The warden is imho… the most underpowered phantasm.. while the AoE cc + Swiftness uptime +Retaliation uptime is great… the warden makes focus weak imho..

I switch through all the offhand weapons.. but Torch/focus/sword seems weak compared to pistol..

I feel much stronger with s/p over any other combination..

I feel like I’m forced into GS for dps when I run s/f.. while in s/p I can take staff and feel like I’m only gaining power with combinations like CS+Duelist..

Decrease dps, make it mobile ? :/ I dunno.. (seen 4k full damage from warden)

Please buff my class build, because critting for 4-6k switching pet critting for 4-6k is not enough for me I need to also get 1.2k crit aoes from sigil of fire.

LOL at Ranger dps being bad even without pet, Traps, Bonfire, Entangle, Throw Torch, Dagger Bleeds.

You gotta network your way up .. can’t expect to just get everything handed to you.. get in 5 pvp guilds.. look for groups willing to run people who haven’t played for 3 months.

150qp is the start of the ladder lol.. I doubt those are the only people doin paids.. infact a lot of teams are not on the ladder…

Teams who pick players based on qp totals and not by playing with them and seeing if they fit the team are going to lose more then they win.

Oh wise one come down from the heavens of hotjoin and join us in paid tournaments surely you are the best mesmer to have ever played and will carry us to victory.

We are the illusionist class, we are supposed to be tricky, but the most amount of counterplay? LoL I guess you haven’t fought a good ddele/CondiRanger or your MMR is so high you only fight mesmers like nero vitus xee and the other top tier mesmers..

Mesmer requires you to counter-play every class… you can’t just run in get melee range and start bashing your face across your keyboard like a warrior/thief..

Elementalist Mesmer and Ranger are my favorite classes.

IMHO Mesmer 2 should actually do what it’s supposed to do…
Instead of creating a copy anyone above r5 can tell is not the real mesmer.
At least then they’d have to look for the mesmer actually using his heal or other skill.

It is at most a 2 second window.. how does this compare to say…

Thief Downstate can be forced with haste but usually it’s
Teleport and guaranteed stealth afterwards. Might as well just dps body half the time.

Umm . Dude, i kill good mesmers all the time. And if your a ranger a mesmer is joke to kill or least force to run.
Ele should also win 1on1 vs mesmer nearly all the time.

A mesmer who knows where the interrupt button is…won’t lose easily( if at all) against an ele, if I can interrupt an ele healing 24/7 with a 1.5s daze skill animation ( comet), I believe a mesmer can interrupt an ele with zero effort using all its daze skills which take 1/2 time animation…but again we’re talking about decent mesmers

I’ve heard a lot of people talking about a balance patch hitting the same time you’re shifting from 1tv1t, any truth to this or is it just conjecture?

Nerf distortion you say? A skill that we can use ever 45 seconds if we trait. Then we have Blurred Frenzy which is every 10 if we are lucky. These 2 skills are the most reliable evade/block/invuln we have. Thief has how many evades available with no cooldowns thanks to initiative? Rangers have how many depending on the weapon set? D/D ele’s have better mobility than all other classes plus a bunch of blocks/invulns. Warriors/Guardians/Engie’s all have the ability to “block,block,block” again depending on weapons. ALSO Portal is getting shared as stated by the devs so just give up on it being removed.

eles have only 1 invuln and no blocks, thieves that blow their entire initiative load on their shortbow are either kitten or deeja and guardians only block block block during their heal. kitten son, get it together.

Come on ostrich, reading your post it sounds like you have a vendetta against mesmers.. while playing the soft counter d/d(Or are you still running around d/f) ele, you should be able to beat 99% of mesmers hands down.

You seem to have forgotten to mention Ele’s propensity to fullheal while in stability and perma access to protection/swiftness/fury…

No. That’s the point of this map, that’s why this map is different from all the other maps.

Fix the buffs; No long distance channeling, 5 meter distance to channel; other team beginning to channel triggers (StabilityPiercing)knockback around the node would be fun. No haste capping… Timewarp 5second caps are dumb.

I play ranger/ele/necro/mesmer right now…

Unless they’re running Phantasm mesmer it’s a high risk high reward class, with a pretty high skillcap.

Mesmers have hard counters just like any other class, Bunker s/d Ele for instance can hard counter mesmer, it’s impossible to even decap their point for a long enough period of time. Condi Ranger can Kill and lol all the way to the bank. D/d Ele well played is a soft counter to mesmer. Thief is a Hard counter to anybody at 75% hp when he hits a node.

Having multiple portalers is gonna TOTALLY fix portal amirite?

I might be able to offensive roam more effectively with blink or Null field… so I’d be happy if engi/necro got portal.

I’ve become a big fan of double portal shenanigans so having a more diverse team and still being able to double-portal might be pretty fun.

Quickness/stability/portal/shadowstepping(Or any other instant ability) should interrupt the cast.

It’s not a fun mechanic, it’s not a fair mechanic, it’s buggy, and needs to be fixed but it definitely isn’t one of the bugs that’s easy to fix you probably would have to change how all interaction/casts work just to tackle this.. you’d need to peel programmers from things like “Ratings System” or other really important features.

I’m hoping they keep this map out of rotation for just a while longer..

If you think Mesmers are fine right now then sorry, they’re not. The ability to use the “I messed up” buttons 24/7 in duels, team fight capability with time-warp, map control with portal is too good for this game’s “standards.” And just because you aren’t good with a Mesmer and can’t see how broken Mesmers are, doesn’t mean they aren’t broken.

Delete Portal and Time Warp from tPvP, get the old Moa Back, nerf distortion, they will still be above average.

Oh, this thread again…. those numbers are really low this time though.. I remember seeing 9k -14 k single hits… thief has been toned down since then, if anything..

Sharks are there as something to set the map apart from the other Conquer style maps.
Find a guild, get help playing, pvp is not a solo game I’m sure you’ll enjoy it more when you understand the mechanics of the map.

I dunno.. forcing people to feel like they need to do certain things they don’t want to do has never been my favorite part of playing a game.

Grinding PVE armor to pvp for instance… this ruined a lot of games for me.
If people don’t like to pvp they’re not going to enjoy being forced into it…

Some people just enjoy different aspects of the game…

What we need is to make the mode of play(spvp) appeal to a wider audience without destroying what it is at it’s core, or dumbing it down.

Matchmaking system, 1tv1t 2tv2t tournaments, 2v2 /3v3, more maps, more game modes, bugfixes , small balance changes, even Templates would go a long way in rejuvenating the pvp population. Band aids like incentive+1 Laurel, are in the works afaik would be nice for hardcore pvpers who don’t do laurels at all but don’t bet on it moving numbers to spvp.

As long as Paids pop instantly, I’d say the population is ATLEAST moderately healthy.

People have been asking for templates since day one..
Not sure it wasn’t in @ beta.

I’m willing to wait for it though even at a gem cost of 400~ per character.

im pretty much fine with system that dont give me gems and instead is poping fast and people are playing it..

+1 For sure this would be a great way to refresh the Conquest game mode.

Many people have suggested 1 ticket tournaments for a long time, Devs reluctantly delivered.

I feel like the devs are listening it’s just the Pvp patch is slated for february and everybody is very quick to jump on the QQtrain.

Devs are doing a great job of ignoring Kitten QQ posts and moving slowly towards a much better game, lots of people came back this patch to pvp and this isn’t even the pvp patch, I’m really looking forward to mid feb.

It’s not too late, only 5 months after release still, and the game is B2P people will pick it up and drop it multiple times, a lot of people I haven’t seen in over 3 months have come back to pvp.

Comparing GW2 with f2p games is stupid those games don’t have anything on gw2.

The reason a lot of them are going f2p IS gw2.. if their business model was sustainable and their game was good Swtor/tera etc would never have gone F2p.

I take it all back, this was the best patch in a long time.

I hope they learn from this amazing week that’s just starting, and implement 1tv1t or 2tv2t as the 2nd Tier of Paid tournies for Silver chests+ ticket

Tickets aren’t leaving the economy but they are migrating.

There is much more incentive for mid tier players to play paids because they can pull off a 35-70% win rate.

There is MUCH more incentive for New-players/SoloQuers to play frees and even paids after winning because the mid tier guys are out and so are the Top Teams.

This ONE patch has done for sPVP more then anything I’ve ever seen anet put out.

I feel somewhat shortchanged by what I thought would be the be all-end all patch of the year.. I’m guessing the pvp patch is not too far off but they could not implement both huge patches as I’m sure they’re on a much tighter schedule as far as developing the living story(Monthly Events) of the game.

This was for sure a massive (1.3gb)patch, you can tell the devs really care about their product, and while I feel my favorite part of the game was largely ignored I’m not gonna give up hope that the devs haven’t forgotten about sPVP…

The thing with Downstate is it’s not supposed to be a 1v1 mechanic, it’s supposed to be a 2/3/4/5vX mechanic.

Shadow Refuge, Hallowed ground, Signet of undeath, Mark of Life,

Straight up healing.

If downstate was useless and didn’t add a layer of strategy/layer of balance, everyone would play Burst, One thief could go into a node and burst someone down and his team mates would be able to do nothing as he stealths away, gets full health and burst the 2nd guy guarding the node.

Right, and all I’m saying is, if solo que gets implemented I won’t be able to pug free tournaments with a friend or two, we’d always have to have a full team because no one would solo que team Free Tournaments, everyone would soloque Solo ques :/
team v team would basically be like paid.. for elite teams only, and paid would never pop ever.

I’m not saying your ideas are bad, they’re just really inconvenient to me personally and although I can’t speak for a majority I think some people like to duo/tri que and others like to que with meshwork teams.
