Well daze says it makes the target unable to use skills, while chill makes skill recharges take longer. But i have never noticed any slowdown in auto-attacks while chilled, meaning that chill do not really affect mainhand auto-attack skills. Daze on the other hand will, as it locks the skills rather than make them take longer to recharge. Meaning that daze will be way more effective on any profession that rely on auto-attack for their steady DPS.
If you want chain dazes roll a mesmer- they can easily do 4+ in a row (It’s their thing, like necros and fea… like thieves and stealth). You’re not going to get much out of the one daze on warhorn.
This makes me wonder, are MH #1 considered a skill for this? If so it is in some ways a stronger control than chill, as chill only affects the recharge, not the activation time. And #1 skill usually do not have a recharge. as such your buying yourself 2 seconds of no incoming damage. I really do have to reevaluate my ignorance of warhorn, especially if i am to revisit daggers.

It’s a DAZE, no one is going to pause because they are dazed. There is a slight effect around there head (circles)

Yeah, you can dodge if you see him hop up. It’s extremely quick though. Lots of classes have get out of jail free cards though in teleport form (or if you know a spike is coming you can use whatever invulnerability you have).

Wail of Doom is a daze. You won’t be “catching fleeing players” with a daze anytime soon.

Honestly i would have loved to see the builds and numbers of the beta weekend characters that prompted Anet to adjust things to this degree.
They did sweeping changes to the game (without necro in mind) and directly to necros I think without any thought of the ramifications.
World change:
ICD added to procs
Poison down to 33% heal reduction from 66%
Made heals that remove conditions remove the conditions before the heal applies (making poison even more useless)
Necro change:
7s scepter bleeds to 4s
Undocumented DS nerfs
Added degen to jagged horrors
Decreased the number of bone minions and fiends
Decrease Axe damage
That was a hotfix, not an update. Last week’s update was “on time”.

2. Yeah I suppose that’s true. I have +10% bleeding duration on my staff, I feel like I would do more damage with my staff auto attacks and that than a chance to proc a bleed on hit. I may be wrong.

When I said procs I mainly meant the sigil of earth. The trait proc is pretty terrible with a 1 second bleed and an ICS- I mean, we don’t have warrior level bleeds here.
Try an engineer. Nothing like an RNG Juggernaut elite.
1) Minions are great until they stand there and don’t do anything. Minions are great until you’re in Orr at 80 and fleshgolem’s aggroing everything then stands there and does nothing
2) Precision because when you crit you proc more bleeds, which I believe is the point of condition builds. Power doesn’t do too much
3) You and everyone else. Long list of things to do to improve the poorly implemented minions.
Changed in the last BWE (‘CAUSE NECROS ARE OP). If you get 5 targets and aren’t being attacked it’ll restore a bit.

Staffs have marks not wells. The staff traits are greater marks (highly recommended) and the 20% faster staff recharge.
I spam 2, 3 and 4 offcooldown (4 I can save for conditions but I spam anyway)
5 I save if I’m in a group for peeling (1 sec duration makes it a terrible peel) or interrupting- if not spamtown.
Sidenote, why are you using corrupt boon for PVE?

We have the largest health pool of any class and the DS mechanic in my opinion is a great class skill. What other class has a fear, a teleport, an AOE damage skill and a hard hitting single target skill all in one without spending any trait points?

Staff is great, but the auto attack is so slow it doesn’t make sense to use it against anything but group of mobs. The piercing and AoE are what make up for the lack of damage. Great if you’re in a dungeon or a DE. Not so great if you’re out and about trying to kill that guy you aggro’d, down a vet/champ, or any other situation involving few enemies.
If you’re referring to the burrows part of it, have his stand and protect the NPC.

I was actually watching Team PZ’s stream last night and they were talking about playing with him and the builds he used, like play full signet warrior and play silly builds as necro. Really though who the hell cares? He can play however he likes, the important thing is that he plays/talks to high end teams about balancing issues which is the best move any “PvP” game can make imo. Team PZ is extremely good, they’re just not as well known.
My issue is not his build, that he lost or that he played badly- it’s how he used his death shroud.
I hear: ‘Necros need to use death shroud properly. Necros get a third weapon set. Death Shroud is really strong.’
I see: “oh kittens I’m dying DEATH SHROUD – LIFE TRANSFER”
Yes quite the use of the almighty 3rd weapon set DS.
He can talk all he wants to PvP teams. Doesn’t really help if he dismisses things as a L2P issue when clearly he has no idea what that P involves.

I’m at work so I can’t analyze it but there’s a notable fight at 5:30. He’s using warhorn and staff. No idea what his mainhand is from that one fight.
For all the talk of using death shroud properly all I see is a meat shield used at low life.
Despite the tone of this post I’m glad to see someone actually playing necro.
There is no necro specific gear. An Ele or Mesmer can look exactly the same.
Life blast for a crit/power necro this can hit hard but it is slow its a trade off, for condition necro ive not found its use maybe for might stacking.
dark path – very useful for power necros to get close, bad for condition 2 bleeds isnt much, support necros help the team with chill. all necros can use this for chasing targets.
TLDR DS is best for power necros but still should play a role however you play necros

Or optionally replace the current bleed with a reverse retribution, so that each time it damages a foe it does the equivalent damage to itself.

Yeah but thats only useful when you get enough time to use it, the stun is on until i actually die (that counts finish as well) if i am in DS, i have to leave that use a Stun Breaker that takes more time to do then it does for them to kill me.
Npow i am not saying we should be able to take as much damage as “Bunker” Guardians (which is SERIOUSLY overpowered) but it would be nice if being in a “Toughness” build that i didnt get burst down SO easily

Whenever I tested this all fired at the same time.
i’ve not tried spectral grasp in WvW, but it is the longest pull in the game at 1200 range, in theory if you can hit them with the staff you can pull them down.
“Theory” yeah. Practice no. I spent all weekend trying to pull then root (with my slyvari racial). Never worked past ~600 or if the enemy was running.
Whichever dev thought spectral grasp would make a good arching projectile- you were wrong.
A 4 minute cooldown on a cleanse-able CC? No thanks.
