Roughly 10 times the loot since you get a couple of silver, a useless T5 and a green item in 99 out of 100 deluxe boxes?

Call me dumb but I honestly dont see how you can farm the invasion event by “failing” and just killing champs. Since killing champs and assorted mobs is the entire point, farming make you go through the waves faster and finish it in time. Killing champs slower to keep the event open longer would be silly, since you’d kill less champions. Of course zergs will stack around commanders to cause champions spawn, around 3-4 per event. Yes you get a ton of bags. I got some 35 champ bags + scarlet loot the very first invasion I did yesterday. We were intent on finishing it and did so with 1 minute to spare.

As I said before its already been done. PvP in Plains of Ashford was a beta event over a year ago. It wasnt all that good since people was scaled down, turned into corrupted beasts and had wierd skills with completely out of whack damage, but it was still open world PvP (with epic music, lol).

Just kick everyone out of the zone on event start, replace the NPCs/event layer with a PvP layer for the specific zone, then allow people to enter the zone again. Upon entering, you get assigned a side and spawn in a specific location, ie that teams home base. When its over, everyone is kicked out of the zone and it is reset to normal PvE mode again. Cant 24/7 champ farm during a few hours/days? Deal with it.

Awesome, then MF is the new berserkers! You’d get like 200% crit damage and be able to insta-kill any enemy. Warriors would hit for 100K with 100b. Fitting.

Said it before, saying it again – Reintroduce the real Shatterer event. Where he flies over a zone and corrupt players, ending in an all out battle between corrupted and regular players. The only changes that need to be done compared to the beta event is that the corruption should be visual only, everyone should be upscaled to 80 (like normal WvW) and there should be some sort of auto-balance so that the corrupted and regular players remain roughly the same ratio. Add large sPvP style capping points in important areas that we can fight around. And of course no Eir and Rytlock that walk around insta-killing everyone in sight, like the last time.

It could be an all day event in any random zone, hell even cities. Imagine how fun it would be to PvP in Divinity with Shatterer roaring over our heads?

Well I still think we should have the Phantasmal Mirror elite skill which create a phantasm copy of your target. If he is a Thief it create an Illusionary Thief, if he is a Ranger it create an Illusionary Ranger complete with an Illusionary Pet, etc and so on. Each would have some “trademark” class skills, such as the iThief being able to stealth and backstab, etc. Cooldown maybe 45, maybe some more hitpoints otherwise damage similar to other phantasms. If its an NPC that isnt considered “worthy” of duplicating, it create a duplicate of the Mesmer himself instead, ie the iMesmer.

Lol. Drivers would affect the radius of lighting set by game devs? That’s a new. Its not a bug.

And yes, I know can turn off particle effects or pick another sword (I regret ever equipping it, could have sold it for a decent profit but the preview showed NOTHING for the ground lighting). That still doesnt change the fact that the lighting effect is absolutely ridiculous. The particle effects are just fine.

So I’m a Mesmer. I throw sparkly lightning all over the screen and shimmering pink bubbles. Every engagement is an explosion of fabulous. I also poop rainbows because I carry Bifrost. That’s when I’m alone. Lets not even begin to discuss how it looks when there are more us. We cant even see bosses because they are covered in flame/sparkles/explosions/unicorns/whatever.

But now I also have to have my retinas burned off every time I swap to one of the new greatsword skins?!

How much more lighting effects can the game have before the entire screen is just… white?

To give it some realism, when you set up a treb, an npc should spawn, maybe 10k hp, that once you set up the autofire, takes over for you, and fires where you locked the auto-fire. You can take back over at any time, to adjust the firing path.

If he gets killed it should take a couple minutes (maybe 2) for another soldier to make his way onto the battlefield to replace him. Essentially making autofire something that can be turned off easier than killing the treb. This would give thieves something to do in WvW zergs, disable trebs so that players have to use them. Anyway, I think auto fire should have its limitations.

No need for some sort of auto-respawn of dead NPCs. Mechanic would be really simple:

- Trebuchet is built
- Player gets in trebuchet, aims, shoots at 70% power and then click a new “Siege Team” button. You can only activate it by having enough points in treb mastery, otherwise greyed out/missing.
- Players gets ejected from the siege and replaced with an NPC and possibly a guard or two nearby (depending on the level of the players treb mastery).
- The trebuchet is now locked to the player until the siege team despawn/get killed, no one but the player can enter. If he enter, the team is removed and a charge is used.
- NPC will keep firing at current direction, 70% power (+-5%, +-5 degrees).
- If the NPC is killed but the treb is still alive, another player have to enter the treb and click the “Siege Team” button again, which has a limited amount of charges (lets say 5).
- An NPC Siege Team will provide fire for 10 minutes, then they despawn and someone need to enter and click the button again. If the player modify the aim and fire a shot, the siege team will take this new info, otherwise its what it had before.

I think the fire system is perfect, ie aim and arc. But having automated fire would be awesome.

Hell they could even reduce cost and damage if this was done, so we could set up large AI siege teams and focus on the actual fun of combat. 10 trebs pounding garrison would look awesome. Give them a bit random aim to avoid identical trajectories, but otherwise hit roughly where a player set it to auto fire.

Never going to happen though.

Just a second, I have to take away my 10K heal on a 8s cooldown, 8s of stability on 20s cooldown and 6 condition cleansers on 16s cooldown.

The rumor is most likely true, because it fits Anets style perfectly of throwing curveballs in terms of “balancing” for the Mesmer. Do we want a specific strong build nerfed? Yeah lets go ahead and nerf every other build to the ground while the stronger build is barely affected.

Phantasms are a major source of damage for all Mesmer builds and those 20% would be a flat 20% reduction of damage to the Mesmer, period. It would hit bunkers with already low damage the hardest.

But no worries, Mesmers are used to it. They always get shafted and retreat to complain about the long line of bugs in the illusions after nerfs, which never see a fix notice.

I’d love to see how the Warrior would react if the patch comes that increase 100b cooldown by 20% and reduce its damage by 20%. Or thieves getting their dagger/dagger damage reduced by 20%. I’m sure they will say “Yes, our damage is a little over the top and we do deserve it”?

It’s just a survey, there really aren’t any correct or incorrect answers. If I’d replied to this last night when I saw the thread first posted I would have said “None, besides the fact the character is male”. It’s just a survey.

Dont get me wrong, I think you are absolutely right. There are no correct or incorrect answers, only awkward answers.

But maybe I’m a poor judge. I’ve seen so much animé I barely even know what differentiate a man and a woman anymore.

Is it only against champions?

The targetting bug is very well known otherwise, but it happen with all targettable mobs/items in the game (until you restart the client). You can alttab through targets and target them with auto-attack, but you cant actually click anything to select a target. It got nothing to do with champs.

What do you mean “lead to”? Its always been far more profitable to kill the mobs that jormag toss out, tag the champs and wait for the wall to come down so that the champs “die” and you can grab their loot. If he does a second set of champs because people took their sweet time bringing down the wall, all the better. For the second part, only the champs are worth it though.

Jormag himself give crap loot in comparison, for me the mobs often yeilded 3-6x the reward in terms of cash.

Bug/lag perhaps? I thought dolly guards only had one level of upgrade and that’s with 2 guards.

Either way its an irrevelant buff if it is one – any player should be able to down a dolly before 4 weak NPCs kill them.

What? What aspect of our male characters do we consider masculine (as the survey specified it)? That’s a very odd question to ask.

Sounds like baiting to me. Answer none and its rather awkward as we would have created a male character that we dont recognize as masculine. Answer something and its just as awkward as it would describe what we like in a man.

Would “his strong tail” be an acceptable answer?

The strength is in comboing skills. 2, 4, 3 and shatter in that sequence should hit a target in a very short time period (thieves with 10K HP will melt in a second if they fail to avoid it, anyone else loose at least half their HP). Unload is quite pitiful in comparison, 100b has damage potential but is easily avoided and very announced. You can even augment the damage by popping mantra of pain in the same time, it doesnt interrupt what you are doing and can do maybe 3K damage against berserkers twice (or three times specced). It can be quite a nasty surprise to your opponent when you’re doing other stuff, like ressing, haha.

Anet doesnt release server population numbers, all you can go on is the somewhat iffy server list. But a very simple method to join a crowded server – join any of the top WvW servers. Elona, Vizunah, Seafarer, Desolation, take your pick.

Of course if you actually want to play WvW then you shouldnt go anywhere near those servers. Unless you like zergs and lag.

Until we have an in game system that lets players form private or guild forces it will always be easier to simply run with a zerg.

Aye. It gets more and more frustrating every time your 5 man team gets just a bit larger. So easy to get separated, no way to tell where we are other than vent/ts/guildchat (which is ridiculous). Easier to just follow the zerg.

I still dont understand why Anet done just cheese out and say outright “no we wont bother doing a more featured commander interface with guild tags etc” and increase group size in the simplest way possible. We know it can be done – sPvP has larger groups and entirerly different GUI. Lets say 20 people groups in WvW. Only show name and HP bar on the right side when groups go above 5 people (5 or below, just like it is now). Done, Anet just improved WvW by a factor of 10. Everyone can see the same target, everyone can see where they are on the minimap.

Yeah, 10/20/20/20 would probably be better.

Personally I’d replace the scepter/sword with greatsword for this type of build – far superior burst which gives the ability to nail runners, especially when you use crit/power armor. The scepter does… absolutely nothing.

You dont really need to change your build for bunker, just the gear – get full soldiers armor and trinkets as a secondary gear set, plus of course the staff. If you change to 0/30/20/20/0 you can mix a cleric/soldier set and go mantra healing at will (mantra cooldown and clone on dodge will conflict with only 20 points in precision, that’s why you want 30 points)

They have promised us a better way to get precursors for over half a year.

So dont hold your breath… Farm as usual, when you have the gold decide if you want to farm some more or simply buy it then and there. Its that simple.

If I had ingredients and all the gold to buy a precursor, I’d still make the legendary. Why? Because it’s always given you a goal in the game. If a way to craft a precursor comes… Dualwield legendaries. Make it another goal.

I hope that precursor prices tank because the prices has always been ridiculous but there will probably be some catch to precursor crafting/acquiring.

I dont think it’ll be too bad. 250 laurels + ectos + gold perhaps. Anet has to find some way to punish people that spent currency previously (such as laurels). They always do that. Or its going to be 1000 representation tickets/buttons or something. You didnt throw away/sell yours did you?

And how would it unbalance the weapons? Would blast finisher on mind spike suddenly make the greatsword OP compared to other Mesmer weapons? Its already the most used Mesmer weapon! They could just say damage reduced by 20%, blast finisher added if they want to take something in return.

But I would agree to a compromise – give blast finisher to GS 5 instead. Higher CD and something you generally want to hold on to until you need it.

I have found that mice with a large amount of buttons are pretty useles – and not very comfortable. So I am going the opposite way, lol. I use a Steelseries 6Gv2 as keyboard (black Cherry MX ftw) and a Steelseries WoW Cataclysm mouse. Lots of buttons on the mouse, 90% of them useless and in the way of my fingers. I only use the two thumb buttons. Going to change the aging mouse to something simpler. Func MS-3 if I want the palm shape (its so perfect for my hand and actually different to Mionix/SS Cata/all the other mouse with similar mold) or a Deathadder 2013. Probably the later for a change in style.

You would see people raging over the team chat because guild X or Y took them etc etc. Ofcourse, it would be nice for the enemy team to hold those for the extra WP, but that would be also only for the guild, so…

Why would it need a higher cooldown? Ignoring the obvious flawed prestige that doesnt work as a blast finisher (seriously, it dont), Mesmer has NO finisher.

Giving them 1 finisher on 1 weapon would hardly be unbalanced. Especially not since for example Guardian can do a blast finisher on hammer 2 with less than half the cooldown as GS 3. Lets not even begin to argue Thief shortbow that has zero cooldown.

So I do not see why you reason GS 3 would have higher cd just because its turned into a blast finisher.

In terms of “healing fields”, a Mesmer can AoE heal 2.7K HP (without healing power) around every 4s and have constant AoE regen up from Phantasm.

Average rank for the entire player base? I’m guessing 2. Maybe even 3.

Average rank for the very few people that actually play sPvP longer than daily? 25 seems just about right. When I play I see maybe ~3 30+ ranked out of 16 players in randoms. Tournaments/solo queues will of course have higher.

No idea what you are talking about in terms of “latter stages”. All sPvP ranks are the same. They give you some different gear as rewards, that’s all. Its not levels, they dont matter one iota. Yes, ranking is slow, but since it doesnt matter… Well you get the idea. They could completely remove ranks and no one but the hardcore “OMG YOU ARE RANK XX?!?!” would bat an eye.

Rank 20 would be ridiculous. Even rank 10 is alot of hours in sPvP. Get it in a day? Hahaha… sPvP isnt even done by 95% of the player base, lets not give them a ridiculous amount of credit for their awesomeness as PvPers.

The solution to the “problem” is real simple: better matchmaking and team balancing. Teams should be ranked like 40/36/28/32/37 vs roughly equal numbers, not 40/2/5/15/31 vs 1/5/3/3/50. Or of course two newbie teams with no higher ranks than 5-10 or something. If ranks end up bad and all over the place, then there would be one of two conclusions: The system is broken or there are no one playing but these players.

Good luck playing if its the last case – You’ll enjoy playing solo in solo tournaments when the other 4 players are cut out due to a silly rank requirement. Its in the name after all.

Replace Skritt, Tamini and the Krait with cappable fortresses that can be upgraded alot when claimed by a guild, including waypoints available to that guild. They dont give actual WvW score, only personal/guild score when your guild claims it and a small amount of guild points for every cycle your guild holds it.

Moa is, in fact, extremely OP in small scale combats (1v1, 2v1, 2v2), because shutting down an enemy for 10s is really gamechanging for an encounter.

For instance, imagine that a Mesmer wants to take the far point, guarded by an engineer. Average profession will try to take down the engineer taking more than 10s+ (it isn’t easy to kill an engineer), giving the enemy team more than enough time to help their teammate.

What about mesmer? Stealth (if you want to be sure), Moa and the point is yours.
Either you burst down the enemy, which isn’t hard with a shatter build and your enemy has no defensive skills up, or you just let him run away and neutralize the point.

In both cases, you’ve won. Just because you’ve used a single skill. No elite has this potential in this game, that’s why it should be really looked akittens

just too bad you can still dodge a shatter in Moa form, as well as easily kill a low-hp berserker Mesmer. Stupid OP Moa

Lol a stun-lock Warrior is far more dangerous to face than a Moa Mesmer in terms of getting stunned.

Actually Guardian can have perma swiftness or at the very least a 5-6 second downtime between shouts untraited. Not to mention an untargeted leap with the GS on a pretty short cooldown. I’d still much rather roam on my G than my mes.

Retreat gives 20s of swiftness on 60s cooldown. How do you get it to perma-swiftness?
Yes you can combine the staff with it too… Hence why its no longer called an easy way. The other classes dont need to limit themselves that much to reach +25%.

Lets sum it up shall we:

Classes with perma-speed (out of combat, not limited to certain weapons):
Engineer – +33% and perma-vigor from 20 trait points (10 optional)
Thief – +25% from signet
Warrior – +25% from 10 trait points
Elementalist – +25% from signet
Necromancer – +25% from signet
Ranger – +25% from signet
Mesmer – None
Guardian – None

In other words, a MAJORITY of the classes has easy perma-speed. Classes that are weak compared to Mesmer and Guardian? Uh… No. The others are just as strong. Why is the Mesmer and Guardian left out? No one knows. You can argue “oh but the Mesmer has all that combat movement!” and “All Guardians spec for immortality!”. No. They dont. Unless they trait/spec for it. Just like any other class that do have a “easy way out” like a signet. A Thief can suck in terms of stealth or they can have perma-stealth. A Necro can spec to out-tank a Guardian while also out-damaging him by alot. Exact same thing.

Nope, its a very simple reason why the Mesmer and Guardian wont see an easy way out like the other classes – they simply dont care about fixing the classes if its not a simple nerf or a buff. They cant even fix the bugs with the classes, such as iLeap on the Mesmer. Adding/changing a skill that isnt a nerf/buff? HA! Allow me to laugh.

And as a sidenote, of course you can get swiftness as both Guardian and Mesmer – Just use centaur runes, spec for boon duration, equip certain weapons (staff for guard, focus for mes, etc). All these things however limit them unlike the others – some of which can do the exact same thing. Warrior most notable – Warhorn gives perma-swiftness with little effort, yet the Mesmer focus does not because of the cooldown. Obvious bias even when the focus was buffed for speed and nerfed for utility?

And they still havent fixed the stacking issues with both the Mesmer focus and Guardian staff, yet a Warrior can blow on his horn all day stacking everything.

How to catch a runner

Oooooh staff/scepter… forget about it.

There are only two things that can catch runners (preferably both):
- Centaur runes (with mantra heal)
- Greatsword

Its as simple as that. Perma speed and the only ranged weapon a Mesmer has that can burst on command. The sword may be good but you cant catch crap with a buggy iLeap. Staff/scepter… I’m sorry but using the two slowest most defensive weapons definetly wont catch runners.

Replace MF gear with a fair amount of vitality on all.
Replace MF on runes with +gold.
Replace MF on food with +gold
Give us the ability to represent factions in both wvw and pve for other bonuses and +50% MF/hour, just like in the pavillion.
Up the global loot table by an eqvivalent of 30% MF

And there we go. Better loot overall for everyone, more gold income, no more MF on gear, buisness as usual if you represent (eqvivalent of wearing MF runes).

Will they do any of it? Nah they will probably just remove everything and charge 1200 gems for an infinite +30% MF boost.

I seriously hope we can reset the points in this patch then because this getting ridiculous. They just introduce more and more crap without giving us the option to spec it. It was just one reset when they first started with it, then nothing despite new mastery lines.

Players who run GS in dungeons are bad and should feel bad.

I run whatever I like in dungeons. If you dont spec for focus reflection, the sword/focus combo is just as good as your “poor” greatsword. For Warrior I’ve even used mace&sheild, something I never see nowadays!

It’s good to be bad.

I’d pick Guardian – Warrior – Mesmer in that order.

I main a Mesmer and while the GS is a decent weapon (I use GS/staff), its not really something you show off. Especially not with tacky effects exploding on the blade every time you attack. Granted the clones would wield it as well but still not worth it IMO. Only thing decent is playing a Norn and using the By-The-Power-Of-Greyskull animation of the iBerserker.

Warrior GS may be considered a good weapon, but I find it weak when not playing pure insta-kill berserker – which I rarely, if ever do. I prefer axes.

Guardian however would be my top pick. Flashy animations, melee and an important tool.

That said… In the end I’d still give Sunrise to my Mesmer so I can swap between Bifrost and Sunrise ^^.

In other words, give it to the class you play.

What’s wrong with this piken? Everytime u beat one of them in 1vs1 they run away with 5% HP and come back with theire guild! -.- cowards…

If your opponent is able to run away with 5% HP and come back with the entire guild then either they deserve to run away because you cant even kill them at 5% or their entire guild is standing 10m behind them wondering wtf you’re trying to do against their entire guild, lol!

Either way, fleeing 1v1 isnt so bad. In fact as a sluggish Mesmer without perma-speed like all the other bloody professions I expect people to run. Yesterday I saw 10 Miller flee from 3 Pikens of which only 1 Piken engaged them at first O.o. Half ran away for no apparent reason. Cudos to the few that stayed and fought (and of course died horribly).

warriors have 100x more utility, survivability and 10x the single target dps, they can also be more mobile with the right weapon sets, and over all have better weapon setups and more rounded talent tree..

And the Warrior would of course be considerably weaker if they could all that and also stealth every 3 second?

Oh wait. That’s the Thief. NVM.

Thats against a compact guild group, not a zerg. Scatter to the wind and engage a zerg they more than likely will scatter to the wind and you got a blobby mess.
