It has gotten to the point where I don’t even kill them, its better to leave them half dead so they respawn, its not like they have any cool-downs or anything or help the team.

Is there anything you can do to help thieves in SPVP? They don’t do as much sustained damage and they have almost no staying power and limited mobility. I laugh every time I see a thief on my time, each match is starting to get like this.

Most thieves can’t even hurt me. Most of there damage is a total joke and they are annoying and just warp in and out of the battle.

((There was another thief in the match, but he pretty much left.))

Only way to fix unload is to make it do something like burn people and make it an aoe. When it bounces from the trait, it should burn people again or something.

yes i know. and it stems from players inability to….well just think…..they already dumbed the game down about 80% to increase target consumers. now they complain about invis and revealed not being long enough.

and tbh looking at it from a mathematical PoV…..decreasing dmg 33% or so and making NO revealed debuff actually increases outgoing dmg during a fight maybe double or tripple. even if u took 75% of outgoing dmg away a good thief will still win without a revealed buff.

Well, they need to change the way stealth works so you can see the thief if your right infront of him, but increase stealth a bit and remove revealed and lower damage. More active gameplay.

Also, remove the “Shadowed Protectors” Regeneration limit, it makes boon duration a debuff. Maybe even turn it back into “Protection” like it used to be.

Sorry but I don’t really agree with this at all. I can see this ending up with players doing backstab – C&D – backstab over and over again, being only visible for milliseconds. And this is only the first thing that came to mind. But this post is more about the difference in timers between PvE and PvP, because I don’t think they are going to remove revealed anytime soon.

If backstab and mug and cloak and dagger does less damage, what is the problem with that? You would have to guess where your enemy is.

If you have regeneration and you go into stealth, Shadow Protector won’t grant you more regeneration.

Actually, buffing the dual skills is not the direction that needs to be taken.

Buffing dual skills leads to a situation like what exists with MH Pistol currently. The #1 skill, which is your only free DPS, is too weak to rely on so you end up having to spend all of your Initiative constantly on the other DPS skill, Unload, meaning you get zero utility from the set and no ability to use it tactically.

They actually need to do the opposite of what you suggested and buff the autoattacks, at least for Pistols and Shortbow. They probably should un-nerf Pistol Whip, however.

Unload needs its damaged buffed up to the levels of Rapid Fire and Rifle Volley and be able to pierce, it has low range compared to both of them and does not pierce at all.

It also costs a lot of initiative for easy to dodge damage, the damage should be buffed by atleast 50%.

There is no reason other weapon sets get higher damage attacks with a lower cost and are able to pierce. Thieves don’t even get a pet or anything like that either.

Try using Unload in Spvp, its an absolute joke skill.

Well, I have to admit that P/P does feel dramatically inferior to Rifle on the Warrior all the way around, so maybe they should buff everything. I still say that Vital Shot is both the most important and the most flawed piece of the puzzle though.

I agree, it should be 0.5 fire rate like it says, instead its more like 0.95 fire rate. Almost as slow as rifle, except rifles can put a 9 second bleed on the target and has a lot more power, where pistols can only put a 4 second bleed on the target.

With the recent /nerf/ to quickness, dual skills deserve there damage buffed back to what it was before, people have learned to play since then and its not fair to have so many low damage high costing abilities. Thieves need more sustained damage options and less burst damage options.

Pistol Whip:
Damage (9x): 1,462
(Leave the high damage, people have stun breaks and they can move out of it, if they stand in the sword flurry they deserve the damage.)

Death Blossom:
Damage (3x): 1101
(It still has bleeds, but it deserves damage as well, there isn’t much mixing, however it is a lot faster then PW.)

Flanking Strike:
Damage (x2): 1252
(Fix the animation, its way too clunky and almost always produces a miss on the second hit.)

Unload:
Damage (8x): 1,260
(this should also pierce and hit up to 3 targets like the mesmer’s beam, it has a really easy and slow channel, it should do a lot of damage.)

Shadow Shot:
100%-50%: 736
50%-0%: 228
(Does more damage the healthier your target is, basicly the opposite of heartseeker, and costs more.)

Shadow Strike:
Damage (x2): 1,162
(This attack is very hard to land, so it should do high damage.)

I am tired of relying on backstab or autoattack for damage, thieves have high cost abilities and they should do significant damage, they do not have the boons to stand in a fight like other classes do. Most dual skills have no reliant on stealth.

I don’t do much PvP but the lack of decent heals is affecting me in PvE too. Pretty much all of the time Im fighting same or 1 lvl higher mobs, I’m thinking ‘I could really do with a Guardian or Ele for heals right now’.

You’re PvE’ing wrong. Warriors are hands down the best at PvE, focus on doing damage and everything will die before you need to heal.

I have and constantly do, Ive only been playing for 10days and about 5-6 of those have been as a warrior, Ive reached lvl75 so far. Still the heals are underwhelming in comparison. I mean I was under the impression that each class was supposed to be self-sufficient.

Not saying I would like uber healing just healing that’s on par with other professions.

Banner healing and shout healing isn’t a bad way to go. I personally prefer banner as it only ties up one utility slot. With that going just avoid the big hits (as you should anyway) and you won’t have to use your main heal until a lot later.

Banner healing kind of stinks to what other classes can get with there healing. Having to pick up them constantly isn’t even fun. Banners themselves are a good buff, but we shouldn’t have to completely rely on them because its the only good thing we have left.

Metallic Dyes

I would like to see dyes that add metallic colors to the game (shiny, metal). Colors like silver (nice reflective chrome-look), gold, copper, bronze. You can even make shiny base colors like Metallic Abyss (shiny solid black) or Metallic Celestial (shiny solid white) or even a whole series of Metallic Midnight colors (deep reds, blues, greens, and so forth) for those metallic heavy armor looks.

This would utterly defeat the purpose of “The Juggernaut”, since what you described is the effect it applies.

So while yes, dyes with crazy effects or finishes would be cool, they shouldn’t implement them at the expense of legendary weapons.

Depends, the new boons are not counted in these abilities. (therefore not on rune sets/current abilities.)

If you read, they arn’t really “Gain all Boons.” that is not in its description.

“Draw conditions from nearby allies to yourself. Gain /multiple/ boons for a short duration.”

It does not state “Gain all boons.” therefore it does not apply.

Focusing on Spectral Skills/CC/Protection.

Combined with Necromancer’s Spectral Skill, each longbow auto-attack puts 2 stacks of confusion on the target. This also gives the Warrior protection and the necromancer protection as well. Together they have pretty much perma protection+regeneration. Both of them are critical+conditions.

Once the warrior gets 10-12 stacks of confusion on a target, the necromancer can use epidemic to spread burning/confusion/bleeding from warriors longbow ‘5’ it to enemies.

Heals caster whenever they are hit.
10 + (1.5 * Level) + (0.15 * Healing Power) per stack.

Give this boon to Warriors Mostly. They need a LOT of help staying in the fight.

I do feel like our utility healing is underwhelming compared to other classes. We are given the highest base HP and Heavy Armor and to compensate we lack utility, reliable condition removal and boon generation.

But at the same time, based on how much HP a warrior has (probably on average 21-22K) the heals don’t heal for a very good percentage of our health and really do have a bit lengthier cooldowns than other classes. Outside from going a shout healer build, we don’t have any other reliable sources of healing. Even if we had lower base HP than other classes, the heals are a bit underwhelming.

For example, let us compare a Mesmer’s Ether Feast with Healing Surge.

Ether Feast has a 20 second cooldown, since it is rather easy to generate clones/phantasms, let us assume they can heal the full amount (5560 + 1920 = 7,480 HP). That is roughly 374 HP/Sec.

Healing Surge has a 30 second cooldown, since it isn’t difficult (but more difficult) to gain full adreanaline, let us assume they heal the full amount (8,440 HP). That is roughly 281 HP/Sec.

Already you can see that a Mesmer’s Ether Feast is significantly better than Healing Surge in terms of HP/sec.

But when we take into account base HP of a class. Say on average a Mesmer has about 17K HP, and a Warrior has 21K HP.

A mesmer heals roughly 2.2% of their HP/sec, which means from zero HP to full HP, it would roughly take them 45 and a half seconds, excluding any other factors

A warrior heals roughly 1.33% of their HP/sec, which means from zero HP to full HP, it would roughly take them 75 seconds.

Remember this is not taking into account other factors such as regeneration, etc and the fact that a lower cooldown on heal is inherently better. How many times have you guys died waiting for Healing Surge to come up? As opposed to a heal like Ether Feast which seems to always be up when you must need it.

Mesmers also can get damage reduction per illusion, making them reduce even more damage then plate armor can. (DR>>>>>Toughness/Armor.) That more then makes up for the 2-3k less health.

Give us a reason to use adrenaline and gain adrenaline stacks. There is nothing that gives us anything when we get stacks of adrenaline, but there are traits that give us more stacks? Why? Have us deal additional damage or heal every time we get a stack of adrenaline and give us a reason to use burst.

Berserker’s Power gives more power per adrenaline bar, Heightened Focus increases crit per adrenaline bar, Adrenal Health regens ~300 hp at max adrenaline, Healing Surge’s heal is increased by current adrenaline levels and increases it back to max, GS burst skill gives fury for 15 seconds on use, sword burst provides a 4s immobilize, Longbow burst puts out a large fire field, Mace burst gives a 2 sec stun, Rifle burst has possibly the absolute highest single attack damage in the game at full adrenaline with wvw crits on glass 80s reaching over 15k in a SINGLE, ranged hit, unlike 100b which is a channelled, self-rooting melee attack that requires every hit to land to reach its full potential. It can also have the same cooldown as well if u have a lot of adrenaline regen…

I stopped reading after the above quote since clearly there are MANY uses for adrenaline stacks and burst skills already, even though many of them may not be worth the adrenaline they use due the traits Berserker’s Power and Heightened Focus.

Need a reason to use burst? Longbow AoE fire is great against pesky stealth thieves.

Got a runner, say the same thief is hiding in refuge? Use Hammer burst to close the gap and knock him down and follow it up with hammer 4 to knock him out of it.

Need to snare someone? Use Sword burst for the 4s immob, then swap to your GS and hundred blade him down.

Someone casting a powerful ability? Try a mace stun.

Need a quick high power attack? Eviscerate.

Need fury for what ever reason? GS burst.

Someone is nearly dead and running away? Killshot the coward.

Again, lots of uses, some of which can be tied into other abilities to make powerful combos(see sword snare+100blades).

I never said burst was useless, there should be more incentive to not /hold it/ just for the 12% Damage, 9% Critical Chance.

Can you elaborate on this a little? Just not clear on what you are recommending. Do you mean 5/15/25 % based on adrenaline level?

Pretty sure he means he wants Empowered as a minor trait instead of a major.

You have to use your adrenaline at the right time, you can’t just spam it for endurance, that is horrible gameplay.

Using a burst skill when you have no dodges and weakness stacked on you sounds like a ‘right time’ to me. I think you just don’t want to acknowledge that Warriors have a means of quickly replenishing endurance.

Lol. Its no wonder most warriors are horrible. You have no idea what i’m talking about. Its even worse because your wasting your skills. You should use burst at the right time, which means it might be when your endurance is half, or even full.

400 HPS would be overpowered Dae, there would be no reason to run any of the other heals because even with reduced CD it’s about 70 HPS more than Healing Surge.

I do think that it needs to be increased to about 250 and give 5 seconds of Regeneration on use

Mending just needs to be a stronger heal, say 6500

Healing Surge would come out with about 20 points more HPS but it would allow stronger heals for builds that use Adrenaline more often

Uh……..400hps isn’t going to be ridiculously much. Any class that specializes in heals can easily break 1k hps. Considering shouts heal for small amounts on us, its not that much of a gamebreaker.

(Ele, guardian, necro, stealth thief to some extent, engineer, ranger).

With Guardian traits alone I can get to 600 hps, this isn’t even counting there ‘6’ heal and no healing power either.

And Guardians have major group support and boons like protection and great condition removal, all things warrior does not have.

Warrior has to “at least” have decent self healing. We need staying power, we can rely on our group to only do so much. However we shouldn’t need one to be viable.

No it wouldn’t. It doesn’t burst heal. It is also the same amount of healing other classes get, Warriors don’t have access to protective boons.

Healing Signet needs to be 400 Hp/s. (To be along the lines of other classes healing.)

Healing Surge needs its CD lowered to 25s. (It does not offer invulnerability or CR.)

Mending needs its CD lowered to 20s, and be a physical skill. (It does not heal for much.)
