You can farm paids/frees for pretty looking gears..

Lol charr Mesmers are the easiest to kill.. you can always tell which one is real by watching for animations which are really easy to see because of how huge the charr is when he raises his sword to summon a phantasm every one on the map knows it.
..but there will still be daily tournaments , and they will feature …..gems+other things as rewards right?
I don’t actually need rewards to keep playing spvp.. but I think it would be nice if I could afford a quaggan backpack after a month of basically beta testing maps.. before rotation paid tournies start…
Anyone who thinks looks should be more important then functionality for the purposes of game design is the reason gw2 devs have no plans for esports..
I’ve come to accept that asuras will never get changed and am Instead going to reroll all my characters as asuras for superezmodetinyness. Even though it disgusts me to play ratpeople I guess there’s no point in not being an asura.
Hoping the devs make a “display all enemy models as humans” is pretty silly no one is going to put in that much coding into something so easily addressed by rerolling.
I still believe that devs should just normalize the sizes of character models for pvp.. I just don’t see it happening any time soon..

What’s ridiculous here is the fact that the thief Dazed for 1.5 seconds while putting out all that damage.
Feels like they ninja-rollbacked changes to the thief…
Backstab went through while everything was at 0.3 global cooldown.. The fight lasted 1.2 Seconds.
So the only real option was Diversion, or a change to Staff and retreat into diversion into a Protection/Chaos Storm, into death most probably..
I don’t usually qq about thieves but that was ridiculous and should never happen..

Hotjoins shouldn’t be considered pvp.. they should disable 8v8 after rank 10.

The reason for this thread clearly proves the point that people can and do see abilities memorize animations, counter weapon switches, it’s infact because of this that asura are so stupid right now, they provide an ezmode alternative, where your skills are hardly noticeable.

He’s an asura. Now, how you can point out what kind of stealth did he use? Was it a short one, longer one? You see, you don’t really notice it. Ruins tactics, and makes you to just give up or defense randomly. Blizzard didn’t make their shorter races taller or reskined for pvp, that’d be hilarious. Did it lower the skill cap? Well, not at all. GW1 had cast bars, had very good mechanic (mesmer) based about canceling/interrupting casts and it was no problem. Lets take apart your situation just to prove how you willfully ignore features which are already in place yet you have no idea about.
Thief Stealth; Animations, did he hit you before he stealthed? He was Melee ranged? Chances are he used Cloak and Dagger.
If you saw him Glowing: Healing+Stealth
House over his head and a circle: Shadow refuge
You are now blind and there was smoke? Blinding Powder.
All Stealth is 3 seconds unless traited to be 4 or interrupted to be less.
Shadow refuge stealths longer 6-7 seconds.
Was he at 25% Health? Traited stealth(lol)or Rune.
After much practice, it feels like back teleporting with staff is actually ineffective and the time you spend turning around actually takes away from your velocity, especially if you have swiftness.
Remember you should always use your target as your point of reference so you can bounce using people chasing you, quite effective when coupled with blink swiftness on heal and/or temporal curtain.
No target about face rotations are a waste of time.
Devs said in state of game that they will rotate through all the maps first…

Memorizing shrubs which you can stand on to teleport inside CT is not my idea of a fun time.
I find CC to be done very well in GW2 with maximum of 2 second CCs which can be broken, there is really no need for a 1second stability internal for 5v5..
Much better then in other games with 3-15 second CCs with whole reworks implemented later on like diminishing returns or 15-30 seconds of “Stability”
If you get CC’d you have stunbreakers/stability, your teammates can give stability, anything more and CC would not be viable in gw2..

thief v mesmer would become very very easy.
Most classes have a counter to stealth.. just.. the ability to stealth multiple times in one fight is pretty annoying..
One thief can keep 2 guys tied up at a point for an extended period of time…
No in all seriousness a slight size increase for asura in spvp 35-45% would be easy to implement and would help players High and Low.
I am a small tree but the smallest asura is almost 1/3rd my size, largest asura are almost 1/2 my size, if they were atleast 75%-95% my size I don’t think it would be such a problem.
I would totes jump on the option of making all models human… great idea.
I find torch to be weak for node defense… I like the invisiblity but the damage being backloaded instead of frontloaded is dumb.. having 2 invis is very strong for survival.
Phantasm is weak compared to duelist.. and Ranged stun +daze on more targets = ultra strong.
Maybe it needs to be trait’d to work better, condition cleanse sounds pretty strong
just no room in my build for it.

Hopefully devs won’t wackamole their game balance at mid-high end in GW2 is actually very close to ideal which is more then I can say for any other game.
Slight tweaks to the ele, very slight, maybe 5% less sustained dps, and making Ranger traps Cooldown on Trigger instead of Cooldown on Placement and Fixing their condition full cleanse every 10 seconds.

Builds work differently in different areas, I would probably not take my builds to pve or pve+

S/p Staff is just stronger Phase retreat is super strong and you know you’ll have some evade when you switch weapons instead of being on cd for blurred frenzy.. much more defensive. Chaos storm and chaos armor is …really really strong too.. can get stacks of protection regen.. etc.. very nice.
And the fact that you don’t care about PVE doesn’t mean nobody should.

I don’t actually know how iSwordsman functions in Pve+ but if it’s anything like summoning your iSwordsman into 5 people and watching him get insta’d or summoning it 1v1 and seeing it get dodged… I would say it is the weaker phantasm.

I actually have more problems with pro-BM rangers… Very strong point assault good thing most people run stupid builds for BM.. and the best build gets very little play.
Sure Portal is ultra strong in the context of conquest.

Chaos storm sometimes works as well as distraction.
Hilariously most of the time you can out dps one guy rezing long enough to get a stomp if you had enough stability to land it…
Cancel stomp mesmers, blink(If you have it) stomp thieves, stability stomp the rest.. Ele is a pain…

Yes the damage is better.. sword phantasm is easy to dodge, and iDuelist is impossible to dodge as it is 2-3 seconds of straight dps which follows invisible targets while also being ranged and not subject to being rapefaced by anyone throwing down any sort of aoe.

No it’s not a bug.. it starts at 4 seconds and ticks down..
Animation ends and you get.. a very short amount of distortion after..
It says 2.. but it feels more like 1.75..
In fact when it says “1” it really only has like 0.25…

If you time it right with 3 clones you have enough time to stay in without getting knockbacked.

I’m sorry you are having trouble with thieves but it is a L2P issue.
Even Jon said it was L2P issue and it was really hard to balance classes for people who haven’t taken the time to learn other class mechanics.
I play Ranger, DDele, Necro, Mesmer…
The only counter I know to trap rangers is don’t step on the traps :d
send golem…and watch for retrap :/ very gimmicky forces a fight off point most of the time.
