EHP is an irrilevant data. Making a build on it is just stupid.
In some pieces of equip %dmg has a greater cost and this is why ppl chose head, legs and coat soldier. It’s just more efficient, but you won’t do more dmg.

I did not mention a class mechanic, but a trait line.
Shadow Art is a trait line that relies on stealth and gives a lot of abilities.
Negating stealth will negate too much things.
You want to counter invisibility, beacuse ppl are bad and can’t put down a couple of AoE or swing their AA? Ok, but counter it introducing something that lets you see stealthed players not that prevents player from stealthing. You’ll see me and you’ll be able to attack me, not reacting like a mob, but i still have access to all my skills.
Btw stealth has no hard counters because it does not need them.
Stealth doesn’t grant immunity to anything but bad players.
what you get for wvw xp should not buff you against other players
why ?
wvw is players vs players.
wvw buff should give more skill, passive bonus and strong buffs, not a stupid +1% dmg vs guards.

I don’t think 1 condition removed every 3 seconds of stealth is OP, especially if compared to other professions, like guardians with:
-1condition every 10s
2conditions converted to boons AoE (5 players) with shout (potentially 3 with rune of soldier)
or warhorn/shout warriors (soldier rune) that makes conditions completely a joke for an entire group.
I think self skills must be stronger than AoE ones.
This can make thieves very good in a solo environment but balance their lack of support in a group (since the game should be balanced around groups and not singles)
How a soldier/berserker set can do more damage than a valk/zerk set ?
With the amount of damage that actually comes from conditions (poison – bleed – confusion – retaliation – fear – torment…) I think toughness is not a great stat to raise on thief.
Skills – weak
traps are useless. they are triggered by everything and affects only 1 foe.
Traps should be triggered only by players or (better) have a radius. Also they should be ground target.
Steal should grant a forward blink if there is no target selected or target is out of range
Warriors and guardians are very strong and easy to use.
They simply are better.
Of course you can play the profession you prefer, but those 2 are better than others.

Larcenous strike has 1 big advantage that they will not nerf: unblockable.
It will still be viable even after nerf.
I think you can buy valkyrie with wvw badges.
Also, armor type depends on your build. You may need some extra HP while keeping power and crit dmg, i mixed differend pieces of armor to reach a good (for me) combination of stats.

an on-paper build is different from a real build.
I’m talking about a proper built war, not a casual player that roll a war puts random skills, random traits, random equip.
So maybe i have to restate my “war is op” in “war is op with the right build”

Blinding powder will only save you from the last hs, I think. The basilisk lands on mug, and the c&d immeditately after that So you can now cast blinding powder to blind the enemy thief, and the next bs he uses will miss. But he should have enough time for another bs before the venom stun wears off. Unless if blinding powder removes stone? (Would be a suprise to me, never noticed it to and I almost always carry blinding powder.)
Even then, I think warriors with stuns, lots of stability and berserker stance could be a problem. Though I quess thats just another op setup that needs a nerf.
Anyhow, I think I’ll give the build a go. Just bothers me that they might nerf those runes in the next balance patch, and they are quite expensive.
Blinding powder grants stealth and stealth remove a condition so basically when you use it you should remove basilisk (applied after poison). If it’s covered by another condition you can simply shadowstep away.

but 1 force + 1 accuracy will give +5%dmg +5%crit chance.

How does it work on an item transmuted multiple times?
eg: backpiece transmuted several time , if I use a transmutation splitter will I receive the item with the “original” skin and the last skin used or the last skin + item with the previous skin (like a sort of skin history) ?

so basically you can perma evade doing no damage and hoping someone does not have an istant stun/root to cast after you dodge.

@ Nickthemoonwolf: it won’t be better to mix runes since perplexity is what makes the build op. You can kill people just spamming 4 with off hand pistol.
You can definetly put shadowstep instead of venom.
@ Master of Timespace: you won’t eat the whole mug, c&d, bs, hs combo simply because you can cast blinding powder, avoiding BS, removing basilisk (if present) and gaining stealth.
vs melee: d/p autoattack + 3 when they come close + steal when they cast a non istant skill.
vs ranged/hammers: p/p 4 will do the job
Jewelry is dire+carrion as it is the only ascended dire set present (i think)

I’m just saying that a thief built hybrid, in my opinion is much less effective than a thief built condi or burst.
And I say that after having tried it.
Direct damage has dodges, blocks, & blind to mitigate damage, but require smart use and anticipation. You gotta see it coming. But those things also work against condition skills, and on top of that conditions can be nullified with cleanse. You’ve got 1 more tool against conditions than you do against direct damage.
I think you forgot toughness.
They should half condition damage and conitions duration so to make the stat “condition duration” mandatory in a condition build.
And add another stat “condition critical” to make conditions deal a good dmg…
Players who are not in a Commander’s Squad receives a penalty on the amount of WEXP they receive.

Buying ranks with laurels is not one of those things I’m interested in, but appeases the PvE crowd which gets showered with gifts every patch. Schtap it!

orly. Because I didn’t post that. And it’s a laundry list common to all WvWers. Tell me you’d rather buy your ranks (implemented in March) with laurels (implemented I can’t remember.. sometime this year) over being able to kick offline people from party (should have been fixed in beta). Fix the broken stuff instead of adding this grindball/currency crap.

I really don’t see any problem here.
You can buy a rank with 2 laurels… the obvious intent is to let people buy few ranks, maybe to reach a specific level.
If you are upset because you can’t spend your tons of badges and buy a gazillion rank… too bad for you.
PvErs buying ranks is not a problem.
We need laurels for gear. Nobody smart/logical person is going to buy wvw ranks with laurels.
You can do anything you want with exotic gear or even rare items. You don’t really need ascended items to see if a build works fine or not. If you do, you’re doing it wrong.
Theorycraft a build, put your traits, spend 1gold for a full set of rares + foods.
Go out and test it for a week. Is it good and fun and your best build ever? Go for ascended items… gg.
You don’t have to sacrifice offence for heals.
You just have to drop a good trait for a crappy heal.
But that’s a common problem. Simply some traits are better than others
It will be a mysterious chest, you will be holding your breath while opening it and then you’ll find … suspence …. 2 greens, 1 drop of liquid karma and 2.34silver.

if you by chance find an enemy it will be ganked by gandara’s hungry roamers in 4 seconds
DB is what makes D/D possible to play with hybrid damage builds it also makes D/D playable for certain support condition builds (evade!!!), just because you do not use it with burst builds does not mean it is misplaced.
edit: It`s not just all about the high numbers, you know.
it is misplaced just because it’s the only dot skill in the weaponset.
Just because you can maybe use it in a maybe effective hybrid build does not mean it is well placed.
And it’s not the only random skill put there just because “we must have 5 skillz”
DB should keep the animation, hit 5 targets instead of 3 and do only direct damage, granting protection or regen (something defensive)
