Stand by for the replies you’ll get to this – everyone and their brother who we’ve steamrolled will have an opinion. Bottom line, Kaineng is a good server – very large percentage of the population does WvW, we love it. As far as good… well, to be honest, Kaineng hasn’t been tested yet. All of the servers that we’ve faced put up a fight for a few hours on reset night, then get steam rolled.

Next week should be a good test – looks like we’re moving up to NA T3, against Maguuma and Dragonbrand, both very worthy and battle hardened servers. Should be a great WvW week.

For YB, this is last week all over again, with Kaineng reprising the role of Maguuma and CD doing their best Janthir impression. It was a good fight for the first ~7 hours though, Kaineng was only up by 1k when I logged.

Yeah, score was nice and close for awhile. Yaks’ continuous push of SM in EB was alot of fun, with more than a few CD mixed in to make sure nobody forgot this is a 3-way fight. We ended up resigning ourselves to the fact that SM would just have to live without an outer wall. xD

Just wanted to say thanks to the 4-5 Yaks guys who were constantly harassing SM north when the walls were down (late, around midnight PDT). Really nice having some small group skirmishes tonight. Wish I had caught guild tags, but you guys kept me and two WM guys hopping pretty well.

Whether it is deliberate or not, WM uses portals and mass invisibility before they run in which causes culling 100% of the time. Even when we can clearly see them stealth. This leads me to believe they realize it causes the culling issue, which to me, is abusing the system. As I said in my previous post, they are a good guild, and they know how to best use the game to their advantage. Kudos to them.

Can’t argue the culling thing – however, even without culling, stealth and portals for taking a point (keep/tower/whatever) is just good tactics. We’d still use them regardless of the culling issue.

I love all the haters for the Yaks even though we are the best of the 4 servers that have been stomped this past week collecting over 80,000 points compared to the others 30k. Yes Kaineng has lots of numbers, but once the dust settles other servers may throw in the towel the Yak’s get started with old fashion juke tactics.

GL to Crystal Desert, if you guys try to go toe to toe with the fat cats then we’ll do our best to make it level. Otherwise good luck catching our packs Kaineng.

Awesome attitude, I love it. I see a bunch of posts about Kain winning by a landslide, but I won’t buy into that hooey until it happens. I know that CD and Yaks will both bring it this week!

This. So far, Kaineng hasn’t been tested. I want us to end up in a tier we belong in, not one that is given based off one-sided blowouts against servers that had nowhere near our numbers.

No culling involved, it’s called Veil. Very useful.

Veil is a stealth ability – all stealth abilities involve culling to some degree, especially if you’re talking about a large group of players. It’s the majority of the reason for the myriad of “I hate thieves” posts.

To our [RE] folks – Kaineng wants you here. You guys are doing a great job, as are [WM], [CO], etc. I notice that every time someone posts an attack against [RE] and your time on DH, you rise to the bait and post the same things. Kaineng knows and understands what you went through – Kaineng went through a similar phase.

Bottom line, I would recommend that you let these detractors post whatever they want and not give them the satisfaction of a reply. After all, who cares? The people that matter, those of us fighting side by side with you, know all of the great things you guys are doing. For all of us. Keep doing what you’re doing for our server, and I’ll go back to my first sentence of this post and what really matters: The vast majority of Kaineng wants you here. Everyone else is fluff and inconsequential.

Almost certainly a troll. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Kaineng player chest thump from the get go – it’s usually in response to a “You suck because you’re Kaineng!” post. xD

Because I could log on at 9am EST and take 2-3 towers, and sometimes a keep, before starting to see a response from Mag. The only gap I have seen in Kaineng coverage is from about 11am-noon EST. Any other time, we have an almost immediate response of at least 5 Kaineng players (quickly followed by at least 1 more group) before we can get a wall down with a catapult.

Ok, so the assessments are anecdotal vice scientific – was just wondering if there was some analytic site that posted real numbers. Thanks!

I don’t understand how any of the original Kain players stuck around. Your server is a mess. Snowballing for a month straight now…………….we’ve been on both ends, it’s no mystery that we server hop constantly, but man, being on the zerg server is easily the most boring thing in my opinion.

I hear you – and for me, it goes back to my previous post – community. This whole blowout thing is going to end, most likely this Friday at reset, so I’ll have fun WvW again – AND I’ll still have the awesome Kaineng community that I love being a part of. I just had to be patient for it.

I’ll take a stab at #1, even tho I’m not a transfer – I think it comes down to community. WM had been here before for training, RE (and DE before the merge) scouted us as well. Prior to the big transfers, Kaineng was mostly heart and tenacity, and we never rolled over even when it was hopeless for us (please don’t read into that statement, no veiled references to the current matchup or any other prior matchup). Bottom line, they liked it here.

I can answer #2 more easily and with less conjecture – why move if we’re having a blast in WvW and loving our server community? :-)

It is kind of fun to poke the bear, though, and a very few of us did that for a while last night in our own (DR) BL.

This is exactly what we used to do during the original DR/FC/Kain matchup – grab a camp, maybe a tower, siege it up, and see how long we could hold it against the inevitable. The tables have turned, but I’m hoping you guys are finding as much entertainment in that as we original Kaineng folks did back then. Great fun for everyone I think.

Not even sure why this would even seem important as a topic, other than to encourage forum drama. I have a very Zen approach – Kaineng will settle in the tier it’s meant to be in.

Bottom line, the “new” Kaineng has never been tested yet. Until we face a good tough fight, we won’t know how Kaineng will hold up.

Wow, sounds like DB might be looking forward to the matchup as well!

I remember making a post long a while back stating how I hoped to see Devona’s Rest(Who was in their prime at the time, before they lost to transfers) move up far in tiers, and my thoughts were the same with Kaineng as well after its rapid growth moment.. as a testament to what we of Ferguson’s have fought head on with commonly as little as a mere 10 people in one map and somehow managed to retain our sanity.

I admit, there were a lot of times of frustration especially in the last week we were with Kaineng. I did get a little annoyed on the forums from the corpse laughing/dancing, but I do regret losing composure over that. With that said, I’m glad to see that both our former tier 8 mates have done well. Although again, it is regrettable that so many left DR before they got to have at least a final rematch with Kaineng. But that’s how the cookie crumbles with server transfers.

For those few of you who may remember/miss the tier 8 spirit and want to know how we’re doing; ironically, the current tier 8 situation seems very similar to the long past match up of DR-Kain-Ferg with Sorrow’s being in place of the then mighty DR, Ferguson being in place of Kain when it went toe to toe with DR near constantly (SF even averted 95+% of its focus to us this past week) and Eredon’s Terrace being that wild card, terrorist like server in place of the old Ferguson, playing opportunist and always finding a way to maintain a strong presence on the map while the other two go at one another’s throat.

Thanks for the update! Have to admit, there are times that I miss the T8 matchup between DR/FC/Kain. Glad that T8 hasn’t lost its spirit – and there are quite a few of us on Kain that recall those matchups well. Great times – and glad that SF/ET/FC are having a blast!

Can’t argue about transfer servers either – there are always exceptions, though, and given how well our large transfers fit in with our population, I think/hope we’ll be the exception to that rule.

As to your bet… I hope you lose, but even if you win, we’ll still be happy here on Kaineng (as long as we get some good fights!).

And you still haven’t accepted the fact that what you have been hearing for a month is true or not? It’s all numbers. You have yet to use one tactical move in the battles I have seen. Haters love to generalize – it’s the only way all of that anger can be focused I think. You’re lumping me in with some generalized stereotype of a Kaineng player that I’m pretty sure only exists in your head. Your post, as a whole and as directed at me (which I’m assuming since you quoted me), is completely inaccurate.

I rolled Kaineng. I’ve never been anywhere else. This is the highest tier I’ve ever been in, and I’ve loved WvW in every single tier (including Tier 8 ) that I’ve been in.

I didn’t move anywhere, I’m just playing this great game that ArenaNet made for me. Hate on me if you like, because like I said, your hate doesn’t matter. I don’t care. I’m going to love playing the game regardless.

Everyone HAS seen what Kaineng is made of. When the numbers are fairly even, you get pushed back and rolled over. When you have more than 2x more players than your enemy, you win. This is no big secret. We have all had enough battles to know exactly what type of server Kaineng is, over populated for the tiers it has been in. There is very little skill in anything you guys do. Zerg, zerg, and zerg.

Winning by shear numbers, is that what your goal is? Good. You have succeeded. You have not won one battle I have witnessed where we had within a 10 count of your total. Not one.

Folks are angry because their server’s spine is broken and they’re in a downward spiral. It’s scary, and they need to lash out at someone. It kinda ebbs and flows – yesterday, I think Ebay garrison got flipped like four times in 20 minutes. EB and DR still come out to play and do well, the score just doesn’t reflect it.

Kaineng folks, I don’t understand why we feel the need to defend ourselves. We see this hate coming at us week after week. Just take it to ‘em on the battlefield, and let the ones that can’t accept it post excuses here. Numbers, zergs, no tactics, you’ll get stomped in later tiers… we’ve heard all of that in past matchup threads, and whether those statements are right or wrong is really irrelevant. All servers have reports of exploiters… not really fair to characterize EBay as a server because someone posted screenies of a potential hacker.

Also, you can’t cap spawn, so I don’t think that taking stuff back was the goal.

Kaineng “zergs” have been the easiest to handle in terms of just straight up killing. That goes all the way back to T8 and judging from last night, nothing has changed there. There are just more zerglings to deal with.

Maguuma “zergs” have been the hardest to handle since they have some leaders and scouts that people actually listen to, are on voice together, and act cohesively.

I never mind honesty. LOL And yep, we have growing and learning to do, that’s for sure. It IS happening – siege is going up faster, people are responding more quickly, etc. We’re getting better. Does that mean we’re ready for T1? Absolutely not. But with what we have now, can we train/develop into a high-tier threat? I think that’s possible as well. Bottom line, we’ll see. It’s been a helluva ride so far.

So I watch for a bit and decided it was time to test the waters and see how good Kain’s players are!!!!!!!

Spawn camping is dumb, hands down, couldn’t agree more. Wish we didn’t have people that feel the need to do that, it ruins the week for everyone.

Entire server generalizations are just as bad, though. I’ll leave it at that, since we’ve seen some form of the “all of Kaineng are stupid zerglings” posts in every tier matchup. I can definitively say you’re wrong – I am very frequently running solo or with a single friend or two. I scout, I call out where you are, and then the monster zergs that everyone complains about come through and crushes everything. I’m not the only scout, either – our mapchat is generally full of folks calling status on stuff, at least in my experience. Working as intended.

I just wish the spawn-camping would stop. Kaineng commanders? How ’bout it?

If you don’t hit a wall i think kain will rise to tier 2. I was amazed how many underleveled folks you had, we were looking for guild tags to see if it was going to be a good fight or not. There were roaving groups of CO you had to watch out for.. and groups of up arrows you could crush under your boots. Wild first day.

You’ll find ehmry doesn’t give up though.

Hard to tell where Kaineng is going to end up – we’re (still) seeing a huge influx of transfers with the whole paid transfer thing coming about. I guess the next month or two will shake everything out and hopefully stabilize the WvW community as a whole somewhat.

Sigil of Generosity isn’t bad for at least some sort of condition removal. Got a condition you don’t like? Find something (or someone) to beat on and it’ll give it to them. What a great idea.
