if Rangers still play spirit builds i wont watch..
its still too early..i would say that ive tried some power builds in spvp and they seem to work but the are too selfish to compete the standar spirit build..

Before the match starts the team captains can ban 3 traits.Captains will be able to see both team composition

Still the damage is too low..Dont overestimate the regen…combined with an other source of healing thats not a boon is something..(Warriors healing signet).the healing from Signet of the wild is too low.
Imo you need to put more dmg into it..

I like the idea of Aspects, to be honest i would like any idea..Pets as they are now are a burden..
But in the other hand i dislike the idea of waiting for something too long..GW2 got a lot of problems that took away my interest in this game.
I dont want to create more i want to fix the alrdy existing in a small timeframe so i can log in again with excitement..
Besides it really doesn’t matter. You guy have waited 2 years for a pvp patch so what is an extra couple of months?
An extra couple of months = time enough to get bored and move to greener pastures set to release soon. Now I’ll be honest, I think GW2 is a better game than anything else in this genre coming out soon, but that doesn’t mean it’s good enough or that it will indefinitely retain even me who is in support of it, pvp is very un-fun atm, highly frustrating and that isn’t what you should expect from a leisurely pass time.
ESO looks grim, poorly animated and just generally not my thing, Wildstar looks alright but I just don’t personally feel the future cyborg vibe. GW2 looks better than either of them mechanically, but you can’t look past the glaring problems here like it’s fine.
It’s like driving a Porsche along the French valleys while someone punches you in the back of the head all the way; technically you are getting something great but the experience is being ruined. And even if the new car models coming out in the next few months don’t appeal to you quite as much as your Porsche does, you might just take one out for a test drive and see how it feels to not get punched constantly.

When im thinking “lets play some GW2” i also remember all that waiting ive done for great balance patches..The immob stacking patch was the best imo…..Ive waited for like 8 months for totally nothing.And they went on the forums saying “let the meta settle”..

My ideal aproach of pets will be a Ranger shooting arrows from a distance while the pet is in the middle of the fight supporting the Ranger and the allies with buffs, boon etc.
Goal of Proposal
Pets diversity..Reduce the frustation when you expect some of your damage to be made by your pet and it misses a lot
Proposal Functionality
The ranged damage is lower in this game cause of the risk being meele close to the boss aoes..You take out some of pets damage and you are adding it in a aoe around it.
Examples: Cats give aoe fury on every crit..No need for selfish skills, reduce the damage and add more support in every pet.Birds can give aoe swiftness, bears aoe cond removal on hit, wolf fear enemies on hit etc etc.
Associated Risks
Exept the buffing and nerfing adjustements we need to rebalance-rework some F2 skills.If a wolf has a 5% chance to fear on hit for example the F2 must be changed.Maybe you can put there the knockdown.

It’s a whole bunch of changes that don’t in their totality even remotely address the balance equilibrium whatsoever.
The weakest part about ranger power builds, or the thing they are lacking the most, especially with the underwhelming burst options outside of Greatsword, is the inability to remove protection/regen/stability/etc. If we had a reliable, consistent way of removing boons like protection, then even in their current state, power builds would immediately become more viable than they ever were.
It is why thief and mesmer burst builds are so strong; they have readily available means of removing protection so that they can guarantee their maximum damage output. Warriors not so much, but Healing Signet and good damage coefficients and stability access gives them ridiculous staying power in order to keep in an opponents face until they have an opportunity to deal their burst damage.
The other issue is Empathic Bond. No ranger player in their right mind is going to stop running Empathic Bond in PvP or small scale WvW because of the plethora of condition spam and the lack of valuable removal options outside of Empathic Bond.
Until either of these issues are addressed, ranger builds will stay largely unaffected unless the weapons get retooled.
I have to disagree in some points..Prot is getting countered by vuln…Longbow and Greatsword have some good access to vuln..
And LR removes 3 very hurtfull conditions from Ranger in a good CD..Its will be ok for an “oh kitten” skill..
I have to see the dmg that the maul will make and its reliability, cause if its high enough im pretty sure that some ppl will glady ignore the cond removal
i see some potentials on this new moment of clarity..
A x/30/30/x/x Ranger with a zerker amulet, Empathetic bond, moment of clarity and a Greatsword can hit for about 3,5 k dmg with maul..
If we assume that Signet of Beastmastery becomes an elite skill you can pick signet of the hunt and deliver an 7k maul…
The changes feel good for me..

On sPvP i hit a thief with a 10k maul, you can only have 60% critical damage in sPvP so in WvW am not suprise biggers hits can be achieved

We receive the first pet improvements after half a year and we are receiving some new after 1 year and a half…Minor changes and very slow..
And we are talking about pets, the core mechanic of this class..Imagine when we will see improvements into shouts for example.
heal as one is the worst heal in the game..Y we know it.

They wont be done with Rangers for a long time..Baby steps and adding 3% more dmg on some weapons it will take forever to even consider Rangers a good class to play..The Rangers are doomed to be the biggest failure cause they have a monster AI as their core mechanic..As long as this mechanic exist Rangers are gonna be one dimentional and weak.
So i wouldnt hold my breath either for Ranger either for Eles..We will all probably move on another game…
Ive never played GW1 but this seems interesting..
The pets are a major problem since day 1 for GW2..I dont know if i want pets or not but certainly the way they are now i would prefer anything else instead.
Im not sure if Anet can bring pets to a place where they are functional enough for someone to enjoy playing the Ranger class..And if they cant it will be better to remove em than keep defending a bad mechanic

Thieves use the Basilisk Venom with anything, not only with venom traiting…
That constant NEED of taking ONE kind of skills and heavy traiting em is ridiculous…

Spirit Rangers is a viable build for spvp but its so boring that everyone is hating it..Now with the few nerfs is in a fine place..
Still Rangers need more viable options away from the constant NEED of Empathetic Bond for cond removal and the NEED for high toughness amulets…

Beastmaster’s Bond is a worthless trait cause its uncontrolable (you can decide when your pet will reach 50%) and it has a low benefit compared to other adept traits..

This game would have been better off if the Thief class had never existed. Stealth in and of itself is inherently broken in most MMOs and giving one class access to a dynamic initiative system while keeping all others on a static cooldown system was a recipe for disaster.
Thief has to rely so much on stealth to get anything done as an old man has to rely on his cane. And personally I find the Thief class very unfun both playing one as well as playing against one as there is little to no counterplay involved.

I found 2 logical explenations..
1.Anet doesnt care what we say, they found it right, they did a terrible job…
2.They prepare some new gamemodes that the immob stacking would be vital.Or it will determine fights etc…It has to do with the new upcoming gamemodes in general
The funny thing is that 10% isn’t even high, power rangers deal so little damage than it basically does nothing, it will still heal a lot less than Healing Signet.
But I think something like that should be a trait, and leave the signet as it is.
Changing the signet will nerf to the ground all roamer BM specs, which will be very bad to rangers since it’s one of the only viable specs in wvw.
Maybe by adding also condition dmg into the 10% lifesteal..A 600 burning will heal you for 60 hp/sec, aint bad imo…

After i reached 80 with my main i was doing mostly spvp..Just a few dungeons with guildies just for fun..
The other day i said " Lets do some Arah" i made only one path in the past so i was looking forward to do some more..
I used the LFG tool and i found only dudes selling them and some other that said “Warrior-Mesmer Zerkers only”…My main is a Ranger….
The first shock was big.Hey is this a failure or not?

I had the impression that dudes were selling paths by carrying the party, means he knows well what to do and how to move in the dungeon so he can carry us noobs till the boss…
But no..The second shock was even bigger…
I payed, i entered and i waited at the entrance for the tokens and the gold…
He was a thief and he was kitting the boss in 1% till the party was full to end it…….

No because as I said we already have the same effect with life steal. Life stealing as a skill is essentially necromancers ability, not a rangers.
I got this idea from LoL.Essentially the only way for the ranged AD to survive and stay in teamfights is the lifesteal…They have some ways of escaping, avoiding skill shots but you will no doubt take some cleave dmg..Escaping also means that you also do 0 dmg..So there must be a way to take some healable dmg from cleaves in order to deliver as much dmg as it needs to kill the target..
ranger allready has the strongest self healing in game. i dont see a problem with the healing. the power scaling and distance keeping is the problem.
I would say that Ranger has a lot of access to some self healing traits-traits and regen.Is it enough altho?Hambow Warriors are able to take Zerker amulet and be tanky enough cause they have a strong (passive) healing skill, it doesnt requires healing power investment and it takes only one healing slot…
In Ranger you must try to combine a lot of defensive traits-skills to be close to a what healing signet can do..
I mean running 30 points in BM traitline for Natural Healing(it doesnt scales with healing power), you must probably take Natures voice and Guard to keep 100% uptime regen and Signet of The Wild for another 64 hp/s..Without a clerics gear you wont get any close to what a Healing signet warrior can do…And with Cleric you lose about 70% of dmg
10% would be seriously OP. Thats much higher effectiveness than healing sig for warriors, which is already a problem. A barrage and rapid fire attack would give you way more healing than the standard healing skills on a much shorter cooldown.
And we already have a feature in the game for that with life steal, which can be added to any weapon.

IT SHOULD be worthless to non power specs..Cause its stupid to have it just for the passive…The non power Specs take it and never use the active….
