The short answer is no. A warrior/ranger/guardian would be much easier. Reasons:
-No escapes
-No mobility outside of warhorn swiftness
-No invulnerability
-Very low amount of CC, exactly 1 immobilize (on a weapon you won’t be using)
-Pathetic damage (Even with traits/gear all damage comes from utilities)

Yes, tons. Have you ever spoken to a merchant out in the world? The majority sell nothing consumable weapons.
Death Shroud now fits it’s name more accurately. During Death Shroud, the player has an unremovable, exponential health degeneration to their main HP bar.

@Dibrom, if it’s inconsistent between classes, as you claim (and I haven’t tested it so I don’t know), then I think that should be standardized across the classes, one way or another. If necro minions are considered different from all those other for balance reasons, that should be explained to us.

This isn’t a guardian issue, it’s an underwater issue. My necro also shoots from his hand underwater. (Only on 1 skill, the rest he just balls up ala Renewed Focus)
Minions aren’t pets – they are utility skills. Like all utility skills, if they’re not on your bar, you can’t use them. When transforming into Lich or Plague form, all of your utility skills, including your heal skill, are removed from your bar. Thus it makes perfect sense that the minions would go away too.
Engineer elite transformation: Turrets don’t explode
Warrior elite transformation: Banners don’t disappear
Elementalist elite transformation: Elemental doesn’t die
Minions are a necro utility so it’s different I guess. WORKING AS INTENDED!

it ramps up damage as it casts, and there have been times in pvp that i have seen the last 1 or 2 hits crit for 6k, which when combined with the rest of the damage puts the total anywhere from 10-15k
A) Damage doesn’t work like that. Channeled abilities add damage together, the last tick is ALL the hits combined.
B) Play another class in the mist, 6k crit damage is nothing on a channeled ability.

I disagree, there is PLENTY of power/pre/crit gear. There is ONE set of con/pre/tough gear. There is ONE dagger of the same stats. (Exotic levels) Leveling a condition build is expensive as a-poorly-planned-out-system.

@OP: It isn’t easy running away from a necro. You can slow them with mark then place a fear trap in front of them to fear them back to you. you also have scepter #2 which cripples. All this while they are bleeding.
Yeah like Karther says, don’t judge it by low levels. You need greater mark trait… It is impossible to miss if you have it.
If you really have issues in WvW running away, use SW. dumb people will chase you off cliff then just teleport back above the cliff, laugh and go about your ways.

The problem with giving advice that you’ve never actually tried is it usually doesn’t work. For example:
The fear mark doesn’t work that way. Fearing people will always run away from you, the position of the mark has nothing to do with it.
SW doesn’t work that way either, if you run off a cliff SW will not port you back on top of the cliff.
You played a necro to 80 and didn’t run into bugs?

It’s nice to play a class where all the skills on my bar actually do something.

I have to agree with Ezekeel. Necros have the least amount of combo fields, so you’d really be better off as any other class for amazing combo fields (Ele?). I found lots of cool interactions outside of combo fields too but was saddened when they were mostly bugged (most saddened by plague form).
I can send to 1 or 2 people before I get suppressed for sending out too much mail. Are gold sellers joining dungeons then spamming people with mail?

Damage output is huge. I can tell you I never have any aggro on my necro until I spread 25 stacks of bleeding to everyone. Mobs will stop and run towards me, lol.

You are forget that the necro has two heal skills…forget what ranger has…warrior has teh ability to get back up if you don’t down him fast enough. And that little glow ball the mesmers do…does crap damage. You do more from the confusion but it evens out. Not to mention it brings you out of stealth if you attack when you clone.
For those that are unaware…the 1 skill in downed state does damage and heals the necro…those red balls aren’t just for show.
Enough healing to not even negate the life loss just being in the downed state, scary. Not to mention their dreaded #3: AoE poison!
Strill.2591You used to be right, but the devs added an internal cooldown to Sigil of Earth. It is far less effective than your bleed on crit traits because the traits don’t have an internal coolodown.
A necro’s bleed on crit trait is a 1 second bleed with an ICD. It is in no reality better then sigil of earth.
I think slowing the projectile down even further BUT giving it a ~20x increase in damage would be fun.
