And you should have learnt what “lag” in MMO terminology means. You would have known that it has nothing to do with player’s computer.

The idea is still valid however, just because he doesn’t know that the lag is server side not on our side doesn’t mean he should be berated for it.
I suppose we should hail you for you’re apparent wizard knowledge of all MMO terminology and your possible influence in coining such terms.

My guess is a lvl 76 exotic the ring (junk) and the bag, but yeah I agree they will not flood the market with that many precursors.

Now I just want to do the event, that way I can still get the junk and bag and a chance for the precursor I need >.>

It wasn’t even the crashing I work during the day couldn’t do it when it was first active, then after I learn overflows still had it running I try there, found 1 fought for about an hour and 30, got booted for a random GW2 error, then I get into another one fight for another hour or so only to be kicked for a new build..

Perhaps the change is that so many people were dissappointed with the bugs, resets, untested content and new build when people were still trying to take down the ancient karka for their first time that each server will lose half of its population via people not logging in anymore.

First off. Great event other than the lag and bugs. I love the new dungeon.

Secondly, to all those who are crying about not getting a pre cursor. Mind you, I did not get one either, however I placed an offer on the TP for 165g and it netted me one. I am happy with the outcome. You are not entitled to ANYTHING in this game. It is free to play and to think they came up with ALL this in just 2 weeks, just blows my mind.

Thirdly, they did not reward precursors solely to reward certain players. It brings down the average price on the TP, making it significantly easier to farm the gold and buy it.

Ah but you are one of the people that actually got to run the event right? Or did you get disconnected twice or even more like myself and others. It isn’t that fact that we didn’t get a precursor, it’s the fact that we spent hours in the game to get such a chance and where denied the chance because of flaws be on our end or Anets (I was part of the lag kicks and new build kicks so in my case Anets faults) frustrating that people cannot see that we just wanted a chance.

Yeah it’s a pisser, phase 1? laggy as hell, most of the NPCs didnt work, event 2 was “ok” and event 3 was so difficult to find a server to complete, (even after I thought i missed it because it was in the middle of the work day for people with lives) then a new build to ruin the almost complete server that i had found, 1 step away just before the cave and then bam disconnect for new build….

I have a job. But as the smart person I am, I requested OFF the day they posted what time it was going to happen. In all honestly, you can’t please everyone. I had to miss phase 1 and 2 Friday and Saturday becuase of work. You don’t see me constantly complaining about it on the forums.

I am a cop I cannot just request time off at a moments notice, neither can any firefighters, EMS, or other IMPORTANT jobs. Sure you missed phase 1 and phase 2, but you didn’t miss the chance to get the actual ONLY good thing about this whole event, the loot at the end.

The mechanics are already in the game so that people can only loot chests from dragons 1 time per 24 hours, Anet and all their supposed MMO knowledge couldn;t put this in place for this event as well?

So really heart goes out to those that missed the one good event out of this lack luster weekend.

Knights gear fills the warrior rolse much better then soldiers, adding alot more damage to the toon while giving it much more toughness. Vit is a medium for condition damage so the lack of that 5k HP will need some condition removal skills, however youll have more defense which is the medium for actual hits.

Quivers are someting many people have wanted…

Yeah i crafted 1 more my ranger, (prec/tough/condition) just waiting on recipe for power/tough/critdamge, was hoping that the rings where craftable, because I can only assume that they are soul bound/account bound (non-tradable) and luckily picking up the stats i want would be few and far between.

Also, I have seen rumors of new trinket recipes that are not the apothicary, can anyone confirm?

farm orr for a day ( a couple hours even) youll save like, 50% of them coin needed

I’ve not been able to get into groups past lvl 2 (because inevitably someone needs to leave or dc’d) and ended up doing lvl 1 3 times got 5 per still even after repeating some of the same. Don’t even need to char swap.

Ironically because people value their colored text over having good stats, a lot of Twilight, Sunrise, and Eternity wielders are kittening themselves with vit/tough/power weapons, when a tanky weapon is the opposite intention of the greatsword (at least on warrior and guardian, my ranger is level 2 so I haven’t looked at the skills there).

Best possible stat combo by far for both warrior and guardian (that is if you dont want to die in 2 hits).

Umm, I use knights gear on my warrior Power/Prec/Tough and remain tanky enough to live through kitten near anything while putting out enough damage to stay close to glass cannons, also guardians are ment to tank aggro system is Proximity>shield>crits, power prec tough gear gives my guardian 50% crit, 3600 armor, while useing mace/shield i dont think i’ve ever lost aggro while with an intelligent group, or died for that matter.

His question is refering the sending them to someone else to be crafted, it is fine I would say. people have sent me LOADS of mats to be crafted into various exotic items. Like I said before if there is no real life money exchange then is ok.

Anyone know what the rings will require? I for one hope that they will not need the gift of asencion from the shop in fractals.

Been poking around for the better part of 2 hours havn’t seen anything definitive, post discoveries here please would love to know how to get my hands on them as I am sure most of you are too.

I am definitely working on the precursor scavenger hunt, but like others have said, things like this take time and I want to get it right. Not to mention, it’s not the only thing on my plate. Please do not expect to see the precursor scavenger hunt in the next patch. I may be awesome, but I am still only human and this is a fairly large amount of work to get done and done right. A question though — once the scavenger hunts are in place and the first person finds a precursor what keeps the world from getting the same precursor much like it was when the Moa Chick scavenger hunt was finally solved? Is this just the end of the precursor difficulty?

They can’t stop that from happening unless they make the scavenger hunt unique to every single person who plays the game which I think is fairly impossible.

They could make each step in the process have say…5 different possibilities for players. But people will still figure out all the possibilities for each step.

At the end we’ll probably be given a precursor token and we’ll get to choose one we want.

My question is, will we be able to repeat it for those that are going for more than 1 legendary?

I would hope it is repeatable.
But there would have to be a long and hard road to getting one, maybe a mini personal story, one that would require say 3-5 people for 1 quest and like 20-30 quests.

Though the lack of healing power as a stat is discomforting, Prec/Tough/Condition is now availible, previously not, this can help a few builds greatly such with such builds as condition rangers/engys/warriors. Further more Power/Vit/Tough is now in the selction, a great choice for raw HP defense warriors.
Lastly Power/Tough/Crit damage is in the selectable a perfect fit in my hybrid build on my warrior since more prec would be a waste and the added toughness only further increases power gained.
Sadly I am sure that many are effected by the lack of healing :/

Shouldn’t you arn’t selling them to him for real money so you arn’t stealing anything from anet, it’s your time that went in to farming the orichalcum it’s up to you whether or not you want to give them away.

^ I agree I do not want to farm a dungeon that does not reward much coin if any at all for the 2850 fractal required to get full asended gear ( that is out at this time >.>)
not to mention I have 2 toon soon to be 3 at 80.

1 could argue that you do not need booth rings at asended lvl and you really dont need an asended back peice however some people will undoubtedly require others to be decked out in order to join their group.
also 1 of the backpeices has favorable stats to 2 of my chars :/

I made a thread about this actually, comparing Engie Snipers to Warrior Snipers. No offense, my fellow Warrior Brethren, but we do hit a bit too hard. As a warrior who has several other classes maxed out, including thieves, I like to stay unbiased and understand that balance is important.

Right now, Warriors have the highest ranged burst in the game. Period. The heavy armor class with base 18-20 k hp has the highest burst. They’re a sniper. A bit odd, right? a Ranger’s full culminated Rapid Shot can only do around 10-12 k and it has much less range!

The burst is just too high. A 20 k crit, which happens at times in WvW is sometimes more than a player’s entire HP pool. A Guardian that goes full defensive can and has been one shot by this ability.

But then you, oh great defender of the unbalanced, say ‘’Dodge. Reflect wall. Hmmm totally balanced now.’’ Well, good sir. Thieves can do a massive burst at close range, and be stealthed. At least they appear afterwards and a good player can slap their knob. A Sniper is nailing you from a tower wall, or 1500 range away while on a hill while you’re dealing with their friends and allies.

That burst is too high. It would be fine if it was say, 8 k at most, since the cursed thing PIERCES anyway, but being able to get 15 K+ on multiple opponents using one ability is….Wait for it…Unbalanced!

Well a few things here, rangers can do upwards of 20k in rapid shot, sure you can see the thief after its combo however, most are 1/2 dead or dead and; the shot can only peirce if traited for it.
Another thing to note it that even if peirced it travels in a straight line in a 3-D game the likelyhood of it hitting another is fairly low in all situations discribed, unless 1 unlucky individual happens to be under the ground or even lower on the hill.
Simply put its long animation grants a high pay off. A warrior takes a risk sitting still that long thus it hits hard, where as a thief takes risk of being close enough to combo, high pay off.

as a front line toon you should take alot of toughness, 3k-3300 is about what you need to survive most dungeon trash mob exchanges (unless you are godmode for dodging etc) my suggestion as a frontliner that crits is full knights gear/emerald jewelry, specing fully into defense, this will give you options for shield master mace master and hammer master depending on what you prefer, ( i take shield because the reduced CD on the #5 is pretty great) also you can get traits to gain adren when hit (includes hits that are blocked) and that would probably be a better source for adren gain, also you can get stance mastery 25% longer stances. and beserkers stance would also give alot of adren. from those specs you would get too much adren most of the time making the “crits grant more adren” spec useless because you are a burst user not a burst saver from there you could spec 10 into vit or arms and 30 into disci depending on how often spamming the maces burst is important to use, it has the longest daze compared to the maces 3 and shields 4 so saving it for when the bosses stability stacks are gone is important this also depends on how much CC the group has because a cycle of F1, 3, 4, F1 and F1, 3, 4, 3, 4, F1 would work but if a party member CCs and you dont notice you could waste your biggest stun. and playing that kind of role you are ment to prevent as much damage as possible for the team.
try 30 def 30 tactic 10 disciple. I use this set up with the kinghts gear and can still hit pretty hard. (not sure how hard havnt used in awhile)
try runes of the pack (power/prec for you party buffs)
sigil of water and sigil of leech are great, also sigils of strength are worth it if you have 60 crit chance, and im pretty sure this setup hits that if not more with fury

A ranged DPS glass cannon build might work in the hands of a skilled player, a melee glass cannon build certainly does not. Just wanted to point that out, because I think melees get punished much more in PvE than ranged damage dealers.

They do, didn’t you hear? Everyone in this is supposed to be either maxed out tank, or ranged :P

Really even I with a rather even spread of DPS and tankyness on a warrior get downed more often then not even after avioding most of the damage i.e. dodging blocks etc. pretty tough to be melee in this game and have fun doing it.

But I wanted to play GuildWars2 not Super Mario Bros.

Mainly we arn’t the elitest punks that expect everyone to have “full exotics”, because work with with people supportively we can get PUGs to do what we ask. Maybe our attitude towards other has something to do with our “luck”. I for one can tell by your forum posts that the way you have treated people has directly effected the success of your runs. Maybe.

Hammer does have the coolest animations on warrior, however I personally never pay attention to then in dungeons. Maybe thats just me.

try knights armor with runes of the pack and beryl trinkets, I do this and still hit 70% crit chance 72 crit damage + 3100+ attack and defense, well over 20K hp

Times when there are more then 5 in dungeons:
- a dungeon NPC is with you
- you have a minion mancer
- you have a mesmer
- you have a spirit ranger
- anything that summons extra adds really.

good rangers and necros should be well out of harms way, and if youre a mesmer and cant succeed at hiding you should reroll.

Could try 2x ways, I use them both depending on my mood.

1.) kinghts armor with runes of the pack (god mode for dungeons) emerald trinkets soldier class (power/vit/tough) mace and shield with on crit party heal and life steal.
traits are 0/0/30/30/10 taking shield master, Embrace the pain, defy pain ( could swap adren when hit for stance duration i think) then in vit tree regen banner is a must then whatever else you like. and in dis I do shouts gain adren melee weps make you run faster or increased crit based on adren.
with this build you should never lose aggro because you have a shield you are the closest and you’re doing alot of crits. and this is also probably the better of the 2 builds for lvl 70+ dungeons as your crit chance and healing arnt capped as much.
mending/FGjustice/shake it off/1 banner (I do tactics)/signet of rage

2.) soldier armor/weps with rune of soldier and any sigils you want clerics jewelry (until soldiers jewelry can be gotten >.>)
0/0/30/30/10 traits same defense traits vit traits need to be taliord for shouts (shouts heal+ 20% faster CD) and in dis you will need insipiring shouts
use either mending or healing surge ( you have a ton of condition removal with your shouts) FGjustice/on my mark/shake it off spamming the first 2 for CD removal and more dps for the group using shake it off to break stuns or remove more then 1 CD if needed elite can be whatever.
this build doesnt have as much healing for the group but is great for low lvl dungeons because your HP pool and toughness are so high for the lvl teirs, keeps decent aggro since your are usually the closest and you have a shield though you dont crit as much.

@OP: There is no ascended gear out to examine, we know VERY little about the gear that is being released no (2 rings and a back piece) other than the fact that the slots on them will be for some type of infusion.

The correct answer anyone should be giving you is “we don’t know, that gear isn’t out yet”.

His question was speculation, so the answers we can give can be speculation.

Interesting, I use many sets of gear on my warrior, one set is prec/tough/condition armor with Power/vit/Condition jewelry sword shield combo and 0/30/30/0/10 traits.
if they come out with prec/tough/condition jewelry I will pick those up but my bleeds still hit at 95-100+ @ lvl 80…

Warrior, and Eng here. The T3 culturals just look so fantastic.

Yellow market will not be trashed, yellows still = ectos and those are needed for even legendaries, also I wouldn’t be suprised if it takes 250+ ectos to make a precursor.

Try using Kights class armor Power/Prec/Toughness with runes of your choice, ( I use Sup, runes of the pack) With Beryl trinkets Power/Vit/Crit damage. weps are up to you but I like carrying a beserkers rifle/ greatsword and then kngihts class axe/shield and hammer switching depending on what i need or am doing.

Traits I do 0/20/30/0/20 getting greatsword mastery and the one that add prec for every unused signet, endure pain at 25%, adren when hit, switching between hammer and shield mastery depending, faster signet recharge and increased crit chance of 9% when adren is full.

I use Mending, For Great Justice, Bal stance, Signet of Fury (never use this free 130 prec or about 6% crit chance) and signet of rage (keep this and FGJ spammed makes for about an 8 sec down time for Fury)

With this You should hit 3,100+ attack 70% crit chance 70%+ crit damge 20k+ hp and 3,100+ defense (stats vary depending on what weps I use but this is with beserkers GS/rifle)
and of course when asended gear comes out theses stats should go up. Also note that if you never use burst skills like me then taking 10 out of arms and putting those into strength is also viable for running around (reduced fall damage) or for killing things (beserkers might 12% attack added when adren is full) makes for having 3,4-3,500 attack pretty easy while remaining survivable.

Even when infusion comes to armor, you wouldn’t need to use either all 6 armor pieces with rune slots or all 6 armor pieces with infusion slots. Mix, match, find the balance.

What the OP is refering to are Superior Runes of the Soldier, which upon having 6 of said rune Shouts remove conditions from you and party members, thus the need for all 6 no mix match could be done.

I remember a quote from a video that 2 people from Anet discussed “end game” and it being “whatever we want it to be”

sure i have my guild back and some crafted exotic armor/jewelery, but I want the Teir 3 Cultural armor, sure 1390 shards for the orrian set is alot, but hell 119 gold for some rare stated armor that i have to either A spend gold to get gems or real money to put good stats on it either way its ridiculous, to spend now 100 more times the amount of time to get the gold for such a thing. i mean really :/
