Completed “Zinn’s Prize Student” achievement just to have the Zinn’s Study Guide book which I keep permanently in my inventory for no other purpose than personal enjoyment. I also always carry with me a full stack of Healing Seed Pods to pop trees, Ascalon Tomes to rain blue fire and Harpy Hormones to annoy people with heart effects)

Strange Stealth Experience

So while this might be a mechanics issue compared to how Ranger’s Rapid Fire skill could track stealthed opponents if fired before Stealth is applied, there might be another reason.

Chak: they are very sensitive to magical energy, so while their eyes might not see you, they probably have other sensory equipment that could detects stealthed foes.

Frogs: The Nuhoc Mastery track line suggests that the frogs are able to detect stealthed foes (see: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nuhoch_Stealth_Detection)

The next GW: Beyond episode was supposed to feature Koss and his relationship with Melonni (à la Hearts of the North with Keiran and Gwen) but it got cancelled because GW2.
I like to think that his descent is at the head of the Sunspears, fighting off the evil Palawa Joko, the Scourge of Elona. I guess we’ll know once we get to that continent…

Which legend for revenant

in Lore

Posted by: Djahlat.9610

Djahlat.9610

I’m pretty sure GS existed in GW1 time, it’s just that mechanics limitations prevented players from seeing them. For example, the Long Sword skin of gw1 became a gs skin in gw2 (Kymswarden).
Same thing with Gullik in Ghosts of Ascalon wielding a two handed Axe, but we’ve never seen one in-game.

For a stance, I’d agree any named Jotun (no spellcaster though) would be a great candidate.
But legends don’t necessarily need to be associated with a weapon (pretty sure Glint didn’t use a shield, or Shiro swords)

My diagnosis is that you suffer from altoholicism lmao.
But as GW2 is basically Fashion Wars 2, the way I would proceed to choose a main would be primarily based on the Armor Weight. If it is Heavy armor styles you prefer, I feel like Revenant would suit you best as none of the “cons” of your list prevent you from enjoying it fully. If medium, I think you would enjoy Ranger the most because the “too much support” con is absolutely not right, especially the way I play my Druid. If Light Armor, it seems you prefer Ele, however, given the effort you put into your Necro, I think you should stick to it, as gearing a character for a raid can be quite a hassle

Djahlat.9610

In GW1 a lot of people used TexMod, where you could manually modify textures of the game (including UI, which was used to facilitate exploration to make unexplored areas more “obvious” to see). That way, I re-colored my Tiger pet to make its stripes white instead of black and it was just soooooo nice. Also re-colored one of my heroes’ Lion Pet in all red to look like the Scarlet Lion from Azur and Asmar fun times.
Back then ANet’s stance on TexMod was “not bannable, but if it breaks anything you won’t be getting support from us either”, I haven’t searched yet for GW2

Astrophysics and all things Astronomy

in Lore

Djahlat.9610

I recently came across this line from the GW2W that said that Humans possessed superior knowledge in both History and Agriculture compared to the other races of Tyria. This statement seems to hold a lot of sense, and I was wondering if this also applied to Astrophysics. The Asura were underground until recently (250 years, which is about only 2-3 generations considering their lifespan), and I’d doubt they had any interest for the Astral bodies until then.
We know the Jotun were precursors of Astronomy, which is both shown through the Astralaria legendary egg-hunt and Arah Explorable Mode. However, all their advancement came to a halt because of their downfall.
The Humans picked up on it, and were pretty advanced, which is shown in Nahpui Quarters of GW Factions and The Astralarium of GW Nightfall.

TL;DR: Do you think Humans still hold supremacy over the subject of astrophysics or did the Asura surpass them in those 250 years?

P.S.: I’m interested in that because of my character’s RP, in which I made him a Ranger but also a mathematician and an astrophysicist, which in turn he managed to apply to Nature Magic and that’s how he became a Druid

So apparently they were created 200years or so ago, contrary to what we were told in the blog post (300yrs), so I’m not sure if there is even a connection between the two.

Why the pessimistic saltiness?
They didn’t change anything to range whatsoever, just improved the way we ALL use our ranged skills, and Joel SPECIFICALLY made some tweaks JUST for engineers (and arguably Druids’ Celestial Avatar Form) . Not even ranged, hell they improved on melee combat as well, so really your post really sounds like a crybaby’s tantrum.

As to another point you made. The ritualist spirits were made from lightning. Guardians have zero access to lightning. Guardians make everything they do out of a blue white or flame.

Oh. My. Kitten. God
I’m sorry but after that i just can’t take anything you say seriously
Props for making me spit out my tea while reading though

Your derision adds nothing to the conversation.

In gw1 ritualists used lighting and the spirits were composed of lightning. We know the later because when they ruptured they cause lightning damage.

We know guardians make everything out of bluewhite light/flame because that is what they do in the game and in the books. And thats what monks did in the game and the books. They are clearly able to synthesize the ability of other magic bases with the light manipulations of monks.

No they were not. Lightning was there only because it was the only way Ritualist could be directly offensive (as opposed to offensive through spirits or weapon spells). It’s also to mention that the closest profession in GW2 to Rit is Ranger.
I also don’t remember Ranger spirits vanishing away with lightning emanating from them when commanding them to sacrifice themselves. The Destruction spirit, or the Storm Spirit for GW2 Rangers are the only ones who inflict lightning-based damage by themselves.
Sure Rupture inflicts Lightning damage, but that’s just to make it fit with all other offensive Ritualist skills. I don’t know where you got the idea that the spirit itself was composed of lightning.
Again, basing yourself off Game Mechanics to establish false lore is totally flawed.
Also Monks don’t manipulate light, that’s more of the field of Mesmers and illusion-making. They afflicted Holy damage, which is completely different from Guardian (unless speaking about a Human Guardian whose faith resides in the Gods)

What are you even talking about at this point “lightning was there because it was the only way ritualists could be directly offensive” wtf. There are multiple energies in the game they didn’t have to pick lightning. Then you imply that the spirits of ritualists are the same as rangers.

“Breathe life back into the fallen. The miracle of rebirth…”

A flash of blue-white light surrounded Mordakai, and his body disappeared from the ground.

some things I say are not just based in game mechanics.

Ritualist Spirits and Ranger Spirits are the same, they even have the same wiki page, they just serve different purposes

Oh my lord. You are drawing lore by whether something is listed on the same wiki page? Ritualists spirits are from the underworld. Nature spirits are from nature. You refuse to consider lore that is from outside of the game and yet you use a wiki page layout as your proof.

The wiki page thing was added to further prove my claim. Although a Wiki page holds more weight Lore-wise than some game mechanic, but as you wish. If you want, then, just take a look at the Tablets of Wisdom in the Shing Jea Monastery. Spirits are the same.
While Ritualist forces them to make them do what he wants them to do (hence why the “BINDING ritual”), the Rangers spawns them and they’re neutral spirits (which is why they affect both allies and foes alike)
Also while Ritualist summons spirits that are the embodiment of Emotions, the Ranger will summon spirits that are the embodiment of Natural Forces. Both, to my knowledge, come from the Mists, given that they are SPIRITS.
Another strong correlation between Ranger and Ritualist could be the Ranger’s #2 Downed Skill ; Thunderclap, which can easily be associated with the Ritualist’s skills like Channeled Strike or Spirit Rift. Arguably, Lightning Reflexes also is a reference to the Ritualist’s Channeling Magic skills
