The anime ended because they ran out of manga content, made me sad.

Interesting idea. However, because the maps would be MUCH smaller in GW2 than they are in the show, it would be a much more obvious team up and would quickly turn into a 2v1. People would probably agree beforehand. You’d have to implement like, no PMing or map chat before game, and somehow have a big enough map to spawn everyone apart from each other.

anyway, yeah, the few sPvP maps are very small.

most PvE maps are considered quite big if there are only 9 players in it.

Its very easy to get the armor guys, like seriously. If you want it that badly go do sw cf for an hour or kill the vinewrath, you will get the pieces in no time.

Doesn’t matter, it’s still not fair for people who already completed it to be rewarded 5 less pieces of armor than people who haven’t done it yet.

“The Silverwastes PvP reward track Carapace Armor Box now contains all pieces of Carapace armor instead of just the gloves.”

hmmm i thought it was only one piece of the armor, but nooo it is every piece !

and they just kitten off the players who have already done the track.

There’s simply no way it’s due to their skill level. It’s not like we’ve seen Ithilwen’s gameplay video and know that there are many areas that could use improvement. /s

well she did post her gameplay video in the previous season, many people did take a look at it. and she basically plays with one hand due to a past injury in the other hand.

Because let’s face it, you’re not going to “beat the system”, but you can crush every 1v1 and 1v2 you get into, vastly increasing your odds of winning (especially in Sapphire).

yeah, being able to play a profession that is able to win every 1v1 or even 1v2 will have definitely higher chances to making through sapphire and getting into ruby.

you speak as if there is no skill involved, but clearly you do not speak for those who belong in emerald and sapphire.

In amber you aren’t able to lose pips. That means even if you are kinda the weakest player out there, with a losing rate of 99,9%, as long as there is just one game you get carried by others, you will make progress. You are winning one game then lose 100, it doesn’t matter, you will still cross the border for amber.

And this isn’t removing skill? Are you really trying to say that?

1 weak player in the team can throw the whole game for the team with that player.

in 2 of the games i played, there was this one particular core necromancer (does not have hot perhaps?) that kept on dying, had zero score for the first game i encountered that necro and almost zero score in the second game, i got careless and let that necro decapped something.

in the second game, right off the start, that lone necro charged straight into the four of us in the middle point graveyard in foefire, while the other team mates are way behind. that necro died within seconds of course.

and yes we won both games.

So what stops a legendary from stomping amber newbies? how would the amber newbie feel being on the receiving end of all these legendary players ruining their games?

if there are too many legendary kittenet back to amber, they will end up fighting one another.

no games will be ruined.

1. There aren’t that many legendaries online at the same time (hence 20-minute queues) so if they do queue, they will most likely be on the same team and will stomp the amber team

2. Amber would be a mix of players with a large range of skill levels which will essentially mean newbies will be getting stomped left and right against legendaries, diamonds, rubies, sapphire, etc.

3. You’re about to replicate the problem Anet fixed by giving us different starting positions at the beginning of the season…

1. that can be fixed by treating them as legendary division when the match making system is working its magic.

for example, a legendary kittenet back to amber, queues, the match making will attempt to throw the amber (legend) player into a legend pool of players, if no suitable pool found, then diamond, then ruby, sapphire, emerald, finally amber etc.

basically the match making pip range of the reset amber (legend) player would range from amber to legend, this would eliminate queue time.

2. refer to my reply in #1 well basically all lower divisions might have a mix of players with large range of skill levels.

3. i would not call giving players 20 – 60 or infinity minutes queue time fixing a problem.

You get a legendary backpack as reward. If you would be able to reset to amber, it would mean there is absolutely no skill involved to get this thing anymore (the level of skill to get it is very low already, tbh, just don’t lower it even more).

you still need to be able to win the fights in amber.
you still need to be able to maintain some win streaks in order to progress in emerald and sapphire.

you speak as if there is no skill involved, but clearly you do not speak for those who belong in emerald and sapphire.

If you would be able to reset to amber, I say you should
1. don’t let any division crossing count for the achievement that you have already done (so spamming amber for the achieve won’t work)
2. don’t get rewards for crossing divisions you already did

1. no. this is the whole point of resetting back to amber, so that they can happily finish off the division crossing achievement in the lower divisions (amber, emerald and sapphire) so ruby will be free of them.

2. no. the whole point of resetting back to amber is so that those who want to farm rewards can do so, instead of advancing high enough a division then stop completely. if players are able to reset back to amber, they might keep playing, keeping the player population healthy.

instead of restricting rewards, aim to drastically improve the rewards at higher divisions (ruby, diamond and legendary)

if you advanced to ruby solo queue mostly and have win lose rate around 50% i say you would be okay.

but i think you may need much higher win lose rate in order to progress to diamond or legendary.

not everyone can reach legendary division, or want to.
for me, ruby is my legendary division and once i reach there, i’m happy.
and i would be happy to reset at ruby and go back to amber again.

legendary division players kittenet can have extra prestige or something like you said. for me, i enjoy being in lower divisions due to safety tiers and the players there are more similar to my skill level.

i would gladly stay reset once i hit emerald to stay in amber forever. faster queue times too. plus only lower division players amber emerald play stronghold more often. once you hit sapphire, very much less players queue for stronghold.

i agree with not resetting MMR.

please let us reset division back to amber (at our own free will, any time, any where) while a season is underway!

the good:
1. division crossing achievement is no longer a problem for many
2. players who hit a wall (ruby, diamond, legendary) can start again
3. constant influx of players at lower divisions
4. players can party and queue together with their casual pvp friends
5. you can stay in amber forever if you want to
6. players don’t need to play their alternate accounts anymore

the bad:
1. what bad?
2. its all good
3. no bad

i think long queue and short queue always mean its going to be bad, for one of the teams

maybe blowout in your favor, maybe the baddies, but usu its going to be a blowout

hmm long queue i think higher chance to have higher MMR difference between the 2 teams.

but short queue should be less likely right ?
as in it kinda means the match maker found 10 people with similar MMR (with the pip range) or something like that.

i think if u log in, go into HotM, queue, and w/in 15 secs it pops, that would mean a group of people were already picked and it needed to fill in a spot and you were in that gap.

i think of it as, not looking for a good fit for you, but it had a group of people that u happen to fall into their range

seems like they got a bugged player, maybe keyboard or mouse malfunction so its basically a 5 vs 4.

we opened with 1 home 3 mid 1 treb mid (me, i jumped onto the treb and started raining rocks on mid) the dh came for me, i think he stared at me for a few seconds before attacking me, maybe he was laying traps or something i dunno. i fought with the dh for a bit, then their ele came, however, we capped both home and mid by then. seems like they abandoned mid and came for me who was trebbing.

anyway, i can’t handle 2 so i fled up some stairs to hide and heal back up. feeling better, i got out of hiding, saw the ele who was now low on health after being attacked by one of my team mates, i assisted a bit and the ele was downed.

i ran up to mid, we got one team mate camping there, i look out the window, seems like we were losing home, so we got mid, but lost sides for a short while as they took our home.

so then i jumped out to grab the repair kit, then realize mid is kinda safe, i dropped the repair kit and went to check out far, seems like there is one reaper there, nvm, i’ll try my luck.

what the … that reaper is not on point, but hiding at a corner? auto running ? i start shooting arrows and decapping far. still auto running into the corner.

as i typed “sir, what are you doing?” in /say chat, the ele respawned and started attacking me, along with the dh, but far was capped, well, i dun wanna die to a 1v2 or 1v3 in case the bugged reaper started attacking so i ran and hid at the stairs near their spawn.

the dh chased me, we fought a bit but i put down the dh, more of my team mates came along and we started butchering them at far and spawn camping them.

the match became a 5 v 4 as the bugged player was able to move from their spawn.

after 3 capping and killing them at spawn, the match ended in our victory, and i finally graduated from emerald into sapphire !

i can finally graduate emerald into sapphire !

now i just need 25 more pips to reach ruby !

10.33 pm now.

too much adrenaline in my blood.
no more ranked for tonight.

otherwise i can’t sleep.

we need more power creep in the game !

basically, allow some skills to be both leap and blast finishers!
because, it makes more sense !!!

i’ll start off with some examples !

warrior hammer f1 – earthshaker (blast > leap + blast)
engineer rifle 5 – < ? name ? > (leap > leap + blast)
druid staff 3 – < ? name ? > (blast > leap + blast)
daredevil staff 5 – vault ( ? > leap + blast)
guardian hammer ? – < ?

well i can’t remember the skill names of the professions that i don’t play that often but ya all get the idea right ?

for the 100k rank points achievement, i definitely need to play more.
need about 1.3k rank points per day over 25 days. so i need to play a bit more than usual if i want to clear this within this season.

How do you complete them when moving beyond your division is impossible?

well you need to have crossed over enough divisions in both season 1 and season 2.

i reached ruby in both season 1 and season 2.

i’m in 18/20 emerald, need 1 more win to reach sapphire.
and i need 2 more division crossings.
if i can’t reach ruby this season 3, i have to at least reach sapphire in season 3 and emerald in season 2.

they really should change it such that if a disconnected player comes back to help their team win, the disconnected player should get a pip for winning, and extra pip from win streaks as well.

Bonus Suggestions:

  • Sufficiently large lose streaks should drop a player down 1 division.

no. players already lose divisions in legendary division, the other divisions are fine.

  • Ending a losing streak should not award an extra pip.

this is only acceptable if there are other reliable methods to gain extra pips.
so, no.

currently, the other ways to earn extra pips is to get lucky with a win streak.

Solution: We need something that is pretty, that isn’t embarrassing to display on our characters, that shows our accomplishments at the end of the season.

we already have the pvp badges behind our names. that’s plenty enough.

wont help because it uses the highest ranked player in the party. If you are legendary, your ruby player will counts as a legendary, too

ah, i dun know any active legendary players that would wanna queue together with me anyway.

anyway, i think queue time at the moment is still okay, 12.37pm (gmt+8:00) now, just had a match where the other team had a player who accidentally turned off the computer.

it was 5v4 for a while until the 5th player come back but the snowball was already too big for them to do anything.

the match was full of greens and yellows on both sides, so i say match making is working well, at this time of the day, and the queue time is within a minute.

however, at night times (10pm onwards, gmt+8:00) for me, the queue time can go up to 5 minutes or more, and the match are greens and blues instead.

why is foefire so popular?
