Pfft, makes sense. 1 October is one of the many Octobers out there.
October 1 is the first October of many.
My point is: The update will happen 1 minute (minute 1?) before midnight (my midnight).
October 2!
Are necros any good at tagging mobs / getting loot in dynamic events?

Holy crap, I never even considered having the staff in one setup and another staff in the other. I’m going to have to try this, but I do love the AOE combo’s from Dagger offhand. Enfeebling blood has a higher radius than most people think and the Deathly Swarm hits multiple targets. If you spec curses you also get ground targetting on all well skills so you won’t have to run up to drop all those nice AOE’s. :P
If you like dagger offhand (as do I) then just put the sigils on the dagger. Staff/Staff won’t improve cooldowns; it’s pretty wasteful.
It does mean 1 October… or as I like to call it: October 1.
They don’t even have guesting up yet. It’s going to be a long long time.
I would LOVE if they made it a direct teleport like Mesmer portals, but I’m not sure how easy that would be mechanically.
It would be very easy, it did this in betas. (EDIT: Oh wait no, I’m thinking of spectral walk. Same basic premise though.) They changed it for jump puzzle/ exploitability reasons.
Pay attention to the red circles on the floor, they’ll 1 hit you.
Avoid the hit when a mob uses a big flashy windup, they’ll 1 hit you.
Pay attention to the objectives, they’ll 1 hit you.
All really obvious stuff, AC is pretty straight forward. Sure there’s stuff to make things a bit easier/faster (stand on a ledge when XXX, pull XXX first, run after XXX) but you’re not going to fail without them.
necrotic traversal only allows you to go back to a place you have already been, NOT skip jumping puzzles.
Flesh Wurm is a ground targeted ability. If you’re clicking your skills, move your cursor around the screen.
@Delryn (Since I can’t use the forum quote)
“Technically all of them, but obviously Thief, Mesmer, Necro need the most help. We now have 5 weeks left and are 100% focused on bug fixing and balance, which include a lot of creating new viable builds. For those not familiar with game development, that is a lot of time, especially with the really smooth build making process we have. I should probably post this in general too."
5 weeks before release
1 update since live- spectral walk buffed.
I too feel better knowing that change is “coming”.
(edited by Dibrom.6408)
There is a cooldown (and it’s shared between all on crit sigils) and it’s a 5 second bleed.
Completely ruined my snarky ‘works via magic’ comment.
Thanks for your answer ! By “per skill hit”, you mean that if I use a skill that hit multiple enemies, it could trigger it multiple time ?
No
Elementalist.
..
.
Don’t we get Weakness from one of the abilities as well?
NO
Scepter is not a dagger.
Come on Necro bug fixes! Daddy needs a working chillblains.
I am a 400 Jewelcrafter. I didn’t find out until I maxed it that the amulets I wanted aren’t available in rare or exotic, only in green (Rabid stats, thanks Anet). I offered to craft any jewels for my guildies if they supplied the mats. Surprise it’s cheaper to TP a finished product then it is to buy the mats.
Crafting is worthless.
Well, I can confirm that if you use Consume Condition or Plague Signet or Well of Power while pressing forward you will break the root. It’s a root that reapplies to a small area, walk out of it after you break it. I’ve done it many many times. Since I’m Sylvari I’ve also seen people do this to me with my racial.
I really like the Plague form using Blindness + chill with trait. It’s a 20 second damage reduction and stability + AE chill, blind and poison. Couple that with DS and I am a tank. I’ve used the form to push crowd and was amazed at how long I could live while focus fired.
I doubt you’ve ever actually done that. The “chill with trait” doesn’t work with plague form.
It’s a decent condition burst but all of these require you to be in melee range.
I come with an open mind and I’ll comment as I watch:
3v1 you come in at the end
3v1 again
you see 3 enemies and run, avoiding a 1v3
you die in a 1v2 against a mesmer+warrior
4v2 you come in the end
2v1 a fleeing mesmer
1v1 kill a warrior who had ~5% health left when you saw him
3v1 a necro
aaand I’m done watching
You call it a burst build yet I never saw you hit for even 2000 damage.
I heard it changed around BWE 3. Being so bugged I haven’t bothered to test it.
Maybe the reason why ANET gave us a short fear is because we have two fears when using staff. Maybe they see it as oh you can fear 1 second from staff then another 1 second from ds. Honestly after playing more and more spvp. I would give up DS for some buffs in fear duration, stability, and might.
I’d kill for some stability too. But I don’t buy the 2 fear thing given I can stun/knockdown a person on a engineer, warrior or mesmer until the cows come home. Fear is the only condition that doesn’t even stack.

Agree with all the points made by the Sgt. But I think the minions should be like pets, I’d rather just have a dismiss command.
But ugh, stability. I don’t bother with the stomp anymore, just stack more bleeds on them.
Question: For how long does Barbed Precision bleed, and does it have an ICD?

1 second. You can’t get it to do more then 1 tick of damage.
Spectral wall is buggy. Shocking I know, but true.
If you want a class that stacks vulnerability I suggest rolling an engineer. 25 AoE stacks in 4-5 attacks.
I run axe in a cheese minion build but I find it very underwhelming. And if an engineer is in my group, I may as well switch weapons.
It does have more bugs then all other classes combined. It does have a complete lack of build diversity. It does have huge problems.
But yeah it’s not unplayable. Which I guess is your point?
You should learn to read. I never said a duration-heavy necro could get 2.5 or 3. That was somebody else.
I also specifically talked about on-crit bleeds, which you would have noticed if you’d made it past the first paragraph. You didn’t specify though, so i covered both. The poster above did specify, but i was in the mists looking at bleeds while making my post, so i didn’t see his post until after i issued mine.
You’re wrong about duration increase though, it does matter and it does add up. Having a 1.5 second bleed isn’t “the same thing” because you’re closer to another tic. It may deal the same damage because you didn’t get the extra tic, but the game recognizes the extra duration and displays it properly. If at some point you’re able to extend condition duration beyond 100% then you get two tics and see an increase in damage.
Also, speed of mouseover doesn’t matter if you leave the mouse where the status icon pops up. It would only matter if you had to click all of your skills to activate them.
You’re right, you are a different poster. That’s about all you’re right about.
“You didn’t specify though, so i covered both. The poster above did specify, but i was in the mists looking at bleeds while making my post, so i didn’t see his post until after i issued mine.”
I actually did specify as I quoted the post you didn’t read.
“If at some point you’re able to extend condition duration beyond 100% then you get two tics and see an increase in damage.”
If at some point is countered you can’t extend the duration beyond 100%. Hence you can’t get more then one tick. ever.
“Also, speed of mouseover doesn’t matter if you leave the mouse where the status icon pops up. It would only matter if you had to click all of your skills to activate them.”
It’s a 1 second bleed. If it weren’t 1 second it would do 0 damage.
It’s really not a hard thing to grasp. The minor trait bleed will do 1 tick of damage reguardless of your build/theorycrafting.
Are you talking about bleeds applied from crit, or from the scepter directly? Because my scepter tooltips are telling me they apply bleed for 4.75 sec (after 20% added condition duration from trait points).
If you’re talking about the on-crit bleeds – yes, they can last more than a second. Without any bonuses, the bleeds always show up lasting for “0 seconds” which means “counting down and currently under 1 second.” With full cond. duration line, you see “1 second” briefly before going back to 0 seconds and then disappearing. 30% of a second isn’t a long time. With the 20% bleed trait and sigil of agony, the 1-second overlap is a bit easier to notice. Just tested in the mists with an axe.
If you had said “on-hit bleeds don’t benefit from extension unless you can get them to 2 seconds, because bleed only tics once per second” then you would have been accurate.
Ugh, wrong so you pretend to be intelligent about it. I’ll break it down for you:
A) It’s pretty clear I was talking about crits since I mentioned crits and didn’t mention the scepter.
B)It lasts for 1 second, just because you aren’t fast enough to mouse over something doesn’t mean anything.
C) 1 second + 30% + 20% is still 1 second as far as the game is concerned.
D) You can’t get this trait to go over one second. Therefore you can’t do more then one tick of bleed damage. A far cry from your claim of “A typical condition necro will get a two second bleed from this; a duration-heavy necro can get 2.5 or 3.”
how about question for question
If you remove the bleed stack cap are you willing to take a reduction on how fast you can actually stack bleeds?
My guess is it exists simply for that reason
And that’s a valid reason because…?
There a direct damage cap that I’m not aware of?
Minors:
- 66% chance to bleed for 1s on crit. Probably the second-most powerful minor trait we have, especially given how long our bleeds last. A typical condition necro will get a two second bleed from this; a duration-heavy necro can get 2.5 or 3.
I suggest you test this, it’s not possible to get more then a 1 second bleed.
I always click the arrow above the skill, this will replace the minion ability with the original minion icon. Clicking this icon will despawn the minion.
There are 4 sleeping areas in the lowest floor, one for each cycle (time that the sylvari was born). Why do you think the sylvari own houses?
It’s a warrior or a thief with the 30% condition duration trait line.
…or 5 necros with teamspeak.
It would honestly be better if Greater Marks didn’t affect Chillblains at all.
Wait…wha? I would just like to see the bug fixed. Why would it be better if it didn’t affect it all, if you don’t mind me asking?
Because a non-greater mark’d chillblains will work 100% of the time.
We don’t really have any top tier CC for engame PvE or PvP. Who ever told you that didn’t know what he was talking about.
Pretty much this. We’re the only profession without a stun as well. If you want PVE CC try engineer, lots of knockbacks and stuns.
It makes a really nice break stun, gain swiftness and go into DS whilst refilling the bar skill now i guess.
Makes me wonder why spectral armor was changed so you couldn’t do exactly this.
Nerf incoming?-
You should bug report stability then, makes all my characters bigger.
And willowleaf nailed the reason why it was changed.
“It was too difficult”
People either didn’t bother reading that it would teleport you back or didn’t bother checking the duration remaining icon.
Edit:
It was always a stun break.
It’s 5%.
Also I would have taken a working chillblains over these :/
It’s a start at least.
Huh. I guess I am one of the few who likes Death Shroud. The Only changes I would like to see is if the 2 skill was targeted blink instead of a grasp throwing me in melee (maybe op, but anything is better than forcing me in melee. And if its a chacing skill then at least increase projectile speed so they don’t just outrun it.) Also, more reasonably, the removal of life force scaling on the 1 skill. Its weak even at max life force, and at less than 50% down right insulting.
My issues with the class is all the skills that apply conditions to yourself, and the only thing we can do with these self inflicted wounds is consume them every 25 seconds, or swap them at 90(!) seconds. This seems to be the theme of our class yet we are given little return for hurting ourselves. Then there is fear. The duration is a joke plain and simple when compared to other CC.
Also the bug fixes, but that goes without saying.
You like Death Shroud but want to change 3 out of the 4 skills.
I like death shroud too, I just hate the implementation.
Love the DS suggestions. Anet taking notes? (No)
The best thing about enfeebling blood is the talent that makes it happen on your dodge, particularly in PVP.
There is no such thing. Mark on dodge or Enfeebling when you go into DS.
It was a nice slap in the face for my 400 jewelcrafting necro.
Accessories that don’t have the power stat? That’s a weird request, what kind of warrior would wear that?
Hey, what a great suggestion. Seems almost like a basic game concept.
I never said anything about Prec/tough/condition gear in general and there are ways to get it.
Please tell me how to get the exotic level jewelry then.
I’d rather see Spectral Armor get a shorter cooldown. Adding stability to a 90 second cooldown does very little.
I believe that only works if they add you as a friend too. Followers just see if a person’s online.
Yes, we are dumb for complaining about the >100 bugs exclusive to the necromancer.
If only we stayed ignorant and not noticed any of them like you.
Mark of Evasion is a blast finisher upon Mark of Blood trigger. So we essentially have a Blast Finisher on a 5 second CD.
Too bad I don’t know if it’s a bug or intentional due to massive amounts of bugs plaguing our Profession.
I’ve been abusing the hell out of this ever since the day I rolled into a water field.
Does anyone think food/cooking is pretty much worthless for making money?

People want dyes. You won’t make any money off of them, but they’re still in demand.
