We’ll probably find out on Monday.
Patience.
I would like some hoods.
If they decide not to bring them in though, you can still use the phantom hood.
Also, they’re not headbands. They’re blindfolds (small difference, I know). I very much like them but again: We want hoods!
2:17 to 2:27. Engi just stands there while Rev auto attacks him to death. He wasn’t stunned and he wasn’t immobilised. He just didn’t seem to feel like moving out of the way.
Meanwhile, his mesmer friend (who was in stealth as of 2:19) ran away and could be seen at quite a distance at 2:27 – still running away.
Real pros.
This wasn’t a 1v4. These players were disorganised enough that it just became a 1v1, then immediately another 1v1, then another 1v1 and so on…
In fact, the extra players in those 1v1s were just helping our protagonist. In one case he went from less than 1/3 health to full in literally 1 second. If they bothered to pay attention it would have been just 1/3 + 1900 or whatever the base heal is.

also glint/shiro isnt optimal (for max dps).
Could you please explain that? I can’t see what other combinations would do more dps.
Jalis has low dps.
Ventari has no dps.
Mallyx has some decent condition damage but with just torment (and a little poison), I can’t see how it would out-do impossible odds or the boons/active effects from facets.
It’s 3900 health over 3 seconds. It’s not a reset button.
Let’s try not to exaggerate in this supposedly, ‘Objective’ discussion.
I personally found crystal hibernation very underwhelming. It really decimated my offensive momentum and anyone who isn’t part-orangutan can figure out how to take advantage of a 3 second downtime if they don’t have unblockables.
I agree with everything you’ve said. +1
I want FEAR.
Please?
Can it just insta-kill everyone? It would save us all so much time.
It might make it too boring that way. Gotta make it so you can let them at least feel like they can win (but really there is no hope).
You’re right. We should build them up so that we can cripple them emotionally by taking away their hope at the end.
You are diabolical.
Can it just insta-kill everyone? It would save us all so much time.
The teleport is fine and just like the other skills, but the problem is how spammable it is meaning you have 0 chance to escape a fight unless you have stealth. I think the skill should not teleport you closer to the target if they are out of range. Allowing this to happen gives Rev god like mobility.
Ha! You think stealth can save you?!
Gaze of Darkness. There is NO escape!
How the kitten do you get a 10k hit with hammer?
I want to do that!
Go to my post history, in the thread about the hammer in WvW I posted the WvW build and the SPvP build I ran.
Oh. WvW. I thought you were being serious.
How the kitten do you get a 10k hit with hammer?
I want to do that!
Rain, just make a video of you wrecking everybody. Do it with a group of 9 other skilled and intellectually honest players who are familiar with the Rev.
Be honest and don’t edit out bits that don’t fit your argument. Then maybe we can do this (more or less) scientifically.
I can’t believe we’re back to discussing UA.
Rain, have you actually used Unrelenting Assault on a person who wasn’t a complete moron?
It’s so easy to ignore UA. I can’t tell you how many times my UA has just been shaken off like it was nothing by literally every profession.
You can still use the Glint elite for preventing stomps and ress. It’s pretty effective.
I’m glad the displacement is gone. It was definitely a great idea but it was way too easily abused. The new one is still very good. Lots of chill is always nice.
It’s pretty easy. I normally play ele and engi. I’d say the rev is lower-middle tier difficulty. I’ve hardly ever had any problems with energy, even if I’m not actively trying to conserve it. The 20 skills you have are pretty easy to keep track of once you commit them to memory.
Engineer is still easily the most complicated profession. Easily.
It’s fine. I like it.
It doesn’t bother me at all. Quite a few people were complaining about it both this and last beta weekend.
By the way, your charr looks incredibly hot with that juggernaut.
If everyone you’re fighting is just dropping when you press 3, it means your opponent is incredibly bad at the game. It has nothing to do with the Rev.
Glint, Sword/Shield.
There’s just nothing better than seeing that big scary dragon pop up and throw away all the people trying to ressurect each other.
It’s working fine for me.
Nah bwe2 I face tanked and destroyed everything on my tempest but people called me a troll and said tempest is garbage go away
It was garbage in bwe2. You’re a troll.
I tried tempest out a bit. Air/Water/Tempest, Sceptre/Focus and cantrips.
It’s definitely not as bad as it was before. It’s not amazing but it’s definitely not that bad!
I too am enjoying this.
Can’t you just build one for yourself?
If someone just gives you one, you’ll probably understand is less anyway.
Those mobs were incredibly easy.
I think you might just be using a bad build.
I dislike it because it’s always on even if you don’t have Glint Legend equipped.
Nope. It disappears when you switch legend.
Why would Herald want an arrowhead?
The dragonhunter symbol isn’t exactly inspired but the dragon head fits much better on Herald.
I’ve been testing Mallyx out for a while and I agree.
Embrace the Darkness isn’t bad but unyielding anguish is just better nearly all the time.
I’m really enjoying using Unyielding anguish with Unrelenting Assault. It’s absolutely devastating in conquest. EtD, not so much.
Nn celestial form Glyph of equality becomes a stunbreak. I think that’s about it.
Weirdest and least well thought out thread I’ve seen all day.
Thank you for your contribution.
Useless.
Cooldown relative to power.
It’s nice to see that the cooldowns are indeed a lot lower for the Rev but I agree with Mightybird. I don’t see what we can get from this information and the way it’s presented.
B+ for effort!
I’ll be swapping from ele to Rev (or Druid).
I think it’ll be mostly the people coming from a profession with an elite spec that just isn’t good enough as evidenced by the fact that the top three so far are the thief, ele and guardian.
I will never surrender. In fact, if they add a surrender button to the game, I quit.
I think that thing under the boot might be an arrowhead which would make sense for the dragon hunter.
The boot must be daredevil. All the others are accounted for.
Druid should involve more pet mechanic
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

That is ridiculous.
“It’s not nice and neat and tidy so BURN IT DOWN”? That’s the idea I’m taking away from this thread.
Why do we need to test other people’s builds in order to find problems?
Is it to test whether or not someone else’s build is good? 99% of people will just use the first metabattle build they can get their hands on anyway.
I don’t get the point of this.
Druid is more about burst healing in key moments as it takes a while to build up astral force to enter celestial avatar, Ventari is more about sustain healing.
I rather see it the other way around:
Ventari is limited to a small pool of energy with a nice on demand burst healing, while not really healing much over a large duration of time since you would run out of energy quickly.
While Druid can basically heal already quite good with just the weapon skills already and provides for a nice burst but also quite long burst healing after building up astral force.
I also see it this way.
There are new pets that look very fun and there’ll be some balance changes to the core professions. They’ll be on twitch later.
Don’t worry!
Has anyone noticed the enormous similarities between Gw2 druid and WoW moonkin? I mean you can even change the ‘Moonkin’ form to ‘Astral’ form with the glyph of stars.
It was pretty much the only thing that disappointed me. I too would have very much preferred a more earthly theme. The lack of synergy with the rest of the profession, I still just don’t care about.
I’m not sure about: “The best elite in the game” but it’s certainly very good. I’m really looking forward to testing it.
Why not both???
They both could be teamed up to create so much healing, jesus would be jealous
Or you could have two druids.
Even if rev has better hp pool it is clearly less tanky than guard. He is VEEEEERY squishy to condi and mobility is his key for survive.
Rev can push out a 100% up-time in resistance with Mallyx which allows them to 1 v 2 much better then a Guard would.
Rev also has nice dmg reduction through their traits and can maintain a huge up time in protection. Rev also has their Crystal Hibernation buffed (no break bar anymore) with a 20 second cool down on their shield
Their Ventari tablet is buffed with all their utilities instant, have a 3 condi cleanse on a 5 second cooldown, plus more condi cleanses with their staff and condi dmg mitigation through their other stances.
Are they more tankier then Guards?
It is still hard to tell but to say they are “clearly” less tanky and squeeeshy to condis is not true at all.
You obviously don’t know very much about the Rev. If you have played with Mallyx at all then you’d know that it by no means gives you immunity to conditions.
You should also know that Ventari is easily the most difficult and annoying legend to use. The heals and condition cleanses are very expensive. We don’t just get 3 conditions cleansed every five seconds automatically. Combine that with the fact that it’s extremely difficult to maneuver the tablet to where it needs to be in this era of mobility and you’ll realise that this is in no way a better option than any condition cleanses the guardian has.
Condi damage mitigation? You mean the 20% reduction in damage from the -7 upkeep hammers that disappear when you go near a wall. Good one.
People seem to think that the revenant can keep up permanent protection but nobody in their right mind would keep up the Glint elite for too long, especially if you have any other upkeeps active (very likely).
Crystal Hibernation: You seem to think that all revs will use this skill every 20 seconds. What you need to know is that a lot of people deem it very risky to use since you cannot move. Again, nobody in their right mind is going to use this every 20 seconds. The energy restriction is also a reasonably large factor.
MESSAGE TO ALL GUARDIANS: If you have to be upset about any profession making you obsolete, go and look at the druid. Every skill they have is a healing skill.
Druid is far and away a lot better than Ventari for support. But really, there were very few people who were genuinely going to use Ventari anyway.
I guess it’ll just be useful when you don’t have a druid on hand.
I think I’ll try out Nomad. No damage but there’ll be a hell of a lot of survivability and support with ranger now.
