Bunker builds is what you want to avoid it. You dont want to squirt clones every time you dodge, because it destroys one of your phantasms (and you need those for dps). And by being bunker, you dont need to move around so much. Also, you want to preserve your skillpoints for defensive traits, leaving the Dueling trait line on a “only if you must” basis. Even if you do go 20 points down it, you also have the mantra cooldown competing with the clone on dodge – very powerfull trait for bunker builds.
Phantasmal healing still last 5s (I also stack slightly less than 1s every rotation, presumably due to +boon duration).
Sorry but stuns in PvE is pretty worthless. Havent really tried it in PvP though.
Fantastic! But you’re still a kitten plant.
From what I gather they have basicly changed it to this:
Instead of having 1% chance to get a ticket, you have a 10% chance to get 1 out of 10 needed scraps in order to make a whole ticket.
Makes sense. I think.
Inbefore redoing a char and seeing race change pop up 2 weeks later.
Many month ago, I had a Charr Engineer. He was the smallest, thinnest size, using an ugly face and looked bad in pretty much all level 80 trenchcoats I could find. I wanted at the very least change the body/face/fur, that would be acceptable just to keep an 80 character. After enduring it for a while, I said kitten it, deleted him and created an Asura Engineer instead. I did some hardcore leveling on him. Less than a week after my new Engineer was 80… Makeover kit.
Said it before, saying it again – only allow it for 80’s that has completed story. Cultural armor is a loss, it will unequip if you have it. Home instance remain the same. Change the story arc called “I’m [Character Name]” to include the fact that you where raised by another race (this “explain” the rest of the story that is still in place).
Wow thank god necros and guardians have been buffed considerably, they really suck, especially in WvW.
Because its always been a tacked on mode that’s felt out of sync with the rest of the game. I dont think sPvP is bad, its just… pointless.
IMO they should have made battlegrounds linked with WvW instead – small portions of the world seen through the mists. For example Fort Trinity and its surroundings, 30 players on each side (WvW style). Or battle in a segment of Divinitys Reach, 10 players on each side. Open field combat in Plains Of Ashford 50 players on each side. ETC and so on.
sPvP is only there so that ANet can proclaim “E-SPORTS W000T!!!”. But nobody really want it.
Just out of curiousity if there was any Kodash/Deso online yesterday on EB… Why did the both of you decide to clash in SM smack in front of Piken, lol? We thought we where going to be sandwiched, plenty people there to defend a gate but not even close enough to cover a 2 front attack. At first the feeling was that you wherent going to engage each other and instead work together to crush us, sorting out what’s left afterwards. After all, its SM and its well defended. But it turned out to be quite a show. We could easily roll over the leftovers from Kodash and bumrush the cornered Desolation.
Ah, Logitech. That explains the minor injury.
Had it been Steelseries, you’d be dead now.
They still arent dragons though. Just constructs, minions. They resemble the dragon because they are dragon champions. Not dragon champions.
Anyway, a steam dragon could be easily installed. Just have it created by a crazy Asura that want to take over the world :p
But if you could would you be happy to lose the Achievement points and storylines and armorsets you have gotten? Because realistically those are things you would have to lose especially the Achievement points.
Why would the achievement points and story lines be lost?
Its very easy for Anet to allow race change.
Only allow it for level 80 characters that has fully completed the story line.
Cultural armor would not be transfered but can be thrown in the forge/salvaged.
And that’s it. No more, no less. Your story line would still be there, your home instance would still be the same. You would count as simply not being “homegrown”.
If you race change, you made that choice. A loss of 100g for T3 is something you have to deal with. Those that really, really want to race change wont care about such trivial things.

So what should we tell people who’s primetime is right now and this is the time of day they get to play… too bad, go somewhere else? Stop having fun and playing because you’re hurting my feelings?
But… it is primetime now
Seriously, its a silly idea. Its just a bloody game, not a world championship tournament. Poor night coverage make you loose the matchup? Well boho there are no tiers anymore anyway, its just random who you meet. So it doesnt matter if your server win or loose.
T1 and T2 get pretty serious with commander tags. The community is tight and expects a commander tag to be on their TS. If your pinning and not communicating it is perceived as a disadvantage due to thinning of the herd.
Teamspeak still doesnt help what you see ingame.
Here is another variant following GW2 standards somewhat more, including a color slider just for laughs (it could be a dropdown or color button as well). The entire choice section should probably be above the create button but I was being lazy and didnt move that.
Yeah I know, ANet doesnt care that much about player ideas and I am sure they could do a 10x better work with the GUI. But maybe someone see it and ponder “Hm, now when I think about it why isnt this in there?”.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Or one could just do a power/crit Necro and laugh at how hideously OP they are, yet few seem to have taken notice yet (everyone is too busy to complain about stealth, clones or immortal Guardians). Ranged auto-attack hit harder than Thief backstab and everything pretty much melt in front of you.
And on the plus side, you can also spec for zerg warfare when you want.
A 5% faster kill rate in tougher dungeon content is huge. It’s the difference between efficient success and party wipeout. When a player goes down due to the 5% shortfall in toughness/vitality or a boss stays up longer due the 5% attack deficit it costs everyone.
And then we have situations where there was me in my magic find set, 2 Warriors, a Mesmer and a Theif fighting the last Subject Alpha battle in CoE 2. They where all dead by the time he had 40ish percent due to incredibly poor dodging, no endurance/escape traits/sigils/skills and berserker gear.
I soloed Alpha for the rest of the 40% :/
They could easily keep MF on runes/sigils/food and just change explorers. As I said you can reach 100%+ MF with ZERO drop in combat effectivness and yes it does make a difference to drops.
What do you mean what’s wrong?
There is no queue
Here’s how it works:
Player A, B, C and D queue, in that order. They get randomly thrown into randomly available groups. Group 1 (A,C) and group 2 (B,D). After a random amount of time (presumably some sort of percentage threshold for the border you “queued” to, say 95% population), group 1 pop and players A/C join the battle. B wonder how the kitten C could join when he queued before him, see previously mentioned random groups. Repeat the process the next time population fall under the threshold and the group pops.
When you “requeue” you get thrown into a random group depending on how lucky you are – whether that group is the one that pop the next time is completely random. You never know if its the same group or another. That’s why this method is often used to speed things up considerably (same thing if you relog, you can end up in a lucky group about to enter).
So to sum it up: Its random.
What are you going to do to prevent it? Strike them deaf, dumb and blind?
There is nothing that can stop a player on one server from talking to someone on another. How are you even going to prove anything if they are neither grouped or use chat? Could easily be voice com only.
You will have to accuse everyone on the map. Its really easier to accuse none and stop thinking about what’s impossible to fix, just play.
You may be able to kill something 5% faster with those 700 points of yours. Big deal.
That’s a troll right? 700 points of stats is huge.
The strongest power builds get around 2000 power. If you remove 700 points of that stat you lose 35% of direct DPS.
Since explorers have power, its impossible to loose that amount even when swapping from berserkers. You also dont loose any precision at all.
The damage is lost on critical damage, not the direct stats. Its a pretty big hit though, but as I said it depend on what you start with. Not all of us run berserkerderper in PvE and going to 0% crit damage may not be much lower than you had.
Also, the strongest power builds reach well over 2000, more like 2500. My Mesmer bunker build has about 2050 power when buffed (not a single point in the power tree).
Because player B provides the muscle to drag player A through difficult content that player A is unable to handle without help from player B, especially dungeons and fractals.
There’s no content player A is unable to handle without help from player B.
Get off your high horse, you are not as powerful or as useful as you think you are.
Yea back off man, people with 700 less stats perform the same as people with 700 more stats then they have.
Yes. Because it depends on the stats and how one designed the set.
My PvE setup has 100% MF (70%+food, I dont bother with sigil) and I loose around 400 toughness/200 vitality on it compared to my WvW setup, but I also gain precision and crit damage. I effectivly swap from Soldiers/Melandru to Berserker/Pirate (its not exact as I mix some Knights and other stuff there but you get the idea).
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Well….maybe you can’t do jumping puzzles…but I don’t need to see your achievement page. I don’t play an Asura (not anymore anyway), and I don’t have any issues doing them.
You havent done the puzzle in northern LA? The one where you jump down the hole by the forge. Half the time your character will be through the ceiling if its a larger one and you cant see crap.
Dungeon armor isnt worth anything to begin with – its soulbound.
Getting your craft level to 500 will probably take far, far more time and money than getting another 2000 badges.
Protest against ANets no-pants policy for light armor and take them off.
Huge amount of warriors and guardians, backed by elementalists, couple of necros and mesmers. Well-timed Battle standards to rez allies, tons of boon stacking and constant condition removal. Arenanet designed the game so that currently this meta is the strongest. Of course such melee train will demolish most PuG blobs, but is it because it the PuGs are bad and not in the TeamSpeak or because this meta is just too good?
Err… Yes on all accounts? You forgot that a good commander also make all the difference in the world. PuG commanders can be very good, but they lack the cohesion and WvW oriented builds in a guild group. Really, just a single berserkerderper Ranger that thinks he’s a God because he just managed to solo a naked level 3 Engineer will completely ruin any engagement. When the berserkers go down, enemies go back up again.
But hey, even PuGs can beat down guilds like Red Guard. Piken learned that from Red Guard
Tell your guildmate to hunt you down, kill him, watch the bounty rise, tell another guy to come to you, kill him as well, watch the bounty rise again, repeat until its at a nice high bounty then have yet another guildmate finally kill you. Split the profit.
But seriously. Do think Batman would be in a top tier server or in the lower ones? And which one would Superman be on?
Well its quite clear that Batman will be on a low pop server since he want to be alone and seems to be quite happy to go one on one with villains, while Superman will be on a high pop server because he need a ton of people around him just so they can die in over-extravagant battles.
Like if Batman took Stonemist, he’d just sneak in and beat the Lord to a bloody pulp, while proclaiming he’s Batman. If Superman took Stonemist, the entire server would be a smoldering ruin.
PS: Not everyone likes rainbows and unicorns.
If you dont like it after watching that you are not human.
A much simpler explanation is that Anet made a mistake in the map and that it is an exploit.
Thief teleport used on the big supply camp archways will bring him on top of the archway (when teleporting into the underside of the walkway).
Mesmer teleport used on the big supply camp archways will bring him smack into the side of the wall at ground level.
Which of these mechanics is wide open for exploits, hm?
No really I am actually serious. I would honestly like to know why the same basic teleport mechanic is so different. ANet coded it this way, made this distinct difference.
Dont really see what the worry is since as it is now, doing like 3,000 damage on a PvE boss with 5,000,000 HP earn you gold medal (ie what any build bunker or condi sneeze out by accident).
Condition build are already severely handicapped. Why do people use it in PvE now?
Exactly. A lot of people on this thread have complained about the night capping, but the sad fact is Desolation generally lacks people during the morning, noon and most of the afternoon a as well.
They didnt seem to have any problems bringing in a ton of manpower to defend Hills in Deso border an hour or so ago. Even Piken had more people than usual at this time and we where still pushed out.
But its weekend and vacation so its pretty skewed in terms of “regular” numbers.
Excellent, spread the word! Make… the teams? Wat? Where?
Presumably you are talking about http://gw2gvg.com/? Funny way of spreading the word :p
What’s so funny about it is: why does the exploit exist?
Thieves teleport is very special even though multiple classes also have teleports. Unlike the others, their teleports go through clear through objects and terrain, while for example Mesmer teleport will only cross level ground (if even that, a grass straw can stop you).
Why? Why doesnt Thieves mechanics work the same as the other classes? Or why doesnt the other classes have the same mechanics? Its the same basic skill – teleport. It teleports you. But its not the same.
My only conclusion is that someone at Anet deliberatly made Thief teleport like this and thus, these “exploits” are actually by ANet design.
If someone can give another explanation, please, go ahead.
I have never ever seen a stealth trap used and supply traps I see now and then with about a weeks time between each sighting.
So meh who cares.
They can’t replace MF with any viable stat. If they do EVERY piece of armor must be rebalanced. It will be removed, and either a bs stat will replace it, or it will be removed and nothing will be added to replace it. My money is on nothing.
Of course they can. I could easily imagine explorers set with Power/Precision/Vitality instead, which would probably make it a more valuable than the current one.
The problem is how the kitten they gonna bring back MF. Account based? Lol. Never going to happen. We see like 5% as max there. If there’s 30m food that gives +150% MF, maybe. As long as it doesnt cost like 100g to make one of them.
Look at the bright side – at least its not converted something entirely different when you equip it, like the vambraces that turn into kittenty gloves on sleeved armor.
They could scale it down just a notch on light and medium though.
I prefer armour sets I can actually imagine myself wearing.
Ah but I am a Mesmer. I have the luxuary to imagine what you see myself wearing.
In reality the picture I posted is a 60 year old whiskey-addicted ugly Charr that like to lure cubs into mortars just for fun.
they either super carebear shiny(all they are missing is rainbow vomit)
Come join the dark fabulous side.
Thieves and mesmers are the only two classes that I have seen lead a zerg around the map and still manage to get away. This is just plain wrong. Being outmanned 5 to 1 (never mind 10 or 20 to 1) should mean you die. Period.
Yes it is indeed plain wrong. What on earth does a 20 man group have any use for hunting a thief or a mesmer around the map? Did their collective intelligence drop a notch, or 9000 notches? The hunt for lootbags sometimes get utterly kittened.
Any group that cannot stunlock kill a thief in stealth need not bother.
But what will you do when auto-attack has skill lag?
The rank should give you the ability to slap the yaks so they move faster.
I thought it was obvious.
Some players also like having huge 3 ways.
Dont we all?
I cannot possibly imagine they will leave those that transmuted their legendary out in the cold. I think they will resolve this by simply checking the skin of a weapon. If its a legendary skin, the weapon will be deleted and replaced with the new legendary that can swap stats.
Make the two secondary options into one which shows tag to guild and group.
Suddenly you’ve optimized a seemingly complex system to a simple tickbox – public (ticked by default).
Late edit: Here, I fixed it with my mad kitten skills :p
Yes, Anet even censur the name of an editing program.
Its supposed to be a dropdown menu.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
There is another solution – remove all skills from the game.
The only available weapon would be AI controlled arrowcarts.
You can always buy obsidian shards and try to fail at 10x clover making. A chance at a huge chunk of lodestones is always nice.
How exactly do you auto attack with a torch?
You wave it quickly back and forth.
I really should get around to throwing up like 500 greatswords on the TP, expensive of course. Then post “OMG I GOT 5 DUSKS JUST NOW FROM 50G SPENT!!!”.
Anyway, congratulations. To get 3 precursors from 100g worth of tries is beating astronmical odds. People would be lucky to get a single precursor and 99.9% would get none.
Based on the latest blog its worth getting a legendary. They will be upgraded into acended status and also you will be able to change the weapons status into how ever you want ( berserker, cleric, night, … Etc) when you get out of combat and no need to transmute it. So 1 weapn with changable status is somting i look for in a legendary, and you cant complain about the looks
That alone would truly make it a Legendary unlike any other weapon, yes. It would even weigh up the cost a bit.
Anyway, I built my Bifrost 5 minutes ago and I kept thinking about this before equipping it (I couldnt afford the 105 gold listing fee anyway).
Ignoring what we know about potential future changes, then I would still say no, it wasnt really worth the time and the cost. Yes its pretty and all, but in the end running around with say The Crossing (130g) vs Bifrost (2100g) is the same kitten thing. Bifrost isnt 16 times prettier and/or better. If it would have been 130 vs 400 gold or something like that, then it would be a whole different argument.
Its really the same argument about cars. Yeah you can get a $2,000,000 Koenigsegg or you can get a $2000 15 year old Volvo – if it does whakittens supposed to do it will still be a good car. Would people argue that the Koenigsegg is “worth it” over said Volvo in order to get a better car? Errr… I doubt it. Most people – if not all people – would argue thakittens extreme waste and only serious enthusiast would even consider it. A luxuary car would be “only” $100,000 or something, just a fraction of the cost for the Koenigsegg.
You can even see how this directly relate to GW2: 2g, 100g or 2000g? Same factors.
AAAAAAAAAH! Too philosophical. Dont care. Got Bifrost.
