no really, think about it and then hit your head on your desk a couple of times.

Anyways, this should be an option in EVERY game – who the hell cares what people wear. Heck, some heavy armor in this game looks like leather…some light looks like medium…etc, etc.

Actually when I mixed armor (prepatch) before they removed the option. I had no problems with clipping. Except on a very few sets.

It shouldn’t be that big of a deal.

I feel that currently, I like the hardness of the fight. However right now the fight is just not worth the risk. You heard me right, the fight is just pointless, soon nobody will do this unless its nerfed to the ground.

Why? It has the same horrible drop-rate as it did before, and its only 100 times harder. I will just do other easier world events.

What should you do about it?
First of all, make the kill REWARDING…

Um… I sure hope that those percentages are at event fail/success, rather than cumulative. Because in the latter case, you’d be looking at an average of 2.5 chests per successful killing, which is ridiculous.

Also, all of your numbers have the premise that the player only wants 1 stat. Most people have alts with different specs, so a lot of the weapons would actually find use. Personally, I could use Berserker/Valkyrie/Soldier/Assassin/Cavalier/Sentinel on my Warrior and I could probably go for a condi spec on some other character with Dire/Rabid/Rampager/Shaman/Settler/Apothecary. That puts me at 12/17. And I only have 2 lvl 80 characters.

Maybe they could get the stat they don’t want?

A token system would be far more rewarding then what I proposed.

Not a programmer of any sort, but this is probably a looot more difficult than you think.

I mean, we can’t preview armor like that already, there has to be a reason for that.

Also, as a WvWer, noope. Don’t want a half naked female human in a dress walk up to me before pulling out a huge hammer and smashing me to death.

It doesn’t matter in WvWvW because models can be turned so they are generic.

If you don’t want that. There is an option for it.

This costs 400 gems per and allows you to use any armor (Light/Medium/Heavy) to make it fit any appearance.

It will make you able to use heavy armor appearance for light armor, and light armor appearance for heavy, ect ect.

Most of the ascended weapons are worse then there exotic counterparts, You have a 1 in 17 chance to get Berserker Stats for example.

That sounds way to much like a Guardian Ability though, Charge should be offensive.

It goes well with FGJ, that was the intention.

Anything offensive buffs on it would make it basically identical to FGJ anyways.

Well, specialize in 1-2 attunements, but have amazing traits like this.

Drastically Improves the Fire Attunement, completely locks out Air.
Drastically Improves the Water Attunement, completely locks out Earth.
Drastically Improves the Air Attunement, completely locks out Fire.
Drastically Improves the Earth Attunement, completely locks out Water.

Earth should be focused on Condition Damage/Reducing Damage. (Bleeding Damage/Confusion Damage/Protection.)

Water should be focused on Power Damage/Healing. (Vulnerability/Weaknesss/Power Damage/Healing.)


Fire should be Condition Damage/Condition Removal and Control. (Burning, Power, Condition Control. (Remove conditions/cure for each one removed.).

Air Should be Burst/Critical Damage/Daze and Crowd Control.

This way you can have 1 offensive/1 defensive option.

There is a reason for that, because of having 20 abilities many of them could miss and just not care, you had more ways to do the same thing then any other class.

They brought that down all around and now they are bad.

They should limit it to 10 abilities like the other classes and then they can improve it.

So you want to completely change the nature of the class because you think it’s too complicated? Haha, okay, I think this discussion is over.

Ele should have attunement cooldowns removed and balanced accordingly (putting cooldowns on proc swaps).

This would actually make Ele’s harder to play instead of just rotating through cooldowns mindlessly, you’d actually be able to use cooldowns when you need them like Engy’s can.

At the very least put 5 second cooldowns on em.

They can’t balance that way, because that means an ele will be at 50% advantage to other classes at the very start. If they reset the fight they will still keep that power.

Only way to do it is to improve the abilities of one attunement while locking out another attunement entirely.

For example, improving air’s abilities significantly (making RTL Prenerf, making skills do more damage and lower CDs.).

Then locking out the fire attunement entirely.

Don’t ask for class improvements if you don’t want your class being dumped down, because they are not going to improve the classes abilities when you have access to all of them at once. It would mean casual players would be /decent/ while really good players who can manage all four become /god-mode/.

You can’t ask for improvements when you already have complexity. Something has to dump, and I’m right, most eles actually do only play 2 attunements, because they can’t manage the class very well.

Don’t ask for class improvement when you have complexity? You realize that those two things are completely un-connected. What you’re saying makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. There was a point when eles were absolute top tier. They are now absolute bottom tier. You don’t have to completely change the nature of the class to find a middle ground. The complexity is fine how it is, and casual players who don’t like the complexity should not be playing this class. That’s really all there is to it.

You got it in your head that elementalist has to be this BA class that only a few people can play.

Most elementalists stay in 1-2 attunements.

Elementalist needs new traits that make you want to stay in 1-2 attunements only, and lock out 1-2 attunements as well giving them a stat boost of some kind.

This is hands down the worst post regarding eles that I have ever seen.

Couple things… I don’t think that most eles stay in 1-2 attunements, but the ones that do are awful. I’m going to reiterate that if you want to stay in one or two attunements then ele is absolutely not the class for you. It’s a difficult class to play and should remain that way. It has a lot of minutiae and is incredibly difficult to master. If you start dumbing down the class, then you are taking away the very thing that makes it fun to play.

Please, please, go play some other class. You’ll have a better time, trust me.

Elementalist like BM Ranger followed a Rotation, and its not difficult.

But anyway, I think people are confusing things.

If you slap on a Shortbow and run around and shoot the number 1 key, Its viable in a zerg fight.. Its very easy to play, but is it effective in anything but that instance? Not really…Really no different from a Zerker Rifle Warrior.

Take a P/D thief, This actually requires just as little thought as a Shortbow Ranger…

But does anyone here think either of those classes are remotely easier to play than a Mace/Shield and Greatsword Warrior right now?

Nope..They’re about the same level of skill required, only one is a 100x more effective.

What about a Condition Necromancer, Is that a really hard class to play? not really.

D/D elementalist might have a lot of abilities to play, But again like the BM Ranger its not rocket science, Its a Rotation that you follow.

The difference between a D/D Elementalist/BM Ranger and a Shortbow Ranger is Rotation and that’s simply it.

None of them require a lot of thought.

Actually the Skullcrack War is pretty hard to play. Its simply but you have to be careful where you land. You can miss and mess up pretty easily and your enemy can see it coming as soon as they see the mace.

I trash most Mace Wars.

There is a major difference between Simple and Easy.

There is nothing remotely hard about playing a skullcrack warrior.

Only you would find it remotely challenging to play.

Shouts should remain support.

If anything, they should buff Physical skills. They are the CC/interrupts of the warrior.

Nobody cares about physical skills, they are basicly “Arcane.” skills except worthless.

Elementalist like BM Ranger followed a Rotation, and its not difficult.

But anyway, I think people are confusing things.

If you slap on a Shortbow and run around and shoot the number 1 key, Its viable in a zerg fight.. Its very easy to play, but is it effective in anything but that instance? Not really…Really no different from a Zerker Rifle Warrior.

Take a P/D thief, This actually requires just as little thought as a Shortbow Ranger…

But does anyone here think either of those classes are remotely easier to play than a Mace/Shield and Greatsword Warrior right now?

Nope..They’re about the same level of skill required, only one is a 100x more effective.

What about a Condition Necromancer, Is that a really hard class to play? not really.

D/D elementalist might have a lot of abilities to play, But again like the BM Ranger its not rocket science, Its a Rotation that you follow.

The difference between a D/D Elementalist/BM Ranger and a Shortbow Ranger is Rotation and that’s simply it.

None of them require a lot of thought.

Actually the Skullcrack War is pretty hard to play. Its simply but you have to be careful where you land. You can miss and mess up pretty easily and your enemy can see it coming as soon as they see the mace.

I trash most Mace Wars.

There is a major difference between Simple and Easy.

Conditions should hit for full duration in DMG if the cap is stacked.

That should be the punishment for hitting the bleed cap.

Burning should stack up to 25 on buildings and do the same.

Have you ever played a game like Lineage 2 with big open world bosses (Antharas, Baium, Lilith)? Those required alliances of guilds to take down, aka hundreds of organized players. Tequatl is like these bosses. He’s not content designed to be facerolled.

Do you honestly think the people who have killed him before are going through the trouble to forge alliances, coordinate dozens of players from various guilds, to take on a 15min bossfight that might very well still fail.

Just for a regular boss chest, with a very small chance of a reskinned ascended weapon? Yeah, im thinking, nope.
And im willing to bet those big world bosses from LA2 did infact drop some pretty big-deal items. Am i wrong?

Antharas/Baium etc dropped boss-specific jewelry items which were considered among the best items in the game. I absolutely support increasing the rewards for Tequatl INSTEAD of nerfing him, but I do think the OP’s suggested rewards are excessive.

They really just want the mob nerfed so its easy-mode. Something is gonna give and I fear they are just going to nerf it.

Nobody is going to bother forming a raid for a 0.005% chance of good loot.

They will kill it once for achievement, then never do it again.

I feel like it is easier to balance the elementalist to the other classes than bring them down to our level. So I don’t see the fine devs at Arenanet balancing team putting in the effort to do that.

15 min timer = item/chest/box rewards with chance for ascended
defeated after timer = karma/silver/dragonite

This way there is incentive to kill within the 15 min timer, but still reward enough to make it appealing for groups that can’t get him down in the timer.

Would rather do a dungeon, better rewards.

Then why are we still debating the issue, if you’ve decided not to do the Elite content?

No, you’re asking for a reward increase for not even succeeding the event. I’m saying that it’s not fair to us who actually work hard at challenging content. That’s not elitism, that’s common sense.

Its worth more doing 1 run of COF P1 then killing Tequatl.
