If I had a choice between getting rid of the fee or getting rid of the trip to a trainer, I’d probably take the latter. 3 silver means very little to me at this point in time. Finding a trainer is a pain in the proverbial donkey.
Of course, if they removed both that wouldn’t bother me at all.

the problem not lies in traits, but the stats distributed over 12 pieces of armor.
to maintain different sets of 12 pieces of armor for different builds is tedius.
i would rather make a new toon.
Deathmatch was working in GW1 because of the trinity.
In GW2 classes are too independent. Damage can’t be protted/healed. This mode would have no depth. The only thing I can think of is the healing-book of the guard.
it would be just like call of duty death match then perhaps?
heroes ascent tournament would be more suitable.
the teams would have to be balanced for all types of battles.
good old death match is nice too though.
I think this map does fine as a “for fun” map. Personally though, I despise the cannon on this map. If you could kill it, or something I might like it more. That is just how I feel towards it.

A lot of skills would definitely have to change in the absence of the downed state. Damage values and base health/armor will have to be re-calculated.

What if players had tools to prevent their allies from taking damage? That would certainly require more skill than to “go down” on someone and rub them.

Why is a player allowed to rally from a downed state when one of their targets that they hit is downed?

well i agree that downed state is not very balanced at the moment. some balancing would help!
While this doesn’t really address the whole issue, downed state is one of the things that could really use improvement on warriors. If a warrior goes down, chances are he’s going to get stomped.
Now, if you made downed state 2 knockdown all enemies around him… we’d have a fighting chance there.
Another idea (not to be used in conjunction with the other idea, because I think it’d be a bit much) is for vengeance not procing to simply return you to down state instead of full death like illusion of life.
One of the funniest vengeance experiences I think I had was a couple days ago, where both teams went down at mid (3v3, everyone down) and I was able to vengeance stomp someone to rally my team and ultimately win the fight… of course, despite saving the day, I still died.

because the downed state is considered within the context of the overall class. so strong ‘up state’ classes have weak downed state.
or because bad downed states are bad, and nothing about them has ever made much sense anyways, so why not?

Though the warriors problems don’t rely on its downstate, but rather on its sustain and the concept of this melee-class in general. EG: no protection, no efficient condition remove, heavily affected by chill/cripple because they can’t land their gap-closers anymore.If a warrior is slowed once he won’t do damage for its duration. Basically this is the issue why warriors can’t be on the same level as other classes.

perhaps the warrior will be of some threat after all if the warriors need to be downed 4 times within a minute in order to defeat it completely. plus each time the warrior comes back, he comes back with full adrenaline and ready to unleash a burst skill!
provided that the warrior rallies 3 times due to 50% chance or each time he rallied, he killed someone.

Dont know if the last one is joke or not :p . In my opinion, the downed state from war is not problem – those ppl will still cry its not viable. If anything i would increase heal on shouts and regeneration on banners and maybe also regeneration on heal signet and as long as lyssa runes are as they are warrior dont need more condition removals :p. Lol even now its hard to use Vengeance.. you can knockdown someone 1 time (most of the time you dont because stability etc) but lets say you do knock him down 1 time.
After that he will try to stomp you down, at that time you still cant use Vengeance and you spend your knockdown..
So if you changed it to 20 sec.. well goodbye to vengeance because you will/can NEVER use it anymore

but in 1 vs 1 situation, the warrior will have better chances of pulling off sweet vengeance no? provided if the enemy is slow to start stomping.
how about increasing the knock down time to 3 seconds?
Remove the cast time on Vengeance. Make it an instant effect upon activation.

Bug:
The bonus Frozen duration is likely not intended. It should most likely be +15% boon duration like Rune of the Monk and Rune of the Water, as it carries the same lesser rune version consistencies as them and caters to a defensive rune set which generally has defensive boons and boon duration.

the fight resets when i rezed myself by killing necro from 2v1 to 1vdownstated ranger.

the fight was far from over.
the ranger, though downed, is not defeated yet.
now, imagine how the ranger would feel, if, moments from finishing you off, your team mate came and revived you, brought you back to your feet, and proceed to stomp the ranger down.
once people accept that the down state is part of the game, they will come to accept their glorious defeat in battle.
hmmm more maps with under water is nice.
perhaps 30% land and 70% water then.

i took them both down and im almost down too so i placed a LB f1 before getting downed, so i can win this fight,
i do manage to get necro dead and rezed myself, guess what happened next?
ranger and ranger’s pet did so many damage to me that i only got to land 2 hit on him and i got downed again, i was like oh well he has like 1% left anyway,
guess what…that pet started rezing him, and i was like oh well, that pet cant rez forever anyway, it must be like guardians 3 which has a time limit,
but NO it kept rezing him forever, AND it was behind the ranger, so i can’t even interrupt it. tell me how this is not BS

we are not wanting to win 1v4 unless the 4 drool. we just dont think its fun. its team oriented sure, on paper its great, in practice it just isnt. we’d rather have the team mechanics gw1 had, you know, fun ones.
i get that some people like downed state and find it fun. those people are a minority, and gw2 pvp is turning into a small community instead of a thriving esport because anet isnt getting this.
guild wars 1 is still online though it is automated now. there are people still playing the original guild wars 1.

it is due to ncsoft ordering anet to focus on PvE RNG boxes because at the moment, the PvE RNG boxes have the best profit margin for them.

I see what you tried there, but in my opinion it is still too easy. To gather 20 things, craft ten things, eat 25 things (maybe that already includes the 10 items to craft), recycle ten things and throw a few things in the forge.. humm.. that is done very easily.
I did not read the arguments why dailies feel forced or are too “difficult”(?), but should it be that easy?
The reward contains one laurel, monthly only give ten laurels and are most of the time more work than ten dailies (in my opinion). The reward should reflect the work/ time you do and if dailies are too easy they also will have to rework the monthlies?
aye, i believe we all know the current dailies are already very easy and not at all very hard or time consuming to complete.

The dailies are not very difficult to accomplish. Sometimes you need a little bit more time, but it is not truly impossible to do them each day (if you don’t expect them to be finished after 5 minutes^^).Maybe it would be another option (if it is really an issue for some players) to extend the selection to choose from either by adding more dailies to the existing 46 or by extending the 5 from 11 to 5 from 15 (or whatever).

because 1 = gather resources, which is always fixed.
so for those who complain much, maybe make it 5 + 10

downed state is great for chasing players away from this game’s pvp
i would say its good for chasing those who cannot comes to terms with this game’s core game play feature.
If, in the alternative, you’d rather encourage participation, the downed state should be removed from instanced pvp.
from what i have gathered, those who seek the removal of downed state:
- wants to 1 vs 2, 1 vs 3, 1 vs 4, come out alive and brag about it
- complains when they did not finish their job properly
Its not intuitive and its not fun in casual pvp.
for you, and few others i guess. it promotes team work and its fun to work together in casual pvp.
if you were so right about how downed state is “OK” then the pvp side of this game wouldn’t be tanking so hard would it?
downed state is working as it is intended to be.
your so called claim of “pvp side of this game tanking” is due to other reasons, mainly with ncsoft realizing PvE have much better monetization options. the very successful RNG boxes is a very good example.
i think ncsoft realized that the PvP part of guild wars 2 cannot be monetized effectively at this stage while PvE part of guild wars 2 is still ripe for harvesting.
we will see what happens in the future.
at the moment, i play guild wars 2’s sPvP as how i would play team fortress 2.
go in, get some kills, get some action, blow up ppl with the cannon. get out, continue with PvE, WvW, then enough of guild wars 2 for the day.
time to play other games.
next day, continue. gw2, then stop. then other games.
