The matchmaking is causing the queue times. It seems to have the biggest effect on the upper divisions. Coincidently, it was the upper divsion people who pushed for this matchmaking.

i’m at 16/20 emerald and i’m having 5 minutes queues.
this is unacceptable.

i demand queue time under 1 minute !!!!

The majority of players are in Ruby and Diamond so outside of those ranges will suffer longer queue times, since pvp player base is so low.

one way to help with queue times in lower Divisions/ spread out through divisions is to allow loss of division so people don’t get dumped into 1-2 divisions and they are placed moreso where they belong instead of being artificially bumped up in division.

i don’t play alot,

around wins 18/30+ games played unlike some others who have played 400 games in a month.

surely they can speed up the match making process by grabbing whoever is nearest in pips instead of making everyone wait so long.

Healer ele is bad for climbing, people don’t know how to utilize heal when just soloq-uing. Play something that can kill other players easily and you will be able to climb.

I don’t eat 5k direct dmg by attacking someone that is afk. I do eat around 5k condi dmg if i attack condi build thanks to passives/runes etc. Then we also have unblockable and undodgeable condis.
When i fight direct dmg builds i can dodge big hits, heal up, block them etc. When you fight condi builds every hit, every AA applies crap ton of condis, they go through blocks, dodges and reduce amount of healing you do not to mention they have control effect similar to stun, prevent you from attacking (confusion), prevent you from moving (torment, cripple, chill), increase CDs, decrease your dmg etc. Let’s not forget that is impossible to dodge mesmer shatters atm due to delay and clone speed at 200+%. Condis are way more easier to land, are way more frequent and have way more effect than direct dmg hits.

but he says we dont need more condi removal options!

No need to. Condition are fine atm. Conditions in this meta have no inherent advantage over power in this meta. Condi Zerker, Chronophantasma and Corruptionmancer are pretty much the only meta condi builds.

Ragezerker can get hardfocused and has almost no disenage oppurtunity.
Burning arrows is just trash.
Condi spam thief is far inferior to it’s D/P and S variant.

We have sigil of purity, sigil of generosity, rune of lyssa, rune of the soldier, rune of leadership.

Then we have runes that affect condi duration. Rune of hoelbrak, rune of melandru rune of resistance.

It’s fine. Conditions should be able to burst as well. Espically since some classes lean to bieng more condi based then not atm. If Power herald can burst, then condi’s should have the same options.

but not every have shouts !

having more choices would be good !

and condi still can burst after they wear out the victim’s condi removals.

Purification and cleansing sigil clear condis too. I think condi clears on runes are a bit too much . Condi removal should be all skill based , not passive . Like runes that passively add conditions like Krait runes and Perplexity.

there is only puri sigil in sPvP.
the on swap remove condition sigil is only pve wvw and not sPvP.

no, condi clear runes are fine.
soldier’s rune is not passive.
you are required to use shouts in order to remove conditions.
shouts have decent recharge time.

we need more condition removal options as condition application is too easy and abundant at the moment.

Lyssa and leadership runes have condi cleansing 6th bonuses if that that’s what you’re after.
And there are quite a few sigils that clear/transfer conditions too.

both lyssa and leadership relies on activating elite skill which have long recharge time, plus the 6th rune bonus themselves have a cooldown of 45 seconds.

there are only 2 sigils in sPvP which remove conditions, and the recharge time is not really that good.

at the moment we only have soldiers rune which remove 1 condition from the shouter and nearby allies.

175 vitality
100 toughness
Shouts remove a condition from each affected ally.

can we have more types of such runes?
but for different type of skills.

for example, say, physical skill ?

love the RA nod where if your team wins you keep that team if you win i think that would be a great idea

that only worked for guild wars 1 random arenas because the fights are usually over within a minute, plus the queue time is under 30 seconds.

it will not work with guild wars 2 5v5 conquest because a match is about 10 minutes average and queue time is about 2 – 5 minutes or even higher.

it simply will not work.
unless we have less than 30 seconds queue times and matches that conclude within a minute.

it would work if it was… RA. no respawn, deathmatch, no mmr just random matchups

since fights were just quick and fun, it didn’t matter if you had 10 straight losses, that was only 10-15 mins. w/ gw2 conquest, thats only 1 match. w/ gw2 conquest 10 straight losses = ~100 min match time, 30 min queue, or over 2 hours = misery

yup.

gw1 ra 4v4 annihilation was fast and nice.

unfortunately, they only balance gw2 for 5v5 conquest and nothing else.

have the cap point only reachable by water, but once it’s reached it’s above water in a cave. I don’t think offpoint water fight’s will throw things that fast out of balance then..

as a casual pvp player,

i was looking forward to the one ranked game each night in order to progress through emerald and sapphire.

i finally got a nice little win streak (4 wins) and gotten into a game,
no one except me talked during the first 2 minutes,
nevermind, we opened with 1 home (me, i said i go home since it was silence) 4 mid,
turns out the other team’s skill level was below our team,
we wiped them at mid,

we were killing them very easily,
leading 200 – 70+

then my internet decided to die on me.

hmm but yeah you are right, shopping for people with less pips (lower divisions) will happen if we base pip gains on pips difference.

well this concept is based on ultra street fighter 4 ’s player points (pp) and battle points (bp) but i guess it is hard to work here since gw2 spvp is 5v5 and not 1v1 2d combat.

to load back into the map faster,
you can:

lower your graphic settings
install windows and guild wars 2 on kitten

i use lowest graphic settings (most settings, except a few) for gw2 and the faster load time helps with getting back in time.

2. enters on going 15 seconds timer to form a 5 player team
“finding team” (ignores both division / total pips and MMR)
“team found” (restart 15 seconds timer until a team is formed)
3. enters on going 15 seconds timer to find opponent
“finding opponent” (ignores both division / total pips and MMR)
“opponent found” (restart 15 seconds timer until opponent is found)

5. profit !

= pip gains and losses =
1. total pips of players are added up
2. winning team gain half the difference in pips if losing team have more pips

red team pips = 10 + (15+20+25+30+35) + (15+5) + (15+20) + (15+19) = 224
blue team pips = (15+10) + (15+20+15) + (15+20+25+15) + (15+20+25+30) + (15+20+25) = 300

so
red 224 vs 300 blue

half the different in pips = 76 / 2 = 38

if blue team wins, each member earns 1 pip, since they have more pips
all red team members loses 1 pip for losing

if red team wins, each member earns 1 pip for winning, plus their team earns extra 38 pips for winning against a team with more pips.

but 38 / 5 = 7 each and 3 extra
so each red team players earn 1 + 7 pips while
each blue team players lose 1 + 7 pips
(amber will not lose pips)
(emerald and sapphire will not lose tiers)
(all will not lose divisions, except legendary)

2 man parties pips are multiplied by 2
3 man parties pips are multiplied by 3
4 man parties pips are multiplied by 4
5 man parties pips are multiplied by 5

since many people are saying pips do not represent skill so why not try something new in year 2 or season 5 ?

Also please fix the quarry node, the area is riddled with flat terrain that still leaves you with no valid path. Puts all port classes at a serious disadvantage and does not allow for fair play to occur.

i think waterfall also have a lower spot to hide where projectiles can’t hit. and unaware defenders may think you have left the point but you are still hiding there.

Similar issue on Khylo but different reasons. There are huts you can jump up on to get to mid supposedly faster if you’re a skilled jumper (lol) than the other side. Can’t recall which side, sorry.

actually the huts is more prone to slipping if you are not careful or latency issues.

the barrel is actually faster and less prone to slip.

so far, i played 26 games, won 14 games, and just only had my first win streak of 3 games.

ahhahahaah well they are not that bad actually.

i think other factor could be
age (1981 born)
not having jedi reflexes (can’t play “complex” professions like ele / thief / guardian etc)
very casual mindset (happy to reach ruby in both season 1 and season 2)
oceanic ping perhaps ? (average 200-300ms ping)

well those and plus i dun exactly copy the builds 100% from metabattle but refer to them and fine tune to my own casual play style.

at least i dun come to the forum and rage about mmr hell though. i think.

the problem with those counters is that because people generally thought stability (and resistance) was too easily removed, the good traits and utilities that provide either of them mostly hand out short duration and frequently refreshing stacks of those 2 boons.

its all right as necro scepter auto can corrupt boon.

i always hated that part about legendaries.

the requirement for 8 × 250 tier 6 fine crafting materials.
absolutely ridiculous.

sure i may have 3.5k gold but i ain’t spending any on buying those tier 6 fine crafting materials.

The Predator was worth it XD (Rodgort the first well before that)

I’m never going to want gold for anything else ever (done with the game aside from the casual pvp), so might aswell enjoy blasting people on a rifle war

hmm aye the predator makes nice pew pew sound but i prefer the thok thok sound of toy rifle plus i’m really a miser who enjoys watching my wallet gold climbing up steadily.

the only time i really splurged much was the winters presence. for that one it i spent 600++ gold or more on buying gift and drinks. in the end i over bought and had to sell back. i guess back then i like the snow effect on my necro, well reaper was stronk back then.
